I want the Incredible 2 I wish my Incredible blew up then I would buy the Incredible 2 in a heart beat. Right now there is no reason to grab an Incredible 2, but its damn sexy!. I wish it had a dual(or quad)core and 4G the main features I'm looking for in my next phone. I will have 4G coverage by the end of the year and I have been saving my upgrade since Feb 3rd. Anyone else with Incredible 2 blue balls? just me? I'm on the edge I went to order one(in the store and online) 4 times only to chicken out during the last minute.
Updated
Okay I have a plan.
I'm going to wait a month for Motorola Droids to come out (3, X2, Bionic?) at witch time the Incredible will, hopefully, decrease in price similar to the Thunderbolt after Inc2 Release. Then I'm going to buy the Inc2 off contract maybe 400ish given that it was lowered and use that until the iPhone comes out. I will then whore my upgrade with 50$ discount sell the phone when it is in backorder. Profit!?! Wait until HTC Sensation ish phone comes out on Verizon buy it off contract (I love HTC too much). Hand down my Inc2 to my mom (I paying for her phone service) so during the time with my Inc2 she will have my Inc (I got my Incredible using her upgrade then using an smartphone upgrade to get her a PalmPre so I received two upgrades last year) The beginning of next year I will use my moms upgrade to get the Incredible 3 (4G quad hopefully) then hand down my phone once again.
Similar to the Incredible S (Europe gets the phone first) I believe Verizon will have their Sensation possibly with NFC. HTC said the their NFC device will release after their Sensation and given that Verizon does like to add extra features to their devices (Since you can't convert a GSM device to CDMA you might as well make a new one case in point Inc, Evo3D, Tbolt exception of Incredible 2 due to its global nature) I assume Verizon's Sensation will be that NFC version coming out Q3
Do you think I can profit with the new iPhone?
As far as I can see, the only major differences are the screen size and the faster GPU.
If it gets rooted with S-off I will buy one off ebay or craigslist. If not I am content with my Incredible for now .. no 4G here until next year and I still havent decided to stay with Verizon once my contract is up.
Just wait until your contract is up, sell your Inc, and get the Incredible 4G with a quad core Tegra 3.
Inc2 doesn't impress me... Thunderbolt is too thick, there's no 4G here.
Got nowhere to go.

Incredible 2 has been the best phone purchase I have ever made.
I mainly just like the world phone aspect of it, the faster GPU, and vertically centered screen. Other than that, I prefer the size, smaller 3.7" screen and design of the original Incredible. I'm not really seeing the point of a larger screen and additional bulk if it's not also a higher resolution. I really couldn't care less about the front camera.
It's actually rather disappointing to me that the trend seems to be shifting more towards bigger, bulkier phones. My options for a sleek, pocket-able device will become more limited as time marches on.

That would be awesome but i don't think htc would ever use tegra's processor's because all of their phones have qualcomm's chip in there. I find tegra's proccesor to relatively slow actually my htc droid incredible smokes my friends atrix 4g when it comes to smoothness tegra feels kind of slow.
The Dinc2 looks nice but it doesn't seem to be much of a step up from the original Dinc. The Thunderbolt looks like a great phone but from what I've heard it's a battery devouring monster. So I'll stick with my Dinc until something much, much better comes along.

For the first time ever, I'm not looking forward to the time when I can upgrade my phone. The Dinc is as good as it gets once you get it set up the way you want it, and it's the only phone out there that I've seen that has the trackball, which I've come to rely on hugely for navigating text fields for editing. Not having 4G isn't a concern to me, because I'm really not interested in jacking my phone bill up even more than it is now, and 3G is good enough for my needs anyways.
I'll be sticking with my Dinc until it's no longer mechanically sound enough for daily use.
My Dinc is the first phone I've owned that I wasn't ready to replace 8 months after I bought it. I can actually see it lasting through one more generation of phones. By then maybe I can get a quad core with a battery that last two days!

