A friend of mine just sent me a message with a video attached and it says "download". I click on it and it says downloading then gives me a message saying "message not downloaded"
Are we not able to see video messages on CM7?
Should I use a different message app? Using the stock CM7 message app.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

For some reason my wife's EVO does not receive pics anymore. She gets the message and it says 'downloading'. Then she keeps getting a text saying unable to download image. She's using the native text app. I had her try Handcent and the same thing happened.
Any ideas?
Update prl and profile. Also you wont download mms over wifi.

What do you mean by this?
My question is: is it possible to make the stock messaging app when you receive a new message open up a window with all the message and reply back from there like the Iphone,GOsms, WINMO. If not then can someone make it possible. Currently it just notifies you on the top bar and shows the message. Just want to know if its possible. TIA

Hi I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this
I'm using handcent SMS and i love it the only problem i've got is when im sending a sms or getting a sms it just appears. In the stock sms when you are sending a sms it has a litte effect when youre sending it while the bubble is apearing
Knows anybody how to do that in handcent?

I would suppose this feature should be requested from the developers of Handcent. I also use it and have never used the stock messaging app, so I have never noticed that effect until I tried it just now. Pretty nice eye candy...
That eye candy makes it, with that it would be the ultimate sms app
I'm sure I changed this in handset by going into it's "settings -> notification settings" and playing around in there.

are your sure? because i looked into thos settings and didnt find anything
I might have mis-understood you a bit. What is it that's appearing when you are sending and receiving texts?
I've got mine setup so when I send a text I receive a confirmation message in the status bar that it was sent.
And when I receive a message it's setup so a popup appears on the screen, displaying the message itself and the option of a quick reply.

I mean when you are in the main app and you are sending a message to somebody in handcent the message if you click send the bubble just appears . In stock sms for example you se how the bubble appears and beeing transfered into the list.
Like ZeroXtreme said it just nice eye candy nothing ultra important
Ah ok. I did misunderstand you lol.
I haven't used stock sms for a long time. I will have to check now.

On my ol' HTC TP2, the text messages showed the time when they were sent and when they were received. Any android app that does a similar job?

i use handcent and you can longpress the message you sent and click on message details. it shows the date and time...not sure about the received times
Stock does.
GoSMS does as well. I like it because it also has a built in backup/restore function so when I see a new ROM in the Dev section and the flash-aholic in me makes me download and try it I have an easy way to put back the SMS messages which are otherwise lost in the flashing process...
Thanks for replying. I am using GoSMS and I can find out when a message was sent. This should an option you can turn on to display permanently. Stock doesn't seem to do it, unless I am not seeing an option somewhere.

I am running stock rooted with a locked bootloader.
When I use voice search and use the command 'note to self', voice search crashes when I send the message.
The message does not get sent, and I get the error message "Unfortunately, Voice Search has stopped."
Can anyone else replicate this error?
Can anyone recommend a fix?
Thank you for any help.
Sorry. Wrong thread. My post that is.
