When trying to download a new Clockworkmod recovery 2.5.1.1 I'm getting an error occurred while flashing your recovery.
I'm able to flash 2.5.0.1.
Why is this happening. Is it because of my Kernel or ROM?

You must have denied permissions with setcpu to change the recovery. If not, just use fastboot and do it manually. Get klutsh's clockworkmod which lets you hack the ps3.

I just installed the new version of ROM Manager premium, but it's still saying the latest recover is 2.5.0.1. Where are you seeing the newer one?

I dont think that recovery is for our phones...looking at the mirror where the file comes from i dont see one for the evo of that version
http://koush.tandtgaming.com/recoveries/
2.5.0.1 is the latest (recovery) the app on the other hand is different
The guy above me is correct. 2.5.1.1 is the latest for certain phones, but not for the EVO. I don't know why it lists itself as a possibility though, I would think it could filter the results based on your type of phone.
During the summer I rooted my phone and i have Clockworkmod v2.5.0.7 installed.
I am trying to upgrade to the latest version and it never seems to stick.
Using Rom manager. It says that im flashed to v5.0.2.0 yet when i boot to recovery from rom manager it loads to v2.5.0.7. Does the same thing if i choose to flash a rom though ROM MANAGER. each time v2XXX loads
So i fire up recover and try loading the zip. Bingo it works. The screen turns from green to blue and V5.0.2.0 is now there for me to use. But if i reboot and later return to recovery its back to the old V2xxxx..
Any ideas why this is happening? Is it really necessary to move on to the V5xxxx versions? I was going to try out some new roms and they failed to load yesterday through v2.5.0.7 yet the rom i had been using loaded fine.
Thanks in advance..
When you use Rom Manager to flash a rom or reboot into recovery from Rom Manager, it boots the recovery from a downloaded recovery file. It's known as fake flash or in other words, it's temporary. If you want a permanent recovery, you would need to flash a recovery.img through fastboot.

if your Desire is s-off, then ROM Manager flashes recovery normally.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
rom manager now works only if u have s-off..no fake flash anymore is possible
revolutionary.io will upgrade cwm if you want
I think this thread answers one of my own questions but will ask it anyway to confirm; when I rooted my Desire (via Unrevoked) a few months back, the ROM Manager app that continues to be updated via the market offers the option to upgrade the version of CWM... is it OK to proceed with this?
I've been wary of upgrading from the version installed via the rooting process, just in case, but seeing this thread has made me think there isn't actually an issue with whatever version of recovery you have installed?

Out of curiosity - what roms you tried to load? As far as I know 2.5.0.7 was the last cwm supporting both amend and edify scripting and it never failed for me personally.
To upgrade recovery (or hboots) I always use Fastboot Commander and it's very easy to use and never let me down.

I agree. Unless you need to maintain an ext 4 partition (as 2.5.0.7 converts it to lower apparently when backing up) I see no reason to change from 2.5.0.7.
I use it even today. Best recovery IMHO.

Download your stockversion from sammobile. and flash it with Odin.
Download CWM and the root.zip flash it with odin,so your tab are rooted.
Make an nandroid backup with the recovery.
so is sure that you can go back when you have probs.

