I also wanted to know how to downgrade the hboot 1.0.2. other way is that alpharev update version of its software and included in this a patch for the new version hboot.

try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277266

just to be clear - this doesn't work
There is no S-OFF for HBOOT 1.02.0000 on the MT3GS.
In your travels you may have also found links to this encouraging post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1277266
I've tried this method, walked through it all, even tried some other things and generally wasted a lot of time...
So just to be clear for those searching and finding this wonderful link to a possible method... IT DOESN'T WORK.
ESPRESSO PVT SHIP S-ON

How do I know if I have ENG or Radio S-Off??

I have to be honest, I followed a fairly technical guide to root my DHD and although I got the gist of it, I'm not sure if it left me with just ENG S-Off or Radio S-Off as well.
Is there a way to check for both?
Cheers.
You can check in bootloader it will say if you are eng off or not and if your cid is 1111111111 your radio s off too
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
- hold power button and select reboot then ok
- after hitting ok, wait 1 sec then press and hold power + vol down
- the phone will enter bootloader mode
at the very 1st line it should say ENG S-OFF
for RADIO S-OFF
- press vol down until you get more info
- if you see CID11111 that means you have RADIO S-OFF
else you don't
Excellent, thanks very much to both of you..........

Indeed that is radio s-off.
Hboot s-off looks like "ACE PVT ENG S-OFF"
The ENG stands for engineering.
Thanks guys. It's a bit confusing.
I'm gonna flash a new radio today. Do I only need radio s-off or do i need eng -s-off too?
If so, i guess you can apply it after you've radio s-off'ed?
Edit: So now I used the s-off easy one click tool.
Now I have ACE PVT ENG S-OFF
Do I still have the radio s-off?
As joliko stated you can have both. How does that work anyway?
Once you've entered the bootloader (Volume down + power on) if it says eng s-off you obviously have eng s-off you then select system info or something like that and it says the CID:xxxx. For example my phone which is now radio locked due to loading LeeDroid 1.3 based on the latest 1.72.405.3 ROM and not realising I needed to run Radio s-off says CID-VODAP021. What you want is CID:1111111 (not sure how many 1's but you get the idea). My advice after reading many pages it make absolutely sure you have radio s-off before running any updates or flashing any ROMs period. It is also highly reccomended to have eng s-off and also super user access (root access). From what I have read Radio s-off is a higher or more superior access to eng s-off. Having Radio s-off (otherwise known as Super CID) enables you to unlock any simlock and also load the latest HTC 1.72.405.3 ROM without loosing any root access or s-off.

actually you have more options with eng-s off as you can use fastboot commands. were if you just only had radio-s off you can't use fastboot but your right in the fact that you won't lose s-off were eng s-off is just the hboot been patched an so flashing new firmware with upgraded hboot you will lose the sercurity been off.
how do i know if I am ENG or Radio S-OFF
BOOTLOADER says:
VIVO PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.09.0000
RADIO - 3805.04.03.22_M
eMMC-boot
what does that mean?
I am planning to change my radio to be compatible with ARHD 1.1.2
radio s-off but no eng hboot
Sent out of my Free Candy Van.
Before, after I had used Easy Eng S-Off Tool, I had Ship S-Off. After that I found out I can't flash splash img using fast boot, I ran the tool again and I had now Eng S-Off.
But in the system info, the CID is not 111111.
Does that means I had lost my Radio S-Off?
I'm now on CyanogenMod7 RC-1 with Eng S-Off.
I just now tried this One click Radio S-OFF (windows recognized well my DHD in Device Manager), but it said "Unknown Error, probably connections" (usb cable works fine).
Edit: I restored the backed-up rooted 1.32 and do Radio S-Off. Things ran smooth. Now I have both Eng S-Off and CID 11111.
And by doing so I realized how big Sense Roms are. Clean backed-up rooted Sense 1.32 = 525MB. TB Fusion 3d (Sense 2.1 + 3.0) with some apps (not big): 765 MB. Clean MIUI 1.7.5 = 232 MB. CM7 RC1 with many apps = 457 MB.

[Q] Can I root my Wildfire S?

Hello, I've read so many different threads about rooting/unlocking the Wildfire S that I am kind of confused if I can root mine or no.
The HBOOT screen reads:
MARVEL PVT SHIP S-O RL

Also have I read that people with my version have to "skip the RUU step and move to the 2nd step", what is the 2nd step? Where should I start from? I have really read a lot of threads but I'm kind of new to this and I dont want to mess my device up. Thanks everyone.
as i know u must have hboot-1.08.0099 to go trough the htcdev.com method. what is your android ver?

