What do ya think guys? Snake oil or not? I'm tempted since, if the rating it true, it is a significant increase for us vs the small increase to the epic 4g guys. My question is how much more can you squeeze out of a defined space of Lithium Ion batts? Or is this just Seidio just re-rating a battery higher than it truly is?

No No No... Stay away from there Batteries.
I had this one and returned it. They lie on there Batt Ratings.
Its as good as the OEM and more expensive. Do the math
I have it and get 20 hours per charge. Moderate use. Off of 4g most the time (WiFi). I am very satisfied. Plus now I have a backup.

While I have my doubts about their ratings accuracy and I'm not as good at math as I was when fresh out of uni, I do believe 1600 is greater than 1400.

yeah i dont know from past history of their batteries but my 1600 was def worth it
Does the battery meter calibrate this right? I have the 2750 extended and the battery meter always sticks at like 60% for a few hours -_-

i have the seido battery, i have no feelings about it, i have my stock battery right now, will try the seido battery one more time tomorrow.
I'd pass. They're rated higher than their actual capacity. There is no worldwide battery calibration police so companies can basically rate their batteries at whatever they want. Do a quick google search and there was a test someone did where they discharged various batteries and OEM did best.

The whole point of that statement is that the battery doesn't perform like a 1600mAh. The number is fake (that poster's opinion, not mine; I've never used Seidio's).
I've used Seidio batterys in the past and been pleased. I just do not think that a 1600 mAh battery is enough for the bolt.
whats the biggest battery we can stick in a tbolt with the stock battery cover? 1750?
I had stock size seidio on other android device and to be honest... it is not worth to pay almsot twice the price for maybe 10% longer lasting battery. Unless you can live with thicker extended battery, 1400mah stock is the way to go.
I had the 1750 for my Droid Inc and was more than satisfied. It lasted longer than the stock 1300. I know many people who had it and did not have this type of luck. I believe that Seidio batteries are luck of the draw.
They ratings that manufactures and vendors put on their batteries can come from a couple of different place. They can put the maximum expected output, average expected, etc. I've seen a lot of testing done and Seidio along with other companies seem to prefer the maximum expected. This doesn't mean you'll get that rating, just that it could possibly provide that much in certain circumstances.
I had the DX and purchased their extended battery and it truly was phenomenal. Reports had the mAh rating on that thing bouncing around because it was different depending on whether you looked in VZW's system or talked to Moto.
End of the day, the worst you will get is a spare battery. Since this battery would only jump from 1400 to 1600 I'm not sure I would bite. The 1300 to 1750 was definitely a sizable jump. The battery was actually larger, but in reality I found it performed as well as the official HTC 1500 found in the EVO and Sprint Hero.
I've used Seidio batteries in my past Blackberrys, my Dinc, and DX with good results. Ordered two of these for my Tbolt and was disappointed. Tossed them in a drawer and picked up two more OEM 1400s as spares (I travel a lot).
Dunno if it is the Tbolt or...?
I sent mine back, I did not see a difference at all
I've never owned a Seido battery, so I can't make a judgement from personal experience. However, I've read mixed reviews from others and I figure that if it was possible to cram a greater capacity battery into the tbolt without requiring a larger cover, htc would have done so. A 1600 mAh battery won't last significantly longer than the original, so you are proly better off buying another OEM or cheap one from eBay

So I've seen a couple of eBay auctions for 3800mAh GNex batteries. I can't post the URLs here as links because I'm a too new here ( :-( ).
The price is right and the promise of 2x the rather modest battery life of the 1750mAh battery in my GSM GNex is hard to resist.
What does everyone think?
It will double the thickness of your Nexus, and has a cheap (and probably) non-ergonomic back cover.
I wouldn't it get as it has no NFC (Near Field Communication) antenna in it. Also, most of those cheap Ebay batteries are not rated as advertised.
Try it and get back to us. I'm trying the 2300 and 1900 mah GSM cheapo batteries from ebay and getting back to the community afterwards

Yes - that's one of them. Do a search for i9250 3800 and you'll be able to find the other.
Admittedly the back case doesn't look as nice as the stock one, but what I'm really worried about is my phone exploding in my pocket and injuring me. Or at least destroying my $600 phone.
This manufacturer has had a lot of similar units for various phone models.
I had been using a version for the Samsung Infuse 4G with no issues for 4 months or so, so I would expect the same for the Galaxy Nexus variant.
One thing to keep in mind however: these batteries DO NOT have the NFC Antenna in them, so you will not be able to use Google Wallet or the Android Beam options.
These batteries are actually are from a Droid Charge. I read it one galaxy nexus and i have tested it myself. There are some Droid Charge 3800mAh battery with good reviews you. But you still will need a back cover and will have NFC.

$11.89 for cover & battery seems fair for 3,800 mAh:

Just be aware that all batteries are not created equal, especially from china. Surefire batteries, specifically 18950 batteries used in high end flashlights. They just put a new shrinkwrap and recharge old batteries. Good or bad, it dont matter at least they look new. They advertise 3000mah, youd be lucky to get 2 of 10 that are 2000mah.

