signature verify fail - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have tried with my Desire a change from oxygen to update-cm-7.0.0-Desire make-signed. The following has happened. If I'm in the bootloader and then select them, choose from SD_karte zip and then press the power button goes from the display. If I then press it again goes back in and the selection appears at the same point.
I try to go fastboot, I get an error message, see above. Now I can not change so no matter how anything. The Desire gets stuck in startup mode. I can only respond to the ADB device.
Is there a way to start from scratch?
Expressed by way of loan, take everything down and play on it again.
Or else, there is a separate boot, recovery, system and are userdata.img? And if so, how can you bypass the verification?

Turn off signature verification in recovery.

Hi and thanks for the reply.
What exactly do I have?
I go into the boot mode
I select Recovery, Power Botton
It is the Recovery Window:
Top ClockworkMod Recovery is v2.5.0.7,
Among them is the selection menu
no matter what I select now. It's always the same.
The screen goes dark and nothing ....
If I then press Power again comes the selection.
Can you tell me the command lines for fast boot or ADB?

This might help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944426&page=3
Search the Clockwork Mod menu for signature verification toggle. I use RaRecovery so I don't know where that is exactly located in CWM.

It's under "advanced" option if I remember rightly...

Hi,
up to select "advanced" I come. With the Vol + / - button I can navigate. If I then go on Advenced and the power button actuated, is "only" the display is dark. Nothing happens. You then hit the power button again the display will light again and is back on "advanced". From there I get no further.

[Q][SOLVED] How to go into CWM recovery using key combination?

Hi,
I just rooted my Desire Z and installed Virtuous Sense ROM but I don't know how to get into recovery mode beside using ROM Manager to do that.
I pushed volume down and power at the same time and it gets into a screen with three little androids below the screen and I see there are some options with the selected on highlighted in blue (is this correct?) but I cannot use volume up/down to change the option, I press power button and it get to HBOOT asking me to update PC101MG.zip again... and I can use volume down to cancel this update and power button to reboot again.
Anyone can help me?
Thanks.
Go to the root folder of your SD card and remove the PC101MG.zip file. Once you do that it shouldn't prompt you to update PC101MG.zip again. Then you can select recovery by pressing the volume button.
Sound like you flashed a radio but forgot to remove it from what i understand from your post.

If it has clockworkmod than it should work like this
Using Clockwork Recovery console
Disconnect the USB cable and reboot the phone into HBOOT mode (power off, then hold volume down key and press-hold power on key).
HBOOT will scan for the ESPRIMG.zip file (and some others), then present you with 4 options: Fastboot, Recovery, Simlock and Clear Storage.
Press volume down key to select Recovery, and press power key to apply.
This will take you to a screen with a black background, a picture of a phone and a big red exclamation mark.
Press and hold the Volume Up key, then whilst still holding Volume Up, press the Power key. This will take you to a secret yellow menu with a few options (you may also get an error like E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command, it's ok to ignore this one).
Press Volume Down to scroll the list and highlight Apply sdcard:update.zip. Press the Power button to activate.
This will flash the update.zip file we copied to the root of the memory card, which activates a custom tool called the Clockwork Recovery. Clockwork lets us do many things, including making full phone backups, and installing unsigned ROM images. Clockwork gets wiped every time you reset the phone. So to use it, you must always reboot into HBOOT mode, choose Recovery, activate the hidden menu and apply the update.zip as above. You will be doing this multiple times, so get used to it.
If that doesn't work than you need to put http://dl.dropbox.com/u/642364/slideroot/update.zip that in your sd card
After you flash Clockwork Recovery for the first time, you should download Rom Manager, and in it will have an option that says "Reboot into Recovery", and once you select that, it will take you directly to Clockwork, so no more constant reflashing

[Q] help CMW not working

Hello,
I've installed cmw, but when i boot inside cmw i can move up, down, press power, but if i press power i get a blank screen (or a static screen with the icon, depending on the cmw version). there is an error too, when starting cmw, saying "pc49img.zip not found or wrong". Maybe something didn't work? What can i do? I tried flashing everything with no success. it seems root is working and i can start android, but no cmw for flash a new rom. I have the default 2.2.1.
Thank you all for the help!

no worries- all good. Fastboot just checks if there's a file to flash (by fastboot itself - not clockworkmod) it's normal - nothing wrong, it's just the message that it didn't find anything to flash.
Just flash a ROM and enjoy
Swyped from my HTC Wildfire (Buzz)
Oh thanks! It works! Damn, I was using the power button for hours!
Its called CWM by the way not CMW
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

just to make sure (hint: you generally should be a bit more specific in your description): you mean if you
- choose Recovery from the Fastboot menu with volume keys (after Fastboot has been finnishing loading)
- hit power to select Recovery
- move to "install zip from sdcard" with volume keys inside Clockworkmod
- hit the trackball to choose "install zip from sdcard"
If you have done all that you most likely should try to reflash Clockworkmod. This should be explained in the guide you did follow.
But - wait a moment - you just mentioned that root seem to be working - how did you find out? What exactly is Fastboot showing (when you boot into Fastboot by holding Volume key down and Power)?
If you have done the process by Revolutionary it should say something like that:
Code:
-Revolutionary- (white on magenta/pink background)
BUZZ PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.01.1002

