Asking if anyone else has run into this issue.
I back up the Amazon App store and the apps that came with it. I then proceed to wipe, flash new rom. Using Titanium back up I restore all the apps in addition to the Amazon App Store. I launch the app store and it asks me to log in. Afterwards I see a list of all the apps I downloaded and have installed. I try to launch any of them and it basically tells me I don't own the app.
Anyone have any ideas about this?
I just install the appstore w/o restoring data. Login and register the device and then restore my apps.
I'm re flashing the phone and I will try what you said.
That's a no go. I also noticed on the Amazon.com website all the applications I paid for and obtained are not listed on there. I sent them an email so hopefully they can figure it out.
Dumb question, but you are using the correct amazon.com account right?

Hello,
I have a Qn, I am currently running MIUI on my EVO, and have downloaded a few apps through the Amazon App Store. If I wipe and flash another ROM on my EVO, do I lose all of those apps that were d/l or is it tied to my amazon.com account, and so I can restore them ?
I haven't done it, but they should be tied to your Amazon account. Also, if you use Titanium, it shouldn't have any problem restoring the apps, though I don't know if there will be any issues restoring the link between the app and the amazon market.
I've flashed back and forth between CM7 and a few other ROMs and wanted to keep my Angry Birds Rio save file. I just backed up both the Amazon App Store and Angry Birds Rio in Titanium Backup and restored them (app+data) when I got into my new ROM, and everything was fine. Haven't tried it with any paid apps but I imagine the same will be true.

