The price is right and the promise of 2x the rather modest battery life of the 1750mAh battery in my GSM GNex is hard to resist.
What does everyone think?
It will double the thickness of your Nexus, and has a cheap (and probably) non-ergonomic back cover.
I wouldn't it get as it has no NFC (Near Field Communication) antenna in it. Also, most of those cheap Ebay batteries are not rated as advertised.
Try it and get back to us. I'm trying the 2300 and 1900 mah GSM cheapo batteries from ebay and getting back to the community afterwards

Yes - that's one of them. Do a search for i9250 3800 and you'll be able to find the other.
Admittedly the back case doesn't look as nice as the stock one, but what I'm really worried about is my phone exploding in my pocket and injuring me. Or at least destroying my $600 phone.
This manufacturer has had a lot of similar units for various phone models.
I had been using a version for the Samsung Infuse 4G with no issues for 4 months or so, so I would expect the same for the Galaxy Nexus variant.
One thing to keep in mind however: these batteries DO NOT have the NFC Antenna in them, so you will not be able to use Google Wallet or the Android Beam options.
These batteries are actually are from a Droid Charge. I read it one galaxy nexus and i have tested it myself. There are some Droid Charge 3800mAh battery with good reviews you. But you still will need a back cover and will have NFC.

Just be aware that all batteries are not created equal, especially from china. Surefire batteries, specifically 18950 batteries used in high end flashlights. They just put a new shrinkwrap and recharge old batteries. Good or bad, it dont matter at least they look new. They advertise 3000mah, youd be lucky to get 2 of 10 that are 2000mah.

Well, given the price, I'd have to say it's going to suck, but then again - it's not that much money to try it - if you really need something that huge.
I would try it, but I'd rather wait for a package that comes with a case. In the end it's a $725 device that I don't want ding'd.
After trying a lot of these batteries on most of my phones over the years, I say that if it aint sold by the phone manufacturers, save your time and money.

I think you're thinking of 18650 batteries. Flashlight forums usually rate the surefires rather well compared to the others.
I'd say give it a try. those are generics. back in my multiple battery craziness days, i had 2 of those same generics for my Thunderbolt. they were ok.. at least they actually worked anyway. didn't use them long enough though to comment on longevity.

Yeah, I know what you mean about multiple battery craziness lol. I have two generic batteries for my Thunderbolt AND a huge Seidio extended battery along with my OEM. The generics work just as well as the OEM.
Generally any battery for your smart phone under $40.00 probably isn't rated at what it says it is. I've managed a fairly good collection over the years. You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to them.

Sorry if this already has been posted, I did not see it posted anywhere on here.
I just went to return my car dock at Sprint and they said they had just received shipments of Sprints' own extended battery + covers for sale. It was $54 after taxes. Comes with 2 covers, one white which is painted so it's smooth, the other a black that has the rubbery finish on the back.
Not bad for the price, I mean sure it can't beat the Ebay ones (which I ordered the 2 3000)
I am going to guess this is basically a Seidio rebrand?

No I did not. I asked but they said they do not know of any coming out yet. I can't find this battery announced anywhere so it must be a brand new item from Sprint, guess I got lucky.

With phones outpacing battery technology by a very large margin, this is the only way so far. I mean there is the option of carrying a second battery, but that seems a little unnecessary. I'll trade aesthetics for convenience and utility.

I do not even think they are announced from Sprint yet. I managed to get lucky and the guy told me they had them in stock if I was interested. Told me it was $49.99 and I jumped on it.
I have yet to receive them. They are still about a week out, maybe less. This one has only dropped about 15% over 5 hours of moderate-heavy usage. This is on the Fresh rom with battery-config script.

Do you know if they add the same height as the seidio 3500? I have the innocase extended on mine with the innocase extended holster ordered. I wonder if it would work with this battery. Also let us know how the battery does. I wonder how many actual mah it is.
I have no idea how it compares to a Seidio. I have not had the opportunity to do a comparison.

