I can download and install apps from the market just fine, but the problem lies within the web page version (market.android.com) where i am unable to push apps to my phone, and also where it shows what phone i have linked to my Google account it used to say Orange HTC Desire it now just says 'Phone'...
I have used Desire HD ports in the past, and used the website to install apps onto my phone when using these ROMs...what can i do?

Hi! all. if my country does not have the android market to view those paid apps. is there a way to browse the all the apps available for android from the web? if possible provide download so that i can install on the SD Card.
As far as I'm aware you can't browse the market on a PC.
You could root your phone then install mearket enabler. This will allow you to see all apps,
www .appbrain. com
You can't download them though.

Ive just noticed that any app that i transfer to SD using the stock un-modified un rooted Desire no longer appear in my markets downloads list? So i dont see if theres any updates, itens like barcode scanner, pingchat, rockplayer, papertoss & movies (flixster) are all installed via the market, but since i transfered them to my SD card they dont appear on my downloads list in the market?
Is this standard for everyone? If i search for the app in the market it appears and also has installed in the status but is not on my downloads, so when theres an update its not there.
On that note also i have ticked the auto update box for every app but none have ever updated, theres been a few apps with updates in the downloads section of my market that are ticked to auto update but they just stay there with the orange update status?
Any help?
Thanks.

I had the same problem. I managed to fix it; here is what I did.
I cleared the cache and data for market app and restarted it.
Searched in market for each app that I had installed and tick the auto-update box again. Gave the phone a reboot and when I checked after a while the apps were back in downloads.
I am unable to install apps from the market. I can access the market and select the apps but all I get is starting downloads which doesn't change even if I leave for hours. I have WI-FI enabled and can access the web with no problems. Here is what I have tried already.
Clear Data in Downloader,
Clear Data and Cache in market
Factory reset
Flashed to CyanogenMod 7
and I still cannot download any apps.
If you have s-off you could try deleting the market.apk file and then reinstalling from a non market source? If you search xda I'm sure I remember several threads about this.
I had this problem a few times. Have you recently changed your Gmail (If you use Gmail) address from @googlemail to @gmail? This is what caused the problem for me and many others...

I never did work out what was causing the problem. I installed CyanogenMod 7 and all is work again.
Yea, sometimes just a reflash fixes the problem. I also found that, sometimes, the download would just finish but never actually install - almost as if the .apk downloaded but the Market Process just never actioned the new .apk to open, so it just sat in /cache until the next reboot, doing nothing.
log in to google talk...i think that should solve the issue.
Hi
Okay I know this is another 'I have a market problem' thread. But I really have no where else to turn any more.
Details:
Phone: HTC Wildfire S
Carrier: Orange UK
Software Version: Android 2.3.5 / Sense 2.1 / Build No. 2.13.401.2 CL19017
ROM - Stock
Rooted? - No
SD Card - Samsung 2GB
Issue:
This is my girlfriend's first Android phone and she has been happily downloading applications from the market for the past few days (note: the phone was purchased new about 3 weeks ago). She has had no problem up until 2 days ago in which she told me the apps wouldn't download.
I looked into it and found that once pressing the 'accept permissions' button the download status icon would appear and disappear in seconds. She was at this time using Market version 2.3.6 (as she was also still running Android 2.2 if my memory serves me well).
I updated the android software to 2.3 - but it did not update Market. I tried the old trick of 'deleting cache' - but that had no effect. Today I installed the update for market via AndroidSDK. It was then after installing Market 3.4.4 (I have a HTC Sensation and this is the market version I use) that I was receiving the 492 Error.
I have tried numerous things as well including:
- Clearing Cache for Market, and Download Manager
- Clearing Data for Market, and Download Manager
- Removing the ".####" folders from the SD Card
- Unmounting the SD Card while downloading
- Formatting the SD Card
- Restarting the phone 'cold'
However none of these have worked yet. The phone is not rooted (yet) so I cannot do a Dalvik Cache clear.
I don't want to try the 'Factory Reset' just yet as I feel that's a bit of an 'extreme' measure being that it would wipe all her applications.
Does anyone else know a way to resolve this? Or even what the '492 Error' is?
Thanks
(Just as a further note the applications are being downloaded through a Wi-Fi connection, which works just fine with my Sensation)
