What's the best radio to use?
Just trying to get my head around what RIL / Radios i need to get the best out of my phone.
The recommended radio on page one of the CM thread says 26.04.02.17
The best radio to use is the one that works best for you on your phone with signal vs battery life.
What works well for one might not work well for you. And give each radio at least 2-3 days testing.
See my sig for my chosen radio and ril but like I said, might not work as well for you. Won't know till you try them.
Thanks
I'll give it a go tonight and see how it goes from there...
I tend to go for the newest radio that people say has a higher battery drain.
Where I live the signal is a bit ropey and I find the higher battery drainers do give me a more consistent signal.
Have a play about and don't forget to give the phone a good test everywhere you use it.
Hitting my head against a brick wall here...
I updated my kernel to lordmodV5.1-CFS-BFQhs.
I've tried to use fastboot to flash a new radio but keep getting :
Code:
sending 'radio' (24960 KB)...
OKAY [ 4.360s]
writing 'radio'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 4.361s
Recovery is set to "ship S-off"
CID = 11111111
I'm using Ubuntu linux.
Any ideas?

hey everyone,
lately i've been having problems with flashing the stock 1.34 PC10IMG.zip file.
and below i will show you what is exactly going on.
i found the exact problem that i have , 2 other people got the exact same problem.
""I also flashed my DZ with a G2 rom, because I wanted to unroot and followed this guide:
"addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-unroot-t-mobile-g2-htc-desire-z-complete-guide/"
I thought it would work, because it seemed suitable for the Desire Z, but now I have a G2 rom.
My hboot version is 0.82 and everytime I try to flash with 1.34 or 1.72 (extracted from the RUU)but everytime when i see the sd loading I get the "Lack of heap!" error...""
That is exactly what i did, i also got the same boot version , but what i did after that is reroot , and put a custom rom on my phone. , i get the same lack of heap error...
What i've also tried is to flash through the pc10img and fastboot but then i will get a message"fastboot flash system system.img
sending 'system' (571388 KB)... FAILED (remote: data length is too large)
finished. total time: 0.005s"
So that ended up as a failure.
Anyone any idea how to fix this very complicated issue, hopefully some experienced people can help me! , i would really appreciate it allot!!!
First, wrong forum. Second, you're going to have to clean up your problem description a bit, I have no idea where you're at in the process or what exactly is wrong other than trying to flash a rom on a device that it is not intended for.
I've been following the steps provided here and am stuck at step 8 where I am unable to flash a custom recovery (i.e. CWM) no matter what i do!
I've tried rebooting the computer; resetting the phone and trying another computer but no go. I have s-off and SuperCID (11111111).
I'd like to know what else i should try? What am I doing wrong? Is this a driver problem?
I had issues with flashing the firmware also (actually flashing anything in general), but i just changed my CID to 11111111 and so was finally able to update the hboot (currently 1.39) and software (currently 3.17.728.1)
The error message i get when trying to flash the recovery through fastboot is :
sending 'recovery' (5742KB)...
OKAY [ 0.759s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.970s
I haven't unlocked my bootloader before flashing recovery because i assumed with a s-off HOX you didn't need to?
Please i need some advice as the ROM I started with (ARHD) is wiped out!
Remote not allowed is an error that pops up indeed when the bootloader is locked, just unlock it via the HTC dev site and flash again.
And your assumption is right but it does not seem to work in your case.
Yeah. With S-OFF, you can probably set it back to **LOCKED** state when needed.
Sent from my One X
Of course It's that simple! :s

Ok I'll try that right now, cheers.
Thanks, but no touch on ARHD 18.1
Thanks for that, it all worked out But I had the same issue that some people have with the touch screen not working, at all!
So I've just flashed the very first nandroid backup listed here since my original CID was HTC_023 and am now running on a stock android 4.1.1 Sense ROM.
It seems to be a problem with HTC_023 devices. These two threads (1) (2) discuss this issue further if anyone is interested.
So far there seems to be no progress in getting a custom ROM working with touch according to them, i think?
Odp: [Q] I can't flash CWM recovery on s-off HOX, advice?

