I sent otterbox an email after asking on there facebook page if they were going to have a case for the SGN and there reply was >
We have not confirmed if we are going to make a case for this device, but I am happy to pass your request on to our development team. Customer Service finds out about new case releases the moment they are posted to the website. It is best to keep an eye on our website or Facebook page, as they will have the most up to date information on our products and new cases.

Wow. What a generic response. That's like going into a cellphone carriers store and asking about a certain handset, (that's clearly at that location) and after asking the associate about it, they tell you they don't know much about it. "Duh?, don't you work here?"

Not having an Otterbox won't be a dealbreaker for me but I sure hope they make one. I loved the otterbox I put on my Bionic before I decided to return it due to the lackluster pentile screen.

As usual I have asked Otterbox if they intend making a case for the Nexus.

Apparently they're still looking into it.
Not having an Otterbox is certainly not a dealbreaker, but it is disappointing if they don't release one. We already missed out on the Nexus S defender that never went into production.
Those that want an Otterbox, I encourage you to tweet or FB them urging for a case. The more interest they get from us the better our chances of a case coming out. If they don't get many people asking, they'll figure the public isn't interested.

As per jive's suggestion, I've tweeted them for a defender. Lets flood their inbox guys.

I don't think you'll get a defender you might get a commuter like they had for the SGS2
But I tried the commuter out and it was as slippery as an eel NOT like for the iphones Also to mention the commuter was made for the unlocked version and it didn't line up the mic hole on the AT&T version
that's why I'm going with the AGF Ballistic If it matches up all the hardware right.
I do like the case-mate Tough case but I don't like that empty space on the bottom

A defender case would be nice if they make it the same way as for the iphone

And isnt the verizon version suppose to be thicker?

Too blurry to see. I hope this means we won't have different cases for the lte and gsm version. I was worried this would make finding accessories a pain in the ass. I don't usually use a case but it's nice to have around.

I believe the LTE version is .5mm thicker, but the cases should be pretty universal...

30 bucks.. worth it though

Went by a local Verizon store tonight. Asked about cases and screen protectors. Pulled my GNEX out to reinforce what I was asking about.
Blank stares followed by "uh, no we don't carry them" comments. Basically they acted like they saw something from the future and had no clue.
Op , were they on the floor or did you have to ask them to "check the back?"
I may try a few other stores tomorrow.

I got the black silicone case and 3pack of screen protectors. The case is meh...but the screen protectors are actually pretty nice!
They didn't have the accessories "on the floor"...had to ask for them. Man did I feel elitist after they gawked for a good 10 mins playing with my nexus..lol

Just sounds suspect. Did you basically tell them you know they have them and ask to buy? Like "I know you guys have accessories for this phone but don't have the phone yet but look I have a GSM one and want to buy the screen cover/case. Thanks."
I'm sure it sounds like an obvious question but when I tried yesterday they instantly said "nope we have nothing of the sort" while I feel they had some in the back...almost like they were't allowed to acknowledge them or sell them.

Please tell me why i would have a reason to lie? the original employee acted like he did not know, i then asked for the manager. Manager s a fellow Android enthusiasts and i guess sympathetic. Truth is all Verizon regional managers have one and have bee holding trainings with the stores on the phone and ICS. He even went on to tell me theres is coming the 8th/9th. Most likely that Thursday.Displays,paperwork and accessories are already in store. Original launch ws supposed to be Thanksgiving midnight, but was cancelled. If he was bs'ing me IDK. but it all falls in line with the rumors online

I've visited 4 Verizon stores in Utah today and all are mum about cases and screen protectors for the GNEX. I'm 0 for 4 and just wanted to know what the magic word was that convinces them to sell these accessories to you because nothing is working for me.

im sorry i did not mean to come off like that.. Maybe it was the fact that i went in there with a not going to take a no for answer attitude. Try walking in a saying " I have a GSM Galaxy Nexus from overseas. I know it is going to be an exclusive here with you guys. I was told when i called that you had accessories in stock in preparation for your DEC 8TH release. I would like to buy one now.. Thanks" then show him the phone and my video if ya like

Actually its more like some reps/managers are so snooty they dont want to bother going to the back because the commission is not big enough. Try buying a phone and see how much they bend over.

If they have to open it to apply it, it would.

When I watched the demo at CES they stated they do not need to open the device. They put the phone into a machine that released a 'fog' which spreads through the phone which waterproofs it.

looks neat and if you are one of those people dropping $40 on a case you probably wouldnt mind dropping the $60ish it looks like it costs. I'll be considering this.

Thanks for the update, they have yet to respond to any of my e-mail inquires about it and as far as I can tell Hz0 only deals with OEMs, I can't wait.
Can't wait to freak people out by using my Cell Phone as an underwater camera @ the pool lol.

Galaxy S III on Liquipel
Liquipel is now offering the Level II Slosh & Slip Protection option for the Galaxy S III
Not really happy that it's only Level II, but my phone is on the way.

