I'm well familiar with hero Tom's but not so much with these.. is there a good, reliable, smooth cyanogenmod port? I haven't been able to find one that looks ok.
She really just needs a good reliable, smooth Tom that gets good battery life. She isn't going to want me fooling with her phone all the time. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

The best odexed 2.2 ROM I've used was misfits alloy its sense.
I'm on mikg v1.03 now though its gb I've been running it for 2 days now with no problems also sense but sense 2.1-3.0.
The best aosp ROM I've used was decks ROM but I haven't tried it since version r I think he's at like w now so I'm sure it works even better now this is all opinion though.

k.. great! It's really a personal choice. You try some and pick what you like. I would try Fresh just as a starting point. My personal right now is Frost (Fresh with a good amount of AOSP) & Netarchy's 4.1.9.1 CFS kernel.
Also, you may get more replies in the Q & A forum/search.

Myn's been in Beta on Rls 5 for a week, AND, even though he hadn't been updated in a whole 3 1/2 weeks, even his Rls 2 had 4G and about 25 other functions everyone else was just playing catch-up on!!!

Myn's Rom is great. Reliable, stable, fast, fully functional.
It was first released on Sept. 25 (rls1) , has had three updates since then, the current version is rls4, rls5 is being beta tested and should be ready within a week I'd guess. Not bad - FIVE versions in a little more than 3 months.
My vote is for Fresh ROM.

There are some ROMs floating around that haven't been updated in 2 months or more, but Myn takes a vacation and automatically his work is considered inferior? Some developers post up an update just to add one updated apk, when Myn updates his ROMs, they are major changes to the ROM. Myn has brought MANY firsts to sense ROMs, and paved the way for many others to follow.
The bar will be raised even farther when Rls5 releases.
Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo is, by far, the best developed Sense ROM and very possibly the best overall ROM for the Evo.

First, make a nandroid backup. Then, back-up all your apps/data using titanium backup and just wipe everything (data, cache, etc..) and reflash the rom. if 4g works, restore all your apps and data and you should be good to go. if not, then try flashing another rom. i'd recommend mikfroyo, fresh, or myns if you want a sense rom, and cyanogen 7 wimax if you want an AOSP rom. if your 4g STILL isn't working after that, then make sure your area actually has 4g coverage (use a friends phone or something, just because the sprint site says your city has 4g doesn't mean the area you're in definitely has it). if that doesn't work, then you have a problem.
Use Mikfroyo 4.5 and roll back to radio 1.77 and get sbc 131. This is the best combo I have used so far. Battery life and performance is awesome. I have hardware version 002.

I switch back and forth between Calk's and Starburst each time there is a new release. I don't theme and I don't even know how to test a quadrant. BUT, for normal everyday use, battery life, and smoothness of operation; I can't tell a difference between the two.
What is a distinctive like or dislike about either ROM that makes you prefer it over the other?
Switching back and forth is such a pain though when you have to redo all your widgets, shortcuts, reinstall all the apps, etc. I'm sticking with Calk's rom unless Starburst really does something to set itself apart. Right now I can barely tell the difference besides the theming...which doesn't matter that much to me since I love the ICS theme.

Nandroids are your friends. As well as TB.
This morning I odin'ed back to complete stock then ran the new script found in the Dev forum to root a stock E4GT w/o odin or cwm. Works like a charm. Leaves the phone/kernel completely stock but w/ root to be able to run your fav root aps.

Just like the title says, it can be a gb/ics/jb rom, doesn't matter.
What's the rom that keeps you running back?
What's been the most reliable/fastest rom?
For me personally I have to say CM10 because I love JB. Coming in at a close second would be the Blu Kuban.
Aaaaand go....
I really liked Codename JB rom but the battery life wasn't good enough for everyday use. I know I will be back on that rom soon. In the meantime I have been on a vanilla aosp ICS rom for the past few weeks. Longest I have been on anything.