30 minutes of Angry Birds, 30 minutes of Reckless Racing, 30 minutes of browsing and 3 youtube videos, the rest being standby with WiFi at 7 1/2 hours total time uncharged, it barely dropped 20%. Whereas my oem battery would be around 40-50%. This being on only the batteries first full chrage.
I love it, it is no longer mandatory to put the phone on the charger just to navigate to clients for work, or to be able to use tethering.
I am a Network Technician, and I use my phone a LOT during work days, and this battery will help me greatly.
Obviously, this is not for everybody. I see my phone as a utility, a tool for my job and a personal gadget/toy on off-hours, not some fashion device, so its "beauty" is not as important as its functionality.
Jesus H Christ, that backplate and battery looks bigger and crappier than my Chinese-made 3500mAh, which I got two of at just over 1/3 the price.
im new to the forums but been following and taking UR guys advice for a while....anyways I just picked one of these up today to. Last one at that. I was gonna get the 3500 mah battery from hk right before I bought this one but went with this since oem. I would like to see how long it last.
Update: its now close to 6 hours of being in my phone under heavy usage and it hit 15% and that was out of package with no charging.

Rule of thumb on these is most batteries are shipped with a 50-60% charge from the manufacturer . It also has yet to be seen if this battery is truely a 2600mah . As its well known from Batteryboss even the Seidio doesnt hold a true 3500mah charge . From batteryboss the Seidio is only holding 80% of its advertised capacity . If the battery from Sprint holds true to that ratio it still will hold a charge of 2080mah (This is just theory and estimated) . You should see an improvement over battery performance from stock . Give the battery a few charge / discharge cycles .
Just grabbed one last night and not really sure if Im gonna keep it. The main issue I have is my phone is completely naked now. Ive got no holster or protective case and Im paranoid about dropping it. Gonna try and see if theres some type of case at best buy tonight that will fit this battery even if I have to modify it.
As far as life goes, Just took it off the charger so gonna try and use it heavier than normal today and see what I get

I'd really be interested in a major capacity bump and a replacement door. Could give it a battery sized bulge, or an iphone 3gs (and earlier) style curved back.

i bet its not even really 2200mah and will not outlast the oem battery and will be more expensive if past batteries they release are an indication.
They did tests over on the captivate forum with crap ebay china batteries and even the Seidio batteries and they were ask worse than the oem despite having higher mah. The seidio actually just barely beat the $5 ebay one despite being like 17x more expensive.

you say that, but using basic electrical formulas for batteries, and the fact that the 1900mAhr battery can net me 36 hours on a charge. the extra 300mAhrs would give another 5.6 hours. That isn't insignificant.
of course that all assumes they can deliver on promises.

My experience with aftermarket batteries (for all kinds of devices) is that they rarely outlast the OEM batteries, no matter what mAh spec the manufacturer prints on the label. Most of them don't even last as long as the OEM batteries.
But hey, maybe these Seidio engineers have enabled cold fusion.
I just got 2 Motorola BH6X batteries on eBay for 12 bucks including shipping. I don't care about continuously charging batteries overnight, **** paying 50~65 bucks for a fancy battery that lasts 2 more hours. People should utilize eBay more instead of investing in gimmicks.

lol just wait a few months when your ebay batteries stop holding a charge and see if you still go back to ebay for batteries...and its not 2 more hours, oem batteries usually last 30-40% longer than ebay ones.
I've bought tons of batteries from eBay, they all worked perfectly. I guess I must be lucky. I don't know where you pulled those statistics from but whatever, everyone has different results. What works for one person clearly might not work for the other. To each his own.

i never said ebay batteries dont work, they just dont work very well...even if you get lucky and get an ebay battery that close to the listed mah it will start loosing capacity withing a few month, they have fewer charging cycles than an oem battery. i used to buy ebay batteries for my phones and laptops but start to realized batteries are not something you want to go cheap on but im glad that they are working out so far for you.
Guess I just got lucky. Oh well, what works for someone might not work for other people. No biggie, sucks for the people who bought **** batteries.

