I am running Cyanogen 7 on my desire and I am really liking it but I seem to have a problem with my battery.
I charged my phone fully and the battery display was saying 100% but now it is at 93% and when I plug the phone in to my car charger or usb on my laptop the battery will not charge up and it say charged on the lock screen?
any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance
The CM7 "green light" comes on at 90% charged, it'll continue to charge afterwards to get to 100%.
Battery Usage: have you implemented the (quoting CM7):
Battery drain issue:
Set wifi sleep policy to never
settings -> wireless & networks -> wifi settings
press menu -> advanced and set wifi sleep policy to Never
press menu -> save
?
I personally also use "setCPU" to throttle back the CPU a bit, but that's just my preference.

Hi,
I'm looking for locking program for HTC P3300. I tried 4 applications but with no luck:
S2U - works OK but with some power drain (about 10% of battery at night - 8 hours, device in standby). With no S2U installed my PDA is fully charged after night.
S2U2 - the same like S2U
DeviceLock - no power drain, but doesn't work if device is switched off with hardware power off button, with SPB Pocket Plus power off shortcut it works OK.
pLock - the same like DeviceLock.
Could you recommend any really working program? I want two features only - no power drain and autolocking after wake-up.
Thanks
try batterystatus, 2nd or 3rd tab has device lock. If you choose, it wi activate automaticaly when its powered down (by time) or by pressing the off button.
Thanks for your suggestion. I'm testing this program now (beta version). Lock works very well - after power off with hardware button and with shortcut. If there will be no symptoms of power drain I'll be happy with BatteryStatus.
By the way - I wonder if there is possibility not to display BS today plugin and have lock and CPU scalar enabled, because I noticed that displaying more indicators (memory usage, battery state, SD free space...) can drain battery faster.

I guess you can reduce the stuff to only the batterybar (1st or/and 2nd tab), but not clear it totaly. How do you notice the batterydrain? You need batterystatus (powerdrain monitor) tot see this don't you?
I use BS too and can live with the batterydrain (not noticeable in regard to all the extra stuff (overclock) it provides for me). Maybe others have further suggestions...

I've turned off all indicators (battery too) and cpu scaling works - I noticed that when system is idle LCD starts flicking (like always in low CPU frequency)

I observed increased power drain in SPB Pocket Plus simply turning indicators on and leaving device for about 8 hours at night in standby mode, then the same with indicators off. I'll try the same procedure with BatteryStatus.
First time android user here! I have a GSM GN:
1. So far I am not loving the battery life. I have juice defender installed which definitely increases idle battery life but my main issue is screen time. I understand that a 4.6in screen has these tradeoffs but nevertheless, what tweaks/ROMs/etc would you recommend to get more screen time?
Has anybody tried franco's and faux123's kernel on the same phone?
I've tried the obvious : Brightness > auto or low, Screen time out > 15s, Juice defender, gps/bluetooth/NFC off
ROMs I have tried: AOKP + Stock kernel, Apex 1.0 + Apex kernel
2. What is the difference between these two settings :
Code:
Settings > Data Usage > Mobile Data
Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Data Enabled
Both of them appear to have the same effect (turn 2g/3g off completely).
3. What is the deal with signal bars and Wifi icon is status bar changing colour from gray to blue? Does it turn blue when it is being used?
When I am connected to my home network, the wifi icon sometimes shows 2 bars and sometimes no bars(grey). All my other devices show full bars.
1. I wouldn't use any of this power saving apps since they keep the phone awake, but that's up to you.
2. Everything between 3-4h screen on time is normal and it will be more or less the same on all Android phones.
3. GPS and Bluetooth shouldn't be that much of a problem since their battery consummation is very low when you'r not using them.
4.Connect to WIFI every time it's possible. Do not set any profiles that it switches of when the screen is off. Unless your going to no data or airplane mode. WIFI uses less energy than 3G.
5. When the icons are blue you're connected to the Google servers. Which means your phone is able to receive gmails and gtalk messages and can sync your data from the GAPPS.

Thanks!
Although I'm not sure I agree with #1. SetCPU shows that my phone goes into deep sleep most of time. JD disables both wifi AND data when phone goes to sleep, so it does not matter that much if you're not connect to wifi. Ofcourse, I use wifi as much as possible especially since I only have 500mb of data.
Notification on vibrate mode fail to work after leaving phone unused for a specified period of time. It seems the phone pretty much goes into a half dead sleep mode even though I have disabled as much visible stuff on the power management options. Any way to resolve this issue.
Also this thing takes 3 hrs to recharge fully plugged in straight to a wall outlet.

Don't know about the first part but 3 hours to charge is normal.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
What I mean is that if you set the phone to vibrate notifications will vibrate also, like calendar events. But when you leave this phone down for over 20m or so it goes into a deep sleep mode where it practically becomes useless and no notifications come through , the wifi shuts down, pretty much the thing is half dead. Massive power management. And I went through the settings where I changed wifi to always on and high performance, the screen to never sleep unless I hit the lock button. I have a motorola atrix 4g that is rock solid, but this dam thing is barbaric in its power management and also in it's multitasking. It kills everything on the background if it is left there for more than a minute. I might swap it for the Galaxy S3 when it comes out here .
notifications always work for me..?
I have problems with notifications too but not only on vibrate mode.
I always get them when I turn the screen on but if not an SMS notificiation can come as late as 10 minutes after it was recieved. So I guess it wakes up from the coma sometimes to do a check.
Hello, I cannot find a way to have Tasker find out whether the 'battery saver' mode is ON or OFF. (h815p)
what i'm trying to do is to create a task that:
1 - checks if battery saver is ON or OFF
2 - if ON, turn battery saver off and set display brightness to 91
3 - if OFF, turn battery saver on and set display brightness to 255
i was able to get tasker to switch BS on or off (though not 'silently') - but there seems no way to know if BS if ON or OFF.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
PS. not sure why this feature is not discussed more in depth, it almost doubles my battery life with it.
it's been driving me insane. as soon as my battery hits 75% the phone goes to battery saving mode. some apps stop sync, theme goes dark in the middle of the day and if a go to battery settings both battery saving and ultra battery savingare off, and the quick tile is off. the only solution i can think of is a factory reset. any ideas?
non-serious edit: apparently i'm a senior member. so show respect (?
I will suppose you have rebooted a lot of times so:
1) try turning on battery saver
2) go to the battery settings of each app that has a problem and set it to "No restrictions"
