Really Such thing as 1900 mah battery for Desire Z? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hmm I was looking on my Amazon store and noticed a 1900 mah battery for the desire z. The description stated it was the same form factor as the original battery, I find this a bit hard to believe.
Without naming brands, I think this is technically impossible no matter the brand, is there reallly a way to cram an additional 600 mah of capacity into the same form factor as stock?
Thought appreciated!

well there are couples of 1800 mah battery flowing around, so i guess 100 extra shouldn't be too difficult

Mugen has been proven to be a fraud... I don't remember the exact website that had the research though

Yea I think they are all frauds. Can you confirm the 1800 are real?

Switch from other phones? Opinions?

Anyone come from other android devices and have opinions on performance, usability, signal, battery life, etc? I'm considering jumping ship from a nexus s. Primarily for the size and battery life, if it is as good as I hear.
Anyone comment on pros/cons vs other android devices you have owned?

Bump.........
Well, I just had 1 smartphone before the Defy, which was a Samsung Galaxy Spica - an Android device as well. It was a piece of ****, often crashing multiple times a day at random, problems with WiFi switching (sometimes causing a system crash) and mobile connectivity (no INet axx occasionally) as well as numerous other issues. These occured using the original firmware. Because of the instability it was basically unusable.
I'm really happy I switched to the Defy, because its a reliable phone, fast and you can actually play some games on it - another thing that was barely possible on the Spica.
Ill totally trade my defy for your nexus s xD

Defy has incredible battery life, sound, touch accuracy. Invincible exterior and nice contour design.
Good rom support and great signal.

Motorola has a locked bootloader. About the only thing bad about this phone.
Compared to the nexus S, slower processor and inferior graphics. I got it because it was incredibly cheap for the performance.

That seems a pretty fair summary.
Though I'd add that whilst the CPU/GPU does sit beneath the Nexus S's performance-wise, it's certainly not an under-powered handset.
The battery is really impressive - I get anywhere between 2 and 4 days, depending on how heavily I use it.
I came from an XT701 moto phone. The specs much lower on that phone and u notice the improved performance with the DEFY. one thing the XT701 was better was camera... very nice xenon!
But the DEFY is much better... much more internal memory, much faster, screen doesn't scratch, have dropped it numerous times... not a single scratch, I scratched up my old phone in 6 months.
I've also done the water testing at the pub and it wasfully submerged in a jug of water... and survived, many in the crowd VERY IMPRESSED!

The Motoblur launcher seems a little laggy. Switched to GoLauncher EX, and it's smooth as. LauncherPro is even smoother, but I prefer Go.
I literally JUST rooted and overclocked it to 1GHz. Pretty easy procedure and runs smoother. It's a really good phone, especially for the price point. Add in the fact that its waterproof and pretty much indestructible makes it awesome.
I am looking at getting this phone on my next contract upgrade, its either the defy or htc desire can anyone point me in the right direction ?

when overclocking, do you lose any battery life? Don't you lose the blur widgets on another launcher? What do the variety of roms out there provide?

I'm still on the standard ROM (2.1), just rooted with SuperOneClick, and using SetVsel to overclock. It's scaleable, and I've noticed better battery life when the phone is on standby (SetVsel settings are force 300MHz when screen off), but it does seem to drain more when used (vsel at 1.1GHz I have as the same as it was at stock 800MHz). Haven't noticed any instability.
I havn't played around with any ROMs yet, I just don't want to waste any more time

This is a good phone, but I'd go for the desire. The reason I got this is because I bought it sim-free, and the desire was about £350, whilst this was £270.
My first Android phone was the G1, then followed by Moto Cliq, HTC Hero, Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro and most recently Samsung Galaxy S.
I'm really glad I switched from the Samsung Galaxy S, even though the processor + graphics aren't as good I feel the Defy still performs much better. Maybe that's because the Defy has more RAM?
I've experienced very little lag, during times when you'd expect very heavy multi-tasking.
The downside is the locked bootloader and lack of firmware updates that Moto displays.
As for battery life, I've had decent results. Most older handsets I used to worry about switching down to 2G to extend the battery life.
Using Setvsel I usually have it clocked at 600mhz and undervolted and everything still runs really smooth.

They're both nice and in performance I think they're roughly equal except the Defy graphics are better and has better battery life.
The Desire will serve you better for Custom ROMs and firmware updates if that's you're main priority. Don't expect the Defy to get anything past FroYo.
As it looks like you're on T-mobile, I'd aim to go through retentions when it comes to upgrade time and back yourself a good deal.

Bearing in mind that you're posting in the Motorola Defy section, you're probably not going to get particularly unbiased advice...

Both have 512MB of RAM.

I posted here so i know what people who actually have the phonr think, not just people that judge it by its specs.