I originally had a plan with 4 lines leaving my mom with my sisters thunderbolt so she can get the Sensation ish one, but she loves her thunderbolt too much lol
the iPhone 5 will be a big hit because everyone has been waiting for it on Verizon. If Verizon is making slightly more phones than AT&Tmo with their old iPhone then I'm sure there are a lot of people waiting for the new iPhone on verizon. Thus creating long back orders. If the iPhone has a new screen size, thinner, with dualcore I may profit (okay lets be honest they can have a new logo and it will sell like hotcakes). I have another phone line upgrade next month (my sister's bf which has the first Droid lol yeah they're all on my plan) I could convince him to hold off for quadcores and profit with two iPhones lol
hopefully its a iPhone 5 and not an iPhone 4G, but that wouldn't affect my idea much
rumor CDMA Sensation (left) and GSM Evo3D(right))

I feel your pain brother. I have felt this way for years about phones but this Dinc is different for me.
I really love everything about the phone now that it's all customized to my liking. The center button is one of the main reasons why I won't upgrade cause I use it for music track/album advance while riding my motorcycle and I just can't give that up. I guess I could make it so the volume buttons do it but I'm not willing to give them up either. I like it just the way it is.

As many if you have read, some pretty amazing new phones are coming out early next year including the dual core Snapdragon and Tegra 2 models. With dedicated GPU's, higher clock speeds and reduced die sizes (better battery life), these are sure to make our EVO's look like PS2's by comparison. The tech temptation will be extreme.
So, the question is, will you stick with your EVO:
1) Until it dies of old age.
2) Until your contract runs out and you can get a new discounted phone on contract.
3) Go for early upgrade (I think you can do it after a year if you are a Sprint Premier Customer).
4) Bite the bullet and pay full price just to have the latest and greatest.
Personally, I'll probably do the annual upgrade. I can never resist new tech, but I still can't see paying $600 for a new phone off contract ;-)

I probably will keep it for a good while, I mean I'll get another phone, but keep my Evo... it's just so reliable
Before the evo I always used phones with physical keyboards. It took me a while to get used to typing on the evo. However, now I don't know if I could go back to a physical keyboard since typing on this is so fast.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Well...I paid out of pocket for my Evo as well as my wife's(both bought second hand about 2 months after release), I did this since we had the extra cash and we realised that dual core models were around the corner(and most likely carrying a hefty price) so why not save our upgrades for that! Yes we both love our Evo's and will keep them for sure as back ups for a long time, BUT you better believe when the 2nd Gen dual core devices(early adopters always seem to get screwed) hit Sprint shelves we will upgrade!
I have to have the latest device from HTC with Sprint...so as soon as something new comes out better than the Evo I will have it. I will still have an Evo on my account as well though. (4 lines open)
I will wait until my contract runs out (or as soon as I can get a discounted price) and get a new one. Not because I don't love the EVO, I just need the latest and greatest as I'm sure a lot of people on this site do.
I'm married to my Evo, but I might keep a younger, faster sancha on the side...
has anyone really stayed dedicated to their phone when the new bright shiny faster model comes out? the evo is probably htc's best phone to date "been rocking htc since the 6700" and when they come out with something better, ill put this bad boy on metro and make my money back like the past 4 htc's ive owned
Love it but not married to it lolz
I usually "upgrade" phones whenever the Full discount from my Service Provider is up.
I will probably upgrade as soon as I can get the newer "better" phone on the cheap. I WILL NOT pay $600 for a phone
depends on if a phone comes out that just blows me away before my upgrade discount is available in june.
$200 was a great price point for the EVO. If they do the same for a dual core, I'll be using my Sprint Premiere after a year.
Depends on several things. I paid full price for the evo and im contract free now.
So chances are I would change. I like the evo but I also like new "toys"

I bought my Evo 2 weeks after launch. Had it during that up until the G2 was released. Sold the Evo and bought the G2. My main reason was the physical keyboard. I was tired of the hassle of touch typing so I gave in and went with this phone. While I sometimes miss the larger screen, I am extremely happy with my decision.

not stablely. it can make it to 1.57 stable with the right rom otherwise its 1.489 the evo can be clocked to 1.257 stable again with the right rom but the snapdragon in the g2 is a new updated version of our snapdragon that has been severlly underclocked.
New phones are usually first shown at the trade shows early in the year like CES. They usually don't become available until Spring like the Incredible which was April or May, and the EVO on June 4th. If that holds true next year, we probably won't have anything new available for about another 5-6 months. The biggest thing for me is screen size. I've used my buddies Incredible, and a couple friends have the Epic and I really don't want anything with a screen any smaller than the EVO. I am a premier customer so I get upgrades every year. I love new toys but it would have to be pretty great to pull me away from my EVO.
Indeed some awesome phones coming out and I'm definitely a sucker for new toys but I will wait until something really catches my interest in every aspect of the device. The Shift talk has got me thinking about physical keys again even though I was convinced I was over them. Basically just looking for a new true step up. The Evo will still get use in some manner though. I love this phone so I won't just jump at the next big thing unless it really is necessary. Then again, I have a problem with passing up cool stuff.

