Dead screen and reading internal memory - Desire General

Hello everyone.
Today I dropped my Desire and smashed the screen. The phone is working, but LCD is dead. Is there any way I can read and make contacts and sms backup on my PC from my bricked screen Desire? Is there any Windows tool to read internal memory when I put the phone in bootloader?
Thank you all in adwance for your help.

I doubt it. If there was it would of been posted by now. You could something like qtafb but o doubt that's what your looking for.

Is it rooted?
You could create a Nandroid and then somehow extract the data from the nandroid files.(?) Depending on what recovery u use you should be able to do this without screen.

You could use a app called
Adb filemanager

It's not rooted, everything is stock. I have searched through this forum and didn't find any solution for my problem. It seems like the only way is to send my phone on service for a screen replacement.
Well, thank you guys for your help. It's not so bad afterall, now I have a one more reason to upgrade to a newer phone, DHD or maybe wait a while till Sensation comes out.

Titanium backup question

Hey I have a question. So I'm going from a captivated to a HTC Inspire. And I don't want to root. But I do have some photos and files that are saved on titanium backup in my vault free app. Is there a way to get those off of there and on my new phone without having to

Your last sentence is incomplete.

I don't really get it. You have an App called "Vault free" that saved files & pics for you?
Did you try just to reinstall the app and restore the data from SD?
Sorry the last part should be root. See the issue is I have the data saved in tb. I can get vault free from the market but not the original data from tb. So my question is is there any way to maybe pull the data out of the tb folder on the computer and maybe get it back in vault free?

Do you still have the Captivate? Can you download the files from TB to the Capti, then upload to your computer??
Also, you know you are going to want to root some day, why not just do it now??
Lol I am going to want to root. This is actually the first phone that does everything perfect. It is so fast. And I don't have the captivated anymore but I have all the files on my inspire SD card. All the.folders are there but just can't open and view the pictures

If you just want to backup your pictures.
You can plug usb cable then direct backup to your pc

Internal storage

Hey guys... I know this is the g2 forum but this is what I use for mine ande I know y'all know your stuff! My wifes mt3g says it only has 114kb internal storage... I've been into manage apps to see if I could put some on the sd card but most won't let me. Its not rooted or anything and she really doesn't have that much stuff on it. Any help would be appreciated!

Noob here but one thing u must do it root your phone so then you can some kind of apps2sd app to break the apps move restriction so u can move it to SD card or move part of it..

I agree bro.. I showed her titanium on mine but she wants no part of it. LOL

Too many apps! Maybe she doesn't use all of them?
Rooting and installing a custom ROM (even a stock variant) would use less space on /system too, thus more room for apps etc.
The easiest thing you can do is root it and s-off it and install the fully updated stock but rooted rom that's should be in the forum for her phone .. she won't know wats up since its stock or for a stockish feel but fast install the virtues duble shot that works on g2 and mytouch4gs and is a sence rom

[Q] Apps to external SD card.

I did a quick search, and could not find the answer to this...Is there a way to move my apps to my external SD card on stock ATT Jelly Bean? I have not rooted yet, as the phone is still new and I want to make sure there are no defects before I void my warranty. It would be great if there was a work around for this without rooting, but my next question is does CM10 stable allow apps to external SD? Any help is greatly appreciated.
There are several apps in the play store for that...

Samsung removed the functionality in thier stock rom. I have not tried app2sd yet, but in my search I got the impression that would not work. Thanks for the reply though, I will give it a shot.
Worked on my sgs2....

Like it was said above, Samsung removed the feature. The phone literally can't read apps from the sd card. It just doesn't work. None of the apps in the play store (all of which require root by the way) will work. There's a hack by a guy called Zedomax (or something like that) that might work. But you will need to root your phone. It basically makes the phone think that your ext sd is your internal sd and vice versa.
Also, don't be afraid to root and tamper with your phone. If worse comes to worse, there are ways to reset the flash counter so it's like it was never tampered with even if you hard brick tour phone, there are places that will do a JTAG which is pretty much a guarantee to un Bricking your device. Hope this helps.