Thank you for the timely response. Unfortunately I just noticed in the background in CWM that my droid man has a red triangle with ! point inside him. The options given to me are as follows...
Reboot system now
Apply update from ADB
Apply uopdate from Ext. Storage
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Apply update from cache
Which of these options should I use if any and or should I flash CWM again on Odin in order to get the screen you are speaking about?
If I do need to flash again what are the correct steps to clear what CWM is already in place? Thank you again for all of your help. I am a noob that rooted my SIII a while back and obviously it is a little different with the Tab 7.0.

Ok I did that and got a pass on Odin. Now my screen is still in Odin mode with a green droid in the middle and under that it says in white letters Downloading....Under that it says Do not turn off target!! in green letters. How do I properly restart? In CWM as normal? (Hold POWER, Volume UP, and the HOME button all at the same time. When you see the Samsung Logo, let go of the POWER button, but keep holding the Volume UP and HOME until you see the recovery screen). Thanks...

Update...Just re read this
--Auto Reboot can be un-checked if CWM doesn't flash correctly on your device. Some have reported that un-checking Auto Reboot fixes this issue. If you un-check Auto Reboot, you will need to reboot the device yourself (refer back to step 10).
Trying now fingers crossed!!!

Help, possible bricked A100

I was trying to go back to stock ICS and cwm recovery. When I tried to go back, I was currently rooted, running twrp recovery and a custome rom (carbon). I followed this procedure:
The simple method to revert back to stock ICS from a custom ROM on an A100.
+++Locked bootloader, no custom recovery, no root. Full stock .014 rom. It will recieve OTA updates to latest Acer version.+++
Get Ready
1) Download this flashable Stock recovery zip, and place in your normal flashing location, - Thx 4 help pio
http://db.tt/VLmnMCzq
Also uploaded below
2) Download the Official .014 Stock ICS rom
The stock ICS zip from zeronull. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1611696
Here is a second link to it. http://ubuntuone.com/7DZtbNqZzOk7qsaQxNk99a - thx zleto
3) Rename the Stock ICS rom to "update.zip", no quotes (make sure you have "hide known file extensions" UNCHECKED, in the folder options). And place it on the root of your microSD card. This will allow you to see the file extension to verify that it is named properly.
Get it Done
1) Flash the Stock recovery zip with your custom recovery. Then wipe cache, davlik cache, and wipe data/factory reset.
2) Reboot to system.
3) Allow it to sit for 5 minutes or so.
4) Then Power off.
5) Update from the microSD card by holding down the power and volume rocker closest to the corner at the same time, until you see "erasing cache .".. ect, ect. The stock rom install should start by itself, dont touch anything, wait for it to reboot.
****** If it won't boot do a factory reset (with the hardware buttons, see below) and/or try to reflash the ics rom one more time. ******
Quote:
To perform a Factory Data Reset use the following steps:
1.Place the rotation lock switch in the up position (tablet held in portrait). Or to the left if held in landscape.
2.Press and hold the Volume down button, which is located farthest from the corner (it is volume up, if held in landscape).
3.With the Volume down button held, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds then release it. Continue holding the Volume down button.
4.Once the tablet vibrates, switch the rotation lock on and off repeatedly while still holding the Volume down button.
5.Release the Volume down button and stop switching the rotation lock once the "Erasing Userdata..." message appears in the upper left corner of the screen
Now I get the android symbol with the red triangle, that stays for about a minute, then it reboots and stays on thye acer screen. When I did the steps and was going to reboot, I received a waring while in recovery sayiny that I dont have a op installed. I did it anyway, as posted and now I'm stuck, can anyone PLEASE help me.I tried doing a reset with steps 2 though 4 but while pressing the vol up and letting go of the power button, it does not vibrate.
Ok, I redownloaded the stock ICS from here http://ubuntuone.com/7DZtbNqZzOk7qsaQxNk99a. At the end of the download, a window popped up saying this may be a malicious file. (Idownloaded it on my pc). I remember it also said the same thing when I downloaded it the first time too. I turned off the tablet, took the sd card out, put in pc and transferred the file, pulled out from pc, inserted in tablet and turned it on, still same thing with android synbol and red triangle. I tried to do a factory reset by following the steps above. I got it to say erasing userdata, then this is what it says in red, unrecoverable bootloader (ox19000008) I have no idea what this means?? Can anyone help me out with getting this back to stock ICS and recovery?? What do I do next?? Thanks
Now, when I do the same procedure but instead use the vol up button (instead of the down button), it comes up bootloader, then the version number, then starting fastboot usb protocol. I have no idea what this means??
