I'm currently running RCMix 3.5 with the newest leedroid kernel. I have an inspire and applied the dhd -> inspire fix. I am still getting low volume though the kernel is supposed to have the 20% increase. I was previously on RCMix 5.9.3 and it was much louder. I downgraded to use custom kernels. Is there a way to check if the 20% increase was applied in the kernel? Is there other things that may be causing this?

Hi there,
First of all, I've read several threads about this subject trying stuff and hoping to find a permanent solution.
Second, my Desire info:
Android: 2.2
Rom: Rooted AMOLED HTC Desire Sense stock
Radio: 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 // latest official.
Kernal: HAVS 2.6.32 for Sense Roms V5f
Softwarenumber: 2.10.405.2
Third, app's I've installed.
Advanced Task Killer (using before problem already.)
Astro
Barcode Scanner
CPU Tuner
Geenstijl (news feed)
GPS Status
Meebo IM
Move2SD Enabler
NU (news)
Rom Manager
Quadrant Advanced
Pingchat
Whatsapp
Otherwise, stockapps and some stock apps removed.
Now the problem. This did not happen on unrooted phone, did not happen before flashing radio and kernal.. seemed ok with these aswel, problems came 2 weeks after flashing radio and kernal.
I happen to notice that when the battery drops below 50-40 % it'll get very slow, unstable, not responding and eventually rebooting itself.. This has happened for around 4..5.. times now. In 2 cases, I had to remove the battery, let it cool and try again. Yesterday the area around the sd card got very hot and let it cool down with the back cap off.
Could the radio, and possibly kernal have anything to do with it? The kernal has overclocking though. Or would these problems disappear when I reroot?
I hope this is enough info.
Hoping to get an answer or solution! thanks.
It's probably because of the kernel.
Flash another one, preferably without OCUV stuff, and see how it goes.
I think i've found a reason / solution in another thread. Most likely reason will be CPU Tuner profiles.. when battery get's low.. it stood on extreme powersave.. changed this, and will report with results..
Yeah it might be, if the app "tells" the phone to decrease the voltage or increase the cpu frequency too much.
I bet you're suffering from the same overheating problem as every other Desire owner will suffer from. (if you bought it during summer and before)

So I just flashed the new radio, wimax, pri, ect.... and after it freezing my phone I switched over to netarchys kernels and got my phone to boot with them on. Now I'm noticing my phone CPU is always at near 100 percent at all times and the speed is ways cranked all the way up unless I switch to powersave in set CPU wich then seems to almost halt my phone entirely. Anyine else having theses problems with netarchys kernels or the radio update ect.... or is this just me? Anti3 have any ideas how to did this without going back to the old radio update?
Sounds like you updated your pri but your still using a 3.30 based rom.
You will need to update to a 3.70 based rom

hi, i did try this radio with different roms: LeeDrOiD V3.0.7 , RCMixHD v3.6.1a D2EXT and Reflex S 2.1.3 and with the old froyo DJdroid 1.9 too.
in all these roms the radio caused reboots (i think for high temperature because the low side of dispay and, in the back side of phone, near the sim/microsd, the phone was very hot in the moment before reboot)
I know the high temperature problem about htc desire but my phone is not affected by this problem because i did try ALL the oldest radios from the last year during "froyo time" and this problem has NEVER happend!!!
now i'm trying 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23 and im using the same RCMixHD v3.6.1a D2EXT without any problems! (i turned on gps,BT, wifi, hotspot wifi) during play "coin pirates" game and the phone isn't hot! (it's very cold )
however restoring any froyo roms with 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 up to 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 i have no temperature problems!!
im the only one with this experience?!
No problems for me
I experienced same issue with LeeDroid and 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08 radio.. but now i'm using MIUI rom and heating issue is solved.
I am on gv 2.5. have had the same thing when charging + when I use the browser alot. 32.56.00.32U 5.17.05.23

Mine Desire also gets very hot during downloads/heavy browsing (2G or 3G) but it never rebooted yet. CurrentWidget reports sometimes over 600 mA of current usage but I don't know if this is normal usage or not
I'll try different radios and post results
Me too, at the same part of the phone. The temp is much higher than before. I use MIUI.
Slightly off topic, but what's the best way to flash a new radio?
Just reboot into recovery and then flash ...zip from SD?
Thanks
I had the same issue with radio 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08. I've tried two ROMs and result was the same - reboot. Since I've upgraded radio to 5.17_05.23 I hadn't any reboot.
I had problems with this radio before too. I used it with Leedroid froyo and had random reboots all the time. With Leedroid GB, Insertcoin 1.0.8 I got terrible battery life, but i cant seem to get good battery with GB anyways.

This is the best radio thus far for me. No reboots and excellent signal and battery life. I haven't tried the latest yet, but I have no need to either.
I had the same problem with all radios I've tried. Now I'm on the 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23 (+ ril) with much more battery life... but the same heat and reboot problem...

Can I ask which ril version do you use?
my phone often goes into what appears to be sleep mode and won't wake up. Pressing or holding the power button does nothing. It doesn't respond to calls. The only way to get it to reboot is to take the battery out.
The problem has occurred with multiple roms and kernels, and I recently reverted back to the stock 2.1 rom and verified it was happening with that also. see here for what i did to revert: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146976
Also, I'm a battery hog. Always run my phone to the max and carry around an extra battery with me. I typically swap batteries about once or twice a week and have had the phone since it was first released. Not sure if I might have caused hardware issues as a result of all the battery swapping. This issue seems to occur with all the batteries I have so it's not dependent on that).
Are you stock? Are you running custom kernel with OC and undervolting? When ive had this problem on stock, it was caused by minimal brightness or auto brightness on. Does it do it for both batteries?

I'm on stock (eclair, not froyo), and no custom kernel right now (actually I tried a couple of different kernels previously and they all had the same issue). Will try turning off auto brightness.
Also an app can be causing this as well,

doubtful it was an app given all the roms I tried that each have different sets of apps (miui, cyanogen, skyraider, stock). anyways, I really just needed an excuse to get an LTE phone. Just ordered a thunderbolt.

Just flashed this rom for a week now. It is fantastic rom, battery performance improved significantly. Battery still 99% after a night. It used to be down to 50% with CM7 or other roms.
One thing that I missed is ability to wake the phone up using trackball. Need advice from some one to get this function back with the kwbr rom. Thanks