I usually buy a new phone once a year when my upgrade date comes along. It's my "major purchase" of the year. I will sometimes wait an extra six months or so if I hear a new phone is coming out that I think I'll really like.
I just upgraded to the Evo last month. I gave my Hero to my girlfriend so she could get rid of her Palm Pre. We're both happier now. When the time comes I will upgrade and give her my Evo. She likes new phones, but she doesn't need to be as far along the curve as I feel the need to be.
Hey guys, I currently have an eris but I'm looking to upgrade for my x-mas present. I can't decide between the Incredible and the Droid 2. Is the incredible "old" or will it still keep up with the newer android phones? Thanks for any feedback.
In my opinion, the DI is still a great phone, but, there should be the next gen phones coming out soon. There is a rumor (I know, it is just a rumor) that the Nexus S might be coming to Verizon, there is another possibility that the Stealth V ( SCH-i510) will be making it way to us as well. I had the Eris and made the switch to the Fascinate a couple of months ago. that gave me the guts to experiment with my Eris, I rooted and install Cyanogenmod which madethat phone pretty quick. If you are able to, I would do that and hold off until new models start to show up. But if you just can't wait, the DI is still a great phone with rather plentiful selection of roms and other great addons.

I love my incredible but if I could choose I'd look into a Droid 2 because I love emulators lol just play with them both the incredible has a great community and I'm sure the Droid 2 does as well just look around the forums and if possible play with the phones. Also the Inc will probably keep up with phones I mean come-on the Eris runs gingerbread now

Thanks for opinions so far. I have the Tazzfroyo rom and my eris and it makes it run 100% better than stock. The most I use my phone for is for loading the full verrsions of websites, and it sometimes gets really laggy when I slide around the page. Is it like that with the faster phones?
Just to compare at how awesome the Incredible is and HTC in general. The Eris is being bought back by Verizon right now for $132. The Droid 2 on the other hand $72, and the Incredible $152. Just something to consider. I personally would trade the phone back to Verizon along with any old phones you may have laying around you may get 5$-10$ for but it adds up, take out a new two year contract and get the Incredible for 1 cent at best buy and you get to use that credit from the Eris towards your bill or w.e. Just my two cents. I just read that even though I have a two year contract, after one year I can go and upgrade opening a new two year contract paying two year price but whatever i didn't know that i thought you had to wait the two years, this is something they don't like to tell you I guess.

Verizon allows you to renew your contract somewhere around 3-6 months prior to the actual contract expiration.
I had a Nexus and switched to the D2 for the keyboard (emulators and long emails) and great docks, but those weren't enough to overcome the severe lack of development for it. You will not find CM on the D2 ever; it's just not possible. In addition, the D2 community is very small and very immature (the drama here is nothing compared to the D2). I gave up and bought an Incredible. I'm never leaving HTC and CM again.
I would get an Incredible. I prefer the look of Sense, and I like bar phones like this as well. That's just my opinion though. I know, not much lol...

Hey that's what I'm looking for, opinions!
I'm going to hit up the Verizon store next week and make my choice. I'm kind of deciding between the Droid X and the Incredible now. I really like the keyboard and hdmi out on the Droid X, but it's so big! I'll have to use two hands to hold it up to my ear when I talk on it
And then I keep looking at pictures of the Incredible. It's such a well designed phone IMO. I love everything about it, it's like my eris on steriods

Opinionated Opinion
I just got my droid x yesterday to give my dinc to my girlfriend who shattered her droid. The droid x is way hefty for phone calls and in the pocket, though when in your hand just feels comfortable and well built. The screen, tft or not, is brighter and clearer than my amoled dinc. The keyboards are a draw because the extra real estate is nice on the x but the sense keyboard is much quicker due to its integration of long presses for numbers.
When running a specific application I cannot tell the difference with speeds though the omap does minimally better with graphics, bfd to me. However, mulitasking is where the snapdragon beats the crap out of the omap. I don't know what it is but the droid x seems to get bottlenecked and lock up for sometimes seconds at a time when too many things are running in the background. I never have this problem with the dinc. It is starting to piss me off. I am going to root and try custom roms. The cameras are a draw. Droid x has slightly higher frame rate for 720p recording, don't care. HTC phones will always have a bigger support community than moto.
My ultimate opinion is take that money give it to a relative to hold for you until late February or early March and see what LTE will bring. Otherwise you might be pissed. If you are too anxious, I don't think either phone will let you down.

