Has anyone had any experience or issues with the capacitive touch keys not lighting up? I'm on CM7 and none of the bottom 4 keys light up anymore. They all work, they just don't light up. Not sure when I last remember them working, but now I can't figure out what it is that could have caused it.
CM7 stable, no themes, CPU at 245/1113 OnDemand
Thanks
Touchscreen keys? You sure you aren't talking about the physical keyboard?

No, I'm talking about the Home, Back, Menu & Search keys on the bottom of the screen. Maybe I should have called them the buttons on the bottom of the screen ??
Its a problem that happens with cm some times. Wipe the cache and see if that helps.

Is it just me or are the three bottom touch screen buttons finnicky not always responsive on the first click? Like when you're clicking it one of the touch buttons quickly, you have to wait a second then touch the button again for a response. Also your thumb has to be right on the button, can't touch corners etc.
Do you guys find you often have to repress one of the touch buttons on the bottom?
Nope. Maybe you're missing the button.

Yes - especially when it is in my car dock.
My HTC Evo 4G has some kind of issue where the screen would not register touch if you laid it on a table or something but it worked fine if you held it in your hand. They were able to fix this with a software update (I have no idea how).
The Nexus feels like the same kind of issue - the soft buttons work ok if I'm holding it but on the table they don't seem to register a push well.
i noticed this too,
BUT, i also noticed that you have to pretty much touch the actual icon itself.
i tried tapping in-between the keys and noticed that it didn't do anything.
so no worries man, noting is wrong with your phone.
fwiw i have a wet screen protector on, so that might attribute to it.

As do I.
Anyone else noticing this 'issue'?

Same issue here, I'm wondering if they dialed down sensitivity too much to avoid accidental presses while typing? I think it should only reduce sensitivity while the keyboard is up, not always.
Hope they increase the sensitivity a bit
i've seen stuff like this on other phones like my Samsung Wave S8500, some areas of the touchscreen don't respond properly unless part of you is touching the phone case, probably caused by the way capacitive touchscreens work?

I just find the multi task button is a bit laggy, but this could be to do with redrawing the app images that's about it.

After hitting the power button which opens up the lock screen with time and carrier name, I can pull down on the notification bar. However, doing so only lights up two of the three soft keys on the button. The return and home key lights up, but the right one which toggles selection between apps isn't lit. This open happens when its on the lock screen menu, not that it's really irritating.
I'm on the gsm 4.0.4 yakju canadian from Telus, flashed with franco kernel. Anyone else having this glitch? Cheers!
I have the same on CM9 latest nightly, so it seems to be a feature and not a glitch to me.
It's a feature.
Can't really say its a glitch, but they've left the app switch to a more customizable lock screen.

It's by design. There wouldn't be much of a point to a lock screen if just anyone could pick up your locked phone, see what apps you've recently used, and be able to navigate to them with no effort.

After having a week with the Note 2, I have found a rather annoying problem with the screen and was wondering if anyone else has the same issue.
The problem involves the portion of the screen where the "L" key is. Sometimes it triggers on touch but most of the time it doesn't. To test, all you have to do is mash on the "L" key repeatedly. Mash all over the region of the key and if your key doesn't respond at time, then you have the same issue as me. The funny part is, the region to the right of the key works fine. I can mash all I want and the key registers.
I have attached an image that highlights in green of the area I have having issues with. I also tested this by turning the phone to landscape and mashing the key that falls into the green area. I do have a screen protector but I removed it and the problem is still there.
I am currently using SwiftKey 3 but this issue happens on the Samsung and Swype keyboards as well.
I'm going to call ATT and ask for an exchange.
im not getting that

I had that issue...but it was because I had button savior installed...and I think it was looking for that edge swipe gesture. anyhow I uninstalled button savior and all is well.
Okay, so I've successfully managed to disable my capacitive buttons on my Note 2, using this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34247225) tutorial right here. No problems there, but it seems that they are not completely disabled.
After I disabled the capacitive buttons, I have noticed that the area where the capacitive buttons are still function! Let me explain. The capacitive buttons does not do anything, but seems to have a functional capacitivity (correct word?). Example: When I'm watching a video on the youtube app and I touch the disabled capacitive buttons, they seem to wake up the phone as if I was tapping on the screen. Also in certain apps, they seem to actually function as if I was touching somewhere on the screen. In the game "Nemo's Reef" (don't ask), when I'm touching the disabled capacitive buttons it takes me to the menu in the game and does several other things like clicking in the menu, going back, moving the screen etc.
It's not a big problem, but it is annoying and do show that the capacitive buttons are not completely disabled - as promised in the tutorial. The capacitive buttons are disabled, but the capacitive area is still functional, and (in some apps) seem to act as if I were tapping certain areas on the screen.
My question: Is there a way to completely disable the capacitive area where the capacitive buttons are?
I hope this was interesting, and it would be a pleasure if somebody could look into this and/or give me an answer.
Has anyone had a problem with the capacitive buttons not lighting up? The back button (on the right) does not light up at all anymore, and the recents button on the left only comes on if I am scrolling on the screen. Both buttons work, just not always lighting up
I'm on my second Note 4 and neither one have I had any issue with them lighting up.
Not sure if this will fix or help, but in settings->display the option "touch key light duration" will allow you to choose how the capacitive buttons light up. Maybe check that setting out and see if you can get anything to change in your situation. Good luck!