I have done this with a previous INC2, however I get this error with a new phone I received 2 days ago:
r>fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)... OKAY [ 0.165s]
writing 'unlocktoken'... FAILED (remote: unlock token check failed)
finished. total time: 0.169s
I have repeated the steps 3 times , generating an unlock file from HTC every time (double checking device , cut and paste erros , etc).
My goal is to root for superuser access not S-OFF the device
My versions of SW are:
FW version is 4.08.605.3
Hboot 0.98
And 2.3.4
radio 01.0722
1- Anyone has an idea of the HTCDev error solution?
2- If it is not possible to use HTCDev and I need to rS-OFF to get superuser privileges; what procedure should I follow based on my FW v4.08.605.3 and Hboot 0.98? (will taco root work with this Hboot?, links please)
thanks

Ok, I know there are many posts about S-OFF with FW v 6.....xxxx, use TACOroot or with V6.yyyy use this one. Can someone tell me if a simple downgrade will work with my FW version v4.08.605.3 and Hboot 0.98?
thank you

The phone came with these
FW version is 4.08.605.3
Hboot 0.98
And 2.3.4
radio 01.0722
HctDev is not working as I posted previously.
I only wanted superuser rights (don't care for ROMs). Since HctDev root does not work , I want S-OFF (which will give me SU anyway),
The question is what procedure to follow since I see different posts where the FW version is important to do the right thing. So what link is the correct for the Hboot and FW versions that I have.
thank you

There are several posts about using HTC Dev unlock. I think I could get my 10yr old niece to use use search n figure it out.
You need to get the unlock .bin file from your email that u use to submit all your info n out that .bin file in the same file as adb resides in.

Your MID/CID don't match the developer edition.
You will need to S-off if you can, then change your CID/MID accordingly.

Sunshine not compatible with my current firmware :/
i'v buy it before upgrading , but for some reason i had to make it s-on back and forgot to make it off before upgrading , i didnt know it will not work :/
so i have to wait until sunshine work again ?! :/
You are done as far as firmware is concerned, but you might be able to restore a nandroid backup of lollipop. The only trouble is that the mismatched firmware/software will probably kill WiFi at a minimum.
So yeah, to do a proper conversion, you will need to wait for Sunshine to support your device or wait for HTC to get around to your CID/MID.
okey
thanks dud better to wait than brick my phone

Its not going to work. This RUU requires the Dev Edition CID, just like the firmware doees.

Aside from seeking warranty service, there shouldn't ever be a reason you "need" to return to s-on.
Hi Guys,.
I have been trying to (unsuccessfully) install a new ROM onto my HTC One E9+. Like so many people on here, I bought it because of the specs (which are pretty damn good). However, it has china sense ui on it, so it would be nice to flash it over to an EU version of the ROM.
I have found numerous threads on the forum and many instructions and I have followed them all, but they don't appear clear and concise.
I would like to compile a simple checklist of the steps that are needed to go through, in case (more than likely) I have missed something. if one of the more knowledgeable members of the forum could sanity check it for me that'd be great!
1. Unlock Bootloader.
2. Turn Security off (S-Off).
3. Flash recovery programme (TWRP).
4. Change CID to 11111111.
5. Install ROM.
It is the last stage I am at. I have TWRP and Clockworkmod ROM installer on my phone. Everything I do seems to fail. I have tried many different ROMS.
Without stating the obvious, I am missing something. What is it please?
Stu.

hi my friedn.
so you have the Asia version firmware right ? maybe first you have to install the related firmware of European ROM.
you can find the detailed guides here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/one-e9/guide-how-to-root-install-twrp-s-off-t3288036

Hi Tank
I'm running around in circles here. Managed to re-lock my bootloader because a post said I needed to do or something wouldn't update. It didn't work
Managed to re-unlock my bootloader and now TWRP doesn't work.
I re-flashed the recovery over (see below).
C:\Android>fastboot flash recovery TWRP_Recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (5938 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.267s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) HOSD CL#664129
(bootloader) [email protected]
(bootloader) [email protected]%
(bootloader) Update partition OK
(bootloader) [email protected]
OKAY [ 1.132s]
finished. total time: 2.401s
Now when I reboot into recovery, it goes back to the HTC screen and my phone boots as normal.
What am I doing wrong?

Ok,
So I have managed to fix the above error. Different version of TWRP.img
Now for the tricky part.
I am confused as to.
OTA, RUU, ROM, Firmware, MD5.
Do I need to update all of them to get rid of the stupid China Sense on my HTC?
Is there a specific order to install them?
Are there specific versions for these files, that are unique to my phone; HTC One E9+ (aka pw)
Are the files I need in the link provided by DutchDanny? (in another post somewhere).
Many thanks,
Stu.