Well, given the price, I'd have to say it's going to suck, but then again - it's not that much money to try it - if you really need something that huge.
I would try it, but I'd rather wait for a package that comes with a case. In the end it's a $725 device that I don't want ding'd.
After trying a lot of these batteries on most of my phones over the years, I say that if it aint sold by the phone manufacturers, save your time and money.

Generally any battery for your smart phone under $40.00 probably isn't rated at what it says it is. I've managed a fairly good collection over the years. You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to them.

Same here. Calibration helps a lot.
An additional 150ma, if that number is even true, you won't notice any difference compared to the stock battery. That small of increased capacity isn't enough to be noticeable.

If it's accurate, it's a touch over 8% gained. Rough math, but if you get 12 hours use out of stock 1800mah, then 1950mah will give you an additional 57 minutes.
That is a horrid looking battery door. I too have no problems making an 18 hour day on my stock battery. Wonder if a Tpu case will stretch over the battery with out the battery door.
The extended cover looks better physically than in picture. Its rather it's easy to grip the phone now with the extended battery with my big hands. Battery still holding out nicely as before.
My extended battery (note: it's actually 3800mah) and door came today and I must say, I am damn impressed.
This phone, even with extra-deep door, is thinner than the Galaxy S1 I just came from, so I'm strongly considering leaving it on all the time.
The extra depth and curved door is also good for holding the phone in your hand.
It's a great purchase. I bought generic off eBay for under $10.
I will say this is better than generic
it's on par with trexcell although both are of same mAh
I just purchased the 1950 slim version. Have been using it for 3 days. I got Battery Monitor Pro so I could determine true battery amperage. It's telling me 2366mAh right now but I need to give it a few more days before it settles in.
Hey nubsors I've heard those apps cant truly measure mAh curious to see how accurate it ends up being. I have a generic battery and I'm curious about its real rating.
place a stock oem battery and have it measure it
Any of you wanna send me one to test?? I'd gladly test one with my equipment and publish it over at my Epic4G Battery Reviews thread. I'd also be curious if it'd fit under one of my generic cases (regular Epic4G here) just for kicks but I can review the battery no matter what.
I'll send it right back after I get 3 solid runs of collected data for consistency.

Hello, I'm wondering the same if any user have any experience with this battery that claims 10 to 15% more battery juice for the note.
http://tinyurl.com/74h85h2
It seems that Japanese batteries instead of Chinese batteries have more xxx on providing the claimed power or mah. If that is the case, there is other two interesting batteries to explore:
3000 MAH
http://tinyurl.com/6wohgsy
2900 MAH
http://tinyurl.com/6sayynn
Also, these two batteries cost more than other ebay offers of 2 batteries plus charger. That seems to say something too. I am tempted to try the 3000MAH. Right now I'm just getting 12 hrs with my use style. I would love to extend to 15-16 hrs. That would allow me for a typical work day.
Right now I'm using 4-AA Imedion batteries within a Gomadic charger. This allows me three days of extra power before needing to charge the AA.
I know for sure Andida have a good reputation, I dont know about these 2 others brand.
For sure I would like to know more if some forum user experimented already.
Sorry about posting the other options. I felt in the marketing hype. It seems that company (e-cell) is not selling Japanese brands and others with others phones beware of that.
So it seems we should stay with already proven brands like Andida, Anker and others. I will try Andida and let you know.

I bought 1 original Samsung Battery and one other "oem" that I never trusted. I'm about to buy that 3000mAh ...Did you try it?
Sent from my Xoom on EOS ICS Everest
No, I didn't. The thing is that if you search within the forum for the "Gold" battery from business batteries, you'll find that everybody say it is not Japanese battery to begin with and just hold around 80% of the marketed mah. That is less than original samsung. Other said it lost juice around the 10 charge. It seems that all batteries sold from e-cell in ebay have this problems. Getting a battery for a phone that is old maybe is ok, but since we are looking more power I think we should look somewhere else.
OTOH, it seems brands like Andida, Anker and Mugen are more recognized brands. I will try the Andida and hope to hear something around 3000mah from Mugen.
Don't try the gold battery!!!!! I had it with my HTC desire. Its an outright fake. If you tear off the gold sticker, its a really lousy cell with cardboard stuffed. Lower than OEM!
In fact, I had 2 of this ****. Shameful dispray!!
I purchased 2 batteries from China for 5$, free shipping.
First the China batteries are light, my digital scale says for the genuine Note battery 49 grams, an both chinese are 41 grams.
There is 8-9 grams less material to accumalate current.
And its true, chinese cheap ones last, full charged, 20% less than genuine.
For me its OK for that price, if i need extra power, the two chinese are in my pocket, as spare batteries.
so these extended batteries are same size as stock?