Right size for a phone, adequate size for a tool like RDP -- my most intense app by Wyse.

I agree, the only possible downside is the rumors that verizon might do away with unlimited data for LTE and start a tiered program. Not a big deal for the average user, though not many people here are average users. It might end up costing you more.
As the Incredible comes up on its birthday, I've started thinking about other phones to move to. The Thunderbolt is an obvious consideration, as well as the Incredible S. I'm assuming that both will be supported by ROM developers fairly - maybe not to the extent that the Inc is supported, but I think there will be a few choices.
I used another upgrade on my family plan to get the Incredible, so I have an upgrade waiting for whenever I find a phone that's compelling enough to upgrade to (or I break the Incredible...). The Thunderbolt is looking a little more appealing than the Incredible S now, especially because its only a little bit bigger and has 4g for the same data price as the Inc S (at least as i understand it... $30/mo for unlimited LTE, which I assume includes 3g as well?)
Just wondering what you guys had in mind in terms of upgrading. Thoughts?
I'm not planning on changing anytime soon, if they seriously work out a lot of the issues in the TB *maybe* but I doubt it.
The only reason I'd want to upgrade is for 4G, and it's going to be a year or 2 before it gets to my area. To be honest, 3G speeds are perfectly fine for me. Can stream youtube flawless as well as hulu. More speed the better, but no push for me to upgrade.
I think ill get the iPhone 6... JK, I'm on a 2yr contract with my Incredible started 4/29/2010 (got on launch day). So whatever is out in 2012 I guess. Hopefully my dinc will last another year. Surprised I haven't broken it yet.
But how do you go about upgrading to another phone out of contract? Like the thunderbolt, would I just pay the retail price in full (rumored @ $750) and keep the current contract?

Pretty much. I bought the Droid 2 when I came over to Verizon and after a few months bought an Incredible full price (the Droid 2 almost covered it via eBay). You just change your device on the website and it doesn't affect your contract.
Thunderbolt For Me!!!
It looks like a lot of devs are going towards the TB. That will probably be the biggest factor in my decision making.
I'll probably use this last annual upgrade to get the TB on a one year contract. With any luck, those getting the TB now will be grandfathered with the $29.99 unlimited LTE for future equipment upgrades.
I will likely upgrade on 1yr contract with TB also. I am not up for upgrade until August, but an account rep approved an early upgrade. The way things are shaping up, it really could be 3rd quarter before anything significantly better drops on VZW. At that point, I could sell the TB and buy the next great phone at retail.
Id just love to have gingerbread with sense, dont need a new phone as my dinc has been great since release date!

I have a DX and a DINC,
I honestly do not see much of a reason to upgrade just yet. with the exception of 4G and front facing cameras, these new phones are not exactly blowing the doors off of the previous models. I love my DINC, and I plan on waiting at least for a while until this winter/next spring..I'm hoping that by then the new phones will be a bit more of an upgrade.
Besides, I at least need to wait to see which devices will or will not have locked bootloaders.

I just bought my Incredible a week ago, I love the dev support and how smooth the phone is, hate the battery life.

The screen was nice and the size wasn't bad...but it can't touch the inc.
Stock it was loaded with so much bloat that it lagged horribly. There were some great roms for it though.
Overall my experience is that I had to rom my X to make it as fast as a stock inc.

My dream would be for an HTC Tegra 2 phone but I know it will never happen due to HTC's relationship with Qualcomm. So something Pyramid-esq I'm guessing that'll be coming out this summer.

