We're comin from a pure power source.
do you mean a mixing app for your phone? That's not exactly going to make you a dj, probably just get you laughed at, lol
If you find one it'll be more of a toy if anything. If you can't afford a real turntable/mixer setup then you should at least look at PC solutions, not phone ones....

I think you took that post out of context. I don't think he was trying to be a ****.
I have tried a quite a few of them, none that work very good though. Droid DJ has the most potential, but it has problems running on the Evo (songs playing on one deck skip intermittently while a song is loading on the other deck). The developer has been trying to fix the problem, but he doesn't have an Evo to develop on, so it is going kind of slow. It doesn't do it as bad if you use a class 10 sd card, but it still does it.
Actually, regarding the comment above about getting laughed at, I disagree. My interest in it stems from a problem I had djing at a local club. One of the club clientele fell and hit the mixer rack that my dj equipment is on and knocked my laptop on the floor, breaking it up into about five pieces. Luckily, I had my turntables and cd decks to fall back on and was able to finish out the gig without anyone knowing the difference. I was also able to use my phone to mix some new stuff off of my sd card in to the mix with the cd's and lp's I had brought with me. Like most modern dj's, all of my newest music is on computer now days (turntables are just used with the computer with time code albums), so it would be handy to have a copy of my playlist on my phones sd card as a backup (which I do). And one of the few things I don't have a backup for in my dj rack is the mixer, if it died I would be stuck playing one song at a time. So, if I had a decent mixing app, and something like this happened again, I could mix right from my phone and it could save the day in a pinch.
Sounds like you need to play in better clubs lol. I've never spun somewhere where I had to bring my own equipment and they didn't have everything I could ask for set up in a way that someone won't knock it over....

True, but if you saw this clubs equipment you would probably bring your own too. LOL
Actually, my operation is kind of a niche thing. The reason we get jobs is because of my equipment. When we do our show we supply everything from the sound system to the diesel generator to run it. All we use at the venue is floor space, we even have our own stage, but in this club their wasn't enough room for it. Actually, most of our venues are either outside or in large warehouses, doing clubs is pretty rare for us.

All I read in the forums are complaints about the Evo. I personally don't have a single issue with the phone aside from the awesomeness overdrive. Obviously, people will post/complain more about their issues than those who are completely happy with their phone. But it does skew the image of the Evo for those who happen to stumble on to XDA in hopes of researching the phone for future use. So here's a poll.
bump. i really want to know.
btw. how the frak do i change my signature?
if you can tell, its so damn old!
love it! and no issues!
Best phone I have ever owned or even used for that matter. Few issues but I think most will be solved within a month of release. Pretty damn impressive if u ask me.
Now if HTC would just release the source code we would be in heaven!!!

Same here. If there were, I don't notice it and it doesn't bother me at all for me to completely disown this phone.
It's amazing in many ways and there's still plenty of room for improvements. The roms will certainly help this phone get there.

Having this phone is really starting to mess with my circadian rhythm.
I don't feel anything....but there's alot I THINK about it.
I love it. It's the phone I wish I had years ago when the first iPhone came out. I had a Hero before, and I still liked my wifes 3GS, now with the larger screen of the EVO, I don't have that screen-envy anymore. The iPhone just looks tiny and awkward now.
What are the problems people in the poll are talking about? I don't have any issues with mine.
The people that come to this site repent one half of pone half of one percent of evo owners. The people you see here are either either true hackers, heard about how awesome rooting is and want to do it without reading directions, or find us by way of common search term for a specific issue they are having.
The point is, we may hear slot of complaining here, but its because we're part of a vocal and participatory minority.
I have an ipad for work, I had the pre and before that an htc touch pro before a myriad of other phones dating back to the nokia 101. The evo and android are the closest I have ever seen to fulfilling the promise of mobile technology and convenience.
The future is here, and many of the people reading these forums are holding it right now.

My 2 Cents
I really like the EVO even though it has some issues like the Camera/Video quality for instance but most are mainly Network related so it would be a better experience had it been on T-Mobile...now the Dream/G1 A.K.A Valeria, (I named her that LOL) that's my baby, I love the **** out of that phone and still have it and probably would never get rid of it...many reasons why, it' the 1st Android phone, (so the Mother of all Androids) it's the White version (had it as soon as it was available) it was my first Smartphone and hacked phone from which I learned a little bit of Linux and it was given to me as a present on my Birthday by the love of my life...yea it's official, I'm never getting rid of that phone! Sorry, most of that had nothing to do with the EVO
I love it but my main gripes are the Android Market. Hopefully more devs make more apps or port some over. The app store isn't really organize and I would like to see some spotlighted apps or recommendations based on what apps you have installed.

Anyone know of an app or if there's a way to take actual panoramic pictures with the EVO 4G? My friend thinks he's tough **** with his iPhone 4 and when he asked if I can take pictures like that I was forced to reply "I'm not sure..." :/
lol....well, any iPhoner is going to try to hang their hat on the one or two silly thing that their phone can do and ours can't. While I agree it would be cool if someone developed and app that can do it, there is a list of things our phone can do that the iPhone 4 cannot, so I wouldn't stress it.
root it, start flashing new ROMs and overclocking, shoot incredible 720p video, and sit your phone up on the kickstand and watch them, or run them through the HDMI port to a HD TV. Then tell him to go shove his iPhone and tell him he needs to keep his personal preferences to hisself. As long as you are more happy with the EVO than an iPhone I don't think it's his business.

