Your MID/CID don't match the developer edition.
You will need to S-off if you can, then change your CID/MID accordingly.

Sunshine not compatible with my current firmware :/
i'v buy it before upgrading , but for some reason i had to make it s-on back and forgot to make it off before upgrading , i didnt know it will not work :/
so i have to wait until sunshine work again ?! :/
You are done as far as firmware is concerned, but you might be able to restore a nandroid backup of lollipop. The only trouble is that the mismatched firmware/software will probably kill WiFi at a minimum.
So yeah, to do a proper conversion, you will need to wait for Sunshine to support your device or wait for HTC to get around to your CID/MID.
okey
thanks dud better to wait than brick my phone

Its not going to work. This RUU requires the Dev Edition CID, just like the firmware doees.

Aside from seeking warranty service, there shouldn't ever be a reason you "need" to return to s-on.

I have gotten myself a s-offed HTC One X from a local carrier with their firmware on it so I have no real hope of fast updates...
CIDgetter says in the top left I have CID of 11111111, yet going down to ro.aa.maincid says TELENZ001 - the carrier
Obviously I am s-offed and can get into the bootloader, how do I go about changing my CID and flashing a European RUU?
Have you tried just plugging in when in fastboot and running the RUU? If you really do have Super CID it'll just work
Sorry to ask this but have you contacted the guys in the s-off thread? They may be interested in hearing from you.

Can you make a picture of the bootloader. To see what version HBOOT and radio you have. Maybe this is causing the issue.

Boot phone into fastboot, connect to PC, run RUU - not a lot else to do!
It'll either work or give you an error and reboot, with no changes made

On that note can anyone link me to the RUU I would want?

If you have superCID then choose whatever RUU you want from HERE. It will not change your CID if you flash a particular RUU.
May I hook on to this.
My CID is O2__001. So I want to change it into 111111.
When I boot into fastboot and give 'fastboot oem writecid 11111111' it says:
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links).
I've tried different usb-ports, different usb-cables
Or is there another way to change the CID?
Bootloader is unlocked (HTCDev)
HBoot: 0.43.0000
Softwareversion is still 1.26.206.2, no updates available
Someone can help me?
Thanks in advance

My goal is to root for superuser access not S-OFF the device
My versions of SW are:
FW version is 4.08.605.3

1- Anyone has an idea of the HTCDev error solution?

The phone came with these
FW version is 4.08.605.3
Hboot 0.98
And 2.3.4
radio 01.0722
HctDev is not working as I posted previously.
I only wanted superuser rights (don't care for ROMs). Since HctDev root does not work , I want S-OFF (which will give me SU anyway),
The question is what procedure to follow since I see different posts where the FW version is important to do the right thing. So what link is the correct for the Hboot and FW versions that I have.
thank you

After receiving this phone from a friend with S-OFF already set, I've been unable to install my enterprise email application (GOOD) because of a failed compliance check. As a result, I'm trying to return to 100% stock. I've followed this guide to flash stock rom, etc:

But when I run this command to turn S-ON from DOWNLOAD mode:

I get the following error:

You're getting that error because something on your phone is not 100% stock and it's failing the security check. Be glad, because this is preventing a brick. You may have the wrong firmware on the phone. It needs to match your CID and MID.
I would be surprised if your enterprise security check is failing because of s-off (though I suppose it's possible). Usually those checks stop at root, or at best unlocked bootloaders.
Going back to s-on can be very risky unless you're certain your phone is 100% out-of-the-box stock. Anything else can cause instability or brickage.

Thanks for the response. How can I go about determining what is still outstanding as not stock. I've followed the guides step-by-step. I have locked the bootloader and *LOCKED* is reported when in DOWNLOAD mode. As per the guide, my current CID/MID which match the RUU I've installed:
Code:
CID = HTC__032
Code:
MID = 0PJA10000
Is there anything else I'm missing that I can check to identify where my combination of things is still resulting in non-Stock?
Thanks in advance.

