i flashed the stock rooted RUU and i get 100% awake time... anyone else? i haven't tried any other 3.70.651.1 roms..
I did. But I wiped and flashed again. No problems since.

hmm i wiped and reflashed about 5 times, still 100% awake.. weird
No problem here phone is sleeping like it should. Using SteelRom rev I at the moment.
Awake meaning the screen never turns off?
Spoken from my Evo using Ultra Keyboard and XDA App
Try downloading the ROM again. You may have a bad download. Also, did you use Titanium Backup to install everything?
Sent from my iPhone with the bigger Gee Bees.
try uninstalling apps that you recently downloaded. I had the same problem on a different rom, turns out it was something called sensorly map keeping my phone up.
its a fresh flash... no apps installed. i also tried steelrom, same behavior.... if i flash 3.30.x.x no,100% awake issues. any ideas?
MarkGBE, WHAT particular item is keeping your phone in awake mode. Use some tool, like spare parts, and see what exactly is keeping it awake.
Report this info back and folks will be able to help you more.

not sure. looking in spare parts... i dont see anything with a ton of usage,.,.,.
In spare parts, Battery History, Partial Wake usage, select Since Last unplugged.
If you're getting 100% wake time, whatever's holding it open will show there.
Leave it unplugged, turn the screen off and let it sit for awhile to gather up some statistics.
currently on the top of that list is 'Media' with 2m 47 sec. second is android system. 1min 56sec..
yeah this makes no sense... nothing appears to be keeping it awake...
Just wanted to confirm that I have this problem using both most recent SprintLovers and Fresh. Even restoring from nandroid backup seems to keep it open. Fresh install, no apps. Driving me nuts.
Attempting to flash burnt droid now. Will report results.
EDIT: nada.
Using latest radios, etc. from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485
Also using burnt droid's kernel with less aggressive undervolting.
ever since...
ever since I flashed the latest radios my phone has not went to sleep. software version 3.30 and it also seems like my battery life has taken a dive for the worst. Any ideas?

You're close. It's actually pri 1.90 that's keeping the phone awake. Just revert back to 1.77 and it should sleep again.
Edit: pri 1.90 was the cause of my 100% wake time. I reverted to 1.77 to fix it but now I am going to test the latest radios versus the radios we upgraded from and also a combination of flashing new and previous radios together.

I've also read that 1.90 PRI, coupled with 3.70 ROM causes no problems. It seems one must use 3.70-based ROM to run 1.90 PRI.
What ROM base are you using?
Edit: If you are in fact using 3.70, then I wonder if 3.70 and 1.90 need to come up at the same time? That is, if you flashed them out of sync, maybe you need to wipe and re-flash?
Well, most of the romdev's all say not to do the new radios and pri if you're not on the new 3.70.x rom and not to mix and match kernels with it either.
I personally built the rom I am using with the 3.70 base. I also updated all the radios. When I reverted the pri thats when my wake issue dropped. But its fine. I will still test and then just keep whatever works for my rom.

Thanks. Please do report back if you have new results.
ok so this is my situation, i have flashed nearly 3 roms in the span of 2 days, and my battery life is horrible on all 3, Myn, mik 4.5 and 4.4, i updated all my radios, and wiped everything using format_all zip. . . and nada cache and dalvik too. . . i check battery and Android system takes over 70 percent of battery! do u guys think it can be a rouge app? if so is there an app that monitor all apps my to check which ones use the most cpu?? thanks!
Downgrade your PRI and try Mik's ROMS.

thanks for the quick reply?
should i downgrade only PRI or NV too?
you should try process manager, it tells you which apps are running on real time and tells you how much cpu is being use, that should help you pinpoint if its an app. also ive noticed that every phone takes roms differently, because my wives phone had some isues that mine didnt in some roms and mine had some that hers didnt in some roms. i have noticed that that my battery life increased alot with setcpu and underclocking my evo to 245 when screen is off, also turn in settings moble network setting data always on, that will allow your data connection to stop when you are not using it for a while and come back on when you need it. also try turning mobile networks completely off and do a normal reboot, then turn them back on. ive noticed that with some roms when you first start your phone it immediately conects to 4g when it starts and when you turn it off, it still keeps trying to connect in the background, but when you turn mobile networks off and the reboot and then turn mobile networks on afer it reboots the problem is gone. hope this helps you with your battery life
sorry correcting a typo in the previous post, i meant turn mobile networks always on to off

No, you do not need or have to downgrade the NV. The current baseband and PRI causes wake locks, thus, a major reason for the quick battery drainage. Downgrading the PRI should eliminate the wake lock issue and improve your batter life.

Some people have said that they downgraded the PRI and didn't get the battery savings until they downgraded the NV. Just depends on your phone sometimes.
Here's a link to download different versions. Thank Calkulin for this, he is the man. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485
I've used MikFroyo, Myn WarmTwoPointTwo, MIUI, CM6 and CM7, and by far I would say I've had the best battery life with CM7 and MIUI (CM7 just barely better.)
Try a different kernel if you want, I just Tiamat 3.3.1 for AOSP ROMs and Netarchy-toastmod 4.3.4 (both CFS HAVS no-SBC). I've had good results, stock battery lasts a day with moderate to heavy usage.
How many people out there see their android system shoot up after making/receiving a phone call? For those who don't, can you explain what rom/kernel/hardware you're running please? Really frustrated here with not being able to make a call without losing 10% or more of my battery here.
Update: running SZ 2.0.0, tiamat 3.3.7, tiamat 3.3.5, and sz 0.2.1 all cause me to have android system skyrocket with a phone call.
Anyone?
Personally use Tiamat 3.3.7, on CM7, 100mv undervolted, and I don't get the skyrocketed android system.

