CM7 not recognizing my sd card - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have actively been using CM7 on my epic now since the release of 7.1. Since the release of 7.4, my sd card is not being recognized. I posted something in the bug forum about it and someone posted that there was a fix for this issue using root explorer. My issue is that I cannot download root explorer because it will not let me save to the device, it forces me to save to the sd card and it therefore says I cannot download it. I don't want to bug the dev's about a flash to correct the issue, and I really use my sd card a lot. Any suggestions?

No sd card?

When i try to download some files (not using market) it says that i need SD card. How to fix it?
Does anyone experience this problem too? I just cant download most of the files unless i can find them on the market. Why does it say i have no sd card whhy i have, i cant even run android without it.
1.-Backup SD card to your computer
2.-Download HP format tool (google) and format sdcard FAT32+FULL FORMAT
3.-Restore sd card contents
4.-Try again.
Also, which build are you using? XDAndroid or neopeek variants?
I am using xdandroid posted by aaarghh
From THIS thread? That has the most up-to-date and working package build, to my knowledge.
Give it a once over and leave some feedback. Format FAT32 is suggested.
I have formated and cleared sd card. Downloaded the package with new android and problem still occurs :/.
Even if i go to setting-location and security-install from sd card it says that sd card isnt present. It says there is no sd card under SD CARD/PHONE STORAGE(or something like that) too.
-Where should i put apk file to install it?
You are using an at&t Fuze/RAPH110/TP, right?
You can put the APK under the folder called AndroidApps
Additionally, make sure you are using something other than the windows format tool. (FAT32 ofc). Also, I've heard of these situations (not able to download from Market) with the earlier builds such as Eclair and Donut but very rarely with FroYo. Not saying that it is impossible, just that you are the first person I have attampted to help with this issue

[Q] Kushdeck ICS Incredible - SD Card Issues

So let me explain the issue:
Right now I'm running [ROM][ICS][4.0.3][12-17-11][WIP] ics-deck-inc [pre-alpha8]
I know others have mentioned this as an issue, and I'm new on the forums so I can't post in the developer section.
The Gallery and other applications cannot locate files on the SD card. Also, when I look in Settings>Storage, it doesn't show me any info on the card.
HOWEVER, if I use Astro File Manager, I can access the SD card just fine, and even navigate to pictures on the card and open them in the Gallery app.
I was wondering if there was any progress being made on this or if anyone has found a fix? I know on SWM's port of the OXM ROM the SD card works flawlessly.
Thanks.

[Q] Not able to install apps on SD card

i've been running task&ktoonsez rom for a while now, and i am having issue with the rom not being able to us the SD card as the default storage. For that matter, i cant even move apps over to the SD card. ive done a full format on the card from windows, thinking that the card had become corrupt.
Just to make sure it wasnt the rom i flashed back to stock, and its not working correctly there. im honestly not sure WTF im doing wrong/ what the issue is.
The card shows up, but with no option to format, and no systems see it as an SD card (ie apps wont install, downloads arent going to the sd card, the camera app wont let me save to the card) I can access the card though a file manager like astro,
anyways, I've been running custom roms for almost 2 years now (since the gsII came out) and ive never had a problem i couldnt figure out.
I searched for quite a while for this issue on the forums, but cant find anything, if there already is a posted fix for this, im sorry, but couldnt find it. if there are any other details i can provide please let me know.

Can't modify anything on my External SD Card

As the title says & I can't even save pictures to my SD card.
I'm running Android 5.0 via Cloudy G3 2.0. I didn't have this issue when I was stock I don't know if the problem is related to Cloudy G3 as I did adb push a file to my phone (moments before I installed the custom rom) and I have read that doing so messes up permissions regarding the SD Card.
I have done a Google search but nothing relevant is coming up regarding Android 5.0
I'd greatly appreciate it if help could be provided, thanks in advance!
I'm having the same issue, but even though I am running Cloudy 1.0 since I am on AT&T, I don't know if its a rom issue since I cant access my External SD card even through recovery. It shows up as if its empty, and it wont let me access it but I can access it through a computer without a problem. I have been having a lot of issues using my Windows 8.1 computer to transfer files and such. I dont know if its compatibility issue freezing up my sd card.
Anyone got any advice?

Try connecting your phone to a computer, transferring all the important stuff to your computer, and formatting the SD card. That's what I did and it's working again.
My phone no longer detects the SD card. I think the problem was with the card itself as I have no issues whatsoever with a different card

[Q] CM 12 Nightly (5.0.2 Lolipop) - SD card issues still present

Hi,
I've updated to CM 12 Nightly ROMs (currently 12-20150216-NIGHTLY-a5), with a clean install, to get away from the restrictions on SD cards in 4.4.4.
Although I do seem to have SOME access to my card at seemingly random times, I mostly do not. I've seen nightlys which stated they've fixed SD card issues and have updated to them, and for the past couple of weeks, I've been updating multiple times a week. But at present, I cannot even move what seems to be less that 2MB in most cases to the SD card, even with a root-enabled file manager (Yes I am rooted). Do I still have to edit user rights for my owner account?
I've gone into my app preferences and chose the SD card as my preferred install location as well, but it seems that this option will only install to the emulated/sdcard0 directory. I get the same result if I use the app manager and choose "Move to SD Card".
I constantly have to purge info from my internal memory just to even be able to update apps. I have about 54GB free on my SD card according to my phone. the 10 or so gigabytes used are from a manual backup that I had performed before flashing, using my PC only.
Could anyone please help me with this?
Please? Anyone?
Hmm,
Seems most of my issue was fixed just by using ES File Manager instead of CM File Manager. I still don't have much space at all to do anything special, nor can I install Apps onto my real SD Card...