It's tied to your account.
if you flash another rom, just download the amazon appstore and they should be waiting in there to re-download. if you back up the app and try to reinstall it without the amazon appstore app, it's a no go.
Thanks !!
Hello,
Thank you all for the replies, much appreciated.
I have looked around this site and the entirety of the world wide web and haven't found an answer for this. Maybe I looked two hard and missed the forest for the trees, but I don't know. So, here goes:
I have rooted my Kindle Fire and installed Google Play/Android Market. It works great and I am able to download free apps at will. When ever I try to purchase an app, however, I get the message "Error. An error occurred. Please try again." This goes for new apps purchased directly from the market and for apps which link to the market for purchase (Avengers Live Wallpaper, for example).
I am able to purchase apps using my computer and they download to my Kindle just fine, but that process won't work with the Avengers wallpaper, for example. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks.
Just a shot in the dark here...have never seen or heard of this one...
Did you set up a payment method in Google Wallet? If not, just go to your Gmail account on a PC, click More at the top and select Wallet. From there you can manage your payment method and enter a credit card number, etc., or update an expiration date, etc.
If you already did that, about the only thing I can think for you to try is to go into Settings | Apps | Google Play and Clear cache. If that doesn't work, I would go back in and Clear data (and cache if it has something in it again).
At least if you haven't seen it before, there is a good chance I didn't miss something about this problem.
1) My Google Wallet is set up and works fine from my computer. I even tried changing my credit card just to see if that helped; no such luck. Google Wallet is not the problem.
2) I have tried to clear the cache, tried clearing data and cache, and then restarted. Tried again and had the same error. Cleared everything again, tried again; no luck. Did it a third time, including another restart: still have the problem.
Thanks, but any other ideas out there?
Next question...and more shot in the dark stuff...
I take it you have not loaded a custom rom, so you grabbed Google Play (vendor.apk) and the Google Services Framework .apk and side loaded it to your KF. Before I loaded a custom rom, I did the same thing. Which version of the Google Framework did you load? I know that when I did it, I was careful to grab the GingerBread version, since the Amazon Stock KF OS is GB based. If you grabbed the ICS version, perhaps the payment processing is different between the two, but they are close enough that you can download free apps.
Perhaps you used the Kindle Fire Utility, so you may have no clue as to what I am talking about! I don't think KFU did the market install back then, I had to to it manually.
Unfortunately, I cannot remember if I actually bought a Google Android app and downloaded it when I was still stock. I did download paid apps, but they were processed on another device prior to that. If I had tried to pay and download, I might very well have gotten the same error as you.
Shots in the dark are still better than what I've got so far.
You are correct in that I have not installed a custom ROM and that I installed the Google stuff using the Kindle Fire Utility, (and that I have no idea about the differences). I would assume that the software used by the KFU developer was the GB based Google Services Framework (since you said the Fire is based on GB).
What's annoying is that I don't really buy many paid apps, and the few I do, I can buy from my PC. The main thing I want to do is get the unlocked Avengers Live Wallpaper (my 4 and 5-year old boys keep asking why they can't see Capt. America and Iron Man). To get the $.99 unlocked wallpaper, you have to link from the app (no direct paid download), so I can't get around this problem.
I appreciate the help and if you have any more shots in the dark, I'd love to hear them.
You can try to install this zip thru TWRP. This is what I have setup on my modified stock 6.3.1. This is the latest Google Play version.
I tired several more ideas, all to no avail. Thankfully, though, I reset my Kindle and started over and now it works.
Don't know what was wrong, but grateful for the help.
After going through quite the ordeal flashing back to stock TouchWiz and then back to CM10 again, I found that I had wiped my TitaniumBackup data (doh!!) and now I have to reinstall everything from the Play Store. I can do this just fine through the app, but not through the website. It shows the apps in my library and when I click "Install" if gives me the familiar dialog that says "This app will be downloaded to your device shortly". But then nothing happens. If I try to uninstall an app through the website it says "Uninstall request failed. Please try again later.".
Anyone have any idea what's going on or how to fix it?
Edit: Called Google support and they won't even look into it if your device is rooted...
Try clearing data for Google play store/services or logging out and logging back into the store?
Yep, tried that.
I went through the process of getting the amazon app store, which I have done with other phones, and it went through the whole download, but would not install because I had forgotten to allow non-Play store apps in settings. I corrected that and tried again, but now it will only begin the download and then fail. I have looked for running apps that I might clear, have restarted the phone and nothing works. Still can't install the AA Store. Any ideas?
Never mind. Figured it out. For some reason it would not allow any subsequent download attempts, but I was able to find the original download through Astro and install it from there. Odd but true.
Ok I have a rooted kindle fire HD and have Google play on it but recently it just stopped working I checked and I still have root access but every time I open Google play it asks me to choose a new or existing account I choose existing then it ask me to enter my email and password so I do then it will load for a couple of seconds and then say that something went wrong and it couldn't connect with the servers and if this problem persists to contact Google costumer service I've tried that and they didn't know I've tried using the online version of Google play and I can sign in but then when I try and download something I click install and it says your download will start shortly nut it never does I can't sign in on any of my apps that have to do with Google (YouTube, gmail, play, chrome) I've reset my kindle to factory defaults and that didn't fix it (before I reset it when I opened Google play since I had already signed in with 2 accounts it would ask me what account I wanted to use I would click one and the app would just crash) at one time before I had changed permissions on app and it did like it did before I reset it but I figured out what was wrong and never changed any app permissions again I even went on one of your post and read how to install Google play on rooted kindle fire HD and did exactly what it said but it didn't fix it I've tried deleting and redownloading the apks and that didn't work and I had some apps that I had froze even though they had nothing to do with Google play I unfoze them and I also use a battery saver app but it never seemed to bother it and it still doesn't work even with it off I also use a app called xbooster to make games run smoother and right now I'm just lost on what could be wrong with it the only thing I can think of is that I tried to use fake credit card for Google play so I could download games with in app purchases but it didn't accept it and another thing might be that on my Google play services app I accidentally clicked the verify apps button but I even went online after that and verified my account through my email PLEASE help I'm so confused

What is latest version of Google play services
I have no idea I don't have to worry about that since I'm not on amazon os. Just use a utility like kffa to reinstall Google. Or kindlefree, that also can do it.
