Hi - I was trying to create a partition on my Sd card using the sdparted method. It gave an error after writing the commands to Shell. After that i rebooted my phone and it won't respond. It won't respond to the power Button, Recovery mood or any thing. If i'll plugin to my computer it would play a sound as if a device has been connected but it wont respond. I have pulled out the battery reinserted it but still its not functional or responsive. Can any one guide me any fix regarding the same.
Error I received was : /dev/mmcblk0p2 does not exis

Hi Thanks for your response. Latest one. 3.0.0.26
This might and might not..
I would format the sd card, then connect the phone to the PC and flash an ruu file.

People I am really looking forward to your replies over here Kindly help me out =)
Well I am just waiting to get my hands back on the phone and I am thinking of doing the same. Should i remove the SD card during that or i keep it in? I am flashing the RUU 1.32 one. Whats your suggestion?
I would format the sd card, insert it back into the phone and flash an ruu of your choice.
I had an issue where the screen stopped completely responding (wiping, switching roms and restoring the nandroid backup didn't work. I flashed 1.32 that's what I would recommend.

hi, there...
plug your DHD into your computer and try adb
type
>adb devices
IF your device is listed, then type....
>adb logcat
and paste the message here (upload it on a .txt file) or just paste it here, your choice.
EDIT: does the HTC splash screen appear? (White BG with HTC logo)?, is that where it hangs?

Nope no device is shown
The main concern i have is if the device is dead or has a faulty hardware which it should cuz i just tried to partition the sd card why does it make a connecting sound with the pc when attached without an SD card. It shouldnt. It needs to be worked out.
People I've read some awesome work of you guys here. I am sure you can easily break this issue down i need your attention.
have you tried adb logcat without typing adb devices? (it worked with me once, it didnt show up under devices but logcat worked)
Also, go to 'Device Manager' in windows. Do you get an unrecognized device? or a 'Android USB Device' or something of the sort?
EDIT: leave the sd-card out for now...or format it (not quick format) and put it back in
It is displaying an unrecognized device as QHUSB_DLOAD

I'll bump this to see if we can get anyone to help you. It's not an ADB/Android issue though. Something is going on with Windows that's causing the crash. Not sure what though, my guess would be a virus but that's just an "I have no idea" answer. Have you tried a system restore yet? That might help.

This isn't an Android/ADB issue, something is up with your system; I'd suggest checking the system logs once your system comes back up after a crash to see what's going on.

Okay. Tommorow i will check my PC wit anti-vir programs. On the Win Xp i got bluescreen (screen of death :O) but it will work after restart. On windows 7 all freeze, sounds too. It`s strange. In system logs in Log name I got System and source is Kernel-Power. The level is critical. Sorry for mistakes but I have system in Polish language And i`m not trying to restore system
Hm... No virusses. But I tryied to do root with AMT but it`s the same all freze and i need to hold power button on pc to do power off it. Maybe it`s problem with motherboard?
I would avoid trying to root till you fix your computer, sounds like a recipe for disaster....
Hello,
My A100 is stuck at the android logo, but never loads.
I have tried the EEUs that is available here (thanks), but because I can only connect in APX mode, the CPUID.txt file is never created. Thus when I enter my correct CPUID the program says it is incorrect.
Can anyone upload the contents from the CPUID.txt file, or perhaps recommend a tutorial on using NVFLASH included in the Image folder of the EEUs file?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as my a100 is a total brick.
where is the file located? I have spent 15 minutes looking for it.

Hi. Thanks for looking.
According to all of the tutorials I have read it should be in a folder called 7zXXXX.tmp in c:\users\(username)\appdata\local\temp
Unless my info is outdated and te program doesn't create it anymore, but according to the A500 forum you have to enter the CPUID into the CPUID.txt file when the temp directory is created, WHILE the program is still running.
I was looking on the phone.
Sorry, I do not have anything in my tmp directory. I have a script that clears my tmp folder every night.
Thanks for checking
The tmp directory disappears once you close the eeus program.
Hello,
I have a same problem after rewrite my framework-res.apk.
in EUU a put correct CPUID, but the programs said it's wrong.
also i can't find CPUID.txt in this directory.
I reflash my A100 with update.zip, just put it on SD card through card reader.
now it's work fine.
Sorry for my english.
I am unable to flash using the update.zip method, as I always get the message:
recovery verified failed. spin forever (in red letters).
i've this problem too. No way to solve it. Someone have found a solution?
I've solved putting update.zip into the SDcard and running recovery at startup.
Before using this system the tab remains with the android symbol with the " ! " inside it and nothing happen. After that, I've erased any data in the SD, placed update.zip in it and powered up using power button+left volume, or right, I don't remamber. But finally it works.
I tried that as well with a freshly erased sd card 2gb. Still get the recovery verified failed in red letters.
Anyone? Help please.

How did you get this number anyway? CPUID must be something like this 039061c0424f3417.If you using Windows download USBDeview if your device is been connected to PC before to brick it you will see his CPUID.
already done that

Hey my HTC Wildfire screen stopped working whan i went to boot menu i saw that there writes "TOUCH PANEL - fail". I know that its possible to fix it via flashing a new rom, but how can i do this without clockwork mod ? My phone have only stock adroid recovery.. also debugging is standart type i dk on or off. So please help to reslove this problem.
Maybe this goude can fix my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1162971 ?
Thanks for posting and helping.
If it says that in the recovery boot menu it may well be faulty.
You could try making a gold card then flash an official ruu.
pls give me a link how to make everything i am a huge noob in telephone software..

