Xperia S backlight problem - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hello. I have a problem with the backlight of my xperia S. Today I disassembled the phone because of a problem with the sim card slot, but then the backlight of display and the bottom transparent plastic stopped working. I see that the display is showing something and touch is working fine, but no light. Everything seems to be plugged correctly. Please help asap..

just removing the lcd flex cable doesnt solve the problem..do the process in three steps
step1: remove battery pin(inbuilt battery) or remove battery..then press the power button for 5seconds..and then putin the battery..
step2:remove the lcd flex cable and the touch equiliser pin also..remove the battery pin(if inbuilt battery)..or simply remove battery..do every thing in the same process..dont jumble..after doing that..again press the power button for 5 seconds again..and putin the battery
step3:now assemble the entire mobile again with screws..because there are certain connections with motherboard and screen which will come in contact only after placing them tightly with screws
now poweron the mobile..this time it works..
the main reason is the failure of inductor component on the mother board(cant tell the accurate component name)..

Nope it doesn't worked..

100% my very same problem
I can confirm this problem was fixed by this
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f261/xperia-s-lt26i-no-light-solution-1655166/
But for god's sake, be careful with tinning. A drop too much and you have a shortcut.
EDIT: intriguingly, I noticed I have another close up photo of basically the same area (please, don't bother with oxidation trails).

[Q] Hardware question. See no information on display.

After I have changed the broken display on DHD for the new set: Display + Digitizer, the new display doesn't work.
When I press start the vibro works only for seconds, and then I hear the system boot soud, but there aren't any information on the display, I can see only the backlight.
What is the problem?

I dont know too much about the hardware side of phones, but I know a lot about computers so I may be of some help lol
How many wires/contacts are there between the display and any external components such as the motherboard?
If only one, make sure it is plugged in correctly, the right way round, and plugged in all the way.
If there are more than one, make sure that if they have the same connector that you havent got them mixed up, such as the one that controls what displays and the one that supplies power.
This is all I can help with, sorry.
Thanks!
There is only one contact between the display and the motherboard.
I have connected the old broken display... got the same result - no info on the display. ((

Help: G3 doesn't power on - Only blue/green notification light blinks :(

The G3 just dropped down on the floor with the circle case. Then It was working some minutes apparently with no problem, until I myself turn the phone off and restart it. Then the device just didn't turn on. The only thing is that the screen is black and the led notification blinking green and blue
when i connect the charger, the red led blinks once and then disappears, then after 30 seconds the red led appears which apparently shows that the phone is charging the battery. Also When I connect the phone to the PC, a sound of connection is heard from PC but the PC doesn't complete the device recognition process as no new device is found.
I tried to make a hard reset, but nothing happens when I press the power and volume down keys. Tried some other tricks with the battery and the hard keys on the phone but no result at all, as the same story just repeats. Does anybody have a solution for the problem? This devise is the only android device I have

Did you do anything else after/during the time that the phone was off? And is there no possibility that you cracked the LCD digitizer? I mean it might sound strange but this is what I had with my old phone. I dropped it, nothing serious but then I put it in my pocket and upon taking it out I noticed the screen not turning on. As stated above, my digitizer was broken and multiple people told me that the digitizer had a small crack which I didn't notice, then when I put it in my pocket I put too much pressure on the digitizer cracking it. The LED-light did work though, and this sounds very similar so my advise going to the store and asking wether they know what the problem might be.
(Hopefully this was helpfull hehe)

If you Don't see the LG splash screen when pressing the power button it seems like a screen or digitizer problem for sure.
BUT;
after you try turning it "on" let it sit a few minutes and see if you can call your self or send a text to see if it makes noise vibrates etc. to confirm a screen problem.
OR
Also you can try putting it into download mode.
Battery pull (don't turn on)
plug USB into phone but not computer
Hold volume down AND then plug usb into computer
if this comes up to a pic of something on the phone it will be software related. to get out of this mode you can do a battery pull.
Remember to always read up on topics and things you are doing. There are guides here on XDA to help you out.
Hope you get your phone working

I didn't do anything special after/during the time the phone was off. I checked the screen very carefully under a lamp. No particular sign of crack. Thank you very much for sharing ur experience.:good:

I tried to put it into download mode, but no result at all as no connection could also be made between the phone and PC. Moreover, I tried to make a text/call, but nothing is received by the phone. Thank you very much for ur suggestions.

Seems like the drop damaged the memory and the phone can't reload it, you will have to bring it in

Yeah that's plausible ! I'd bring it in too
Hope you fix your phone fast
Yeah... Probably it's a hardware problem. Someone who checked the phone in order to fix it, said that the problem had been with the device board. Even though I was satisfied with the phone, I have found out that the G3 is a sensitive device, as the height of the table from which it dropped down wasn't too much. So always take care of your G3 phone.

US Cellular-G4-Replaced screen, turns on but black screen.

I replaced my screen and digitizer(without frame). Everything went smooth and seamlessly but when I turn the phone on, the LED lights like normal, it vibrates like normal, but there is nothing on the screen (acts like the screen isn't even installed?) After the phone boots I can hit the volume buttons and it interacts with my actions (sound and vibration). I got the assembly thru Fixez.com. just looking for general knowledge, answers or any other circumstances like that. Thank you!
Maybe cable not completely inserted into connector? Take it apart again, use a pencil eraser to lightly clean the cable contacts and reinsert. If you can, try to power the phone while its apart to see if it lights up. If still doesn't work, I'd contact the seller about a possible replacement.
I have tried the eraser idea yet but I taken it apart a couple time to double check the connections and everything. Can't have it replaced or sent back either. Already looked into that. I know im out the money for that screen if it never works but im just trying to understand why it wouldn't work.
Got the phone working and I'm using it right now. Ended up getting a screen and frame assembly. So now the only issue I'm finding is that it doesn't like to turn on when the room is dark. I checked the sensors and they are all working except the proximity sensor says "Near" all the time.

LG G3 D850 Power Button not working

Hi all,
My wife's G3 power button isn't working. The volume buttons are though which I find a bit odd. In order to turn on the phone you have to plug it in and unplug it during the battery load process to turn it on. I saw a couple other similar threads on this but the lg pc suite didn't work
I did open up the phone and replace the screen. I have also cleaned the contacts and used my power button (I have a G3 as well) to try to fix hers and it didn't work which seems like it could be a software issue or something that isn't connected properly inside the phone itself.
Any ideas?
Hardware
I think you have similar problem like I have . If you opened the phone in that area where the camera is(the front camera flex cable), there are small , very small parts , in my case I wasn't carefuly and one is now missing when I tried to take of the front camera ,I broke one just one little piece(very little) AND THE VOLUME DOWN is not working anymore .Take a look if you have all that parts. And if you are also missing one that's the similar damage. Micro soldering could help in your case. Sorry for my english.

Power on with no LCD..

hi, my brother gave me a old z5 premium to troubleshoot. It has no lcd (broken screen) and wants to me add one. When i connect to charge, the phone doesnt vibrate or make any noise. my dumb question is, does this phone need an LCD to turn on? i tried button combination but it does nothing. PC doesnt recognized it. it was working fine right before screen broke. I just dont want to buy a replacement and new battery then turns out its completely dead. even tried the button inside the tray to see if it reboots, but nothing..
I'm not completely sure, but mine was still booting up with a broken display and with no display at all. Are you sure the battery isn't completely dead (over-discharged)? That can even prevent the phone from charging while it's off. See what happens when you check it with a multimeter.