Great find! I've searched daily for one of these. Thanks very much for sharing. I need one for backcountry GPS use and changing out small batteries always screws with settings. For $20 with cover and Prime, I'm jumping on it!
Just a quick warning that these are not NFC compatible. Personally, I don't use it, but it may be important to others.
Battery came very quick, very fast delivery and used for one day
I'm extremely impress with the performance of this battery. Typically on an average day, I only get at maximum 4 hours of battery life thanks to the 4G connection, now I can go on for a whole day without looking for a charger! will continue to post results as I use this more
Also will like to comment on the back cover. It has the Hyperskin texture just like the original case. Makes the phone just as grippy as the original case, the cover also provides an ergonomic contour for holding the phone properly. With the original cover I find it a little bit too thin to hold. Along with the hyperskin texture, this thing does not slip at all.
Overall excellent build quality and good lasting battery. This will be my main battery going forward
I don't trust Chinese batteries because of an experience I had with a Chinese battery I had for my DX2.
I will stick with my expensive Seidio batteries from now on. lol
seidio is like 4 times the price of this battery. I tried seidio before and although they are good, i find phones obsolete too quickly to warrant on an expensive battery with similar increase of batt life
At that price it's hard not to pass up. There are very few times I need such battery life but tournament weekends and occasional outings for events definitely would warrant this.
Just ordered one for flights with an external charger. Hopefully everything works out well.

Battery vs Stock vs Extended Verizon
I'm worried that the cheaper cells used won't hold their charge after xxx charges. It happens all too often. I think all of us have had this happen to them on one phone or another. At that point might as well buy overpriced Seidio.
That picture makes it appear that the extended battery nearly doubles the thickness of the phone. I'm using the Sansung extended battery and while it adds a nicely needed "heft" to the phone that keeps it from feeling too cheap, it doesn't add a lot of thickness.
I ordered a GSM one from Amazon UK, there's not much price difference with the chinese ones on eBay and, although the battery might probably come from the same or similar place, the case seems nicer and if anything goes wrong I'd rather ***** Amazon customer service than some random eBay seller.
Will keep you informed, although I don't have the official extended battery to compare with.
I just got mine in today. Definitely is thicker and kind of looks like the seidio extended battery but it actually matches the color and texture of the original battery. I am coming from the verizon extended battery and am charging up the new one as I type this so I'll report back after I use it a bit
I'm thinking of getting the Mugen 2300 milliamp/hour battery, but for 44 dollars, is it worth it? I game a lot, download a bunch of apps or update them, facebook, browse Google Play, etc. Will I have any issues with my Speck Candyshell case? I'm thinking of this one because its size is the same as the OEM battery and I don't wanna have to get a new battery door.

The 2300mAh is more of a replacement battery, because it only adds 200mAh, but if you really need power, I'd go for their 4600mAh battery.

Looks interesting. It doesn't seem like its false information but maybe they decided on making better quality for the S3 batteries. I'll be receiving the 4600mAH Mugen battery soon and I'll have bench mark comparisons against the Hyperion, Anker, QCell, and Seidio. Hopefully it turns out ok for the price Mugen's charging us.
For the price it's just better to get one of the extended batteries /w door off Amazon. They're cheap and juice filled.
I'm using the OEM, because I don't want a huge-mungo thickness out of my thin phone and the battery services me well enough.

Not sure if it's truly 2300 but it last just as long if not a tiny bit longer than my stock battery. They also have NFC built in. Individually the Qcell batteries are $10, so you could have 3 spare batteries and a charger for less than the price of one mugen battery.
I've been using the Qcells for about 2 months now. I havnt had any issues with them and NFC works great.

