Hi,
Since I flashed Android Revolution HD 3.5 on my DHD a few days ago, i've several problems with my local WLAN (static ip):
Sometimes I can't connect (it says scan and after that not connected)
Sometimes I see a message "Obtaining IP..." with no end (how should it, there is no dhcp server available) ; static ip is enabled
Sometimes it connects, but uses configuration from last dhcp usage
Sometimes it connects, but dns does not work (even if i set it manual through terminal to the google public dns "nslookup google.com" ends in 0.0.0.0). Directly ping 8.8.8.8 sometimes worked in that case
I searched the Revolution HD thread and forund some posts with problems like me, but without an answer.
I tried:
Reflashing ROM
Reflashing Radio (I use the on linked on Revolution HD page)
Restarting (of course)
Delete all wlans from list, restart, reconnect
anyone with a small hint would be great !

Anyway, I flashed Leedroid kernel which fixes it (seems like a bug in revolution hd kernel)

Dear Users.
On monday i have upgraded my phone to Android 2.2.
After update, my phone is unable to connect to secure WiFi routers (even my own, where i got update!).
I have linksys WRT300N.
Is there anyone who knows something about that problem in HTC software?
TechSupport told me that i should twice clear settings to factory settings (without SD card in phone). I did that few times, nothing.
Thanks
Please explain what happens when you try to connect. Is it impossible to optain IP, if so then it is a knowned problem since before Eclair :-(
I'm stuck on "obtaining IP adres", it doesnt show on unsecure routers.
I'm in the same swamp as Mystenes, can connect on various other routers, but can't obtain an ip from my linksys wrt300n. Setting a static ip solved the issue for me, not ideal but can connect at least
Hope it helps (if you need help setting static ip I can help)
I also have a 300n, I used the dhcp reservation to assign a designated up to the desires MAC address, wouldnt connect otherwise. Works fine.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
having the same issue after updating to 2.2...
i can connect to a linksys with dd-wrt but not to a belkin and various others...
Hello folks,
since yesterday i have a strange Wifi Problem:
I'm running a WPA2 Wifi which runs perfectly till yesterday.
I was using it with the
desire for more then 2 weeks now.
I see myself "online" with the small Wifi Icon with full power wifi, i can ping and connect to other pc's and macs on my network but if i want to get to the outside behind my router, everything is dead.
I can see the connection request for google in my router for the desire, also i can see that the access is granted, but i get no answer. The router was not changed.
First i thought of a DNS Problem and pinged www google com (removed the dots because i am a new user) from a terminal.
No answer. I pinged the ip of www google com (removed the dots because i am a new user), still no answer.
On my PCs this worked.
i can ping anything in my network, even the router so this should not the problem, but when it gets outside the router no response.
I have searched the xda up and down and did't find something which could met my criteria.
I'm using Pays Rom 1.3 if someone want to ask.
I'm on static ip addresses and yes the desire and the router are on the same network and netmask
What did i change yesterday?
I switched to a new Simcard from the same provider. Had to type the login data for google and everything worked, i thought. Till i tried Wifi today.
If i use Edge there is no connection problem, but if i am at home i want to use wifi.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance!
Greetings da_druck
Problem Solved!
I tried different things like removing the wlan on my phone and adding it back up.
Adding a different dns-server, restarting the phone, etc.
This all doesn't solved the problem, and i thought it could be no problem with the router, as all the other pc's could connect to the net.
BUT i thought i should try to reboot the router itself, just to test everything and what shoud i say: Its working again. So it was no android problem.
Maybe the router was a bit upset for running for more then 6 weeks without reboot, i don't know. So this can be closed
Greetings