That also updates my HBOOT? As much as I have read I have seen that updating the Android verison didn't help with the errors.
And I still would like to know what people mean when they talk about "skipping the 1st step (RUU) and move straight to 2nd" with my version?
If u update your android with RUU it can update anything ^^, i flashed my WFS to HTC EU 2.3.5 (as stock i got 0.90.0000 too, after flashing 1.08.0000), there's an tutorial how to do it with RUU.
About skipping, its to get rom_1 and rom_2 from Bootloader unlock Rom, to use it manualy, but i think its a bit dangerous to skip a some versions like from 0.90.0000 to just 1.08.0099. Also what brand your phone is? Orange. T-mobile. ?
I had 2.3.5 android on HBOOT 0.90.0000 (yea, HBOOT ver. didn't changed after new RUU,strange)
Just aplied the RUU from HTCdev.com (HTC EU 2.13.401.2), unlocked it through HTCdev manual, and then rooted using this TUT http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432074

Updating from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5 will not update your HBOOT. That's what the process at HTC dev is for. Try that and if that doesn't work, use the link I posted above.

Very useful information. This answers the OP's two questions:
1. Does the 2.3.5 RUU update HBOOT? NO.
2. Can some phones with HBOOT 0.90.0000 be unlocked and rooted? Yes.
Until the OP tries to unlock his phone, I don't know what else we can do to help him.
Well my bad
You just need actuall Android version to match the BT UNLOCK RUU.
I installed the 2.3.5 update and tried running the unlocker from HTCdev, i choosed the right version 2.13.401.2 and it says ERROR 190 Rom is not up to date, when i just updated it?
And when i try that trick from SD card, it says Main Version is older, update fail!
HBOOT still shows as 0.90
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445497 here, we are fighting it together. just Check if version is OK

can i downgrade hboot
can i do s off?
thanks a lot
with goldcard flash RUU and start rooting process again...
thanks for the help but unfortunately it does not work :-(
by saying goldcard rru flash, you mean to create an goldcard
and with the card inside, to install the official rru.
i tried rru 1.12 and 2.29 and they failed :-(
any ideas?
Read the Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794314 carefully and also the alpharev website http://alpharev.nl/. Hopefully u will get the answer.

No he won't. Alpharev or revolutionary don't support the new hboots, so you can't S-OFF, as far as I know there still isn't a way to downgrade, and you can't flash an older RUU since it won't let you. It was a stupid mistake of even using it in the first place.
so, there is no hope for me :-(

[Q] Bad repairman + bad ROM = what next?

So after getting frustrated trying to fix things myself, I decided to just hand the phone over to a repairman. I chose the worst possible one.
So now I have a Desire with Android Freedom by MONI69 installed with all its Sense and bloatware. And 64MB free internal memory. And doing a factory-reset does nothing (so this ROM is essentially as-new-factory-condition).
Should I...
a) just flash Oxygen as one normally might?
b) use revolutionary first?
c) something else, for which there is an easy-to-follow guide online?
I'll be upgrading in about 5 months, so I don't need to be pushing it to be all it can be. Just functional with Oxygen.

Well you can flash Oxygen but it will not really fix your internal memory issues since you are on Stock HBoot. I'd S-off first change Hboot or Oxygenr2 then flash Oxygen.

Thanks. According to revolutionary.io, that tool only supports
HTC Desire (bravo) 0.93.0001, 1.02.0001
While I'm on 0.80.000
Is that a recipe for disaster? I can probably coast on what little memory I'll get back with Oxygen for 4-5 months.
Check unrevoked.com and see if it covers your hboot.. I bet someone here can verify this.
Or you can upgrade to the Official HTC Gingerbread RUU then use revolutionary.

Unless I missed something, unrevoked just roots but leaves S-ON. Unrevoked forever doesn't work with GSM Desires.
So upgrading to official HTC Gingerbread RUU will alter the HBOOT to something revolutionary-friendly?
My bad. Sorry. http://alpharev.nl/ should get you s-off and the correct hboot to flash.

[Q] Will updating ruin my s-off potential

Hello,
I wanted to know if updating to the latest OTA (1.54.401.5) would damage the possibilities of an S-OFF in the future. I remember with the M7 you needed an older hboot version for s-off, and the software updates upgraded the hboot so you couldn't s-off.
My bootloader currently shows:
hboot - 3.16.0.0000
RADIO-1.14.2133156.UA24G
OpenDSP-v26.2.2.00538-M8974.0106
OS-1.12.401.17
Is it only the hboot that can potentially stop an s-off solution? And if so does the latest update change the hboot?

i think you will be save it will be a while befor s-off all roms are (1.54.401.5)
The hboot stays 3.16 on the 1.54 update
I am sure 1.54 will be fine, especially if the bootloader comes.
The risk generally comes when the team that do the exploit move on to other challenges that they don't come back to rework on a newer HBOOT.