I wouldn't spend that much. I bought two Qcell batteries and a charger on Amazon for $25. They advertise 2300mah. Not sure if it's truly 2300 but it last just as long if not a tiny bit longer than my stock battery. They also have NFC built in. Individually the Qcell batteries are $10, so you could have 3 spare batteries and a charger for less than the price of one mugen battery.
I've been using the Qcells for about 2 months now. I havnt had any issues with them and NFC works great.

I also use the QCell batteries and they work great. One of the best deals on batteries in my opinion. I have also tried other ones from eBay and they don't even come close to the QCell ones.

I also just received a 4600 mugen for my s3 I can not find a case I tried a hyperion and it did not fit. Do you have a case on ur s3 with your mugen battery?

I guess manufacturers are learning from S3 success to release new accessories ASAP I see that Anker just released their 5200 mAh extended battery with either Dark blue or White battery covers, NFC support, and their typical 18-months warranty. Pretty good value for $17.99 shipped.

I can only judge by their S3 and N2 performance and reliability, and typically these batteries offer even slightly higher capacity than labeled. I know there was heated up discussions lol!!! about Anker vs Mugen and Hyperion in N2 forums, but just my own personal opinion because I review a ton of different accessories, I always find Anker and Mugen to be superior in quality over Hyperion (who often can't even meet the capacity they list on the label) and between Anker and Mugen - Anker has a much better value and longer warranty, besides Mugen hasn't even released extended battery for S4 yet.
Regarding other discussion about Zerolemon 3x capacity for S4, ZL just released their battery for N2 and working on rugged cases for N2, so it will take a while before they will have 3x capacity for S4. Look how long it took them to release it for N2, almost 6 months (but the wait was worth waiting for ).
So in my opinion, if you want good extended battery, go with Anker 5200 now and wait for ZL 7800 by the Fall time
i'd rather just buy a spare and swap it out if i need it... that way its not so bulky & i can use the case i want lol
Looks great. Hard to tell how bulky it really is compared to the size of the phone, but I think I may pick one up. If anything, it will be great for long trips.
If anybody picks one up can you please provide pictures on how it looks on the phone and how it works with the camera flash?

I have their Astro Slim2 and Astro 3E - been using for awhile, multiple charges and a few times it was a life saver for both my N2 and my wife's N7. One thing you have to keep in mind, something that is a fact with every external battery charger but only Anker spells it out in their manual - the actual capacity of external battery charger is about 30% less from the rated value because you have to take into consideration losses of converting from 3.7V its internal battery voltage to 5V USB interface which connectors to micro-usb port of your phone. Seems, other feedback on N2 forum about Anker external batteries has been positive, and I actually learned about the company by searching Amazon for top selling battery brands. Sorry, don't mean to turn this post into free advertisement for Anker (it's your money, I don't care how you spend it and what you buy ) just sharing my opinion because I review a lot of accessories and always look for a good price/performance ratio.
Btw, why didn't you use the warranty? You have 18-months given to you to get a new replacement for free. Go for it!!!

Can someone tell me if Anker or other manufacturer has extended battery cases for their products. I know that Hyperion had one Honeycomb case especially for their extended battery for the S3.I emailed Hyperion about a TPU case for their 5200mha extended battery and they said they are in development presently.
The anker cover is the same as hyperion.

I had both the Anker and Hyperion for my S3, and the battery cover is pure crap.
ZeroLemon is much better
i got mine today.. it fits the phone perfectly, for me i can hold the phone better with the added thickness but i need a case for this LOL. i feel like it would slip out of my hand.

OMG! It's tooooooooo thick for me (Yes I know, that's what she said)....and with a case it will become unpocket-able for sure!
How's the weight distribution post installation? Meaning does it have a tendency to slip?
Weight distribution looks fine to me. But you definitely need a case for this like what the hyperion had for their extended battery for the S3. I hope Anker would come up with a case for this.

It's a frickin' boat!! I'd rather stick with a spare battery. The same capacity but the total bulk is less IMHO.
I don't see a problem with it. It's not even that much of a bulky phone.