I'm having problems with giving my phone a static IP on my wifi.
I have used different kernels and the CM7 and MIUI mods.
I put in the static address, yet connecting to the wifi shows "Obtaining IP Address" and sticks on one assigned by the router.
I have no problems assigning a static IP address on other devices on my network.
I've wiped dalvik and data/cache and did a clean install of CM7, but the problem exists, regardless of rom.
Any ideas what might be the problem?
Specs -
2.15 Radio
HBOOT .92
DINC
CM7
Kernel - 2.6.37.4cm
Bah, nevermind, just had to fill every single field before it would kick in.
wifi static not working
Android supports wifi static with proper ip and gateway..
means (1) ip . 192.168.12.33 and default gateway 192.168.12.1 will work fine but
(2) ip . 192.168.12.33 and default gateway 110.133.13.23 won't work....
All other Mobile os accepting this type of IP. Only android not supporting ..
Pls make an app.
Here for (2) , you get Remembered, secured with WEP
Disabeld, secured with WEP toggling..but no connection
Hello. I have xperia neo for 1 week. It is great phone and great upgrade from my X8 but i see a strange wifi problem. My firmware is latest version - 4.0.A.2.368.
At my home phone connects fine to my wireless network and everything is stable. I do not see any disconnects, reboots or other problems. My router is linksys wrt320N and i connect at wireless N speed - 72Mbps.
When i try to connect to the wireless N network at my office the phone connects fine but i do not have internet access. I have IP assigned by the router, network is shown as connected but i do not have connectivity. I tried with 3 different browsers and with the market and nothing connects. At the same time i can connect with my laptop to the same network and i have internet. My colleagues with other phones also connect and have internet.
I tried setting static IP address on the phone but this did not help. I read that if i set static IP in router's settings assigned to the mac address of the phone this will help. Unfortunately i can not test this because i do not have access to router's settings. Also at my home i did not make such settings and everything is working fine.
Previously i have seen this problem with my X8 and the same work wifi network but it was not always present. It was present with some custom firmwares and not with others.
If you have any ideas or have seen this problem please help.
Having the same device from Globul I never had such problems for the 2 weeks I'm using it. I had some disconnects but i put the blame on my router.
if you can try changing the wifi channels
I think I've found the issue (by facing by myself)
The version neo is shippe (2.3.2) has a serious bug on AES encription.
Actually only the upgrade to 2.3.3 (no clue about upcoming 2.3.4) can fix the WPA/AES issue.
So the actual solutions are:
or change your wifi securty to WEP, updathe the phone via OTA
or use the Windows Software and update to 2.3.3.
Please note that if you use the Control Power widget it has been removed in 2.3.3
This was my problem when I had just bought my Arc.My phone couldn't surf the internet with my personal wifi network although I tried to use many browsers and also Android market. Then I reset and reinstalled my router, everything works well ^^
Ask your office IT staff to do a simple power cycle on the router and try connecting again. That may solve the problem.
I was running totally stock on my Nexus until a few days ago. Decided to go back to CM again now that 10.1 stable is out. No problem at first but since yesterday my IP address is getting STUCK. At home i have the usual 192.168.1.xxx subnet address, but at work I have a 192.168.0.xxx range. All of sudden my phone is now stuck on my home IP address and it is not releasing properly and getting assigned it's proper address at work. The usual DHCP in both places. When I get to to my work network I see the usual messages, authenticating, obtaining IP address shows, then it says CONNECTED just like usual. Except it still has my home IP and thus, no network access when I'm at work. I had no issue prior to installing CM 10.1
Anything I should try? (beyond multiple reboots, and turning wifi on and off, which I've done of course). Any caches I should try clearing?
Update. Even though rebooting and turning wifi on/off didn't fix it, I connected to a different nearby network, then tried reconnecting to my work network. It then DID clear and update the IP to a proper one handed out by DHCP. It's strange. Perhaps it's a DHCP issue. Another guy on my network had the same thing happen with his phone. Anyway...I will keep poking around.
Have a Wifi issue to: can't connect to my Network(s)
To install le CM10.1 Stable, I do a complete factory reset, delete all Datas, ....etc. Installed 10.1 stable with gapps the latest.
Wifi worked fine until i do a reboot from Phone (I do this Reboot to do a backup)
Since this reboot, the wifi don't see anymore the neighbor network. I have 2 SSID: one in 2.4ghz and one in the 5ghz. Both with diferent SSID Names... I didn't touch anythings in my Wifi router settings!!
In 5ghz i see the network, but the connection is flapping between Authentication, retrieve IP, Authentication.....etc .
In 2.4ghz, network is out of range...
No problem with my Crespo, same CM10.1 Stable
Have anybody other the same issue ??
