hi to everyone
i never try to flash my tp2 with a custom rom but i would create my own rom with the only program that i really use.
is there a program where i can start from an original htc rom and exclude or add some programs?
thank you
Are you looking for something like this or? :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311909

Chef central has the kitchens, builds and some of the source files you'll need. Look in the stickies of the forum before you post in there. Good luck and share your rom once you have it running.

Hi - I have both a Universal and a Wizard. For a while now, on my Wizard I've been using a ROM made up of 'best bits' of all the available releases, with all carrier customisations removed - this is released under the name 'Mr. Clean' rom. It's bugless and lightweight. Perfect!
Does anyone release a similar rom for the Universal? Or does anyone prepare one for their own use who might consider sharing? It really would be great to see.
This would be cool
We should do this.
A "Clean" ROM with a CAB set to choose from for each provider.
I would appreciate this greatly - since t-mobile remove some stuff from the blank setup.
Rich
A fast, lean and mean ROM would be awesome. I don't have the time or skills unfortunately.
There is one already. It was made by Jwright. Just don't install the Ext ROM if you really want it to be super clean. Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=55019&sid=7789d445c5b87ea11980c475ab58e2c9
I followed that thread - but the links dont exist.
Could someone upload the T-mobile version of Jwright's ROM to the XDA-Developers FTP site??
If not - email it to me, PM me for my address. I'll host it on my website if someone sends it.
I just tried the thread I posted above and the link works fine. It must be your computer settings.
I am not sure which version is this though. I think he released QTEK, IMATE, and TMOBILE versions. Just use the Ma_Upgrade_No_ID_Tool.
The links to the other topics work OK but the ROM links given in http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=55019&sid=7789d445c5b87ea11980c475ab58e2c9
don't?? There is no such directory on the ftp site????
Exactly - The posts link OK, but the FTP site doesnt contain the ROMS
The link I posted above is the link to the topic with the files you guys are looking for. It should be on the first post of that link, and it works fine on mine.
Yes it does but we're talking about the links to Jwrightmcps modified ROM's... These are missing from the FTP site????
I am now confused. This has been discussed before, someone took off those files from the fttp. Probably someone does not want to share or maybe it took a great chunk of memory storage. That is why "Xanadu" provided us with this alternate download site, but it is the same file, so it does not really matter if we can't find the original posted file by Jwright because someone was gracious enough to share.
I thought the topic was where is Jwright's Modified ROM? I provided a link on where to donload it. Question answered. What is still the confusion? Are you looking for a specific file for a specific device like Jwright promised? If so, he also left instructions on how to use the Ma_Upgrade_No ID file. So just extract the files necessary and rename them, then install.
I am sorry if this has been asked before, I did a few searches and couldn't find the info I was after.
I am playing around with some of the ROMs available from different developers on this forum and was wondering, when you flash a new ROM is there a config/settings file that sets up the different parameters on the PPC?
I would love to be able to customise a ROM that automatically installed the CABs I want plus set up the environment variables such as ringtone+vibrate, today screen items, theme etc..

Thanks for posting a link to a thread I have already read .. but
I am after info for when compiling a new (cooked) ROM
search for Ext_rom and see what you find....
Hello Everybody,
Made this thread so that there be a common point where you can find all the Roms either cooked or upgraded ones. I would like all of you to get involved and use this thread and paste the links of all the Roms along with their snapshots so that who so ever flash a new rom knows how it looks.
Hope this thread be a useful one for all of us.

Hi all,
I look into the ROM development thread, but I couldn't figure out...
Is there a way to backup the original ROM my phone has?
I have no problems with the original ROM, but I want to try also the original WM6.5 ROM, when it will be out. But if I don't like WM 6.5, it would be handy to have also my current ROM available.
Is there a tool that does that? Extract the original ROM that my phone now has?
Hi,
I would like to know this too as id like to try some of the cooked roms but id like the option of going back to shipped rom if possible.
Thanks
Easy way is to just go to HTC's support page and download the latest official ROM so that you can flash back if the cooked ROMs are not to your liking. I've done this a couple times already...
Can we backup our ROM or not?
I would really need to do that because i have a special locked down ROM from my company and would like the possability to restore it later...

Can you please post a link - I can't seem to find a link to downloadable ROMs..
Look here instead

It also can be found on providers page, for me it was htc page. It depends.
Hi all Desirian Guru,
I am not sure this is the right place to bring this stupid question, but if you, the operator, found it is wrong, please move to where it should be. I would like to create or develop, if I can, my own custom ROM for fun and share. Could anyone here kindly point me what steps I should take, what the prerequisites I should have.
Appreciate you guys so much if those tools are supported on my Ubuntu.
and on windows too!

Might help
Start here, if you are intending to build from the AOSP source:
http://source.android.com/porting/index.html
http://source.android.com/source/git-repo.html
Get the source code from here:
http://android.git.kernel.org/
There is an unofficial "vendor" from devoferreria for the htc bravo board here:
https://github.com/defer/android_device_htc_bravo
The cyanogenmod wiki has a load of excellent info on it, including compiling your kernel:

If you are looking to mod a SenseUI rom there are guides around here that explain how to change the framework. That is a different art ... use a wider forum search and you should find them.
TheGost1233, stOkes,
thanks for your advise.
You guys rock.
