U can use terminal emulator from the market. Type su hit enter, type a2sd cachepart hit enter or install a2sdgui from market
Edit. U can also hit a2sd help hit enter for a list of commands.
Theres also a2sd GUI in the marketplace if u don't like using terminal.
Thanks! I used terminal. I like terminal better. It worked. ... But i used a2sd cachesdreset
That made more sense to me.

I read that this phone suffers from the low on space warning. Is this like the Droid incredible memory problem?
This would suck because gameloft games cannot be moved to SD.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
well some GL games can be moved at least.. and the setInstallLocation trick works a bunch..
What is that trick? I've never heard of it.

First reboot phone and try.
now now young Padawan...
input commands via adb/terminal:
adb shell
pm setInstallLocation 2
reboot

Move your dalvik cache, too. It frees up loads of space! The thread is in the dev section I think

dalvik cache to /cache? that isn't recommended in fw 2.3.4 as the /cache has been limited to 100MB from previous 250MB

Dalvik Cache does not have to be moved to /cache. With link2sd or apps2sd the DC can be moved to a secondary partition.
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
oh, i see.. secondary partition like what?
I've got like 80+ apps and have 800MB+ Left..and gameloft installs most of their games to the SD card..every gameloft game I have is on the SD card(2GB)..

On your SD Card. Link2sd is best Imo, unlike apps2sd you can use the Fat fs as your second partition
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
TS, link2sd is the answer if you're too worried about our internal memory.. Mine is set to auto link.. I just created a 2gb partition on my 16gb.. You're phone must be rooted to use this app..
oh, so i see it's like creating another partition in the SD just like the way we create partitions on a hard drive when installing Win7.. hmm, i'll give this a shot when i get my 32gb this month...
I like space
I am currently running the going green rom, its sense 3.0 and also have dark tremors apps2sd. Im have a problem where my internal memory keeps getting lower and lower and lower. It was at 346mb free this morning and now at 296mb free. Ive cleaned cache, anyone else know what it could be or what I could do to keep the internal space from decreasing?

You could move dalvik cache and data or one or there other to your sdext but it could cause lag unless you have a fast sdcard but you can try it the command is in TE.
su
a2sd cachesd
a2sd datasd
You can get a list of commands by typing
su
a2sd help

Ok thanks ill give it a try

cant wait to try this out
Everytime I'm on a sense rom it runs super smooth for the like the first hour then i start getting extreme lag. By lag I mean I can barely go to the screen, when I use the keyboard it's really delayed and laggy. The only way to stop the lag is to wipe dalvik cache and cache. But that solves it temporarily. Is the partitioned card causing the lag? I'm using the stock sd card that came with my phone.

I think It's slow because your dalvik cache is on your partition. Use a2sd help in terminal to find the command to move it back to the cache partition. I'm blanking on that command.
Edit: type in
su
a2sd cachepartreset
This will move it back to the cache partition and clear it and reboot your phone.
If that doesn't work you can try
a2sd nocachereset
Which will move the dalvik cache to the internal storage.
my evo is aggressively runny

Will try later currently on miui so can't test because I don't use a2sd on it

So I decided to unpartition and reformat my card. I only get that lag I mentioned on sense roms. So I'm going to stick to miui for now. Most likely going to best buy later and getting a class 10 card
I actually looked to see what class my card was an its 8gb class 4 thought it would be good enough
Hello to all
I hope you can help me out because I'm at the point of throwing my wildfire S. ..
Here's the problem:
I recently unlocked my official procedure htcdev wildfire s
So far so ok.
Then I put a cooked rom "mod sense" seems to be the "MIX" from xda developers downloaded and installed both app2sd that link2sd.
Obviously, I blindly followed the guides that relate to the partitioning of the sd in ext 2 and ext 3.
Unfortunately, the phone's internal memory of 150MB is always, and now I am left with about 9mb.
How can a phone that cost the beauty (January 2012) of 250.00 € has an internal memory so limited?
Also, I set so that I link2sd linking directly to the sd what I download, but despite that sometimes I have trouble downloading app "heavy".
What can I do?
Hey there I used to face this problem as you, what you have to do is uninstall link2sd and open the terminal and right in it the following :
su
Then hit enter it will give you access as a super user then type:
a2sd cachesdreset
Now it will move all your dalvik-cache to the ext partition
And you will have around 90 mb free on your internal
Hit thanks if it helped you

Hi!!! Very Very thanx for your answer!
Any question 4 : "SU" = Super User ?
a2sd cachesdreset is an app that i will download from play store?
P.S.: Is this the only one method for increase internal memory?
su = super user and you dont need to download anything to execute that command, if you flash a rom with a2sd then you can use the command to increase internal memory

Welcome
su yes its a super user
For the a2sd cachesdreset its a command that you write in the terminal but to make it easier for you go to the play store and download an application called a2sdgui then open the application the second tab Dalvik just press on move it will reboot after it don't worry and it will take sometime to boot as well for the first time after that your internal memory is great and I think its the best way to increase internal memory

Hi! i've just do it!
And it's works!
Now i've 102mb free!!!! It's not possible increase it again?
:beer: glad that you did it you don't need to increase it again because all the cach will be on the sd now so it will be more than enough for you

all data will be installed in SD card Ex4 partition so no need to increase memory. No problem for u
2 questions
1) is A2SD usually brewed right into ROM's?
2) should I see my internal storage size actually increase if it is working, or does it just make it easier to move things to SD?
One of the reasons I rooted, like everyone else I would guess, is because of the relatively small internal storage on my EVO. I read somewhere that you could get the EVO to think that a 512meg partition on the SD card is actually more internal storage but have been unable to get google to tell me how to do it...

U should get more internal memory

1) the rom description will say if a2sd is baked in, or if the rom supports it. If a2sd isn't baked then download the zip (which I can post if you want), then flash the rom, then kernel, then gapps, then a2sd. It will reboot 3 times then check the internal memory.
2) it won't show any more internal memory, just that less is being used, as a2sd basically tells the phone where on the SD card to look to find the apps

I'm fairly certain I have it working. I using classic, which has it built in. Think so anyway. I installed an a2sd app and it shows the ext3 partition and that its being used. I suppose that when I start to approach the app load I had before I rooted the phone ill know.
Thanks for the answers guys.

Have you partitioned the SD? If not then you're not using a2sd. Let me know and if not I can help.....

Could do (in terminal emulator)
su
a2sd remove
If,after the phone reboots, you have less free internal memory, you know it worked. After verifying that, then go back to term emulator and
su
a2sd reinstall