I haven't really reached a limit for the defy's utility yet at 1.1GHz oc, but what I can say for certain is that the LCD's is pretty midrange and it seems that screen on really chews down the battery life as well.
I've seen worse screens (cheaper nokia phones) and better screens (AMOLED, apple iphone and ipod touch screens). It's not really a problem unless you have two or three people trying to see what's going on though.

wanna place bets on how many...

verizon galaxy nexus threads about "bad battery life verizon nexus" get posted before 12am 12/16/11? i say more than the threads already started. and at least a couple threads where people have drained the battery twice before tomorrow is out.
I have a Thunderbolt. Won't hear any complaining from ME.

I'm fairly certain it comes with a 1835mAh battery.
Extended battery for me. I have LTE turned off on the rezound and get great battery life. LTE is awesome but it doesn't need to be on ALL day.
The extended battery should do the trick. Plus videos show it doesn't even add that much thickness because of the design. Plus its gotta be thinner then the rezound I'm using.

Is it going to be an OEM Extended batt?...any clue if they'll have them tomorrow?
Depending on how the oem performs, I may get extended as well.
It won't only be about bad battery life. I see scores of threads popping up with people complaining about every last little thing. It's almost like they're going out of their way to find something to complain about.
the carnage begins soon.
I'll bet on 36, even if I have to make that many threads to win...=)
Going to start my day at verizon, possibly stepping on my thunderbolt in front of the salespeople to let them know I mean business. Well, maybe not.

We could start side betting about how many of those "0MGZ [insert] SUXXX" threads are started in the dev section.

Looking into the S3.

Due for an upgrade in Jan of 2013. My current phone is a HTC Vivid running De-sensed ICS. I've been looking into this phone for alot of reasons.
Bigger screen, Faster CPU, More RAM. The like
My biggest thing is custom ROMS and battery life... I've heard mixed views on the battery life, And as far as custom ROMs go all of the people I've talked to aren't phone savvy, So talking to them about custom ROMs is out of the question
Its the best phone I've had there are lots of custom roms, plus samsung has sold 30 million how could you go wrong?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda premium
Well the S3 isn't the Fastest phone on Att. The One X+, Optimus G and GN2 take those awards. It is by far the must flexible.
It has a fantastic screen, good battery life, good dev support, good cpu and 2gb of ram.
Plus it is one of the few phones I have seen that have good extended batteries. If you don't like the battery life you can buy an Anker or Hyperion 4000 mah plus battery and notice a huge improvement in battery life. Most other phones the 3rd party batteries (excellent Mugen and Seidio) usually are garbage.
I like to think of the S3 as the Swiss Army Knife of phones right not. It's 6 months old and still nothing really can't do everything it can (except the GN2 which is being released today).

No sense in getting a quad core when 90% is optimized for dual core. This is the same argument raised 2.5 yrs ago when dual cores were first being introduced. The SIII has a good solid 2 yrs of life in it as far as specs go.
But... If you're due for upgrade in January, I would hold out until then to see what your options are at that time.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Excellent phone. Only "issues"; display is dim in bright sunlight (SGS3 is not only phone affected), and gets a little warm after some extended game playing. Everything else has been due to user error. There are just so many new roms to flash and try out! You won't be sorry.
im coming from an iphone 4S. I like the S3 way more, but i wish it wouldn't be so plasticity. It makes it look cheap compared to apple/ HTC phones

the S3 has a nice sized screen, not too small, not too big and excellent resolution. it has a good, solid processor and 2gb of ram. S3 users get very good dev support with a ton of different ROMs and tweaks. also, its a universal device so there are a ton of accessories as well. what else were you considering op? i would stay away from the HOXs because there is no removable battery meaning youre stuck with that battery life and no battery pulls lol.

I think 3000 mah is more than enough.
U may try if u want to..
If it is the same size it probably is fake. You can't increase capacity by that margin without increasing size or using a diff tech.
Better off getting a Xiomi battery bank which is known to use original HQ cells. Compare the 5200mAH bank size with this 4700mah one and you will understand why it is not possible.

[Q] What battery does your LG G4 have?

Hi all,
I've been a lurker for a while, but I have been coming here the past month or so, to decide between a S6 or LG G4. I picked the LG G4 from T-Mobile. I do notice several curious things... The phone was manufactured in 6/2015, it needed the T-Mobile system update.
I was mostly surprised by the last item, the battery I received was a 3000mAH battery, not the 2900mAH variety that T-Mobile was reported to use. Was the lower capacity battery only for pre-release samples or something? Has anyone got a larger capacity battery from T-Mobile as well?
I have the T-Mobile and 3,000ah
If you look at your battery closely it should say "min 2900mah" right below the actual battery capacity. Not all batteries match exactly it says it is. But it guaratees to top off at minimum capacity. I believe T-Mobile variant just went ahead adverised on minimum capacity just to be safe. I could be wrong though.

I did not notice that. It certainly does not look like the 2900mAH battery in the shots.