The screen was nice and the size wasn't bad...but it can't touch the inc.
Stock it was loaded with so much bloat that it lagged horribly. There were some great roms for it though.
Overall my experience is that I had to rom my X to make it as fast as a stock inc.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I will stick with the Incredible then.
my next phone is the thunderbolt. i'm really excited to wait in line at 8:30 am for it tomorrow.
i'm upgrading to 4g for the same reason i upgraded to 802.11n. the population density in the city is just too high. all the cells are just overloaded. verizon's not bad, but AT&T is just horrendous. i actually got AT&T to waive the ETF on my iPhone plan so i could move to VZW and get an OG Droid. anyway, back when i had an 802.11g router my signal strength was fine, but the speeds were just terrible. a 20 second kismac scan just now reveals 45 different wireless networks coursing through my apartment. after moving to wireless n the difference was huge and i'm hoping the same effect will be seen after moving to LTE. i'm also hoping that my signal strength will be better on the 700 mHz band. my office in the Financial District has a not-very-good signal and i hear 700 mHz penetrates further into the built environment.
finally, i'm really stoked to go to a 4.3" screen. i bought an HD2 and took it abroad so i could have a phone with a local sim while traveling. although mobile data speeds in india and bangladesh were pretty awful, i really enjoyed using android on that giant HD2 display. a higher resolution screen would be nice, but i'm ready to move on from my DInc so that's not a requirement for me.
see you in the thunderbolt forums.
I really want the galaxy s 2, hopefully it will come out on Verizon by June 18th

For all of you that want the Thunderbolt:
Save $70 and use it for the extended battery; Amazon will be selling them at midnight for $179 with a 2 year contract

I'm beyond ready to upgrade my OG Droid, which has served me well for two whole years, and I'm wondering if you all would still recommend it now, in late November 2011. In a world of Rezounds, Razrs, Bionics, and eventually Galaxy Nexus's (Nexi?) will I end up feeling like I'm already out of date if I buy a Dinc2?
I see that people on this and other forums really like the DI2. And I see that I can have root, and a fun selection of ROM's to play with, like I'm used to with my OG Droid. I think I'd miss all of that with one of the newer phones, at least until all of that gets worked out. And of course, you can buy the Incredible 2 for next to nothing, while the "hot" phones are close to $300, even with an upgrade. I don't have 4G where I live out in the stix, and probably won't for a while, probably not until after my next upgrade.
Your thoughts?
In your case absolutely
Tap'n on miui incredible 2
I recommend you get a Inc2 locally and hold on to your upgrade. I got mine for 150 a couple months ago.

FREAKIN' GO FOR IT!!!! IT'S THE BEST PHONE EVER!!!! lol
Well my og Droid was a good phone but I got the dinc2 toward the end of Sept and its so sweet. Its easy to get root and custom rom going. In fact I choose this phone mainly because miui had recently been ported to it. Its super smooth and really don't even need over clocking.
I've learned a lot about android since I got my inc2 as a replacement for my og inc and I wouldn't trade that
Lol, I was in the exact same situation. Coming from an OG Droid, and not really knowing what to wait for. I don't have 4g at my house either and that was pretty much the decision maker. I didn't feel like paying for something I couldn't use. Plus I wanted a 4" screen. Its the perfect screen size. I bought my wife a Droid X and myself the DINC2. Had it for about a month now, and I'm loving it. One thing though, I don't care for how the back comes off. It basically splits the phone in half... And feels kinda cheap. Also I bought a otter box commuter case but it felt too slippery, so I got a body glove case too lol. This case made the phone perfect.

There's not a single phone currently available or soon to be available that I'd take over the Inc2. You can keep your dual cores, NFC chips, 4.3+ inch screens, etc. To me, the Inc2 is the perfect combination of form factor, features and performance.
I agree with above. The only reason I would dump this phone is if I left Verizon and got my hands on a euro GS2 or Nexus. This phone leaves nothing to be desired.
I will say though that it looks outclassed on Verizon shelves lately. I still think it is the best and totally underrated.

