MyBackup Pro - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When trying to restore my settings with MyBackup Pro it stops when getting to my SMS with the message: restore sms failed: error code 14: unable to open database file.
All my other settings restore fine, but SMS only get half way through before I get this error.
Any suggestions?

I had the same issue running CM. S-OFF seemed to resolve it, just flashed and tested it now.

Titanium Pro error: could not acquire root

Anyone have Titanium Backup (Pro) stop working? [error: could not acquire root..].
I've cleared Titanium cache and data, completely uninstalled and re-installed.
Checked SU but Titanium doesn't show as allowed and log shows denied.
Updated su binaries. Still nothing.
Other root apps work and have no issues (Mobile Odin, Adaway etc..)
Any ideas?
Edit solved:
Flashing a boot animation is what must have killed it because it did it again after flashing boot animation.

no more root access

Hi all,
on my FP1 (nice phone!) I'm no more abled to have root access. For example, ES file explorer does't go into Root Explorer mode, DiskUsage does't show Root required folders (it shows: java.lang.RuntimeException: Error: no more data message). In Superuser log:
Superuser --> Enable;
Titanium backup --> Deny;
and no more.
FairphoneOS doesn't ask me (as it should) about app su request: no dialog appair.
If I try to issue su command in terminal I get "Permisson denied" message.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you a lot
Piero
Did you by any chance activate the "deceleration needed" (or something like that) setting in the superuser settings. It is the second checkbox from above.
If it is activated and the app does not declare that it needs superuser rights it won't get any.

Sent from my FP1 using xda app-developers app
Root my FairPhone
I also have a FairPhone.
Cannot startup Titanium. Should I, and if so how, root my phone.
Please help.
In your feedback, please keep it simple as I am not a programmer
Thank you in advance

Hi Hyst,
I'm currently having similar problems. I tried looking in the superuser settings and trying what you suggested, but no luck unfortunately.
Here is a summary of how I got to this stage:
I have recently being trying to transfer my data from my old Samsung Galaxy S4 to my FP1, using Titanium Backup. FP1 is running stock android, not the FP OS.
Unfortunately this caused issues when I tried to restore my apps and settings using Titanium Backup, resulting in the FP hanging when it got to the lock screen. I suspect this may be because of some Samsung settings that were not compatible. I did get a error message saying one of the settings files had not worked properly, but I couldn't find a way of identifying which one. I then restarted the phone as prompted by Titanium Backup, and it wouldn't get past the lock screen.
Due the phone hanging, I had to do a hard reset of the phone, following the instructions on the FP website. However, when I now run Titanium Backup it reports that it could not acquire root privileges when attempting to use "...the "/system/bin/su" command"
I've tried reinstalling both the original FP OS and stock android from the SD card, but I get an 'installation aborted' error message. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

"Fix Permissions" causing bootloop Please help!

D855 running blisspop 2.2 (5.0.1)
As above, I had an issue with my G3 losing the home button at the bottom after 5 mins of switching on so I decided to Fix permissions in TWRP
My G3 is stuck in the blisspop boot animation and stupidly I don't have a nandroid backup :crying: . I have then tried to reboot into TWRP and make a nadroid backup of the bootlooping rom so I could try to get data off it, I'm mainly trying to get my SMS and call history data off the bootlooping rom as all my pictures e.c.t are still on the phone. I have dirty flashed the same version of Blisspop 2.2 I had running but no apps or data show up.
I have tried to used Nandroid manager to try getting the SMS and call log off the old rom, but It says file not found.
Can someone please help me, I just want to get my SMS's off the phone
You could try using adb shell commands to pull the sms and mms messages from your phone. See if the commands from this thread are of any help...

I tried doing so, however I seem to have not to have "/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db" file or the "com.android.providers.telephony" folder in general
I also checked this in TWRP file manager and I don't have the folder let alone the file, it seems other com.android folders are missing too such as dialer, cell broadcast receiver, nfc e.c.t
I've dirtyflashed the same version of the ROM again to see if this also had files missing, however this has "/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db" and other folders present when I check in TWRP's file explorer and I can use adb pull to get the mmssms file off from the new rom.
Did "Fixing permissions" really cause me to lose all these com.android files?
