Your welcome!

Ive used it and internet didnt work on my Desire I rather wait for the official release

Thank you. 3G signal seems stronger

i was flashed this radio and no more battery drains, good signal and wi-fi works greet

First impression: no hiccups, everything running smooth here!

I don't know why but I can't flash this radio...i tried through android flasher and with recovery using .zip file! When I go to software information it says "baseband version": 32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17 which is my old one. Is there any solution?

Noob question: are certain Desire ROMs more compatible with certain Desire radios? How compatible is this new radio to a Bravo?

As soon as a radio comes from HTC Desire rom, you can flash it for your Desire independtly from the rom you are running
RIL is recomended and available here
1. Reboot into recovery mode
2. Full nandroid back up
3. Select flash from SD card - select radio
4. Should get a notification to reboot to apply the radio flash
5. Once rebooted it will automatically take you back into recovery mode
6. Mount "/system"
7. Select flash from SD card - select RIL
8. Reboot once that has flashed and cross your fingers !!!
9. You could check HTC RIL version and compare with informations below with my little app (see attachment) or with ConnectBot:
Code:
su
getprop "gsm.version.ril-impl"
*** Please report any problem! ***
Note:
-Some radio update don't need to change the RIL!
-If you encounter some trouble, you could revert to your original RIL easily: just flash again your ROM or do a nandroid restore!
-RIL FILES ARE STORED IN ROM PART SO IF YOU WIPE & INSTALL ANOTHER ROM, PLEASE NOTE THAT NOTHING STAYS ON YOUR PHONE!
Hope it helps you

Thanks Yorzua. One more thing: is it really safe to flash radio zips and RIL zips from recovery? (Mine is Amon_Ra 2.0.1)
I've been reading about flashing radios, and it seems everyone's recommending that I do it via ADB (which I'm not familiar with) or some utility like Fastboot Commander or Android Flasher. What's your take on these?
EDIT: Flashed the new radio via Amon_RA_2.0.1. So far, no problems. Calls came through, GPS and internet not at all affected. Thanks to all who helped!

Flashed it today! Works great! No problems at all!

Borat, i recomend you to flash radios and ril zip from recovery
no worries if it is with amon ra or clockworkmod

Flashed on CM7 PVT4 via fastboot - seems to work a treat thus far. Didn't change the RIL.

This radio rom seems to work just fine

u can do it from recovery its safe

unable to start wifi after radio update

whats has the radio update 32.37.00.32U_4.06.00.16_2 done to cause me to lose wifi "unable to start"
had a fully functiong phone rooted with app2sd installed until i just updated radio
tried dropping back to my earlier version still no joy
anyone got a fix
please
You could try flashing to a newer kernel version (e.g. MCR uvoc_V11) and see if that helps, link here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682419
If that fails, try a different ROM.
Did you not do a Nandroid backup before flashing?
I would have suggested that you flash back to your previous Radio version but I can see you have already tried that.
still getting to grips with all this
sadly didnt do a Nandroid backup
what is in the process of flashing the said kernel version what will it do give ?
will i lose all my phone data apps etc

Nope, you will not lose any data or apps.
The kernel update will give you CIFS, EXT4, tun, 8MB RAM hack (extra 8MB RAM)
CIFS (Common Internet File System) is a protocol used to enhance the wireless connection features on a smartphone.
Ext4 is a newer/better filesystem (you can use it with apps2sd)
tun (tun.ko) is a virtual network kernel driver used for routing OpenVpn purposes.
Yes, I have installed this kernel and everything is working as it should, no problems
Just flash the relevant file (e.g. if you are using an MCR ROM, flash the MCR uvoc v11 zip file for start) via recovery but do a Nandroid backup before. I recommend uvoc v11 as I am currently using it and I have found it to be very stable.
I always make sure i do a Nandroid backup beforehand because you never know what can go wrong.
If you still have the same problem, then flash back to stock ROM with this guide: http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desire-desire-modaco-com/307683/howto-unroot-your-htc-desire/
one last thing mcr rom how would i know that i flashed using pauls rooting method over at modaco 1.15.405.4 based ROM that one i beleive
edit backing up
and do i just push files through recovery

If you had flashed one of Paul's ROMs then it will be an MCR (Modaco Custom Rom) ROM.
Place the updated kernel zip file in the root of your sd card, with the phone still connected via USB, switch off phone and then boot into recovery (hold down bottom volume key and press power button), then navigate to recovery.
The red triangle with the exclamation mark should appear, from your PC, run the relevent batch push file (e.g. recovery-windows.bat). Now, while in recovery mode menu, to perform a nandroid backup, select backup/restore from the menu and then select Nandroid.
Go back and flash the kernel zip file.
Reboot.
MCR uvoc_V11 or V!2 no download for the V11 version

In that case, you can try MCR_uvoc_V12-signed.zip instead, which also appears to be stable.