I wish with this kind of technology, phone manufacturers would just add this to their manufacturing processes. obviously no one would because it would be higher cost and less revenue from non covered accidental damage.... Sigh

Good luck with that... This isn't designed so you can take your phone in the pool. Read the faqs and disclaimers.

Looks like the site was updated for the same price as everything else the s3 get "slap proofed" very disappointed and looking for alternatives.

Liquipel...
I got Liquipel on my iPhone 4 back in June and it’s saved it from getting destroyed at least three times. I even dropped it in a bubbling jacuzzi and it survived. I’ve been a believer ever since. You can’t tell anything has been done to it either, it comes back all clean in a nice metal container with a microfiber pouch. None of the water sensor stickers changed color when it got wet so even if it fails I can get a new phone on Apple. All in all I’d say its worth the $59. You no longer have to worry about losing a phone over a spilled drink or a little rain. Just makes you feel good.
Liquipel is going to be at CES again this year can’t wait to check out the show, I hear rumors of a machine doing free treatments at the show. :good:

Got wrong tablet?

This is probably the wrong place to ask, but xda layout confuses me.
After waiting in anticipation for weeks, my package finally arrived in the mail. My heart skipped a beat when i saw the silverish bezel around the tablet edge. I flipped it over and much to my dismay, no camera. I ended up with a 2012 nexus 7!
Now it isn't like i was misinformed and order the wrong one. The listing on amazon clearly stated it was 2013 edition. However ive never had something like this happen before and i dont know what to do.
Ive sent both the seller and amazon an email but have yet to hear back from either.

What did you pay with? Paypal often replies quickly to issues like this, and I'm sure you could take it up with your credit card company as well, have them reverse the charge. Maybe link the listing below so others can see?

Clearly the wrong tablet.
Since there was a 'seller' involved how a return could be handled in different ways.
If the order was shipped (fulfilled) by Amazon, getting a return will be easy, or should be. The Nexus tablet I looked up on Amazon were all fulfilled by Amazon. So Amazon screwed up. But that makes things easy.
An email is not needed in this case.
Initiate a return and you will get return instructions on how to ship the wrong one back, and in a day or two they will ship you a new one. You will have a few weeks to get the new one back do if it takes a couple of weeks to get back to Amazon it will not cause a problem.
If it wasn't fulfilled by Amazon you have to see what the return policy is for that seller.
Go to the tablet you ordered on Amazon and click on the link for the seller and choose return policy. But typically it's contact the seller which you have done.

The seller name was qualityseller and the person who responded to my email was named Nathan.
He informed me that i could send it back for a full refund, or keep it and get refunded the difference between the 2012 and 2013 price. I decided to keep it as im not in the mood to play the mail waiting game and it works perfectly fine for what i need.

If you don't mind me asking what was the difference between them money wise? Did you get the proper amount.
You're not missing much with the camera as it's not good. However I would be more concerned about the screen resolution between the two.

Put me down in the return it and get the 2013. Not that there is anything wrong with the 2012, but if you are just buying it now you will be keeping it for awhile and the 2013 is already what 6 months old? Clearly you wanted the 2013, so get it. It's worth it. I liked mine so much I bought one for a friend.

I would return it. Dakura is spot-on: the seller likely had 2012s he couldn't sell, resorting to a dirty trick.
My first-gen N7 was my first tablet, and like a lot of first cars, it's always special. (I wound up giving it to a friend so I could be assured of a good home.) But there's no comparison with the sharp display of the 2013.

Another vote for return it. While I liked my 2012 N7 in its day, the 13 is better in every way.

So far so good. Great improvement over my iPhone 6 Plus. Iris scanner works flawlessly for me and I have glasses. Overall I'm in love. Just sensuous using it as my case and screen protector won't be here until tomorrow. I'm on AT&T btw.

I'm on sprint so hopefully tomorrow.

Who did you order from, I ordered from Samsung, and it seems I won't be receiving mines anytime soon.

The phone is absolutely gorgeous! I came from the iphone 6s+, the fit and finish is phenomenal. My case and screen protectors will be here tonight from Amazon Prime (same day delivery totally worth it), the only thing I dislike now about the samsung phones would be the "ok google" is not longer available for always on, and yes I know how to set it up I wish Samsung would have kept that feature like "Hey Siri" on the iphone 6s+.
It is going to take some getting used to as I have been away from Android for about 8 months rocking my iphone, but I have always tried out the new Samsung phones S6 edge plus S7 edge plus but I have always returned them and went back to the iphone so we will see with this phone if I keep it past the 14 days , but so far so good!!!

This exactly. Had the 6S and then went to an SE haha. When the Note arrives, it'll be twice the size. I've promised myself to at least keep the Note until the release of the iPhone 8, as it's supposed to be edge to edge display and ultra HD.. We'll see

Haha I'm actually using it without a case but i left the stock "protector" on it. I am still waiting for the otterbox defender to be released so i don't have any plans on buying a case soon, i am temporarily using my mumu PS Vita pouch as a "case" to keep it in when I'm not using it as it has a very food material inside the prevents the device from getting scratched

That's awesome, i will go to the mall tomorrow to get a screen protector. Hopefully there will be some available locally (Philippines). At first i wss fixed on getting a TGSP for my note7 but after reading a lot of things about TGSP on "edge phones" i think I'll stick with the "plastic" ones for now.
Hopefully the defender will be released soon, i am honestly not that comfrotable using the phone without any protection as from the videos on YouTube, it can get scratched easily.

