What Is a difference between HBOOT 1.01.0001 & HBOOT 1.01.0002??
both w'll be S-OFF by ‪AlphaRev X ?
Yea i guess, AlphaRev X will S-OFF all devices with HBOOT 1.x
edit: and if not i guess theres possible 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001 downgrade

For the second: there jis indeed a tutorial that explanced how to do it.
For the first: it is not certain ATM: Alpharev didn't know that there was a 1.01.0002 hboot but they do now, they have got the bootloader file to test with and they have already stated that they want to provide support for the very latest hboots, so that includes this one as well.
Anyway, if the manage to replace the 1.01.0001, I don't see why it should not be possible for the 0002 as well. I can't imagine that the differences between the two are that big.

Maybe alpharevX is based on a exploit and 0002 fixes it, anyway downgrading from 0002 to 0001 is easy!
These kind of exploits usually work on specific versions....
There is actually no difference between 0002 and 0001 they both are same just a version difference-
0001 is made for WWE ROMS and 0002 is made for regional specific ROM like India, France etc..
If you watch the alpha rev x video on the website. You see the phone hboot go from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001 when the patch wad applied.

That number on there hboot is something they can choose, as they make the hboot themself (and not hack it), they can do wathever they want with it. It is already said somewhere els: they will even make it 6.01.x so that htc has to make there next bootloader version higher than 6 to "update" the alpharev hboot to there own one using an OTA.

Hello,
I had an hardware problem with my Desire (problem with volume "-" key), so I made an echange.
On the new one, I'm already on orange rom with android 2.2 and hboot 0.93.000001.
Before I were in hboot 0.75, I was sure that I have an Amolex Desire and not an SLCD so it happened that after making him reflash orange rom (but at this moment, I didn't exchange my phone finally), I re downgrade the hboot to re put the 0.75 for re rooting it, because I was sure that it was to 0.75 by the past.
But I read that if I have an SLCD, i've to be careful and I'm afroid of SLCD Brick as described in aanother thread?
Do you advise me to root it with the last version of unrevocked without investigate to know with downgrade to 0.75 and knowing if it's an Amolex version?
Thanks
There is NO need to downgrade.. 0.93 is rootable from unrevoked use 3.21
And I think S-LCD brick is not due to root.. but it is due to wrong RUU flash.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Can Hboot 0.93 be replaced with alpharev Hboots and s-off like the previous Hboots?
Matt
Yes, it can.

I've always used the .76 Hboot since xHausx posted it last year.
I've got a replacement 2.16 Hboot Hardware version 004 2.3.3 model that I just used Revolution IO to S-off, root, and flash my custom rom.
Is it safe to replace the Rev. Hboot with the .76 Eng Hboot that I'm accustomed to and can I use the same PC36IMG that I originally used?
Thanks
No. You can not downgrade hboot since 2.02 was released. Sorry.

Actually, I think the fact that Revolutionary IO has given us S-off and a new Rev Bootloader would be enough to prove you wrong.
I used Rev IO to root my Evo3D and then went on to replace that bootloader with the Eng bootloader for that device without a problem.
I haven't heard mention of anyone doing this on the 4G and that is the reason I am asking.
I'm curious myself actually...anyone try it yet?...or do I have to be first?
I would say it is possible. Did you check out this thread? Maybe you can use the same methods for 2.16

First from the thread: Find out your hardware version: From the home screen, (on a sense based ROM) go to menu > settings > about phone > hardware information, if your phone is hw 004 don't even read this thread.
I'd heed this gigantic warning from that post:
If you're doing this on late hardware models 003/004 (with new partitions) then you should stop reading now and probably not do it. I'm not sure if the new recovery can fix up your stuff after you do this
If your phone falls into the "safe" catagory, then yes it is possible to downgrade using the method above. I even did it myself from 2.16.0001 -> 0.76. Requires a hexedit of the HBOOT header to trick the version information to allow the downgrade if you have the 2.16.0001 HBOOT.
worked for me changed header to 6.16.1002. included updated zip. i am on hw 0003. rename PC36IMG.zip thanks to thefredelement for guide and orig file
after that flash any hboot you want or you can put a new ruu and use s-on tool to unroot
how can i check my hboot version ?
thank you
i tried the volume down and power up and didn't bring anything up?

try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277266
just to be clear - this doesn't work
There is no S-OFF for HBOOT 1.02.0000 on the MT3GS.
In your travels you may have also found links to this encouraging post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1277266
I've tried this method, walked through it all, even tried some other things and generally wasted a lot of time...
So just to be clear for those searching and finding this wonderful link to a possible method... IT DOESN'T WORK.

If you got s=off, run older version of RUU file to downgrade software and hboot.
No my one s-on

You need xtc clip to make it S-off. No other way, you can't make a way, nobody is working on a way. You can't use unrevoked, alpharevx Jesus or Cthulhu to unlock it. XTC clip is the only way.
Also you can't downgrade hboot as there is no lower revision I don't think.
I've been looking into this myself since I have a T-Mobile branded Wildfire S with hboot 1.03 so I cant currently debrand it. The original batch of T-Mobile Wildfire S had a hboot of 0.90.
Before I splash some cash on an XTC Clip, I just want to check that I need one to S-Off the device so I can use RUU to debrand it.
(Unless anyone knows of a shop or someone who has one i can borrow in Central Scotland!)
My Wildfire S has 0.90, was easy to S-off using the clip, but by the looks of it some people are having issues with 1.03 getting the clip to work.
Edit: 0.90 and 1.03 should both work with the clip, seems the issue is with the dummy sim connection.
Guys, have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301388
The clip works, you must make sure the lead is pushed right the way down in the sin slot - failure to do that results in s-on.

You can now downgrade and gain adb root with S-ON, no need for XTC clip!
Check the tutorial

Go to htcdev website and do an unlock (s=off) using their tool. Your phone is supported there. But be aware, that you should have original stock firmware on your phone just for compatibility and prevent from bootloop.
Just to be clear, the unlock at the htcdev website does not give S-OFF
So after getting frustrated trying to fix things myself, I decided to just hand the phone over to a repairman. I chose the worst possible one.
So now I have a Desire with Android Freedom by MONI69 installed with all its Sense and bloatware. And 64MB free internal memory. And doing a factory-reset does nothing (so this ROM is essentially as-new-factory-condition).
Should I...
a) just flash Oxygen as one normally might?
b) use revolutionary first?
c) something else, for which there is an easy-to-follow guide online?
I'll be upgrading in about 5 months, so I don't need to be pushing it to be all it can be. Just functional with Oxygen.

Well you can flash Oxygen but it will not really fix your internal memory issues since you are on Stock HBoot. I'd S-off first change Hboot or Oxygenr2 then flash Oxygen.

Thanks. According to revolutionary.io, that tool only supports
HTC Desire (bravo) 0.93.0001, 1.02.0001
While I'm on 0.80.000
Is that a recipe for disaster? I can probably coast on what little memory I'll get back with Oxygen for 4-5 months.
Check unrevoked.com and see if it covers your hboot.. I bet someone here can verify this.
Or you can upgrade to the Official HTC Gingerbread RUU then use revolutionary.

Unless I missed something, unrevoked just roots but leaves S-ON. Unrevoked forever doesn't work with GSM Desires.
So upgrading to official HTC Gingerbread RUU will alter the HBOOT to something revolutionary-friendly?
My bad. Sorry. http://alpharev.nl/ should get you s-off and the correct hboot to flash.
