Hi
Right now I have Clockwork 2 point something or other. I feel like trying out a new ROM and now they are all saying to use Clockwork 3.
How would I go about upgrading it?
Thanks guys .
Try installing "Rom Manager" from market. Then use it to flash latest clockwork recovery.

or, alternatively you can do it manually, but ENG S-OFF is needed .... UPDATE CWM LINK
Thanks guys. The ROM manager unfortunately only has 3.0.2.6 as the latest and its at 3.2 now so I just used CodeNameUnknown's method. Worked like a charm! Thanks.
FYI for future reference, If you look at the last option in Rom manager at the bottom (all clockworkmod recoveries). You will see the older recovery options available to install
Either way have fun

Why is there a version difference?
I thought that rom manager and cwm are from the same developer.
Is 3.2 beta and 3.0.2.6 stable?
Oops ignore my reply I misdeeds your question.
Yeah I thought 3.2 was beta also ... Hmm if so I will stick with stable when flashing ROMs but that's my choice

Im pretty sure 3.2 isnt beta. I read that ROM Manager just hasnt been updated with the latest version.

Koush doesn't always compile the latest CWR's for all devices so it's more of an unofficial version, But beware if you install anything newer than 3.0.2.6 Rom Manager will report it as 3.0.2.6 as it doesn't register the unofficial clockwork versions although they will work fine.

I can flash any Rom but cm 6... I've tried diff recoveries etc... I tried the new clockwork fix koush released and nothing has worked... someone heeeelp!

It just stays on the white HTC screen after install

Same thing happened to me with Skyraider 3.3 because I tried to flash a different kernel at the same time. So flash a stock kernel or one of koush's custom ones. Then reflash CM6.
Also you should've wiped data & cache before you flashed any new ROM.
I always wipe etc when flaming a Rom... do you have the slcd?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
i tried that...and same result...im thinking its a framework issue..but i dont know exactly..really frustrating tho!..someone help lol
Some people were running into this issue with ShadowROM and I think the conclusion they came to was that they had different drivers.
is there any way to fix that?
i know i cant be the only person with an SLCD screen running into this issue
If it is indeed a driver issue, you could always build the rom yourself and pull the drivers directly from your phone. That is of course assuming that HTC didn't rename the drivers

That is beyond me to do... lol

CM6 is not built for use with the SLCD version of the Incredible; refer to the full update guide for the Inc in their wiki.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=808972
The maker of shadowrom has the SLCD INc now, i'm sure if he gets a fix. He'll share the info with CM sourse
Having the same problem. I'm thinking of attempting to flash the N1 CM6 then flash the IncDoes N1 port update over it. Should fix the problem being that the N1 runs and slcd display and has no issues. I'll post back and let you know the outcome. Before i go through all that though, does anybody know if they added support for the slcd in any of the nightlys?
Its actually a kernel issue...flash the rom then flash an aosp kernel and it will work...where is that n1 port?

I ask in the ShadowROM IRC channel last night and they told me the same thing: SLCD driver issue. Since one of their devs now has an SLC Dinc they are working on fixing the problem...hopefully soon.
Yeah CM6 doesn't play too nice with the SLCD.
I have the SLCD and I am running Virtuous 3.1 with custom kernel and the IncRevo theme.
Couldn't be happier!

Is the procedure: flash rom, gapps, kernel then reboot? Can you share link to the kernel? It is not in the Incredible section at Cyanogen webpage.

I tried a KK kernel supplied by the guys at ShadowROM but that didn't work, so curious to try with the Koush kernel mentioned above.

Yes. CWM 3.0.0.5 supports both 2.3 and 2.2 ROMs back and forth compatibility no problems.
Next time OP, post in the Q and A forum please.
I can conferm it works, I use it to go between 2.2 & 2.3 roms most days
Note: Emothers TheOffical doesn't work though, have to flash the old recovery to flash that rom (Located under experamental builds at the bottom!)

Can any 1 tell me what is bonsai 4.0 and what do i need to do with it if i want 2 install that rom? Also what cwm do i have 2 b on 2 install this rom?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
Bonsai 4.0.0 is a custom ROM made by Randy_T and Mammon.
If you want to install it head on over to the link in my sig and register. 4.0.X versions are available for download for free.
It is recommended that you are on CWM 3.0.0.6.
Best route is to grab the ROM and put it on your SDCard.
Use EB13 3.0.0.6 Recovery / Root found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897612
Boot into CWM and let the phone format your stuff to EXT4.
Flash Bonsai

I have had the IRONMAN ROM flashed for a few hours. i agree with everything in the previous post CWM3, EXT4....however using EB13 my phone always wants to update to EC05.... not a big deal... I dont like the icon pooping up all the time. I flashed back to DK28.... no updates coming in... works great... just my 2 cents
How is this relevant to the iron man rom?
Simply put. I believe the thead is labeled "IRON MAN ROM" which if I'm not mistaken is based off bonsai.... Just a shot in the dark. As for my post, as I stated, "just my 2 cents" about my interaction with the rom.

Since it was stated that it is based on Bonsai 4 then you need CWM 3.0.0.6.
How do I update to 2.3.7? I get the notification but everytime I try and update it reboots to CWM and aborts.
Bump.

Latest update for us is 2.3.5
You can get 2.3.7 by flashing some custom rom, such as cm7.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using xda premium
Then that's what I need I assumed it was 2.3.7 because of custom roms. Still my question remains... How do I update...

search forums for a custom rom you desire

and follow procedure to flash

I said this after someone told me what you just said... This thread doesn't even have 2 pages of posts and you can't read 2 replies before....
Regardless, I want to know how to flash an update. Would I have to uninstall CWM and install the update that way then reinstall CWM, or is there a way that is easier?
For official updates you need stock HTC recovery. That's why it boots to cwm and aborts. Try the unroot tool by rezo. It installs stock recovery for you. You can't be rooted too, I've heard. So use that tool and all should be fine.

When I installed OpenSEMC beta-2, I got the Team Win recovery which according to me is quite brilliant. After I updated to PAC rom version 22.1.1 (or something like that ), The recovery was changed with a buggy version of CWM- recovery. How can I get the Team Win recovery? Do I have to flash the kernel again?

I have just updated PAC ROM to 22.4, before that I was trying to make backup of ParanoidAndroid Settings ( Settings/Hybrid Properties/Tolls/Backup Preferences ) but i get the message "sucsesfully backed up properties.conf to null/backup/[date].conf" but when i tried to restore these backup i get message ""No backups found".