Actually pretty jealous of you all. I had mine preordered but accidentally hit the cancel button instead of save one day and had to start over. I was 55th yesterday, and 54th today/tonight, guessing I won't be getting it anytime soon haha.

Don't feel too bad for yourself lol. You could be in my position:
I ordered the Black Onyx 2 minutes after midnight with a Sprint invite code that was given to me by Sprint. Was supposed to get the phone over a week ago. But they screwed up my order. Instead of Black Onyx they are sending me the Titanium... Which I dont want. They refused to cancel my order or to even change the order to the proper one. Stating that they were 'still trying to find my device in the warehouse'... I'm sitting here like "well good, then you can tell them to STOP trying to find it" but they wouldn't. Then when I was told it would ship by a specific day, it didn't. I paid an extra 50 dollars for next day shipping as well, but guess what? It JUST shipped yesterday at 8pm! And wont be here until tomorrow while I'm at work. So I basically paid 50 bucks to have my phone shipped the same day as what it would have been with free shipping... Ontop of that, Sprint put a restriction on my package! So I can't have UPS hold the package at their sorting facility for me to just come pick up like I always have to do. My 'UPS Driver' is cruel and won't take the time to go down my drive way to deliver packages. Sure the drive way is around a quarter mile long, but his excuse every time is "I can't find the house"... When the house is two stores, the ONLY two story house in the area, and can be seen over the tops of the trees from the road... But nope, he just won't come down the drive way to deliver. So since I have that restriction, I can't pick up my package like I normally have to do. So, I now have to call off from work so I can sit at the end of the drive way to wait for the UPS guy to show up... Then I have to take the phone into a Sprint Store to have them exchange it for the Black Onyx one... IF they even have it in stock... Because apparently the stores haven't even gotten their devices in yet. I talked to them yesterday when I tried to see if they could just hand over the proper phone and then I'd drop off my current phone and the incorrect Note 7 back to them. They said they would, but they don't have any devices in the store. So I really need to hope and pray they have a Black Onyx version that hasn't been purchased yet...
Getting this phone has been the worst experience of my life in regards to trying to buy a smartphone... My Note 5 was a breeze, and my S4 was as well. I just walked into the store 4 days before launch and was like "hey, I wanna buy the S4" and the sales guy walked outa the stock room with an S4 and sold it to me. I pre-ordered the Note 5 within minutes of them opening up pre-orders, and got the phone 3 days later, weeks before you could even buy them in a store. And now, they ask me if I want this phone weeks early, and I take them up on the offer, and presto... worst experience ever.

Stating that they were 'still trying to find my device in the warehouse'... I'm sitting here like "well good, then you can tell them to STOP trying to find it" but they wouldn't. Then when I was told it would ship by a specific day, it didn't. I paid an extra 50 dollars for next day shipping as well, but guess what? It JUST shipped yesterday at 8pm! And wont be here until tomorrow while I'm at work. So I basically paid 50 bucks to have my phone shipped the same day as what it would have been with free shipping... Ontop of that, Sprint put a restriction on my package! So I can't have UPS hold the package at their sorting facility for me to just come pick up like I always have to do. My 'UPS Driver' is cruel and won't take the time to go down my drive way to deliver packages. Sure the drive way is around a quarter mile long, but his excuse every time is "I can't find the house"... When the house is two stores, the ONLY two story house in the area, and can be seen over the tops of the trees from the road... But nope, he just won't come down the drive way to deliver. So since I have that restriction, I can't pick up my package like I normally have to do. So, I now have to call off from work so I can sit at the end of the drive way to wait for the UPS guy to show up... Then I have to take the phone into a Sprint Store to have them exchange it for the Black Onyx one... IF they even have it in stock... Because apparently the stores haven't even gotten their devices in yet. I talked to them yesterday when I tried to see if they could just hand over the proper phone and then I'd drop off my current phone and the incorrect Note 7 back to them. They said they would, but they don't have any devices in the store. So I really need to hope and pray they have a Black Onyx version that hasn't been purchased yet...
Getting this phone has been the worst experience of my life in regards to trying to buy a smartphone... My Note 5 was a breeze, and my S4 was as well. I just walked into the store 4 days before launch and was like "hey, I wanna buy the S4" and the sales guy walked outa the stock room with an S4 and sold it to me. I pre-ordered the Note 5 within minutes of them opening up pre-orders, and got the phone 3 days later, weeks before you could even buy them in a store. And now, they ask me if I want this phone weeks early, and I take them up on the offer, and presto... worst experience ever.

Hoping as well haha. I wasn't even planning on getting the phone until they said they'd give it early and at a discount. But guess that was just too good to be true D=
