Apps Auto Installation (After Reset) - Windows Phone 7 General

How do you stop applications auto installing on your phone there are apps that I have tested that I no longer need or want but they reinstall every time?
Any way to stop it?

Is your phone unlocked with Chevron? It is possible that that unlock method tricks Zune to think you device is resetted everytime you sync to it and that's why any apps you bough/tried through the Zune software will be installed. That's just my theory.
If you're phone is not Chevron unlocked, then go here and complain to MS to fix it: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...o-dl-all/51fb531e-7f69-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5

[Q] Stuck and lost with Google Play Services - unable to update, please help

Symptoms
Google Play Services Error - receiving a message " An Application Requires and Update"
when trying to use "Update" , I get "Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again"
when trying to "Deactivate" i get "This app is a device administrator and must be deactivated before uninstalling"
this is now affecting other apps (Google Keep, Hangouts, etc)
I talked to Google already ,cleared download manager, did factor reset twice, no avail, same issue. their recommendation is to contact Asus
Yesterday I unlocked and rooted the tablet, same issue.
Any suggestions? I downloaded "com.google.android.gms.apk" but the system does not let me install it
Thank you in advance , I am stuck for over 3 weeks
You can try going into the Google Play Services app, then force stop, clear cache and clear data. This may do it.
What you may need to do, what I've had to do, is delete the Google account off your device, then add it back. (A reboot in between couldn't hurt.) Why this happens, I don't know.
I suggest to flash a factory image, may be, there is something destroyed in the firmware ...
Just wondering....

I am not sure that I have any clever answers right now, but to clarify the problem, is this with Google Play itself not letting you update or install anything (without producing this error message) or is it a specific app that you are trying to update which is the only one resulting in this error?

It is both
a) Google Play Services require an update (which refuses to install)
b) com.google.android.keep (Google Keep) requires an update (otherwise not letting to open -" This app won't run unless you update Google Play Services"). when trying to update it takes you to the same screen for Google Play Services update which fails.
If it helps, the store shows me 4.0.34 section under "What's new" which I think is not the latest Google Play Services apk
Thank you
tried both...

I tried both (multiple times), as installed by Google Support and forums
a) removal of all accounts
b) reset to factory image.
c) force stop, cache/data clear
same issues
any other thoughts guys? is custom ROM by only answer?
if it helps, this is an LTE tablet
How about this?

Don't know if it is possible but can you get the latest Google Play apk and install it manually?

I tried that too.. with noresults - may be not doing it right.
Used Wugs Nexus Root Toolkit (which I find to be excellent along with instructions) and tried to use ES file explorer to manually copy/load apk - no success.
thank you for trying to help

At this point I'd make backups and flash a new ROM (stock or custom LTE). Something's been corrupted that isn't easily fixable, and you'll save time in the end by starting over from scratch.
I would agree that it sounds very much like something is corrupt in the ROM that you currently have; I would have a browse through the appropriate forums and find a new flavour of ROM to flash onto your device.
I have also heard great things about Wug's toolkit but have yet to use it myself.... about all I *need* to change on my N7 right now is root so that I can install a few choice apps that would not run otherwise, but don't want to wipe everything just for the sake of it
removed google+ from my account, solved.

for all its worth, I solved it by reflushing factory image and removing google plus entry from my google account. no issues now. thanks to all who helped!
If that is what worked, I am glad you have a working solution I can't take any credit for suggesting what you had probably tried anyway.....

fix for google play services not updating
Simply had to run the update from
the play store on the web
and click on installed, choose device and click install... voila
this pushed the update to the phone and the update happens

[Q] Dark Knight Rises issue

Hello, mates!!
I have a little problem with Dark Knight game in my unrooted Galaxy Note 8 (4.2.2)
About months ago i had version 1.1.3 installed and worked just fine, but i had to delete it because i needed internal storage space.
This week i tried to install it again, but when i start new game and tryin to play intro video, the game freezes (black screen with only skip icon showing but inactive).
Had someone the same problem? Is there a fix?
I have tried almost every version but the same things happens.
So it's probably the android version or some settings fault since i used to play this game...

