Hi,
after i managed to fix the issues of my aria (with your help, thanks) i figured out that the touch screen isn't fully responding to my fingers.
at normal - all of the screen responds. except of two mm of the perimeter, and the nav keys.
if i push the top of the screen, the nav keys start working, but the screen isn't responding at all.
so i guess it is little loose.
what can i do to fix it back to normal functioning state?
thanks.
im just going to take a long shot and say taht the digitizer has been replaced before , and the adhesive used was too thick
try installing this

here is my problem..
at first.. my touch screen starts to act weird.. the pointer does not go to its proper place. =(... tried calibrating it but it does not work
then... the touch screen does not work.. i have to hold it in a certain way for it to work..
then.. it shows a white screen, and sometimes.. its looks fuzzy but i can hold it weirdly like pressing the side of the screen really hard so that it would come back... and then it works again but when I slide the keyboard... the same problem would occur and would stay that way for 5 minutes..
then.. the touch screen does not work at all
then.. the screen is white and does not come back
NOW!!! HOW CAN I FIX IT.. Is there a way or I can call my BA garbage.. but i really really want it to be fixed
you can download the htc service manual from my signature. it contains all the information necessary for an attempt to fix hardware issues. you should check the flex cable connections, check for dirt and anything that puts pressure on the display or its connections.
thanks.. =D
Hello!
Everything is in the title!
I've dismantled my HTC Touch Pro II in order to change my broken LCD (but still functionning). I've changed the LCD panel AND the touchscreen stuck all together. But it seems not OK, as there's nothing on the screen, the touch panel doesn't respond. I know everything else is OK as I'm able to connect to my phone using MyMobiler...
First, I reassembled it, but the screens (LCD+touch panel) weren't responding, so I dismantled it again. Main board on my left, bezel+LCD+touch panel on my right...
Before assemblying it again, I'd like to know if the "rubber tape" with metal inside (used to fix flex cable ribbons) is absolutly needed for the screens to work or not?
I hope you'll have clues for me.
So... I replaced my perfectly working glass screen the other day, just to change the color
All went well it seemed.
But now, the touch stops responding completely at random intervals. Sometimes after a minute, sometimes after an hour.
All i have to do to get the touch back is lock and unlock.
I updated my rom, no go. I cleared cache and dalvik, no go.
Any ideas? :silly: thanks
I went to developer tools and enabled the option that lets me see the touches...
it seems when my phone stops doing the touches, its because there are like 8 different locations on the screen that are being "touched".
I messed something up obviously... but it seems to go away when the touches are reinitialized...
Is there an app out there that will automatically refresh the touches automatically? That would fix my issues...
I just now found out how to replicate the issue on command!
If i press down hard on the screen, it stops responding to my touch commands.
at least now i know how NOT to get stuck... just have to hold it gently
I think the reason was because i didn't put enough glue on the glass screen, thus its too close to the digitizer... and when i touch too hard the glass touches the digitizer and causes it to go all outta whack. mebbe...
i'ma put more glue on it and find out though.
thanks for all of your help so far though, you guys have been a great audience.
I did the exact same thing and have the same results. If I don't press too hard it works. Any solution would be nice
I was having the random shutdowns on my Moto360 Gen 1. I replaced the battery and the shutdowns are gone. Problem now, the bottom half of the screen is unresponsive to touch. Swiping from the Top, Left, and Right work fine. Anything from the bottom half doesn't work or respond to touch. What did I screw up? Any kind of touch sreen Calibration to fix or did I pinch something on one of the ribbon cables? Any help appreciated. Thank you
Have you managed to fix it? My watch is presenting the same problem
It started with it being hard to press 1,q etc keys on keyboard. When I enter developer settings and enable pointer location ,I realise it doesn't register at least hundred pixels on entire left and right sides of screen. Quite annoying. My gf phone is slowly going that way also.. any ideas apart from replace screen or phone? Also around entire edges of phone it looks like screen is delaminating,i.e. a lines and checkers pattern shows....
I have the same problem. It started with a crack, when the phone was bent too much (see picture).
But the unresponsive left edge started later, after I had fixed the phone in a car cradle. Probably the cradle held the phone too hard.
I noticed it because I was using gesture navigation and I couldn't use the back gesture when swiping from the left side. The right side still works in general, but in some apps I have a problem on the top right edge with the 3 button menu button.
You can check your touchscreen in the hardware test menu (*#*#6484#*#*) with test 8 Touchpanel edge.
Also test 7 ITO fails for my device.
Sorry, I have no advice for your problem.
My personal solution for this problem is: I will dump this device, which had hardware problems right from the start (like bluetooth disturbing WLAN) and lots of software bugs, which Xiaomi is not willing to fix. Instead a Pixel 4a will be my daily driver in a few weeks.
My problems also started after bending the entire phone.. was looking at replacement lcd and frames but in reviews they seem to not have proximity sensor..maybe just get a new phone and have this as backup..
