I got one question, is it possible to flash revolution HD 4.0 over cwm when you have 3.5 installed? I am new to the HTC world?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
you have to full wipe first. then you can flash it with CWM
btw, Revo HD is quite old and only 2.3.2. i'd try some other ginger sense roms like RCMixHD or the Desire S port from theintelligent. both are better in performance then Revo HD 4.0 in my opinion
Ok thanks, but is there any to do radio off stuff? Or can I just flash them without doing that? My DHD is already rooted!!!

if you're running another custom rom atm, there is nothing other to do. just wipe data and cache with CWM and then flash the rom
you can flash another radio if you get signal issues or a high battery drain due to the radio. if everything works fine there is no need to do that.
you must s-off first before flashing custom rom .. do eng s-off too (recommend) ..
the s off thing is just use for one time only .. simple step only ..
after s-off , flash the clorkworkmod (3.0.0.6 recommended for now) via rom manager. after that, you can flash the rom
here's the link

Yeah, listen to Flussen, you do not need to S-OFF again. Those things are permanent, you only have to do them once.

Hi guys, i only got my desire yesterday (bye bye cliq/dext at last) its a uk desire pvt-4 with 40000 errorsize. I had a small problem rooting where unrevoked 3.32 wouldn't properly install amonRA or CWM, in the end i had to use unrevoked 3.21 and i'm now running ReflexTSenseHD 1.8 Sense DHD 2.2 FRF91 A2SD+ OC'd to 1113Mhz. Have tried flashing a lot of the roms available and not all of them seem to work for me. CyanogenMOD7 and Oxygen v2.0 RC7 get to the setup screen and then go into an endless bootloop, whilst DeFroST 6.1a, RCMixHD v3.0 and Amethyst RC7 won't load past the htc splash screen. I have H BOOT S-ON still as i'm not entirely confident at attempting the AlphaRev 1.8 method just yet, could this be the cause?
Thanks in advance for any replies, kingears

No. When your using a new rom, you have to do a factory reset and wipe both caches. If that doesn't work then just reflash it or wipe the /system partition since it seems to work for me. With PVT4 you do need AmonRA recovery since CWM doesn't work properly. You can S-Off you Desire but it isn't needed at all unless you need it doing.
I always wipe data, cache and dalvik cache before flashing a new rom, so seems strange that some work and some don't. I didn't think having S-ON would make a difference.

I don't know. Use AmonRA recovery and redownload roms. Check the md5 to see if it's downloaded alright then flash it. There shouldn't be a problem unless the root went tits up
Will do, thanks for your help

Just make sure you are not using fake recovery from inside rom manager.
I don't get why a lot of people still use that useless app.
I don't use Rom manager, no need for it

me either, it's so easy to use clockworkmod recovery, why do you still need an app?
Hi,
I'm running LeeDrOiD v2.0.0 with DesireHD-1.72_Stock_kernel_tun_cifs and 12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2 radio.
I tried to flash LeeDrOiD v2.2.2 using CWM recovery 2.5.1.3 but this does not work.
Then I tried using CWM recovery 3.0.0.6 also without success.
Do I nead full wipe?

I had that error too. Did full wipe and all 3 times in a row but if I ever turn my phone off it freezes at the boot screen and I have to wipe and reflash.
After wasting much time I fixed the problem by flashing a different rom.

Try flashing core Droid or revolution.

I've upgraded mine to v2.2.2 using CMW. I am using the older recovery (i.e. 2.5.1.3)
No freeze or error message.
I'll try Android Revolution HD tonight.
See if that helps.
i had same problem with Leedroid 2.2.2 after i did a full wipe also, i fixed mine by restoring my last Nandroid backup , then flashing w/o a full wipe with CWM 2.5.1.3
a full wipe worked for me to.
Flashing Android Revolution HD 2.0.15 and the 2.0.16 patch did the job.
Successfully flashed LeeDrOiD HD 2.2.2 without full wipe.
Thanks for your help.
sippo, move to android revolution hahaha
I installed CM& RC4 last night on my brothers Desire. I then flashed the bravo_alphaspl-cm7.img from alpharev to give him more space for his apps.
Now just for the future i need to know, if i want to install a different type of ROM (stock, leedroid etc), will i need to flash another HBOOT to his phone? If so, does this be done before or after installing a new ROM?
Just wanting to future proof myself here in case he asks for sense back or something.
Yes, the CM7 HBOOT partition table is designed for the CyanogenMod usage. The stock ROMs and LeeDroid need another partition table and consequently another HBOOT.

and flash hboot before rom

Except Oxygen. If you go to Oxygen it should be fine.
if i flash this rom, will i still have rom manager recovery?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200261
hi, i read flashing the official 2.3.3 will not allow you to enter custom hboot, as the new hboot is not hacked yet.
i know this rom is just based on the official and is pre rooted but i just want to confirm, if i flash this will i still have my custom recovery manager which i got via unrevoked 1 click rooter and can i go back via my nandroids at any time
also would anyone know the amount of internal space i will get approximately with this rom.
thanks
I'm not sure, but even if it doesn't come with rom manager you can still download and install it

thanks for your reply, but i need to know if i will be able to go back
As far as I understand, the pre rooted rom doesn't change your hboot so you should be able to go back. Check through the rom thread to double check that though mate.

Yea, it doesn't include hboot

Boot into recovery. Clear dalvik cache. Wipe system/factory reset. Install the Rom from the link you posted. I've used this Rom before and it works well.

Also partition ur sdcard to 1gb if u want to use the a2sd.
It will give more internal memory so i would recommend it.
