Every since installing CM7 I would initally get text and email sound notifications but after some time this stop working. I have tried serveral different ROMS with no problems. I LOVE the new CM7 and would like to conitnue using it. It is the best ROM I have tried yet.
I have tried everything I know to try, format, wipe, erase, reboot nothing seems to work.
Does anyone have this same problem and if so how do I correct it?

Just wanted to make an official thread asking about the MMS issue with CM7. I've searched and searched but could not find any answers, or at least none that helped.
First of all, when I try to send a picture message through handcent, it just keeps showing that its sending, and never actually sends.
I've downloaded the MMS.apk and installed it, but still doesnt work. I've also made sure that data is enabled. Still will not send.
Between this and the gps not really working, I'm not sure how long I'll stay with this rom, even though I absolutely love everything else about it.
I'm going to try a clean wipe of everything and install rc2, and see if that fixes anything.
I was going to say, try updating to CM7 RC2 or nightly 14, as they have the mms fix. Also with handcent, set the split at 16o characters to make it send faster, and when you send mms messages, turning on 3G helps.
I had this same problem. The mms.apk would hold a wake lock after trying to send any mms. It would just try and send forever. Someone was kind enough to provide a solution for me. I can't remember exactly what file you have to delete, but search the cm7 nightly thread.
I'll try and find the exact file. Hold on.
Try this.
You can try to delete this file:
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db
Then reset the phone.
This worked for me. The stock mms.apk still won't send for me, but handcent has no problems after deleting that file.
Well that worked! Thanks for the advice.
I'm happy this worked for me, hopefully others can see this too.
Did you follow the steps to "fix" GPS?
There are many posts about this on the CM & XDA forums. It involves installing a sense rom and using a ##GPSCLRX# code.

definitely doing this next. Right now I'm trying to figure out why Titanium Backup keeps force closing with RC2
Hi all,
I recently rooted my SPH-l710 that was updated to 4.3 using this method: http://honai-android.blogspot.com/2013/11/how-to-root-galaxy-s3-sprint-sph-l710.html
Everything worked well and then I flashed the CM11 ROM (snapshot) and again, everything was working well, I could make calls, send and receive text messages and had mobile data. This afternoon, I found out that I had not been receiving text messages, I could send them and people received them, but when they replied, they never came) through on my end. I rebooted, nothing changed, then I did a factory data reset, again, same issue. Then I flashed this stock ROM (deodexed): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541900 and still had the issue. After installing the stock ROM, I updated the PRL profile and I'm still having the issue. At this point, I have no idea what else I can do the fix this issue and I'm hoping someone here can help me.
Thanks in advance.
Did u try reflashing the modem? If that doesn't work its something on sprints end.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
I'm shocked that root method even worked for you...did you update your profile as well and then reboot the phone when on stock rom? might wanna get back on the stock rom and try...other things you may wanna try when all else fails, reflash back to completely stock 4.3 which you can do by using my guide in my sig for bricked phones, which you're gonna need to do if you have to go to sprint for it, they won't touch it rooted
I did not try flashing modem, I was under the impression that the modem deals with data and since I had no problems there I didn't bother with it. I did try rebooting after going back to stock rom, but that didn't help. When I first installed cm11 I was having problems with getting Google Voice to work, but I restored the back up a CM 11 when I first installed it and tried google voice again. This time it works and I'm able to send and receive text messages and access voicemail through the app so as long as I don't come across any more issues I'm happy with how it is now. I appreciate all the pointers and if I ever have to go back to stock, I'll refer to this post, thanks.
For some unknown cause, my t999 just stopped receiving sms messages. Doesn't matter what rom I'm using, stock or aosp gets the same results, I've flashed stock through mobile odin, no go, flashed aosp, still no go, flashed stock via Odin on pc and it still won't get messages, my s3 sometimes recieves them at random Intervals during the day and all at once. Sometimes I don't even recieve them at all and has been a major issue for me for the past 5 days now, any assistance in finding the cause of this problem would be gladly appreciated. Oh and it's all a clean flashed, wiped even the internal sdcard
Hello all,
I used to have CM11 M12 on my SPH-L710. when I first installed it, I didn't have MMS or LTE. However, I fixed it using this fix from MopedRyder: http://androidforums.com/threads/mod-universal-lte-virgin-mobile-apn-fix-wip-cm-aosp-4-4-x.840298/ and I fixed the MMS with the fix from moonknightus on that page. However, when I flashed liquidsmooth v4.0 to my phone, whenever I flashed the MMS fix, the phone would not boot. Does anyone know how to fix this? It says it should work with all AOSP ROMs. The LTE fix works, but not MMS.
This problem persists on Android Ice Cold Project v8.0. Using Hangouts as the default messaging app allows MMS to work, but stock messaging doesn't seem to want to work with Lollipop. Anyone know of a fix?

You shouldn't need the MMS fix on lollipop, I didn't. Everytime I try to apply the MMS fix mine would not boot either, but just applying the APN fix allowed me to send MMS's in the default text messaging app. I'm on Boost Mobile. Have you tried flashing a TouchWiz ROM on there updating PRL and profile and then flashing the lollipop ROM? If you try this make sure you wipe internal SD each time.
Yes, I have tried it without the fix. However, the message wouldn't download. I cleaned up the phone before a new flash using the feature in PhilZ touch home recovery. I haven't tried flashing a touchwiz ROM to update anything. I'm pretty happy with using hangouts as the default messaging app, but is there any other advantage for updating PRL and profile? I've configured my ROM the way I like it. Will making a Nandroid backup, flashing the touchwiz ROM, and restoring the backup allow me to have the updated PRL and profile?

Updating the prl and profile will just make sure everything is up to snuff and communicating with towers and provider, in Philz make a nandroid, wipe cache, wipe internalSD, wipe to install new ROM. Flash TouchWiz ROM, update prl and profile, go back into Philz, wipe everything including internalSD, restore nandroid.
Thanks! Do you know where to get a good touchwiz ROM?
Wicked S5 is the best TouchWiz ROM I've run:

Make sure you can send and receive MMS on there before you go back to Liquid. That way if there is something you need to do per carrier instructions if it doesn't work, you'll have access to dialer codes.
Thanks. I'll get around to checking it, but I'm a little hesitant to because everytime I would recieve an OTA (before I rooted/installed custom ROMs), my phone's coverage would stop working, and I'd have to contact Virgin Mobile and reactivate my phone. Now that I've burned those bridges installing ROMs, I'm a bit hesitant to do something like that. Do you think this will happen again, or is that a stock only problem? Getting stock MMS to work now isn't a high priority (I'm fine using Hangouts), but I figure I'll have to update my modem, PRL, profile, or something else sooner or later, and I'd like to figure this out.

Burned what bridge? They don't care, it's your phone, you bought it. If you have ANY TouchWiz ROM and you call to trouble shoot a problem you can use dialer codes if need be.
I was under the assumption that once you rooted or installed a custom ROM you were on your own. In that case, I'll install a touchwiz ROM with no worries!

You're really on your own with AOSP ROMs, keep in mind if you go the route with WickedS5 AND need to call VirginMobile, don't use the S5 settings, use the normal one, if you read the thread you'll see what I'm talking about
