I was also able to flash a custom rom through ClockworkMod Recovery.
But i just want de-brand the phone and want original htc stock rom on it.
I tried several times to run RUU_Vision_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.5_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_155556_signed
to get t-mobile branding away, but getting all the time error that the update file mismatch...
please help..
Why are you still using RUUs when you have CWM recovery installed? Just head to the dev forum a pick a stock ROM from there...
thanks for the quick reply.
I already search and found only RUU .exe or T-Mobile rom zip.

Hi guys,
my mate had MIUI installed on his desire and asked me to flash stock rom on his phone.
I tried restoring the backup from clockworkmod, but ended up overwriting the backup with a new one. (i think). I deleted the files related to backup, formatted the SD, DATA and CACHE.
I also installed a new radio from 4 to 5. It has the following details on its HBOOT

whenever I power on the phone, it boots into HBOOT and does nothing. I tried roms found on MoDaCo (update.zip) it wont flash because the signature doesnt match or returns this error
e:can't symlink /system/bin/dumpcrash
e:failure at line 5
what do I do?
any help would be much appreciated as Im completely stuck at HBoot screen.
nvm, i installed cyanogenmod and it works now.. time to downgrade to stock RUU
hey guys, the device is locked to Orange UK and I cannot install custom roms. but since I am stuck here, is there anyone who can help me out by giving me a link to original Orange RUU or OTA update.zip?
any help would be much appreciated.

If you search on Orange RUU you'll understand why

Why not just get the HTC WWE RUU? Or would that make your sim not able to work?
I've tried installing WWE, it gives me some CID error.
cant find the orange RUU or orange update.zip anywhere
You wont find an Orange RUU anywhere, they have never been leaked.
To run the RUU, you need a Goldcard. There's a number of tutorials/threads on how to do this on here or modaco.

ok, I have an other orange sim locked desire. how do I clone the os to install it on to this one?
My Desire HD got a problem with the casing, the battery-lit will not fit properly. I need to send it back to HTC for repair but my device is rooted. Customer support have told me I have to pay for this repair because rooted devices don't have warranty. I have rooted my device myself but forgot what method I used, here some info from bootloader:

1. How can I fully revert to stock without leaving any traces?
2. I have flashed another radio, will flashing a RUU rom change this back to stock?
3.Does a RUU rom change ENG S-OFF to ENG S-ON?
Thanks for your help!
1. I personally would use any one of the methods mentioned in any one of the MANY MANY threads already about this matter in the dev section. See my link in signature.
2. A stock RUU ahould do yes but don't hold me to that.
3. Unsure but see #1.
Did try a search, but no results on ENG S-OFF or ENG S-ON. Your link doesn't explain anything. So please help and post some relevant links to these so called MANY MANY threads.
Ok, I did a search for "Revert to stock" and the following thread came up:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855403&highlight=Revert+stock
Talks about ENG S-OFF and reverting to stock.
Hey All,
Hopefully I'm not totally recovering ground someone has already asked about. But I had a query and I couldn't post under the thread I wanted to ask the question in.
A while back I created a gold card and put the WWE stock RUU on my phone (unbranded my Vodafone AU DHD). I'm still running the stock RUU Android 2.2, I never updated to 2.3. Due to a possible warranty issue coming up, I was thinking I should probably change it back to the Vodafone image. I can't find a Vodafone AU RUU installer for the DHD.
I have been looking at this guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920876
It seems pretty comprehensive, but I'm just wondering if it's the right guide I should be following. The only reason I ask is I have not rooted my phone or installed a custom ROM. All I've done is un-brand the phone with the Stock ROM and a gold card.
Looking in the boot loader it says:
ACE PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.85.0007
MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
eMMC-boot
Under Software info it says:
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Software number: 1.32.405.6
Is there another way to install the Vodafone ROM or do I need to use Clockwork Mod? And do I need my phone rooted to do this (I've never used Clockwork)? Just want to easiest way to go back to the Vodafone ROM
Thanks in advance and sorry if I'm going over old territory.
You are on the right guide basically looks like you will need to have clockworkmod to get stock vodafone back.

Hi,
I have DHD from Vodafone UK, I am looking for a way to debrand while its bootloader unlocked, ship s-on and no root.
I have made a gold card, but I am not able to install any WWE RUU for some reason!
The phone is stuck at HTC logo but I am able to do hboot and I have Ext4 recovery install. Need either to get it back to Vodafone or install any other stock roms.

Dont I need the phone running (home screen) prior to using AAHK? In my case I cant go beyond the HTC logo screen.
I tried downloading vodafone PD98IMG.zip uploaded by one of the guys in another forum. Unfortunately, hboot loaded the file but then gave me wrong rom/image message.
I also tried running another RUU, opened the temp folder and copied the PD98IMG.ZIP to the temp folder and deleted the rom.zip then renamed PD98IMG.ZIP to rom.zip but after the signature verification it gave me err155.
I am not sure if there is anything that can be done to fix this. Do I need to relock the bootloader or remove the ext4 recovery prior to doing this?
Long story short.....
Ive had my DHD for about 2 years now and have flashed the crap out of it without any issues.
My DHD is non branded, and Ive never had an issue with it.
I bought the Wife a DHD with Stock Rom, S-ON locked Bootloader etc. Locked to Orange UK
Ive scoured the XDA forums for an answer but unable to find it. Although I found Soooooooo many post with dead links or incomplete / Not working information etc.
I have used the HTCDev site to unlock the bootloader now, and also installed CWM and managed to install a Stock-rooted Rom.
SU works etc so I know I have root.
Problem is that I cannot get S-OFF at all nor Install my Favorite DHD Rom, SVHD.

Recovery = Clockworkmod v5.8.1.5
Android Version = 2.3.5
Sense = 3.0
Software = 3.12.405.1_rooted_by_nitr00
So, Ive tried Easy S-OFF and all I get is "Unknown Error"
Ive tried to install the same ROM that I have on MY DHD and it gets stuck at the HTC White logo screen.
Question is, how come the SVHD Rom wont run once installed, and how can I get S-OFF !
Any info would be a Huge help...

Did you forgot to flash boot.img? Being s-on and unlocked require you to do that every time you flash new custom rom. The boot.img can be found in the rom zip file.

never had to flash boot on my working Dhd.
ill look into it.
So basically, If I keep S-on, every time I want to put a now ROM on the phone, I have to flash boot.img before I do ?
Any idea why I cant get the S-OFF tools to work though ?

Yes, because unlocked bootloader with s-on does not allow you to alter boot partition through recovery. From your post, you said you are using easy s-off. If im not mistaken, that tools cannot be used on bootloader v2 (new bootloader). The only way is by using aahk2 which can be found in general section. Im not sure whether u need to flash a ruu in order to use that tool. It is better for you to ask in that thread.

Actually found a way to do it via Terminal on the phone.
Ill see if I can find the link I used.
