Density parameters? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I change my screen density with lcd density changer no problems. I recently started using font changer which has the ability to change the density of your fonts. It all worked fine till recently. Now font changer gives me an error that the density parameters are missing and to contact my firmware provider. The dev hasn't responded to my email. I'm using cm7 nightly. Is this a issue with the Rom, app, or something I did? Thanks in advance.

I don't believe that option on font changer is compatible with miui and cm7 and miui share a lot of the same code which could be the problem. You could reverting density back to 240 and then trying that option on font changer. fyi you can change screen density opening in text editor in build prop and changing from 240 to whatever density you want (not under 160) to make sure it is not a problem with the app.

Worse case scenario just re-flash CM7 without wiping and you can get back your default densitys without losing data.

Well let me ask you, will editing build prop, which I know nothing about, change the density of the whole screen or can I just change the text. That's all I want to do. Changing font sizes in spare parts in cm7 doesn't get me the results I want.

Editing the build prop resolution will change everything. The spare parts font size option only pertains to that app itself.

Cyanogen lcd density

I have set lcd density to 200 running cm rc2 and the icons look fuzzy (time looks fine though). Whats the problem?
Also, what other roms give me the option to change density?

Change the settings and try different numbers, you can use any rom and have lcd density, download it from the market.
I guess that wasnt clear - what roms are themed well enough to work with lower density?
Can someone attach lcd density here please.

Density question

Hey guys quick question. I just came off of MIUI and came back to Calkulin and I noticed a big difference in what I believe is the density. The phone looked a lot nicer on MIUI. What is the best way to change the density for this phone and what is the best setting? What programs or apps will get messed up as a result?
Look up "LCD Density Modder Pro" to manage screen density. I had issues with Market previously and my screen density was a non-standard 209. I personally use HDPI (240) as my density now with no issues.
240 is what comes stock on our phones..I'm currently running 200 and I love the smaller, neater look..going back to 240 makes it look like a kids toy to me..some apps won't look right..the dialer and calculator being some of them..I use exdialer and I really like it over stock

[Q] do any Density / resolution modifier app work?

I've tried the LCD Resolution app on my ICS 4.0.4 Arc S and the layout of the menus etc were pretty messed up. do any of those apps work well on the Arc S? and if so which one and whats a good dpi setting to use to improve the visual experience?
Sometimes you'll have to experiment with numbers 1-9 on the dpi scale. Example I'm at 240dpi, in order for my stuff to look correct I need to set the rest of my dpi on a 3. So example, my usual dpi will be 163dpi. If I do anything other than 3 besides 240 mg screen and information will be messed up.
Edit : Certain launchers will also make a difference as they may be specified to work at the original dpi or be flexible to a new dpi.
Edit2 : Sometimes certain roms don't like dpi, a few sense and ics roms here on the Droid Incredible have issues with the dpi, if I got below 200, sense and ics roms cause certain things to stretch or stay the same dpi even though its a new dpi. Example, sense lock screen gets smaller and does not fit the screen so its off. I try to avoid using dpi on sense because of this and many other reasons, AOSP is a great place to use dpi.

Because using dpi messes the market up I use LCD Density Modded Pro. It allows you to get items from the market your android can't normally find.

Changed DPI, circle case not working

Hey all,
I have changed the phones DPI to 540 using the textdroider app. The phone now looks perfect and I believe it is how it should have looked out of the box, but I now have a slight issue.....or two.
The quick circle case is now useless. The clock is way off center. Is there a way to fix this? Can I change the DPI for that app only?
Also, when I reboot the phone, Gapps is FC'ing. Would this be due to the DPI aswell, or something else? It only started after the DPI change.
Thanks.
Just realised that there is another thread about this. Is there an update about this though? In that thread, users could change the clock back, but not the animation.

Dialer to large with lower dpi

So i like to keep my screen dpi at a nice 420. Everything works fine except that the sense dialer is to big and covers contact names. Is there a way to fix this? I'm assuming I need to change the dpi of just this app, but I am unaware of any per app dpi mods for this phone.
I'm on leedroid if it matters
What app did you use to change the dpi? I'm on LeeDroid and used Texdroider to change the dpi down to 420 and my dialer is just fine.

Just straight build. Prop edit. Will try with the app
Update: its a bust, still to big. What dpi are you using?
Grab the xposed module "app settings", some of the settings it manages is per-app dpi, resolution, font scaling, the works. I use it to keep sense home, the themes app, and dialer all at stock 480
Yeah, I made a mistake. My Texdroider settings didn't stick at boot for some reason so I was back on the default 480dpi when I looked at my dialer. Set it to 420 and have the same issue that you do.

i forgot about xposed, but would really like to hold off on using it until it hits stable status (or at least auto updates with fixes)
