[Q] Help from fellow MIUI users - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I updated to the latest MIUI - but before I did I deleted my old MIUI folder that I had on the SD card. Now this has caused me all sorts of problems when it comes to themes. I have had to create all the folders myself for anything to work. Wallpapers would not download until a created a "wallpaper" folder!
So can someone let me know all the names and the locations of the folders inside the MIUI folder on you SD card?
So far I have:
sdcard/MIUI/theme
sdcard/MIUI/wallpaper
Looking forward to some help on this, cheers!

Here you go :
/sdcard/MIUI/backup/AllBackup
/sdcard/MIUI/browser
/sdcard/MIUI/music/album
/sdcard/MIUI/music/lyric
/sdcard/MIUI/music/mp3
/sdcard/MIUI/ringtone
/sdcard/MIUI/sound_recorder/call_rec
/sdcard/MIUI/theme
/sdcard/MIUI/wallpaper

Cheers, glad someone finally answered!

[Q] MIUI theme .zip or .mtz?

I have not used MIUI in the last couple of months, and it looks like there is a new theme system. My question is, some of the themes are available in .zip and .mtz format. Can I use the .mtz themes just like the .zip ones and put them in MIUI/theme to apply the theme? Thanks!
I would ask this over there but have not signed up yet.
Yes, you can! I have both zip and mtz files in my /Miui/themes folder.

.mtz is the more current and preferred format although both should technically work (at least for the moment.)

I was using MIUI very briefly when it first came out and what you're talking about wasn't possible then. I don't know what has changed in the MIUI world but if it wasn't possible then, is properly not possible now. When you create a folder I believe you can only place apps, contacts and bookmarks.
Oh and by the way, this is the wrong section to post questions. Next time go to the Q&A section and start a thread there.......otherwise go to the Development section and find the MIUI rom and then ask your question inside that thread.

[Q] MIUI theme in .zip format

I am not able to add the MIUI themes available in .zip format to the theme manager. I placed the themes in MIUI/themes folders but the themes are not displayed. I tried to import the theme using the theme manager and it still is not displayed. As suggested in some threads I also changed .zip to .mtz and still no luck. Has anyone else faced the same issue? I am currently running MIUI - RC7c.
MIUI rocks. Waiting eagerly for the 1.5.6 update. .
No one is facing this issue?

me too, i have the same issue. but still no solution
try to rename it in "themename".mtz
and put it into miui/theme
If the zip contains a single file with .mtz extension you must extract that file first. Or rename the zip to .mtz as has already been mentioned.
Wow I had given up on this post and moved on . Thanks for the answer guys but I figured out that I was facing issues with incompatiblities between 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 themes. That is why I was not able to see them. Btw jumba your theme for MIUI is excellent. Good thing I still have my sgs , trying it out right now.

[Q] [HELP NEEDED] accountsandsyncsetting.odex ODEX file

All:
I've accidentally deleted accountsandsyncseetings app using Titanium backup on my Galaxy-Y. To restore it, I've copied accountsandsyncseetings.apk at /system/app folder using 'root explorer', but I'm not seeing 'Account and Sync Settings' option in Settings yet.
After looking at /system/app folder, I realized that each apk has a corresponding odex file. Do I need the ODEX file for accountsandsyncseetings? If yes, where do I get it.
Information:
Model: GalaxyY (India)
Build: 2.3.6 Touchwiz
Thanks in advance.

Do I just need to copy it in /system/app and reboot my cell? Or are there any other steps involved?
Thanks.

Thanks a lot.
However, even after copying .apk and .odex files in system/app directory and setting up the permissions and rebooting, I still do not see 'Accounts and Sync Settings' in my Settings menu. I've downloaded the apk from a spreadsheet provided on xda-forums for Galaxy Y.
Please look at the attached screenshots and help me to get this setting back.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
Silvane already told. If you want too much specifics - download the odex file and copy it to your sd card. Now open root explorer and select rw mode on top. Now goto sd card and find where you kept the odex and copy it. Now go back and open system/app and paste it here. And i assume you have the apk of it already in the system/app folder. Now restart. If it does not come, make a cwm backup (you must have upto 300 mb of free space - it is advised but 200 will also do). After backup you can restore. You will get it back.

Thanks Androhacker! I've followed all the steps mentioned above except 'cwm backup and restore'. I'm not sure what it is but I'll try to google it.
Again, thanks!

Thanks. I've tried my best to google it but I can't find cwm for Galaxy Y. I don't see it in the list of supported devices on cwm website.
Please point me to the instruction page for installing cwm. I'm sorry for the barrage of questions, but I'm very much new with Android development.
Well cwm for sgy is just scattered all over the forum lol. sorry I don't have a specific link but it's easy to find. :x
Btw I think the problem is the apk. It might not be for SGY. Because that spreadsheet isn't for SGY specifically. Ask someone to upload one for you. Can't get it myself. On phone again. :x
Oh and make sure the apk is from stock, not deodexed, to anyone who wants to help and upload for him.

You might have been right but there is no apk file given. We say that he should use only the odex not the apk.
