When using the text messaging tool that comes with the Cingular/ATT Tilt 2 (not the one from HTC), sometimes when I am reading a message thread, I will select several messages for deletion, select "DELETE" but they won't delete. When I leave the thread, all of the messages within that thread will appear to have been deleted. But if I open the HTC messaging tool, they are all there.
Anyone else have this problem, and is there a fix for it?

I upgraded to WM6 at the weekend and I've got a couple of issues. I'm not sure if this is for all WM6 roms or just the one I have ( LVSW(2007/04/23) RUU_Hermes_WWE_3.30.0.1). I've got the following problems:
1) When I open any message it skips to the bottom of the message which is really frustrating. How can I stop this?
2) I've hidden my sim contacts but when I compose a text message and type a recipient they still show up. How can I hide them completely?
3) I'd like the left button when viewing my inbox to be changed to "New" rather than "Delete".
Any help on the above 3 would be great. I've had a search for these issues/changes but I could not find anything
I have owned my touch pro 2 for a little under one month now and I love it. I do how ever have a problem with the way txt messages work. I tried to use a program i liked on my old HTC touch. The program did not work.
Basically I am looking for a threaded message in the 3d flo screen. I do not like that I have to scroll through 6 messages from the same conversation to find a message from someone not affiliated with that conversation.
Any ideas of what program to install?
P.S. this phone is t-mobile branded if that helps.
Default TF3D (Non T-Mobile) works as you require if that helps.
No real suggestions other than to remind you you can look at messages through the individual contact to see the messages exchangedd ONLY with that particular contact and not have to slide through the different messages on the message tab. You can also tap on the "all messages" and it will give you the messages grouped by conversation, not individually.
1. text messages
a. is there a way to view messages as they come in(the old way) and not as conversations?
b. sometimes conversations show up in a nice font and other times they show up in comic sans. what's up with that?
2. messaging in general
a. is there a way to de-couple sms from mms so they aren't grouped together?
b. my main htc tab shows i have 1 unread message but there are none. rebooting the phone does not get rid of it. is there a way to fix it without deleting all my messages?
Solved 2b.

I recently used Jeyo Mobile Companion to move all my text messages (sent and received) older than a certain date to a seperate folder. Now, at random, when I send a text message, that entire thread of messages will delete from my phone. All my other messages from other contacts are not affected, only the thread of text with the contact I texted.
Of course I did all of this before I took a vacation, and am not currently able to undo the move of messages.
I checked the archive folder to see if maybe my missing threads had been moved to there, but they have not, they are just gone. This only occurs when I send a message, it has not happened otherwise. And it is at random, not every thread deletes. Let me know if you need more details. Oh, stock AT&T ROM, WM 6.5. Thanks.
Nobody else has experinced this? I'd appreciate any suggestions for restoring the lost texts (if possible) and for preventing it from happening again.
Just an idea. Not sure since I don't use the particular software you mentioned to auto delete messages.
The reason for your problem may stem from having threaded messaging enabled. If you have it enabled, this means that in the default WinMo messaging app, you can't delete particular messages. You have to delete the whole thread. It's all or nothing. (Note, it's possible to delete individual messages via Manila)
Disable threaded messaging with Advanced Config tool and see if your problem disappears.
I moved the messages back to the correct folders (sent and inbox) and everything seems to have corrected itself.
I have a Tilt 2 and am running the stock ROM with TouchFlo 3D. The unread text message indicator is stuck indicating at least one unread message at all times, even if there is not. If "n" is the number of actual unread text messages, then the phone always displays "n+2" as the number of unread messages.
I deleted all my text messages, hoping this would fix it, but even with no messages in my inbox, the phone continued to indicate 1 unread message.
Not a critical issue, but a little annoying. Is there any way to fix this?

I have the same issue, although I'm up to 4 unread messages. I've had to use that fix way too many times to fix this issues. I'm using T-mo stock 6.5 and I thought that the update was supposed to FIX this issue! I've noticed this problem occur when my messaging box has a lot of messages in it. I was trying to delete old messages once (which took over 30 minutes to complete - way too long) and thats when two of the unread messages appeared.