Stick to Mugen and Anilda.
using it andida 2600mah almost 10 charges what i say bad then original. My ori batt from 100% to 99% around 15min on andida confirm less then 10min just normal browsing.
Guys I even tried Chinese battery and (as someone said) it's just lower in terms of weight. It even SMELLS...but works! Performance is about a 20/30% less instead of oem ones and I just leave it in case of an emergency.
About the "Gold" battery of e-cell, I don't really trust in a battery which seems powerful (in mAh) keeping the same shame! It's not logical, by the way I advice you to buy only Genuine OEM batteries and PERSONALLY I don't trust in sellers who say "genuine...oem...IN BULK". Original Samsung battrries are NOT in a bulk

The problem with cheaper batteries is that they use cheap low quality cells. In the begining they provide super-good results, but after 1-2 months they degrade radically, so if you want a year of performance you have to buy 4-6 such batteries.
Mugen uses good quality japanese cells and they last for 1 or 2 years, so you just buy one battery and use it for longer period -> lower cost and less hassle.

Not trying to flame you here but where have you seen it "proven"??
I certainly agree there seems to be quite a few happy purchasers in these forums for the Hyperion battery and that's certainly great and I, myself just recently ordered the Hyperion battery as well, but let's put some things in perspective here...
* As tigerboom pointed out, DON'T expect longevity with the Hyperion battery. At about 1/2 the cost of the OEM battery and at the same time supposedly 2x the capacity...That should already be a strong indicator there's sacrifices going on. Then again, my smartphone lifecycle is about a year or a little longer anyway so if the cheapo batteries can hold up for that long then I'm golden!
* There's little to no regulation on how a manufacturer goes about rating their battery's capacity! I'd be willing wager that the Hyperion's rated 3800mAH is probably closer to the neighborhood of 2700mAH (give or take)...Whereas with the Mugens (being a very well known and renowned brand) is probably right at the rated capacity. Then again, even if the cheapo Hyperions are well less than their rated capacity but still well more than the stock battery? Heck that's still a win in my book!
* Don't expect great customer service on cheapo batteries.
All in all, give the quality batteries like the Mugen their due, but unless you plan to keep your phone for a LONG LONG time (cause that battery ain't gonna fit in your new one!) and need a rock solid dependable battery thats got a capacity to last until the next ice-age, them cheapo Hyperions will probably do the job just fine and not break the bank!
Got the Hyperion and so far so good. I get a full day of usage now.

I've placed an order for it and it's already shipped. Should be getting it within the next couple of days. Will upload some pics once I receive it.

The Hyperion is only 20$..... It's not like it's actually as big as it advertises. If anything it's probably only about 1000 mAh bigger than the original. Mugen are built for quality, which is why they're so expensive.

Take a look at this:
http://batteryboss.org/
Basically every third party battery maker lies about capacity. Mugen, Seidio, etc...
even teh OEMs aren't quite at their rated capacity, though they are definitely the closest to what they advertise

Right, theres no way to guarantee exact mAh. Some OEM batteries do say a "typical" and "maximum" mAh rating since it does vary from battery to battery.
However, the third party guys being 20-30% off from their supposed rating is ridiculous. 5-10% would be acceptable.
can anyone confirm the max time they get running as a hot spot with hyperion?

I haven't used the phone as a hot spot long enough to drain the whole battery, but I ran it for a while and remember thinking the drain really wasn't too bad. Sorry, can't be more precise with numbers.

Can you use batteries rated higher than 1800mAh in the Samsung Epic 4G?
I see Anker batteries are the preferred choice. I found the 1800mAh sold by them. But I also see other batteries with ratings higher than 1800mAh, at 2200 and 2400mAh. However, they don't seem to be sold or recommended for use with the Epic 4G.
Just wondering what the highest rated mAh I can use with this phone.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes you can use a higher mAh battery. I myself use a qcell battery. Which states that it's around 4000 mAh.
You could use really any battery as long as it's the right voltage, and of course would fit.

Thanks for the reply. You must be using one of those bulky batteries, that need a special cover. I'm not too crazy about that type of battery.
Do you know what the highest ratted mAh "slim" battery is available. I was checking the Anker batteries, but they only seem to be available at 1800mAh for the Epic 4G.

I have seen people say they had 2400 mah slim batteries, but the highest I was able to get for a reasonable price was 2150 mah.

The availability of the 'slim' extended batteries is not looking good. As this phone has been around quite a while, I believe the supply/demand of after market batteries has gone down as well because I could not find one of those a few months ago when I looked.
I believe you're stuck with stock. I really prefer the extended as I get at least twice the life of the standard yield battery and will never go back. Good luck.

I have a qcell as well, and yes it does have the bulk on the back but.... I prefer it!
Where it is located it actually gives me a much better grip on my phone. I can grab it much more solidly. Plus it raises up the speaker a little if you are listening to music thru it, its not as muffled because speaker isn't blocked by the table. Plus the 2 to 3 days of battery life I get from it is amazing and well worth the extra dimensions IMO

Agreed, I prefer it as well. The extra battery is definitely worth it. I can make it a whole day with every syncing and overclocked.
Plus it fits under the black body glove case I bought. You can barely even tell it's a extended battery under the case.

I purchased one recently from Ebay, but I can't post the link here because I'm new to the site. Search Ebay for "2450mAh High Capacity Battery for Samsung Galaxy S2 II SCH-R760 R760X EB625152VA" in the photo you'll see for phone d710. They shipped the correct battery.
It's a slightly bigger battery, so the case barely snaps on. But working just fine on my E4GT SPH-D710.