I have no external sdcard inserted in the tab. I hoped i would be able to flash the files i copied on the tab.
I kinda have the same problem, Im going to follow this thread...
I may be late for dinner but here is how I flash roms on my 5210. If the rom is the OEM Stock Rom, I flash it from ODIN. This HAS to be done this way. There is no other way to flash OEM Stock Rom.
If I am going to flash something like Grievous or Pimpdroid or BinDroid, I will load the rom on to my internal memory Download folder. Then from TWRP I select install and it goes straight to the download folder. However, before I install any of these roms I will wipe the cache and dalvik cache. Is this wise? I don't know, I just do it because most of what I have read has indicated it should be done.
So if you are still having issues, reload from fresh the OEM Stock Rom for you device. Then reload your favorite Recovery (CWM or TWRP). Set up your device for the minimal way you want to use it. Now, from either CWM or TWRP (or whatever backup app you have) backup your device and save it to your PC. This way you can always go back to standard/stock.
From here you would load the Root.zip AND the rom you want to load on the internal download folder (note - if the rom is already rooted there is no need to load root.zip). Now go into recovery and install the root. Restart then shutdown. Note - you may have to update the SuperSU or Superuser app. Go back into recovery and install the rom.
This is how I have done it and it has worked for me. I am sure I have loaded and reloaded several times different roms. However, I always come back to the Stock ROM via backup restore. I haven't found a rom worth using.
This is how I do it. Your device may not react in the same way mine does. So I advise you on the side of caution that you could damage your device if you follow what I do. Not saying what I do is wrong, but it is how I go about loading and unloading different roms. The key for me is I use the backup/restore from TWRP. I find it to be very fast.
Good luck!
ps... if you have already done this and it did not work, my apologies for coming to party too late.
Thank you for your help. I allready tried this procedure. It all works well, the problem starts with the custom roms i try to install, They install fine but when they boot up I get various forceclose messages. Unusable.
I suspect the isue is with the roms. I have not yet found a working rom for GT-P5220.
Has anyone found some working rom for this specific device?
Hey guys I need some help. Here is a quick rundown.
Just bought a new s3. I747m, came with 4.3 and Knox.
Used toolkit to install TWRP. Odin
After installing TWRP and I reboot to recovery, internal storage says 0mb and sdcard 0mb
When I go to reboot it gives me error about no os installed. But if I reboot anyways it boots into the os no problem.
When I press the middle button in TWRP to show log, it shows this.
E: unable to find partition size for '/boot'
E: primary block device '/dev/block/mmcblk0p15' for mount point '/data' is not present!
E: unable to mount '/data'

E: unable to mount '/system'
E: unable to mount '/data'
E: unable to mount '/cache'
E: unable to mount internal storage
E: unable to mount /data/media during GUI startup
E: unable to mount cache
Full SELinux support is present.
E: unable to mount '/cache'
Running boot script…
Finished running boot script…
E: unable to mount '/cache'
E: unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/. Twrps when trying to read settings file.
Any help would be awesome! If you need anymore info ask away, I'll be as detailed as I can.

You might try step 2 here.
Also - I read somewhere that you should uncheck autoreboot in Odin. Then after Odin is done, power off phone and then enter recovery using the 3 button method (volume up, home, and power button at the same time until you see the Samsung logo, and then release).
Good luck

Hmm, I've tried odin, an app called ROM installer, apparently replaces goo on play store.
I was doing some reading on the password issue, and users with these new gen s3 seems to have this issue and switch to cwm and don't look back. Only when flashing 2.6.3.1 or 3.0. So e people suggested format data, but until I have a working recovery I'd rather not try wiping anything, unless a dev tells me otherwise.
Apparently there might be some HW changes in these last gen i747m.
I'll go download flashify, I can't see it being any different then using ROM installer as it uses the same method to flash the recovery? I dunno I'm just guessing but I'm definitely going to try flashify with d2att TWRP 2.7.0.0 I know 2.7.0.1 has issues.

You should be downloading/flashing the d2can, not the d2att.
It doesn't matter when it comes to ROMs/kernel but for bootloaders and recovery, it does.

Flashing with flashify 2.7.1.0 d2can.

I still think somehow TWRP isn't installed on the proper partition. Its on 14 instead of 15.

For custom ROMs, d2can ROMs will work on d2att and vice versa. Unified ROMs are now under the label of d2lte.

Damn. I think my last post is correct then. I'll have to wait for TWRP update.

Please help me, regarding Android System Recovery
I actually thought I was booted into CWM Recovery, but I ended up booting into Android System Recovery. And I happen to wipe partition and factory reset already.
Now there is no rom to boot, and I am unable to flash custom rom due to the signature verification errors.
Is there anyway for me to recover from this?
Would appreciate your help.

Yes that's what I did, but I seem to be not able to get to CWM Recovery and it always goes to Android System Recovery.
Anyway I recovered my system by flashing a stock rom so that I can restart.
How can I install CWM Recovery properly and make the device boot to CWM?

This is normal behaviour. After you restore using Odin, recovery would always be Android System Recovery. You need to flash a CWM recovery via temporary CWM first, to get CWM recovery.
Lookup for temporary CWM here in forum. And you'll find the thread that I mean.

The new CM11 rom by Chrono has been installed and running already. However, I am not able to connect via Wifi to my router.
What could be the issue?
So far I have tried:

ChronoMonochrome: cm-11-20150730-UNOFFICIAL-codina-universal.zip
Both the wifi are not working. I was not able to connect to my D-Link 868L router.