No problem buddy, glad to help you out
If your current Radio version works well in terms of adequate battery life, GPS signal strength, reception, Wi-Fi, etc then I would just leave it. If you do not find it to be sutiable, then re-flash and downgrade to another compatible version, and see if it works any better as Radio's work specifcally depending on your region.
As you can see from my sig, i'm still using version 4.06.00.02.
Just because you have the newest Radio version installed does not mean it will work better for you

Newest fresh radios/kernals and setting up Amon Ra Flash

Hello all,
I followed the guide to root my phone that was titled "Idiot proof root quide" that can be found on the androidforums. I then installed fresh 0.3 and I've been running that for a while and had no desire to flash the new fresh roms. Well, now that fresh has released a ROM with froyo at its base I've decided to make the jump.
Yesterday I downloaded and installed the latest rom from fresh (3.1.0.1) but I was unaware that there were new radio updates and kernals to install. This is where I'm running into trouble. For some reason when I have 3.1.0.1 installed my phone wont stay connected to the computer. Once I plug the USB cord in it will ask me if I wan't to charge, disk drive, etc but then 2 seconds later it will disconnect. I've gone back to fresh 0.3 and it works fine.
SO, my questions are:
1. How do I install the latest radio for fresh (please help me with links, I've looked but have become easily frustrated)
2. How do I install the latest kernal with Amon Ra flash (it is my understanding that you need this to install the newest radio/kernal). I understand I need fastbook and the android SDK but I don't think I'm setting these two applications up correctly when I download them.
If you can direct me to any threads that will assist me I will greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
another way you can try is putting the radios on before you flash the rom to fresh3. I would flash using AMon Ra just because there have been reports of clockwork not fully clearing cache/dalvik. The best way to do this in my opinion is if you have rom manager installed at the bottom you will find flash alternate recovery, use that then try clearing wiping everything and reflashing. If you put the radios on your sd card first jsut boot into froyo once then power down flash radio boot, power down flash wimax. boot.
then try and see if you usb is still having problems. If it is let us know.
Download the radios and kernels you want with your phone, then reboot into recovery. All of them flash like ROMs, just select the zip you want and flash it. Just don't wipe first.
I think the order would be kernel first, then radio, then WiMax if necessary. Always reboot at least between radio and WiMax, maybe after kernel as well.

No need a custom Kernel for now, the ROM has its own, if you want a Kernel anyways you can flash Netarchy's Revision 3.7.6c - Froyoized but it has a side effects with the camera pixels!

3 out of 5? lol
Wow, thank you for the quick responses guys/gals! So it seems that I was making this more difficult than it needs to be.
Summary of what I need to do:
1. Flash new kernel if I choose to but each ROM comes with a custom kernel.
2. Flash new radio update.
3. Flash Wimax update.
4. Flash fresh 3.1.0.1
Now, I hope this also solves my USB issue that I'm having which only occurs when I have 3.1.0.1 flashed. I'm going to take omegasun18's advice and see if that will correct my issue.

well i would do it ......
Fresh rom + radio, the reboot, wimax, then reboot again, then kernel, that's waht i did and have everything working no 30fps cap, wi fi tether and all the stuff (remember about the camera issue)
*edit* remember something, you have to left the custom kernel to the end, because as i told you before the rom has its own kernel and will overwrite any other you installed previously
So leave the kernel to the end? Does that kernel you recommended remove the 30fps cap?
yep make sure if you do a kernal you do it AFTER the rom. the radios shouldnt matteer since msot roms dont acctually change the radios when flashed. but i normaly start with the rom and work my way up but otherwise you have it.

What rom? did you wipe?

what is the best

which is the best custom rom 7.0.0 / 7.0.2 or 7.0.3? which is the best radio cause i understerstood that i need to flash the radio to make the gps work, please help
and a tutorial for flashing the radio?
If you are going to stick with a Stable version, go for 7.0.3. As for radio, there are 3 versions, one ending in 20.10, one ending in 19.25 and one with 15.31. It is recommended to flash the one with 19.25. It can be downloaded here:
http://rom.tat.tw/wildfire/wildpuzzlerom/radio/Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25.zip
Flashing a Radio is same as flashing a ROM Zip file. Go to Recovery > Install Zip from SDCard and choose the above Zip. However, there are a few basic differences :
- Radio's can only be flashed in Clockworkmod 2.x. If you have followed the many tutorials around, you will probably have Clockworkmod 3.x, and wont be able to flash the Radio.
- To overcome this, when you install CM, you will have an app called ROM Manager. Open it, Click Install Clockworkmod Recovery inside the app. It will install v2.5
- Once install is complete, select Reboot into Recovery from within the ROM Manager app.You will then boot into Clockworkmod 2.5 and will be able to flash radios successfully.
Pointers for flashing a radio
- Make sure you have sufficient battery charge
- Do NOT interrupt the process at all. It's sensitive

No, if GPS works fine, leave it. Flashing radios should be avoided really, unless absolutely necessary.