Run saferoot and root your device. You can get it on the Easy way to root.. thread.
Once you root, download Ti backup and have it uninstall orphan apps. Somewhere in the system there are files that are left over from your game.
Safe root will not flash increment your counter so performing stock update will function normally. The only issue is Samsung Book Hub will not run in rooted devices. You can hide the root using substrate and Rootcloak to allow apps that do detect rooting to function.
If you are not willing to saferoot... then backup your apps and settings with Kies, and do a factory reset of your system. Then restore your apps and settings before installing your game.
If the game still does not run properly after any of the options I gave, then it is possible you are side-loading part of the app. Some apps like Samsung's Link will not side load properly without permissions and data properly transferred.
Since your not rooted at this time, doing any manual work to fix the issue will not be an option..

Wow, thanks for your advice... I don't feel like rooting this baby for a while.. but i will try factory reset when i find time to.
I'm not sure i understood what side-loading is... but i'm 100% sure that somewhere in the system there are files that are left over. I wish i could find them or perhaps a Kitkat update sometime soon maybe help. Anyway, i'm going to try new games and then come back with this...

Is capturing Kingroot file possible?

When using Kingroot. Google ask for permission to do a security check twice. The first time when you first install Kingroot. That is normal for all Unknown sources installations .
But when we Start Rooting with Kingroot at 52% Google asks for permission to do a security check a second time. This is NOT normal! I would like to know if you could capture what ever is being installed and use it to make a off-line root. Even if it is only a temporary root. It would be nice to have.
Thanks in advance
Next question anyone ever get that Google installation block trying to install Kingroot? I did and the only way to get passed it was to Factory Reset.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Kingroot comes from China fraught with all of the very ugly possibilities that entails.
Go into Developer Options, allow for unknown sources installations (there will be a warning about doing that), then put the .apk you downloaded from the internet on either your sd card or phone memory. Use My Files to install the .apk.
Kingroot is flaky. It only offers temporary root, and sometimes it's very temporary. You may lose root while you're running the bootloader unlock scripts. Once you're unlocked and have SuperSU installed you won't need Kingroot again.
My semi-informed suggestion is to pull your SIM card and turn off wi-fi while you're unlocking the bootloader so Kingfish can't call home. Once you're all done, find a custom ROM you want to start playing with. One of the prep steps in installing any ROM from scratch is to wipe the data partition. I would then format the data partition to make sure all remnants of Kingroot are gone.

Problem rooting? Google installation block?

May be a Google installation block, someone having problems rooting Try this,
After a fresh restore, during the initial phone setup create a new Google account decline ALL Google offers for all updates and security checks. Let the Playstore finish installing , Restart the phone and open Playstore a few times just to be sure it is finish the core updates. Close all recent apps. Google Kingroot and download the app. (Do not use Chrome use the Samsung Internet browser) Reject the Google download warning and download anyway and test Kingroot. If you get this far with temp root. Turn the phone off and go to step 1. of the OP. Stabilized process used to unlock Bootloader
My thinking is you may have some Google background operations going on that are blocking Kingroot by default.

I've also read that a couple of factory resets might work.
I never downloaded neither of the apps that probably shouldn't be mentioned on XDA on the phone. I did so on the PC and sideloaded it.

I can't download apps from Google play

Does anyone know what can I do? what happens is that I install the Android 10 update and it doesn't let me install applications from Google play I already did the cache removal but I still can't download (European version)
Maybe force stop and clear all data? Not just cache.
I already did it anyway but it doesn't work

Stuck at 'waiting for download' or do you get an error code?
I had a problem with the VPN (used by my adblocker) after the update, it kept losing connection. Couldn't figure it out so backed up some app settings and did a factory reset. Everything works fine again now.
Stuck at 'waiting for download', I guess I will have to do the same because I already tried several things and I can only install and uninstall with mobile data, but that is not convenient since it spends a lot of data

So you can install apps via mobile data? Sounds like a wifi problem. Already did a reboot? That's always my first option. If that doesn't (or didn't) do it then try force stop play store, clear data ánd uninstall/remove updates.

I force the stop of Google play, delete the data and uninstall / remove the updates and they still do not work. Or what can I do to configure something of the wifi?

Connect to someone else's wifi to check if your wifi really is the problem. If so, unplug it for a few seconds. Maybe that helps.
Or visit APKMirror and update the play store.
