Is anyone else having trouble w/ comp themes??

FOR SOME REASON I CANT GET NOT ONE OF THESE AMAZING COMP THEMES TO INSTALL ON MY PHONE.. IM DOING IT THE WAY I NORMALY DO IT, AND NO LUCK. . . . I JUST WANTED SOME FEED BACK TO SEE IF IM THE COMMON DENOMINATOR IN THIS DILEMA OF MINE.. IVE HAD LOTS OF SUPPORT FROM MANUP & DOOOSHTY (THANKS GUYS) BUT STILL NILL!HELP ANYONE!

Do you have the lite version of r33?

are you opening the folders and renaming the the zip files in side update.zip and not renaming the files the updates are in

Make sure you check the zip files. Some of them included the themes inside the zip files so they coukld package extra icons for bettercut and wallpapers.

Dark night is basically a custom JF update from what I understand.

It was the only way to get the red clock in the upper right hand side, so if you change from it you need to flash back to a jf stock update to get rid of the red clock

You will have to ask the theme creator for more info though...

My theme has instructions both in side the MoOn_DUST zip and in the thread. I use JFRC33_V1.42 and i moved all ringers to S.D. This will also help with installing a large theme.

Well, just in time to preview and judge the themes.

After switching from aero to original theme, contents of my folders doubled. Any clue as to why?

Changing Fonts

Here's my question, I'd like to switch out the fonts in the Rom I'm using is the Bowtie from Nebula (loving it by the way). I'd just like to switch fonts is all. What would I need to do. I read a few post a while back in some other threads that to use metamorph but the apply says for advanced users. I don't think I'm on advanced level yet but I would still like to learn.

Metamorph is really easy to use.
Download the free version from the market, once its installed you can download a zip with fonts in it then just apply the don't you want to use.
EDIT:
Search the threads for (metamorph changing fonts on the fly) and there is a zip file you can download there to use with metamorph.

You can also flash this (attached) through Clockwork. What I do is, open up this zip (use program 7zip, if you don't already, on your computer),
Take any font, rename it to DroidSans.ttf or DroidSans-Bold.ttf.. etc, copy and replace any fonts inside this zip, then flash.
Or, you can just check out the mother of all xda font threads: 200 Flashable Font Packs
I think ComfortAA (the attached one) is still my fav though.

dude I installed this font from your zip an im stuck in the samgung logo.
I had other fonts before w/o problems....
anyone else with the same problem?

hm-- I'm pretty sure the attachment was straight from that thread-- are you flashing 'normally' through clockwork?

ComfortAA is my current favorite as well. I use root explorer to copy the DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf files on my sd card and paste them over the default files in the system/font folder. When I restart the phone, my font is there.

I bought Root System Font installer from the market. Over 200 fonts, you can preview the font and its easy.

[Q] MIUI theme .zip or .mtz?

I have not used MIUI in the last couple of months, and it looks like there is a new theme system. My question is, some of the themes are available in .zip and .mtz format. Can I use the .mtz themes just like the .zip ones and put them in MIUI/theme to apply the theme? Thanks!

Yes, you can! I have both zip and mtz files in my /Miui/themes folder.

.mtz is the more current and preferred format although both should technically work (at least for the moment.)

hi there, im trying to set up my MIUI tripNraver rom with a new theme and it wont recognise the .zip or .mtz formats when i try and import from /miui/themes....
anyone know what could be going on?

[Q] Help from fellow MIUI users

I updated to the latest MIUI - but before I did I deleted my old MIUI folder that I had on the SD card. Now this has caused me all sorts of problems when it comes to themes. I have had to create all the folders myself for anything to work. Wallpapers would not download until a created a "wallpaper" folder!
So can someone let me know all the names and the locations of the folders inside the MIUI folder on you SD card?
So far I have:
sdcard/MIUI/theme
sdcard/MIUI/wallpaper
Looking forward to some help on this, cheers!

[new themes] stock jelly bean vanilla and kitkat themes (and more!)

Hello to everybody!!!
Finally the mod is complete!!!
A true new vanilla (holo stock) style theme is ready and can be installed on our device like a simple application!!!
No root required, no change in system directory, no strange operation to do! just install the APK in attachment.
You will have a new theme in the list, it is similar to stock JB theme.
It is for Italian version (E975) but it should works on other versions too! (please send feedback about)

P.S. I found that is possible to make and install how much theme we want on our phone! LG rules this time!

Hello,
simply APK tool. I've tried to rename it (not only the pack, but decompiling and re-compiling the entire smali content) but then, it was not recognized by the launcher. Now I'm full of work and I can't spent time on this. maybe in the next week I can attempt to make a better mod.
Anyway, without tool, you can just substitute icon you want in APK file with winrar

I threw in a bunch of new icons in "drawable-xhdpi" with winrar and then pushed the apk back to system but it didnt work so i guess i have to rename all icons to corresponding original names if i want it to work Thanks for the tip!

Ok. So here are my conclusions:
- It looks great and it is the best thing you can install on your optimus g
- You used odexed file so it need corresponding .odex file which probably means that you cannot change name without: a) deodexing or b) using correct .odex file.
- You used icons with too small resolution so they are not looking so good as they should be

Yes you are right! mine is just an idea to implement. I will try to deodex the file, modify it and to make a copy as a new theme. If it will work, for sure a better theme can be done, But now I don't wont to spent time on one of the stock theme (as the mode work now), just becouse I dont wont to corrupt any file in system directory to avoid problem with future update
next week for sure I will have much time to implement it. If someone could help I will be very gratefull

You need a root devices. Just copy the attached file in system/app folder and replace the original biz theme apk. (remember to make a backup before!!!!!!)
Please be sure to assign RW-R-R permission. Then restart device!!!

I've no much time, so I will be really greatfull if someone can found a way to create new theme without overwrite existing ones.
Theme can have some imperfections, for example app drawer in landscape is not modified. Please consider this a beta.

ive already download all files>>extracted( Z01,Z02 n Z03 + zip file)..but when i try to extract zip file an error occur..(extract via 7zip)

Hello, i've tryied again and the files in attachment still works. First step is to extract all the files in the same folder. Then you will have 1 zip and 3 other file. Now just extract the zip one (I've used win zip).
Anyway... In the next hours i will post the new version! So you can simply wait
In the new version you don't have to substitute a stock theme... But you have just to copy the apk in system folder to have a all new vanilla extra theme! coming very soon!

Hi i ve modified the original vanilla theme from antonio to do xperia, sense5 and iphone themes.
They work on my e975 without root as the original apk.

I ve updated the iphone theme previously posted to add more icons, application background transparency and new drawer icon.
Also i port the icons and background from crystal 2 theme (originaly made by DaRk_dOg for cm roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951690 ) which is the best theme ever.