I realize my phone is better in every other way, but I just want to be able to take those kinds of shots.
Is it all software in the iPhone that allows him to do that? Or does that phone actually have a wide angle lens? Excuse me if that's a dumb question
i would like to know too...my boss just got the epic 4g and it does the same thing and a couple other tricks with the camera too...gotta be a way to port that over from epic to evo
Maybe can you try my app Andropan

If I can remember I'll check when my phone gets done juicing. But I have been looking for a decent panoramic shooter too - photostitch doesn't cut it. At all.
Ye I have been desperately looking for a good panoramic software for the EVO.
The PhotoStich app works....ok, but I want something like the Epic or Droid X as far as it helping me line the next shot up.
Andropan is pretty sweet but on my EVO at the moment, it seems to have a couple of issues with the lineup, in the end I get a picture that is not joined perfectly for many shots, this means I have items in the picture that are repeated again and again since they have not been over lapped.
As this software moves forwards though, I'm sure it could do the job nicely.
I wish andropan and photostitch would get together and have a kid or something
I'd gladly fork over 10 bucks for an app that can do what the Epic's Samsung software does, or even what the Droid X is capable of.
Love the new update Sprint just pushed out though, super smooth now

For the people that our lives have been taken over by the addiction of flashing roms, kernels, and fine tweaking our phones on a daily basis. Have you payed less attention to loved ones in your life? Gotten in trouble? "Put that damn phone down for one freakin second!!"

My fiance comes first, at least to me, but she will beg to differ. Her most famous quote is, "your always on that GOD DAMN PHONE!" I dont think I am. Only when I'm checking Facebook, the forum, engadget, flashing, backups, theming, looking for cool apps, playing angry birds, and what ever else I do on the phone. As for the evo, I just gave it to my gf cause it was collecting dust. That's one way to get your old lady off your ass, give her one. When she's playing some stupid game say, "you're always playing with that damned phone and you don't give me any attention anymore"
Payback is a *****
LOL!
One time she was giving me a hard time. She made some comment that maybe you would have more money if you didn't buy a new phone every month. I told her I didn't buy a phone every month and why does she care? She gets the month or two old phone as a hand me down so she has no room to complain. She hasn't said anything since.

I've been a flash-a-holic since my touch pro. windows mobile sucked many hours of my life away. i spent hours modding kitchens, creating provxmls, and creating my own roms.
now... i just wait for a fresh rom update, flash, and done. ahhhh... love android. definately don't tweak it as often as i used to in WM days.... no need to... everything is rock solid with my setup in my sig...
Ill just say my phone lays closer to me in the bed than she does.

If I don't like something on the phone, I can change it.

Hi all,
I was just wandering, is Sense a threat to your phone? For example, you're in a very important meeting that decides your future, then suddenly, somebody phones you. Then you're like "Oh Crap!" so you flip your phone over, therefore silencing the call. Then an hour later, the meeting finishes. You've either gotten promoted and now you got a high-paying role, or things go South, and you either get de-promoted or stick with your current role, or you just get fired. So you look at your phone, to ring back the nuisance that called you. To make a long story short, you scream. You slouch against a wall and cry in despair. You flipped your phone over with a bit of force. You screen is cracked/smashed/scratched. So now, depending on your current role, you can get a new phone, or have no phone, or just a cheap Nokia. But either way, you liked your HTC a lot.
So, what do you guys think. Have you been in a situation like this. For example, your phone thought you had pockets that were bigger on the inside, and rang quite loud; and you were in your holy place of worship, making matters even worse and quite embarrassing.
So, is HTC Sense a life saving feature, or a terrible feature?
PS: Somebody think of a more effective word then terrible.
Keep holding volume down button till it goes WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY down to vibrate. Done.
btw, how do u have android "3.3" on ur WFS?
Is sense a threat? No. In those scenarios it'd be peoples stupidity for not putting their phone on silent.

This post actually has no point!
HTC Sense gives you the Options to disable those features if you don't want them! Simple as that! You have a Smartphone in your hands not a cheap Nokia! lol
There is also a Hidden Feature inside the Sense Rom which if you actually find it then your HTC phone will kill you! Who's that for a threat?
Don't get me wrong I'm just saying the truth!
Its all the users fault. People at school get their phones taken up, only because they wernt smart enough to use the silent mode or turn the phone off. not htcs fault
Dude, how hard do you flip over your phone during meetings!?
sense not bad; just a bit bloated

I still don't believe the 3.3 and you cracking a phone's screen by turning it around. XD
Android and Sense destroyed my life
Android and Sense destroyed my life
The most disgusting thing in Sense and all launchers is that you can easily switch homescreens by swyping a finger.
I was a very rich man and used to have like 7 women at once. I have 16 children and never had to pay child support because of my women did not know each other.
I paid an agency giving me alibis and stuff, so it would have never been revealed what I was doing.
That changed very hard when I bought my brandnew HTC Device with Android and Sense. So how?
You know, the girls like it when you set their face as wallpaper, having a widget on the homescreen to call or message them instantly and all that stuff.
So I did it for every chick on each homescreen and every girl was happy and so in love.
Well, the other day I just dropped my phone and girlfriend 7 of 7 series 2011 just catched it up, swyping with her palm over the screen. So this was the end. She called girls 1 to 6 and told them the truth. But she did not stop. She also called the 14 girls from 2009 and 2010.
Now I am a poor man. And that just because of some dumg guys of HTC integrated a feature they call "user experience"
So I will never ever buy a smartphone again - and probably will never ever have money for one either ...
Will HTC put aircon support for sense. no? I want a phone with aircon.

i would load CM7 on your old incredible because it is the lightest and no bloatware. then there is a script in the dev forum that will turn off cell radio but keep wifi working so your phone battery will last forever on a single charge.