[ROM]Shipped Marvel ROM Collection
Check the above link to get the rom you need.
Then Google easy goldcard creator
Or your under warranty it might be better for you to send for repair.
That happens to my old Wildfire S. Both the screen and home buttons went and I couldn't do anything. I returned it as I only had it for 3 weeks and they gave me a new one, No issues with it since. I have read around the net that people have had the same issues with the phone and it's just faulty. I have had my new one for 4 months and it hasn't had an issue...
Yeah my first one had a problem with the touch screen. When charging and using the touch screen it would do some crazy stuff like moving all my icons, scrolling pages etc.
Only had it a day then called my provider who sent a new one.
Had this one about 7 months and its perfect.
My son has one and it has a bad power button, have to press it 3 to 4 times to wake the phone. Seems to be common to the sensation.
I will not change my telephone, becouse i can't.. any more ideas how can i flash a new rom ?

Go to your phones settings
Then look for 'connect to PC'
Then tick the box that says ask me or change default connection type.
Alternative is when connected to PC drag the notification bar down and you'll see USB connection, click it and choose required connection.
If it helped hit the thanks button.
why dont you read the all theme ? I can't unlock my phone i can't do anything just go to boot menu i turn it is everything good but it doesn't unlock becouse my touch panel is fail.

yes ofc. Hmm tomorrow i will try to make a gold card, please give me any more solutions, thanks.
I have searched through many microphone issue threads and none seem to help. I have a T-mobile htc g2 which has been unlocked and using my AT&T SIM Card. The phone works perfectly, except no one can hear me during phone calls. The voice search app works perfectly -text,navigation, etc. (so it should not be a hardware problem) which leads to a software problem. I have factory reset the phone several times, but it doesn't fix the problem. I have tried to flash ROM the phone, but I cannot get the phone to ROOT. I have tried Visonary (which failed since I have Android 2.3.4) and the xda wiki page, but my phone is not recognized by HTC Sync or adb.
Either way, I need help figuring out if I can ever fix the microphone issue this phone has. If there is another way to install a ROM, please let me know. I have been trying for days to get my phone rooted.
For more information:
I have tried both versions 3.2.20 and 3.0.5551 of HTC Sync (and neither worked). I've restarted my computer and the phone, turned off antivirus, followed HTC instructions; but nothing worked.
When trying adb, in the command prompt after typing "adb devices" I received this message: " 'adb' is not recognized as a internal or external command, operable program or batch file " To my knowledge I followed all the previous steps correctly, although I have windows 7 and not vista (but I still got to the same properties).
Anyway, please help me with any information.
UPDATE:
I finally rooted and downgraded the phone to 2.2 Android and then flashed a sense 2.0 ROM (although it was force closing applications), but it did not fix the microphone issue. People still cannot hear me during phone calls. So it seems that this must be a hardware problem, but if the mic works for some applications, is it the microphone that is broken? Or could it be something else?
Right now my phone is still in 2.2 Android since I may be flashing the Sense 3.0 ROM soon. But does anyone know what the problem could be and how to fix it?
if adb is not recognized then you are not pointed to it. you need to either
change directories in cmd and point it to the folder adb is in
or
change the path in system variables so when you type "adb" into cmd it will always find the path no matter where you are directing it
or if these steps are above your head,
open the folder adb.exe is located, hold shift and right click in the folder - then choose open command here
once in cmd, type
adb devices
if your phone is plugged in, debugging turned on, proper drivers installed you will see a serial number, that's good - continue
if you see waiting for device, then adb.exe is now working but your phone isn't being detected
if you get the same error as before you need to one of the other ways I mentioned

That worked perfectly and I guess my phone is seen by adb. However, I realized the link of the xda wiki for the clockwork recovery is not working. I am trying to find another download link, but does anyone know where else you can download the clockwork recovery for htc g2?
go to the cyanogen wiki (just google it)
but I would recommend 4ext recovery, (you can google this too) it far nicer than clockwork for the vision
on a side note, find strawmetal's guide to rooting, its in pdf format and also has all the downloads needed

the mic is part of the main flex cable, it is possible it cuts in and out because the flex is going bad and the mic is fine.
either way sounds like the only fix will be to replace your flex about 35~40 on ebay and 30~60min depending on how novice/pro you are

My HTC One X has a dead screen. The actual OS, lights and touch digitizer work as they should.
I have a lot of documents and photos on the phone that I would love to get off the phone via USB, but I cant quite get to the settings page without a screen.
If there is a way to pull the data off without having to go into the settings and set USB to file transfer, or if someone can send screenshots so I can see where to tap, that would be great.
I need a screenshot of the password screen (keypad), the settings screen all the way until i get to the usb screen, if anyone would please.
Thanks. First thread.

Ah you are fully stock, no unlocked bootloader and custom rom ?
Well at least we can try this :
Download android SDK bundle (Google ) and unpack it to lets say :
C:\android
So we can find it easily ! Navigate with windows explorer to that folder and unfold the folders to a folder named "platform-tools" and check that you have adb.exe inside that folder.
Hold down shift and right click the mouse, select "open command window here.
Now connect the phone and type :
Adb devices in the command window

It says "List of devices attached" and nothing else, then goes back to where it was. My phone does come up in "My computer" as drive K, but it cant be opened, probably due to the phone not allowing access, yknow when you hook it up it asks what you want it to do with the USB, like sync or charge, but its defaulted to charge only. But yeah, ADB DEVICES doesnt really do anything as far as I notice.
Then you probably have the problem that usb debugging is not enabled
You are on JB .... do you know how to get the phone on its homescreen ?

Sorry for the late reply, but, It still has internet connection and I can install an app from the Play store remotely. I just cant run it due to the broken screen, but, if possible, is there a remote-access app that doesnt require setup that you know of? Or an app that enables file access somehow, Im not sure.
Or im still out of options. thanks again for your attention.
