[Q] My Desire HD - Unknown error - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone. I've successfully rooted my desire hd and have loaded many custom rom's so i'm not a complete noob but i noticed the other day that the superuser app had gone and i can't get into clockwork recovery mode...however...my desire hd decided to reboot today and there it was...clockwork recovery. I wasn't holding down on the volume button as the phone re-booted, in fact, i didn't touch a thing. i was looking at the zedge app.
Reason im posting is i would like to re root my phone but i'm not sure how risky its going to be as clockwork recovery is in there somewhere but i'm unable to access it. Any help would be greatley appreciated....a few details about my phone:
Software version : 1.32.405.6
HBOOT:-0.85.007
Radio: 26.03.02.26_M
On tmobile network in UK..Phone has been network unlocked.

Have you tried downloading superuser from the market?
What happens if you try and boot into recovery (power prompt or vol- and power button)?
Sent using witchcraft via XDA Developers App.

it goes to the stock recovery menu. that's what i cant understand. ive re downloaded superuser but its unresponsive. when its installing, its telling me the file is infected. Same with visionary.

"Infected"!?! That's a new one on me. You say this message comes up after download but during the install? Can you install a 'normal' app from the market?
What ROM are you currently using?

You can "reroot" your phone by flashing a new rom

Help! I have trouble using clockwork recovery

Hello,
And yes, my phone is fine still running on stock rom, but I have trouble when using rom manager and booting into the recovery to load another rom, I seem to get the android monster with a attention side beside him, this happens when I sellect any option. I just rooted my phone so I am quite dissapointed. My HBoot version is 0.93 . Also when starting the phone while pressing the volume down button I get to the menu but how am I to get to the clockwork recovery menu? Any ideas how to fix the issue?
Thanks in advance!

Boot into HBOOT, select 'Recovery', you're now in Clockwork Mod
Easy
Thaank you, but when I select any option in the clockwork recovery menu I get that android monster picture and a attention sign. The only way to go back would be to press the power button. Any ideas?

Help.. revoked3 not detecting device

Guys I am trying to re root my device using the revoked method, however I am having a great deal of issues with it. I have the drivers installed when it the HBOOT it can see its using the android 1.0 driver... perfect. Reboot and then nothing it just wont detect my phone... I have USB debbuging on but nothing.
I have read so many threads... I just cant see what I am doing wrong... While I am rooted I am really just trying to reflash my phone... if anyone has any handy tips I am all ears.
Erm.... Reflash using unrevoked .... Fail.
Unrevoked is a rooting program and once your rooted you can't use it on a rooted rom. You need an unrooted rom.
What are you trying to do?

Just install the latest OTA- Update for your Phone. Root should be removed then.

Just pick the right one from here, that should work:

Get Recovery manager from the market and use it to install ClockworkMod.
You can then boot to recovery and use ClockworkMod to flash the rom of your choice
welll lot of answers...
did you only check if the command adb devices gives you a reply ???
it should be otherwise would let heard that there is some other issue by the way.

[Q] Trying 2 understand few thing things after/about rooting!

So i have rooted the htc DZ and tried out multiple roms... Till now i used to use the CWR to wipe the data/cache before loading a new rom.. Yesterday i decided to try SuperWipeG2+ without reading much(not trying to understand what it exactly does).
After i flashed it, i by mistake hit the reboot now in CWR and it hung at the boot screen. To fix this i removed the battery and put it back in,since power on was not working. When i did so it went to HBoot and started flashing the 1.34 PC10IMG file present in the sdcard which i did not remove after rooting.
Query:-
1) Should i have removed 1.34 PC10IMG?
2)If i ever face a similar situation like mentioned above will it enter the recovery,if the1.34 PC10IMG file was not present ?(i did try to do away with updating the 1.34 PC10IMG,but always entered the HBoot on every subsequent restart and never allowed me to change the options from flashboot to anything else).
2a)If it does not enter recovery, then what is it to be done?
3)Currently i have stock 1.34 rom which says i do not have root(check this by installing rom manger )! but when i check Boot page, it says S-off and other Hboot etc.
I did run from step 1. to root DZ and it was back to good old rooted condition.
(Did a lot searching and reading but i couldn't answer the above questions- hence the thread also just not comfortable experimenting too much, might end bricking the phone )
Non-rooting query:-
4)Also what is use of app2sd/partition of sd-card!
i mean, as per my understanding this(app2sd) can"only"be used when there is partition in you sd-card which allows apps to be moved to sd-card,but when using MIUI rom i still can move most of the user apps to sd-card..
If these questions has been already asked and replied or even already explained please forgive me for creating this thread and please provide the link.. Would appreciate a lot..
Thanks..
Anyone ... Sorry abt the long post...

I only know no.4
Since Froyo, you dont need this app. You can move it to your sd card under the Application setting. But, not all apps can be moved (such as task manager, pre installed app). You dont need to create partition, just install it and run it.
Anyway, since our DZ has internal memory 1,5 GB, I never moved apps to sd card
Cheers
Thanks ... 1 cleared.. 3 to go...

For the other q's
Yes you should remove the PC10IMG from your sdcard.otherwise you can't get into recovery through bootloader.
(although you could boot to fastboot, and if you have the eng bootloader boot a recovery through terminal/cmd)
Did you run the "./root_psn" step of the rooting guide? If not that might be the error with not perm-root

ROM Manager is just checking for su, I believe; try downloading SuperUser by ChainsDD from the market and flashing the su binary with it and then loading ROM Manager.

When you installed the application, did you also flash the binary? Launch the application, go into preferences and scroll to the bottom for the option to flash the binary

[Q] Phone Stuck booting into Clockwork Recovery v5.0.2.0

Tried to root and flash a new rom. I believe the root worked however phone keeps rebooting into clockworkMod Recovery. Prior to rooting it i tried to downgrade my operating system but that didn't work. unlocked the htc bootloader and i was even able to flash clockworkMod Reocvery v6.0.1.1 touch on the phone. Still everytime that i install the rom which is cm7.1.0.1 it always reboots into CMR v5.0.2.0. I may have flashed recovery reboot onto the phone which may or may not explain what happened. i don't know. I just know that my phone is messed up and I want to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. I can bring up HBOOT and CMR 6 in addition to v5 but thats all i can bring up. Please HELP

I've got the p600 wifi model. I'm trying to install recovery and it's making me curse. I've rooted tons of devices and never had this problem. Can anyone please assist? I installed per the goo manager method and it says it installed correctly, even rom manager shows I have it, but when I boot into recovery it's not showing up. Thank you for any help

Flash through odin, v2.6.3.3, untick auto reboot before flashing, reboot manually, & then get into recovery volume up + power.
You will get a permanent TWRP.