Came from the HTC Eris, loving the DI2 & got mine free - could've gone with a bigger 4.3" device running 4G, except I get poor 3G coverage at the house while the zip code is 4G, if I walk 4 blocks west, I get a 5x faster coverage and enhanced signal coverage.
By the time my line is ready for an upgrade in 2013, I'm sure there will be plenty of 4G global device with better battery standby & the bugs will be ironed out beyond Ice Cream Sandwich, etc. Otherwise, this has more than enough reserve power as an advanced mobile phone plus a few, extra functions on the go - I have no intentions of wishing for a HDMI hookup to watch Hulu Plus, etc. on big screen HDTV & then ***** about poor Dolby DSP tuning.
Planning to surprise DW with one (DI2 in white or maybe red ??) for the holiday even though she barely manage to remember how to use her feature phone. There are virtually no FRU or pre-owned units available on VZW's site (except for warranty exchanges ....) which is another good indicator of how solid it is.
+1 however, on the battery cover - although with 2 days of standby time, unlike my buddies bragging about their TBolts, I don't worry about pulling, switching to a spare & charging battery every few hours - or, spend $$ for the brick (bulky extended battery & cover + oversized case/cover)
Thanks!
Thanks to all who replied. I'm leaning towards getting this phone. I do want to get into the store and see a Rezound in person, take a look at that 1280x720 screen.
I have had the HTC D Eris, HTc INC1, and now INC2.
I can't say that the Rezound is that great of a phone..
I know the Inc2 is almost a year old, in April? i think..?
but it's a great phone, I love root, and it seems you do too, and this phone has a great variety of ROMs and some incredible Devs.
will the rezound eventually be what the inc2 is, yes.
I remeber when inc2 had no root, and ppl thought it would never come with software.
it's ult. up to you.
I would sell the inc1 and buy a second hand inc2, then get the rezound, but hey thats me
Well, I pulled the trigger on a new DI2. Got it for free on Black Friday at Target of all places. Was walking through, not really thinking about or looking at phones, but happened to see the sign for some of the phones they were offering for free on Friday only.
And so far, I love it! It seems real fast, apps pop up almost instantly, nothing ever bogs down or lags in any way. I'm sticking with the stock ROM for now, no real complaints with it. But we'll see how long before I get the itch to start messing around and load up a different ROM. Maybe I can hold out for CM9, or another ICS ROM.
I own the Inc2 and I haven't yet seen a phone worth upgrading too. Every other phone has something I don't like and I'm hoping we see some all metal, super thin, dual-core phones early next year. Like many DINC2 owners I bought mine because this past summer because I couldn't wait any longer for a dual-core phone. Now that they are out, there are other quips, like the nexus missing a few features and the razr's uncomfortable design.
If you can't wait any longer, I would get the droid incredible 2, rhyme, or resound. Just be forewarned that they each have their small faults. I would recommend waiting a few more months to see what kind of ice cream sandwich goodness is released.

Well, I would personally recommend the rezound as it is a dual core with beats (for those that care. I personally don't) and will be getting ICS in the upcoming months. It will also have the latest sense when ICS comes out for it, and I'm excited to see what kind of spin HTC will put on that bad boy.

Love the Dinc2, and would have a hard time giving it up at the moment, but.... The Rezound would be hard to pass up. That would be the only other phone I would consider at this time (not even interested in the Galaxy Nexus, sorry no love for Samsung from me lol). If I had 4g, I would be very tempted to make the switch, but I doubt that 4g will be in my neighborhood anytime soon, so the Dinc2 is safe in my home
dinc 2
Go for it, it is an awesome phone. The dinc 2 is one of a few DLNA capable devices on the market and in the future that will be a big deal. The dinc was my first android phone and it was good but the dinc 2 is better. I looked at the rezound and the razr and while good phones I could not justify the $300 tag when I was able to get the dinc 2 for free. Check out my post abot the dinc 2 from yesterday on the tv out thread.

A bit related, but how does the DI2 compare for someone who wants to upgrade from a D2? I need global capabilities and this, beside the D3 seem like my only options(Droid Pro is a downgrade in some ways, hence not on my list). Thanks.

Swore I would NEVER Do A Droid.
I got my DIncI $Free Back in March since my LG Fathom was giving me issues.
Got assimilated.
Dark DIncII arrived in Sept.
$50USD and was rooted the weekend BEFORE the hboot.98.
Loved it so much that Reda DIncII was a Black Friday deal. $Free.
Now my next upgrade for familly plan will be in Jan.
The rep I spoke with told me that the Rezound uses MOST of that GIG of RAM for the Beat to even TRY to make it sound any good.
The amount of people that are sending back whole unit for because of issues with the overpriced earbuds.
Yea, it's a wonder that this unit isn't pulled already and sold as CPO.
Either way VZW just wrights it off as a loss and keeps trying to hump the AppHole.
I thought that "Denial of Access to User Up Gradable Storage" was an AppHole copyright.
Now Willy PHone 7 thinks it's a way to sell more PHones with different storage capacity.
What a bunch of crap....
==========================================
Any how back near topic:
Yea I think I might just get another DIncII maybe the White one.
Enjoy....