Thanks for the reply! Can you tell me what radios/pri/prl you're running too? It's the only thing I haven't changed. Also did you change any settings regarding your phone calls? Basically, anything changed from stock when you flashed CM7 from a complete wipe.

Radio: 2.11.00.04.08, also no sky rocketing on 2.11.00.11.19
PRI & NV: 1.77
PRL: 60677
And for the phone, not much changed, except I don't let it vibrate on call or anything like that. Using stock dialer, no third party apps.
Thanks added I'm gonna try out the older PRI/NV as well as update my PRL to 60677, I'm on 60675 right now. I have no idea what PRI I'm on since there's no way to check in Salvage-Mod, and I gotta flash to some sense-based rom to mess with the PRL... I'll be back with the results in a few hours when I test things properly.
No need for the thanks, but always appreciated. You can go here for PRI, and you can flash the one you want, along with the radio. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485
Well. Updated to PRI/NV 1.77, on PRL 60677, and radio 2.15.00.11.19, and I still have the android system usage after a phone call. Running salvagemod 1.2.1 and tiamat 3.3.7 at the moment.
Android system wasn't even on the chart, then one phone call test (15 seconds long) and android system is at 9%. Ugh. A normal 10 or 15 minute phone call makes it rocket to over 50%, sometimes as high as 80+. Man I want this issue to be solved, can't wait for the official HTC gingerbread so that hella new roms will start dropping and the problems can start going away.
I have looked around and completed a few searches but cannot find any direct answers to this.
I have CPU Spy installed and have been checking it off and on since I got the phone. I have noticed that my phone does not run at any speed other than the absolute max. The phone does go into Deep Sleep without issue, but the only CPU speed it uses is 1728. I have tried a few ROMS without any change.
Currently running Juggernaut 5.0 with Darky's Kernal.
I have tried different Governers. I have tried Antutu's CPU Master, SetCPU and No-Frills. I just cannot get this phone to run anything other than MAX speed. Since I am constantly having things run in the background like music, this is effecting my battery life.
Anyone have any input, ideas or suggestions? Other than running stock.
Turn down your minimum CPU settings in set CPU and check set on boot?

You've done just about everything possible. Only option left it to Odin back to stock, root it and check cpu Spy to see if it is acting normal. If it is back to normal flash back to your favorite distro!
Perhaps something got messed up along the way of flashing all those roms? Shouldn't, but you never know.

I was really hoping it would not come to this :'(
*update....
I re-flashed Darky's Kernal and removed all OC apps and now I am showing full utilization of the different seed steps.
Quite glad it did not result in me having to start over again.
I have an issue with any custom ROM's I've tried, when the phone sleeps my cell radio turns off and I cant receive phone calls, sms's and the like.. The service comes back after a minute of having the screen on, but its a real hassle. I dont have this issue with either of the stock roms, both 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 but anything custom causes me issues.. I wipe data, cache and dalvik and take care not to install any apps and the issue still arises.. I noticed there are a few other people having similar issues, but unlike them I do not have to reboot to get my cell radio working and its not just data, I have also tried the gamut of radio's but I am hesitant to flash radios constantly since my understanding is flashing them has a greater risk to brick your phone should something happen. Does anyone know anything I could try? I dont understand how custom roms all do this but a stock one wont..
set minimum CPU frequency to 700 mhz.
also try other radios (UGLA4 works very well)... flashing a radio won't brick your phone as long as its for your phone.. which in this case, just dont flash I515 radios (verizon)
what rom? kernel?
yannisthegreek has a thread about this; not uncommon by the sounds of it.
Purely conjecture on my part, but I think it's a power issue, i.e. your phone isn't supplying the radio with enough power to kick start it from sleep. Basing this on the fact that a particular kernel (Fugo IIRC?) or upping your min freq to 700 seems to fix the issue. I've yet to experience this however.
I'm going to try setting it to 700mhz right now, I've flashed CM9, Modaco, Codename Android, Revolution, used the Kernel that was provided with those ROMS and Franco's and Trinity, I have also tried every radio as well with the same results.. it does make sense the way mudferret explained it and also explains why it will start up after my phones out of sleep mode and running faster, the weird thing is that this just happened one day, my phone was fine running a custom rom and Franco's kernel and then one day I notice that I had calls going right to voice mail..
So glad I found this thread. I've been dealing with the same issue. People tell me when they try to call they get a fast busy signal. If I wake my phone for about a minute everything works again. I am going to try Fugo IIRC? kernel and see what that does.
Looks like setting my kernel to 700mhz did the trick.. using Franco Kernel and Modaco custom rom, this was driving me nuts.. I'm a happy camper now, thanks for the help guys..

Glad to see it up and running. I never had this problem but I always had my minimum frequency set to 700 MHz because I think I heard franco say something about it helps battery blah blah blah... it was a while back but I don't remember the full details
Yeah, I read that he said the difference on battery use was negligible.. that could have been why custom ROMS and kernels were working for me previously.

I don't believe that setting min freq to 700mhz solves anything that relates to ril.
If you were talking about voltages, that would be another story...

What's the voltage differential between the 350 and 700 slots, if any?
Edit: I ask because I can't see my voltages on my current kernel
Have same problem post 4.0.4 update
I started seeing this too after a manual 4.0.4 update to my GSM Nexus. The phone is still stock (and was prior to the flash) with ClockWorkMod the only thing added. Still troubleshooting.

UPDATE: Noticed that this does not happen while phone is being charged. I've tried playing around with a CPU speed program, but I haven't yet figured out if the settings are taking properly.
