What is it not doing? Basics would be to have your phone forget the network, reboot your router and modem, then have your phone scan for the network and enter your password. Other info needed are have you been able to connect before'? Are you on a custom ROM or stock?
Do you BONSAI?

I think its just sprint service in general.....

What does Sprint service got to do with connecting by wifi to his net?

Stock everything, i pulled the battery many times will that reboot your router and modem, how do i scan for a network? and the sprint guy had had me enter ## numbers and re enter a bunch of numbers, i didnt do a thing and the net just craped out, is this normal or just something else? i can connect with wi fi, and there hasnt been a sprint outage the guy said.
thanks guys for the help, i dont think the epic is broke something with the software or something?

I am talking about rebooting the router and modem on your home PC that you are trying to connect to. On your phone in settings there is a wifi and networks settings. Does it show "connected" to your home network? Or does it say obtaining ip address? This is where you can long press on your network and hit forget. Then press scan for networks. Choose the name of your home network then enter your networks password. Without this you will have no internet.
Do you BONSAI?

Yeah we need a little more info here to help

This has happened to me....
try a profile update that worked for me 2/3 times that this has happened to me on both my PRE and EPIC and EVO the other way I resolved it was by contacting sprint and for some reason just when they accessed my account magically my data or 3g symbol came back... hope that helps =/
I also have reason to believe this is a sprint service provisioning issue with our phones and the network itself... I've had it happen on all my sprint phones at least once!

Sorry guys I've been working I have no issues connecting to my wifi after u said something I went in 2 the settings and saw me network was off so I though great now its fixed but no. Its still dropping the net whenever. I can b on it and it goes to unavaiable. They said when I swithced from nextel that I would have badass service and even the coverage map on lines shows that I'm in a good area so my net shouldn't b dropping like this, I called sprint and they couldn't do anything I have to bring the phone that it may b a softwsre issue, but 4 having great servicewhy does the phone at best show 2 to 3 bars on the antenna the spring guy said that isn't a exact amount of what I have... sounds like bs 2 me that's the first time I ever heard that, I hope its a software thing because I really like the epic but I realy heavely on my emails and net 4 my job that's why I got a bad ass phone but right now I don't know, maybe I just need 2 switch providers? Nextel has ben great but I not 2 sure about the sprint side or u think this is a minor isue that can easily b fixed and I just needto ride it out? I know phones my old bb did but I still got my emailsand had my net all the time
How do I do a profile update?

serious issue with roaming please HELP!!!!!

I'm having a serious issue with roaming I live in central florida and in some areas the sprint service suck. I'm currently running the latest fresh rom as well as the latest klick kernel I have tried also stock kernel same thing. Currently have flashed pri 1.77 and I also had pri 1.43 and the same problem happened. When ever I try to make a call and if I'm in an area where there is no signal and I have to roam. Usually it is verizon towers when I call it says that you for calling verizon we are sorry we cannot authenticate your phone please call verizon customer service. If I try to call again several times it will actually xfer me over to an operator for verizon and ask me if I'm placing an international call. So I can not roam onany network because my phone can not be authenticated has anybody had this issue. Thank you please any help or adivse I would greatly apperciate thank you

There is a thread in development that is devoted on fixing this. I believes it involves calling a direct # to Sprint, where they fix your phone on the network.

thread link? i already tried calling and they said they would send out a technician... eventhough it happens anywhere i roam, not just in one spot... friggin guys
If u are on a sense rom, try updating your profile. If that still doesn't work, you will have to call sprint. Tell them exactly what's going on and they will fix it on their end thru the phone. You might have to call several times before u talk to a sprint rep that knows what they are doing. When I had this problem, the first rep told me to go to a sprint store. I hung up and called again and the second rep was able to fix

Call up Sprint, ask to speak with EVO Technical Support, tell them that you are getting an error message from Verizon saying they can't authenticate your device whenever you make a call on roaming, that you can't connect data, that you've updated your PRI, PRL, Profile, and checked software updates. They'll have to update some stuff on your end, and probably ask you to do a Factory Reset as well (so make sure to backup your stuff first!).
Took me less than five minutes to get everything sorted out.
Awesome thank you guess much I was talking To at lady sprint tech department she had me make sure I was using the correct msid number. Then she told me if that didn't work she gave the the # code to do a complete reset including programming reset as well. Going to try that tonight thank you. Anybody have a solution for the Bluetooth connecting then disconnecting all the time thanx.

ask Sprint support to help you reset your MSID... did that on mine and everything worked great!
This problem is killing me. I just rooted the evo to be able to tether at work to my personal computer but now (after root) I'm getting that Verizon message about can't authenticate the phone.
Anyone have more about this? I've searched the hell out of Google and nothing seems to be acurate to my problem.

How are you trying to tether? Wired or wireless? And if you are doing a wired tether, using that usb pop up, and choosing internet connection sharing, you get a pop up error...
not our problem that we were having. For that to work, you need to pay sprint for it or use calkuins mod in the development forum.
... Or use wireless tether found in the market
Ours was when roaming on verizons towers, we couldn't make a call or use data. Resetting the msid fixes that.
I forgot to say that I was trying to tether via wifi and while using data roaming. Well, after countless hours reading hundreds of threads I found this and worked for me. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769966&highlight=force+roaming. (sorry can't post links)
In short- call Sprint (number in the linked thread) tell them about your roaming message problem. Tell them that you read in the forums that the best known fix for this is to "refresh my phone on your (Sprint) end". Tell them that they do something there that you need to remove the battery of your phone and reinstall.
This will most likely fix your problem. >> You'll need to be on roaming I tried without roaming ( while on Sprint network) and didn't work.
By any circumstances let them to get you into hard reset, soft reset, we don't do this, i don't know, we'll exchange your phone, etc... You might have to update your PRL.
I got it fixed in the 3rd attempt.
The first one - a female tech wanted me to do a hard reset and got really upset because I was "telling her what to do" (she got pissed). >> If this happens be polite and hang up with the person and call again. no results? Repeat...
The second - a guy was very helpful and understood what I wanted. He did it but I couldn't get the phone on roaming (couldn't find the darn "roam control" widget to force roaming) so it didn't fix it.
The third - another nice guy after explaining him what the second guy did and the no roaming message situation (do not mention the root or force roaming) he told me to remove the battery - did his thing- installed the battery and while on roaming placed a call and IT WORKED.
I recommend you to read the thread from the posted link for more info. Hope this helps. I spent all day trying to fix this from start to finish. It should take you 20 min from this point to get the thing fixed.

