Hello!
Everything is in the title!
I've dismantled my HTC Touch Pro II in order to change my broken LCD (but still functionning). I've changed the LCD panel AND the touchscreen stuck all together. But it seems not OK, as there's nothing on the screen, the touch panel doesn't respond. I know everything else is OK as I'm able to connect to my phone using MyMobiler...
First, I reassembled it, but the screens (LCD+touch panel) weren't responding, so I dismantled it again. Main board on my left, bezel+LCD+touch panel on my right...
Before assemblying it again, I'd like to know if the "rubber tape" with metal inside (used to fix flex cable ribbons) is absolutly needed for the screens to work or not?
I hope you'll have clues for me.

Hi,
after i managed to fix the issues of my aria (with your help, thanks) i figured out that the touch screen isn't fully responding to my fingers.
at normal - all of the screen responds. except of two mm of the perimeter, and the nav keys.
if i push the top of the screen, the nav keys start working, but the screen isn't responding at all.
so i guess it is little loose.
what can i do to fix it back to normal functioning state?
thanks.
im just going to take a long shot and say taht the digitizer has been replaced before , and the adhesive used was too thick
try installing this

Hello. I have a problem with the backlight of my xperia S. Today I disassembled the phone because of a problem with the sim card slot, but then the backlight of display and the bottom transparent plastic stopped working. I see that the display is showing something and touch is working fine, but no light. Everything seems to be plugged correctly. Please help asap..

just removing the lcd flex cable doesnt solve the problem..do the process in three steps
step1: remove battery pin(inbuilt battery) or remove battery..then press the power button for 5seconds..and then putin the battery..
step2:remove the lcd flex cable and the touch equiliser pin also..remove the battery pin(if inbuilt battery)..or simply remove battery..do every thing in the same process..dont jumble..after doing that..again press the power button for 5 seconds again..and putin the battery
step3:now assemble the entire mobile again with screws..because there are certain connections with motherboard and screen which will come in contact only after placing them tightly with screws
now poweron the mobile..this time it works..
the main reason is the failure of inductor component on the mother board(cant tell the accurate component name)..

Nope it doesn't worked..
100% my very same problem
I can confirm this problem was fixed by this

But for god's sake, be careful with tinning. A drop too much and you have a shortcut.
EDIT: intriguingly, I noticed I have another close up photo of basically the same area (please, don't bother with oxidation trails).

Dear XDA members,
I have a Desire HD with a cracked screen.
I replaced the whole screen+ digitizer (the big unit)
After replacing the screen is working, the touchscreen is unresponsive.
working:
- touchbutton lights
- sd card
- my phone ring when inc call
- rom boots nice
Did fullwipe and reinstall rom - not worked
Any way of calibrating the screen?
Or can someone point me to the connection of the touchscreen?
(so i know wich one the check)
Thanks in advance!

did u assembly touch screen and digitizer or was it assembled from the shop (digitizer and the touch screen). if u assembled it by urself then you have broken it and if it was assembled from the shop thn the assembly was faulty.
Seems as if the digitizer is not functioning. Check to see if its connections are properly placed.
I replaced the digitizer on my play r800a the other day and my phone isn't ghosting anymore BUT now the touch isn't working at all. Does that mean I need a replacement flex cable? when I push the slider like 2 mm forward the backlight turns off any further forward or back it turns back on....
The lcd is fine and the screen correctly changes from portrait to landscape and the touchpad circle things work fine, so does the buttons including the home, search etc...
I am correct to assume I need a new flex cable?
Hello, so...
I got this phone and because of broken screen Ive changed the glass part with digitizer. Now the digitizer is acting... weird. Like the screen is divided horizontaly and the upper part is changed with the bottom one and its also mirrored. When I pres down left corner, the dot of touch appears at the top right etc. Is this because I somehow f**ked up the flex cabels or can this be recalebrated? Ive tried to disassemble and connect it again and also resetting the phone to default and then flashing whole rom again but nothing helped. Any ideas?