I love the DNA but I also love having the latest HTC available, how many of y'all will be considering doing whatever you have to in your situation to get your hands on this phone? I wish I could say I'll stay content with my DNA, I just remember saying that about the rezound and incredible lte.

I'm not dropping my DNA but I'm for sure getting the One.
I'd like to say I'm considering the HTC one, but not sure I'd consider it on Verizon. Id honestly like to see them come out with a smaller screen, like 4.3", with some decent hardware specs. Just not feeling the larger screens anymore.
I like the HTC One for sure, but I don't know if it's enough of a jump over the DNA to warrant the change. I'm still on unlimited data, so I'm going to need to buy my next phone outright, and I think it might be worth waiting for next year's HTC flagship since the DNA is still so awesome.
Pretty sure they will come out with DNA 2 in November. Just my hunch

I plan on getting it at some point, I just know it won't be at a subsidised price. I'd like to keep my DNA but the cheapest way for me to get the One will be rapid exchanging it at best buy until they junk it out cause I know they don't have too many DNA refurbs lying around (worked for bb until recently, I know my way around Geek squad plans). I would've waited for the one (just upgraded to DNA in April) if I didn't have that contingency in place. Still think the DNA is a great phone, I wouldn't mind or be surprised if another one showed up on the fall but with an even bigger screen (which is what kept me away from this one so long).

There's NO comparison between the DNA and the one. The one blows the DNA away in every aspect especially speed and efficiency. I run mine overclocked to 2.1GHz an still get 1/3 more battery life than my DNA at stock clock speeds. Screen is brighter, phone is thinner, cameras are better, DEVELOPMENT is better (because it's cross carrier), speakers are WAAAAAY louder and have depth..... get the one
It's actually crossed my mind to sell my DNA and pick this up.. I have to sell the DNA because I can't afford a retail purchase without the cash from the DNA .. I could always just add a line and upgrade.. but not sure that would be a viable option ... Still waiting on the retail cost.. Will it be the same as other carriers with the One you think?

I'd guess around 650-700 retail. I cant remember if the DNA was 650 or 699, but I was thinking the One was slightly cheaper when it launched.
I should add to my above comment in the second post, it's likely I'll get the ATT version of the One, because of the development with the GSM versions. I carry an ATT and Verizon device in my pocket, so it may end up being One and DNA as my daily drivers.
You guys interested in the One, you can sell really old smartphones like the Wildfire, Blackberry Curve, Incredible, etc for $100 a piece in ATT gift cards.

Just think, the first time I paid full retail for a phone and the first time I have ever damaged a device were about a week apart. Yeap, I busted my $700 device when it was a week old, I was sick.
I was really scared to tell my girlfriend as she bought it for me for Valentines Day. But when I finally told her she was like "Baby really? The phone, you're that upset about a phone? I thought you got a little girl pregnant or something, you really had me scared."
Don't get me wrong, the One is an amazing phone, but I would rush off the DNA. Its still a powerful device, and in my opinion the One isn't a huge enough leap for me to rush to get it. .02$

lol they are the same phone. the one only has a sightly faster cpu out of the box and diffrent speaker placement. .... both phones have independent amps a similar shape, similar components, similar software (they even have a rom if you like blinkfeed).... 200 mhz faster big whoop, is not like you cant oc it to 1.7... its silly to buy one if you got a dna..... its like throwing away or trading in a black 2012 Tahoe for a silver 2013 Tahoe (its the same exact truck).. if you had like a gs3 or a razr or something older it makes sense to wait a lil bit and buy it instead of the dna cuz it is the newest phone.

You can't assume that features like those you mentioned are the only thing important to everyone. It's kind of like assuming that everyone who buy's a device plans to talk on it. We are far from the average or typical consumers and there's way more than a few hundred mhz to our purchasing decisions.
I'm not saying you are right or wrong, I'm just saying that you should consider with an open mind that a lot of people could care less about the specs on the side of the box and put the emphasis on something dev related when making purchases. It's like saying everyone cares about battery life. Or nobody likes HTC Sense. There's a wide variety of people, ideas, and personalities in the development community that the standard consumer rules don't apply too.
You have to also remember that the reason we have Android devlopers on new devices is because they were stupid enough to buy a new device that was only a slight upgrade above the old one.
Off Topic: I spent three days with a GS4 and wasn't impressed with it at all.
