I am rooted using Vaelpak rom, but this has happened on other roms too. But any time I record a video and I either play it back on my phone or any other device it just skips, freezes, pauses etc.
Is there a settings to fix this or any other rom that records smooth video? Without hiccups or skips?

I never had a problem with my playback of videos. What roms has this happened to you in? Some roms, especially newer one have problems with 720p video playback so that's why it may seem choppy or whatever!
Have you tried going into recovery, doing a complete wipe of everything and flashing sprint lovers rom......I know for a fact that everything works like a charm on that rom!

Try to kill the app or make a reboot and test it again.

I have the same issue with the stock video player. Using Dice Player now as it plays pretty much everything I throw at it. Hopefully an update should fix.

Exactly the same problem here, if you wait for all the video thumbnail pictures to refresh they play fine. Must be a bug in the stock video app. Like has been mentioned here in a previous post, dice player works great. Hopefully a software update will fix it soon

I've been using SleeperRom 2.0.4 as my daily driver for a while now and it's been perfect, but ever since Rdio updated its app i've been having playback issues. Most of the playback issues were fixed with subsequent updates of the Rdio app, but one that has not been fixed is that after playing 2 songs of an album, playback just stops. So every 2 songs I have to open the app back up and manually tell it to go to the next song.
I've thought for the last few days that this was just an issue with the app, but I went ahead and did a clean install of CleanGB, CM9, and SleeperRom to test it. and after the clean install i did not have the playback issue on CleanGB or CM9, the issue is only reoccurring on SleeperRom.
If someone uses Rdio, can you please test this with sleeperrom to see if you are having the same issue? I can give you steps on how to reproduce the issue.
I've taken the test a step further to see if it's the kernel.
Running on cleanGB with cleanGB kernel it works, and then I flashed ShadowKernel which is used on SleeperRom, and everything still works fine so it seems like the issue is isolated to SleeperRom.
Any other suggestions on how to test this further?

No suggestions? I know you guys have SOMETHING.

Uuummmm seems like he has tweaked the rom for a higher amount of free ram after those two songs it closes? Id say just don't use sleeperom since its isolated to just it?

The app doesn't exactly crash, it just stops playing after two songs. I have to manually skip to the next song.
I'm using CleanGB for now, which is also a great rom, I was just partial to Sleeper.
HELLO EVERYONE
I'm having issue regarding the music chopping/skipping while listening from the headphones.
please help!!
Are you on .126 Rom? Because on there it was caused by some beats profiles, I would try disabling beats for a while and see.

I was also had this issue when I was on the 1.26 rom playing local stored music via the inbuilt player, but it was more a a small pause. As I was in a location where the data to the phone kept changing, EG 3G, E, H, I was able to determine the pause occurred when the phone changed it's data transfer type. I am no longer in that enviroment so I can not test the newer roms.
I M on 1.28 sense version, if you meant this ..sorry I'm new to all these terms Rom n all.
Kind of same here
Hi,
Not sure if it is the same problem, but I also have issues with the music chopping and clicking.
I noticed it is happening everytime the data connection changes indeed (loss of 3G in the sub, siwtch to wifi, etc...)
I asked HTC support about it but still no answer.
Will try tomorrow with Beats off.
I am using a european version (tegra) and the latest factory rom (1.29.401.11).
Can't wait for the, to release a correction, it is really annoying.
I'm suffering with a similar issue. Latest software.
Same issue here
I'm having the same problem, on version 1.29.161.13
Has only recently started doing it, where audio will skip/click with Beats Profile on OR with the HTC Sound Enhancer on. Switching these off resolves the issue. This happens when using stock music player or watching video. Switching to airplane mode makes no difference.
The fact it has only recently started doing it leads me to think it must be fixable... any ideas?!
Are you listening to your music over Bluetooth headphones/earphones?
i take it a reboot doesn't fix it?
Music skips/chopping on HTC ONE X
i am also having a same problem it also do the same thing in video playing also while streaming youtube video or play any HD video :crying: plzz help i came from galaxy s2 and hating this.....
When you stream from YouTube press pause wait about 10 secs, then play, the cracks and pops should be reduced. To eliminate them allow the vid to completely load before playing. I think is a flash problem, bound to be fixed in the next update.

A reboot does seem to help the issue at least for a little while, but it soon comes back.

I've been listening over the stock headphones, tried it this evening with my Pioneers and same issue.
Sometimes when I go to sound enhancer in the video player settings the list comes up blank with no options, and I wonder if that's related to the issue. It seems like the software doesn't realise that the Beats profile is on, so it keeps trying to turn it on again, which causes the clicks and skipping.
I tried turning it on and off through the notification bar, and then through the music player (which has more options than the video player) and then returning to the video player which seemed to resolve it until I exited and went back in later...

The issue happens no matter the source, so it's not Flash.

this is 99% not hardware. i'm so tempted to say 100% but then if it is hardware i'd be wrong
this is software. have you tried using an alternative app to play the music? such as poweramp?

I think it's software, but not the app itself. It's the same with Spotify, so i'd be included to think it's a driver of some sort, or something Sense is doing.
Anyone tried a custom ROM? I'm using MaXimus but haven't re-tested the audio since flashing. That's still got Sense, though, so probably not the best example.
Definitely driver. This problem crept up on ne After I flashed viper x. So everything I go into underground parking, my music starts to get choppy

Mine has had the same issue for a while. I've tried doing what you outlined above but with no luck
Though I didn't use ARHD 6.1.1, do you think that will make any difference?
I couldn't find anything on Google or another thread on here... So I figured I'd start one of my own.
I've had my Droid Incredible 2 for about a month or two now and as soon as I got it, I flashed Cyanognen Mod 7. That is my all-time favorite ROM. Everything worked great, as usual, but recently, I've had some problems. For some reason, when I open the camcorder, it won't record for any longer than a minute, 2 at most. I tried wiping the camera data and cache. I also made sure my SD card had available memory, which it did, a little over 7GB... Finally, I tried flashing to CM Nightlies. I wiped all my data, all my cache, and remembered to make a backup of the previous ROM. After I went through basic setup, I used Titanium backup to restore all of my apps. But of course, when I tried to use the camcorder, it stopped recording after about 40 seconds...
I have lost so many good videos because of that. Sometimes they don't save and I have to delete them because they "cannot be played."
Is this definitely a software issue, or could it be a physical problem too? (an issue with the camera connecting with the motherboard or something...?)
Thanks in advance, I just wish I could take longer videos again...
I just recorded a 303 long video on cm9. It sounds like it could be a rom thing. If you did everything you said you did most of the time that fixes that stuff, at least for me. Does any other rom do the same thing?

I've had problems recording video zoomed in on various cm7 builds. It used to work fine then one day, no; when I stop the recording, it just hangs.
Vivow was designed with sense in mind. Thus, sense cameras are awesome: fast, reliable.
I love aosp, but go back to sense for the camera. Try ucam or another aftermarket app & see if you have any luck.
Also, be sure you're not restoring any system data with titanium. In fact, I would reflash & try everything before restoring anything.

Hi i have a GSM Nexus that is on stock rom unrooted, ive only unlocked the bootloader. I have been having issues where if i watch a video that i recorded through the gallery app it wont play and the gallery app will freeze up until i close it. It also does this with youtube videos and videos through Play Movie. I have also been having occasional force close issues with the camera app where it will say the camera has stopped responding. I will restart my phone and these problems will go away for a while but always seem to return after a while. Is there any known issues with these problems and what can i do that might resolve them. Thanks.
Im having problem only with yourube and other videeos from i-net...they are just bufering forever ...and now with the JB upd my ggoogle mic is not working