Anyway realize that u have the latest radio and u r thinking of flashing a previous radio.
Flashing radio is not recommended unless u have issues with it. It has the potential of bricking the phone when interrupted. Radio has the secure flag.
The wildfires which has been rooted after alpharevX must be having radio ending with 20.10 because they are made s-off from stock froyo AFAIK. In such case when no issues, donot reflash the radio.

Rooted HTC Wildfire GPS problem

Hi everyone. Ok so ive rooted my htc wildfire to S-OFF using alpharev x. Ive also installed a custom rom. But ive noticed that since ive rooted the phone, my gps doesnt want to work anymore... Does anyone know how to fix this??? Help please.
Thanks!

Backup your ROM, then flash a ROM where GPS did work, activate GPS and start any GPS app (like Google maps).
Let it get a fix on your position and wait for a few minutes. Then restore your ROM...did the trick for me.
Of course don't forget wipe and factory reset in-between.

Thanks, but I only have CyanogenMod 7 ROM... It's the only one I have so I don't know witch other ROM to download where the GPS works. Do you maybe know which ROM I can flash where the GPS works??
I've had my stock rom backupped before flashing cm7.1...but a stock sense rom should work. I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure it is quite easy to find.
Btw I did some research and obviously for some people this method only fixes the problem in Google maps, not in navigation - I haven't checked that yet.
I hope it works because the other method would be reflashing radio which I want to avoid if possible.
Btw I got this from here:

Please tell me if it works for you.

@undbandnc Hi, going to try this now. Thanks!

Updating the Radio to the latest version Worked for me!
My girlfriend has the same problem. I rooted her wildfire and installed CM7, now GPS is not working for her. She try it with the app gpsfix, but it still dont find her location. Is there any easy fix for this? She's in the states now, and need it for navigation. I could flash the phone, but I'am in europe.
flash radio thats easy go in CWM and flash radio.zip
here are radios http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Wildfire:_Support_Downloads
Can you tell me what she has to do exactly? I haven't a wildfire with me so I cant check it by myself. Thank you.
Perform a Install Zip from SDCard in Clockworkmod (Same as installing a ROM.zip, which you must have used when installing Cyanogenmod 7),
The only pre requisites are that it must be Clockworkmod 2.x. So, flash this attachment first:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=662193&d=1311319218
Tl;Dr:
- Flash the Update1.zip attachment I linked above
- Flash the Radio.zip from the post where Deni has linked, (Use the 19.25 Radio)
- Done. Make sure there is sufficient battery charge before doing this, and dont interrupt the process because radio flashing is sensitive.
Thank you. Will try to tell her this, but I'am not sure if she can do this steps by herself.
So I told her how to flash. First update1.zip, than the radio. update1.zip installation is successful, then a reboot, then the radio zip installation, but its always end with a "installation aborted". The size of the files she downloaded is ok. What can we do now?
Dont reboot after flashing update1.zip. The point is completely lost if you do that. Directly flash the Radio after flashing the update1.zip
Put this (Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25) file in the root of your sdcard.
If u already have ROM Manager downloaded and flashed CWM 2.5.0.7, then skip those 2 steps.
1 - Download ROM Manager from the market.
2 - Choose 'Flash ClockworkMod Recovery', and follow the instructions.
Continue with these..
3 - When u are done with that, press 'Reboot into Recovery'
4 - Press the OK button, and then your device will reboot in the Recovery.
5 - Choose 'Install zip from sdcard'.
6 - Choose the Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25.zip.
7 - If you're done with this, choose 'reboot system now'.
Here you are

[Q] Need help with CM7

So im planning to go back to 2.1 or 2.2 and sense, so how im going to do this? ( I have #203 Nightly)
After that, will i need to root again, and is it possible to overclock stock wildfire ROM and how? (Install new kernel??)
If youre asking why go back to sense, I just happen to need stableness for next 4 weeks and want to see how much I can tweak Sense. Going back to cm7 in november probably

Just install like a new ROM. One such stock rooted Froyo can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877977
The only different thing is that this will have to be flashed in Clockworkmod 2.x. (I guess you must know how to flash Radio's in CM7, so its not a big issue)
And yes, to OC, you will have to install a custom kernel like this one:

Does anyone happen to have a backup of a wildfire without password or could someone advice something else? I tried RUU but my win7 x64 is causing trouble, or the drivers.
Just flash the stock froyo ROM I listed in the first post I made in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877977). If you don't know how to get Clockworkmod 2.5.0.x, then:

- Flash the zip (update1.zip) using your existing Clockworkmod 5.0.2.0
- Device will reboot and will start Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7
- Perform Data Wipe and Choose Install Zip from SDCard, select the ROM Zip file, and let it install.

Just what is says. It does not include the Bootloader (HBoot), and it does not include the baseband (Radio). So, for these two components, what you are having on your device at this moment will remain. (ie - They will not be updated when you flash the ROM)