Reporting back after successfully solving this, and....you were right with EVERYTHING you said. The ultimate cause was an incorrect MID being documented for the stock Rogers (Canadian carrier) ROM/RUU I was trying to install. Also, I listened to your advice and did not configure S-ON and installation of GOOD for Enterprise succeeded without any compliance errors.

from the looks of it (yeah kinda had to take look), it's "just a kernel", unpack it, and you'll end up seeing more of what we used to call hboot
the decryption keys are there, as is mentioned in @joeykrim's thread
the download mode is there too, as well as much other stuff (including some of the nonsense "text" people wanna get rid off for absolutely not comprehensible reason, imho)
EDIT: I'm 100% sure, I'm 100% stock
I did the procedure to get lollipop early. It worked fine. Now I am seeing that Marshmallow is supposed to be out for the M8 dev and unlocked editions, however I get nothing in system updates.
HBoot version is 3.19.0.0000, if that means anything. I'm on version 5.0.1 of Android. I noticed the HTC SDK version says "Unknown", not sure if that would be a cause or not though. I don't currently have the android SDK tools installed on this computer so I can't check the other stuff, but I'm positive the phone is converted to dev edition because I was very thorough when I did it.
Is there any reason my phone hasn't received it yet? I'm finding threads from Dec 2nd that state the update has been released.
Did you check for updates?
same question , I tested but no update available. Looking for the command to force the update .

Code:

However, if I boot into fastboot I can get the MID here:

mid: 0P6B12000

Nothing to do with SDK unknown .. as @Mr Hofs said, I believe the OTA is on hold too.
Most probably because the last OTA leaves many blank folders and unnecessary files after the update, so maybe they need to do some clean up.

I have been trying to (unsuccessfully) install a new ROM onto my HTC One E9+. Like so many people on here, I bought it because of the specs (which are pretty damn good). However, it has china sense ui on it, so it would be nice to flash it over to an EU version of the ROM.
I have found numerous threads on the forum and many instructions and I have followed them all, but they don't appear clear and concise.
I would like to compile a simple checklist of the steps that are needed to go through, in case (more than likely) I have missed something. if one of the more knowledgeable members of the forum could sanity check it for me that'd be great!
1. Unlock Bootloader.
2. Turn Security off (S-Off).
3. Flash recovery programme (TWRP).
4. Change CID to 11111111.
5. Install ROM.
It is the last stage I am at. I have TWRP and Clockworkmod ROM installer on my phone. Everything I do seems to fail. I have tried many different ROMS.
Without stating the obvious, I am missing something. What is it please?
Stu.

Tank
Hi Tank
I'm running around in circles here. Managed to re-lock my bootloader because a post said I needed to do or something wouldn't update. It didn't work
Managed to re-unlock my bootloader and now TWRP doesn't work.
I re-flashed the recovery over (see below).
C:\Android>fastboot flash recovery TWRP_Recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (5938 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.267s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) HOSD CL#664129
(bootloader) [email protected]
(bootloader) [email protected]%
(bootloader) Update partition OK
(bootloader) [email protected]
OKAY [ 1.132s]
finished. total time: 2.401s
Now when I reboot into recovery, it goes back to the HTC screen and my phone boots as normal.
What am I doing wrong?

Ok,
So I have managed to fix the above error. Different version of TWRP.img
Now for the tricky part.
I am confused as to.
OTA, RUU, ROM, Firmware, MD5.
Do I need to update all of them to get rid of the stupid China Sense on my HTC?
Is there a specific order to install them?
Are there specific versions for these files, that are unique to my phone; HTC One E9+ (aka pw)
Are the files I need in the link provided by DutchDanny? (in another post somewhere).
Many thanks,
Stu.
Unlock Bootloader!

I had the same issue on what to pick. Just do the RUU 0PJXIMG_A55ML_DTUL_L50_SENSE70_HTC_Europe_1.45.401 .2_combined and all will be taken care of.
