Hello all. I'm new to this and I have to say that the work you guys do here is nothing short of amazing!
I installed the cmod 7 rom on my evo and found this dark horse theme. I would love to have it but I cant find instructions on how to install it. I downloaded the file onto my pc then moved it to my phone sd. Then I went to recovery and tried to install the zip but it showed up as a file with several other files inside that wouldnt allow me to install.
Can anyone please point me in the right driection to find this? Thanks again for all that you guys do!
did you unzip the zip? if so, that's the problem.
welcome to the root world btw.
also, check out the themes in my signature. kfunk is part of modnation, so they're similar to darkhorse.

Hi all. I want to add themes apps to my touch pro2. Ive looked into the fourm and there is nothing for people who are starting from scratch. Where and how do I add all these files and everything.
Dont reply with try the surch button as I have for the past 2 days and am lost on it all.
There should be a sticky for people like us who are all new to this. So help me and the others people like me
Have you tried looking at the Rhodium themes forum? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=491). There are several themes made by users on the first page (I'm one of them). If you look over at the Blackstone themes forum, you will find more. Almost all of these can be installed via cab file.
and what is cab file?
just draged the ROMeOSĀ³ RHODIUM TRANSFORMATION PREVIEW PACK and had 2 files and but both of them on my phone. Turned it off and on and nothing.
Went in to start and add other programs and it couldnt find the two I put on my phone.
So as I said there is nothing on saying what to do with these files, where they are, where they go and everything. Really badly layed out

funny......... when you add the cab files to your phone or memory card you need to install them using file explorer. just dragging them across doesn't install them...
ok... so why dont people say that in the first place rather than theres the files enjoy there is no step by step on what files to downloader where to put them and everything. So now Im going to try this file explorer. where ever that is on here.
More searching now
thanks for your help just wish other put it up in the frist place for us noobs. Shame my blackberry was so easy on moding

no! file explorer is already installed on your phone. it's in programs or click start and should be one of your shortcuts. no searching............ relax as people assume that everyone knows the basics. not done intentional! open file explorer and navigate to where you put the 2 files. click on them and should start installing!
hurrrrray its working now thank you ! ! !

It couldn't hurt if you checked out this link:

Coolsmartphone learnt me all the basics when I first ventured out into the world of WinMo in 2004. I'm sure there are a lot more of these sites, they won't go much into detail on your specific device, but they will help you understand what's underneath Touchflo etc. It will probably save you a lot of frustration...
And I'm sure there's a manual that came with the phone too that will do a lot of explaining if you give it a try.
funny enough I saw that site didnt help much and Ive never seen in the "manual" of how your not use there installed software and use other peoples and how to do it.
Ok, what do you think about this one: New to a PocketPC?

Nvm, clicked the wrong thread.
just down loaded sdk and have no idea where the thread is on how to use it. i want to change my boot screen. thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
windows or mac.
if your evo's rooted (which it would have to be anyways) i can vnc into my home computer and make you a flashable zip for easy installation. just tell me what boot anim you would want.
i am on windows. i wanted the 1 with the eye.
Do you mind linking the animation?
Btw do you want to install adb or have me/somebody else make you a zip?

i tried it and got it thanks anyway.
have a GEN2 A100 and never got any update till date..so planning to flash it to GEN1 3.2.1 so i can get ICS OTA. I never done this before and still bit new for Android platform.. Please help.
There are multiple threads.. different update.zip file for Gen1 3.2.1. being a windows user, i'm cautious of installing anything off the internet...
http://fileshost.fr.mu/download/84/S...l_user.7z.html
- Many seems to have used the above file, renamed it to update.zip and successfully flashed. But after downloading, i was i unable to open it with winzip.. it says invalid archive file..
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?txhsq9k7zvwk9ud
- This is another update.zip some used for Gen1, .This one opens correctly in winzip and i can see android files..
Question: How do we validate the update.zip files used for flashing? Should I be able to open it with Winzip on my laptop?
Thanks!
UPDATE: Figured out .7z file is 7zip compressed file. I was able to extract update.zip from it and successfully flashed it to GEN1 and now to ICS! Finally!

You can't close a thread. Either:
- Report the thead (for maintainance - requesting closure) - already done
- PM a mod to close it
Closed at OPs request. ;-)
I really need to get the right drivers for the Iconia A100 and i need um soon. I searched alot and there all dead links or ads now.
I just attempted to port a 4.1.2 rom from another tab, I get past the install and sit at the boot animation, no damn adb cause i did a reinstall on the computer and they got lost in the hundreds of zip files in my downloads.. And I cant get a logcat, I know I can get this booting and its freaking sweet. Its based on pio_masaki's Jellytime Final, and a mixture of ParanoidAndroid Roms. If i get it going its getting posted. Anyone wanna help on the testing just ask here or pm me.
Thanks in Advance.
I do need an xml person, I hate them ....:silly:
Try the Acer support site?

Sure did...
The ones I got from them didn't work for some reason. I found a thread on here that's got a naked usb driver that worked just fine. I am waiting for cygwin to install to unpack and compare boot.img from your SoseiB3 Final to the rom I ported from, Then its off to recovery and some logcating to see if I can get it to boot. did this once today and I failed. I went about this build from another angle and I think this should boot. I'm not to good at logcat reading but I hope I dont need to read to much. I'm about 30 minutes from a signed update to test. Then hopefully I can post my rom. If i can find a mirror to use that is lol. I'm new can you tell?
I have successfully ported roms before without building from source. If you post some logcats I might be able to help with what might be causing to boot to fail.
Most of the things I had to do to make it work were transferring lib files and doing some modifications to framework.jar

Its uploaded to dev host, the links below. if you would like to download it and see what you think then feel free. Just be aware I have not even tried this build out yet. Nothing to worry about really but it may be way far from booting. Its fresh out the winrar folders lol.