Essentially the same as resetting your msid dude. You coulda saved some time by just calling sprint and telling them the answer you already got here.

So Far Signal's Been Great!!!

Dont want to jinx it but after a loooong day of dealing with 3g going on and off, and after speaking with sprint a cpl of times, aaaaand (i think this is what helped a lot) after manually programing my phone with my mdn and msid ive been getting great 3g connections.....
like i said, hopefully i dont jinx myself (knocking on wood!!!) lol up to now after half a day of testing it out, my 3g has not gone away, even after connecting to wifi... hope if it does continue, it can be the solution for a lot of ppl....
just reporting so that ppl are aware and may help them too....
DETAILS:
- called sprint up and had them refresh my account
- you might need your msid for later so ask for that info when talking to a rep (mdn is your phone number; sometimes your msid is the same as your number)
- after "getting 3g to work", i updated the profile and the prl (if not done already by the rep)
- then dial ##(your msl here)# and then press edit
- input the mdn and the msid
- press ok and the phone will reboot
and thats it, thats all i did and up to now its been working great.... hopefully this does continue and fix the problem!!!

[Q] NO Internet, no MMS- Talk and text work sorta... Need A lil Help!!!!

FIrst off I dont get any reception from my Dinc in the house, the donor I do. When out and about my reception spikes to full bars on the Dinc but I still get no internet and cannot send pic mail. Talk and text work fine. I have changed my prl several times. (30 or more to be exact) I have correctly wrote my ha and aaa passwords. used the m. ip setting from the donor. ppp i used the ones from donor and setups that have worked for others. Im lost!!! When i connect to the internet it says no internet connection. What am I missing. I am still on the stock DInc rom, should i flash to cm7 or another rom? Any suggestions would help. Im also in the md/dc/va area, so if anyone is local, what prl are you using? What are your ppp setting?
Have you tried doing a *228 option 1? That should program everything you need to get net access.

*228 May work for Vz customers, but my wifes phone and mine get a error message when I dial *228. Im startin to think i have a bum phone. I got my wifes phone setup today, she has reception using the same exact setup as mine including the prl.... So i may have to get rid of this one and get a different phone. :-/
Are you using this dinc with another carrier besides Verizon or a verizon mvno? Are you using it on Boost Mobile as your avatar suggests?

No connection

Okay as the title states I have no connection, voice, data etc its completely stock, brand new out of the box. The weird thing about it was it showed a 3g connection before I tried to activate it via calling sprint giving them the meid. Now it states it has no service by displaying the little red x and ive talked to tech support and they did not help. Preformed soft and hard resets and still nothing.

Try going in settings and hitting activate this device. Then settings > system upgrades. And update your prl and profile.
try ##72786#

Sprint will need to remotely refresh the device so that the correct account information is passed on to the device.
Send them a message via Sprint Chat. It happens sometimes when I do a hard reset.
Good luck!

WiFi not connecting, reports two slow?

So this has happened to me at home and work but it's not consistent. Some times when I try to connect I get a message on the WiFi connect that says "Network disabled because Internet connection is slow" (see picture). Any idea what criteria is used to determine this, and is there a way to over ride it?
I'm at work right now and I just got kicked out wifi due to too slow lol.. but at home I have not got it yet.. maybe too much people at work using the wifi network. .
I setup my home network to have separated name (SSID) for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Network.
When I connect to the 2.4Ghz channel, no problem.
At the same distance, like 6 inches away from the router, when I connect to the 5Ghz channel, my 2 Galaxy Note 3 shows the same "network too slow" error and it will drop the connection.
This is one of the many reasons I returned my GSN 3
I also experienced another WiFi error.
At work, I can connect to the WiFi network with the WPA password provided, on my HTC One with no issue whatsoever.
When I tried to connect to the same network using the Note 3, it keeps telling me I have to "sign-in", when I click on the browser to "sign-in" (like those Free WiFi you can get at the hotel), there is no sign in page (because there is none) and brings me right to Google.com.
After that, the connection will last for 30 seconds or so and drop off.
The one I got initially and the replacement, both have the same issue, and I did inform T Mobile before I return them back.
4.3 problem? Samsung's problem? I don't know... All I know is I will wait until they resolve all these before I will reconsider getting this phone.
I spoke to them on same issue. Got new phone and they working on updating the WiFi drivers.
NOTE 3
Here is the fix for this it worked for me try this....
Go to wifi advanced settings lower left corner then uncheck auto network switch. Then check the box that pops up that says don't ask again. This should fix your wifi connecting issue...

So far yes. Not a 100% sure though because the problem was not consistent. Sometimes it would connect sometime give the message. So, I'll keep you posted if it comes back.
Not trying to say your post isn't serious enough but we all who are having this problem on a consistent basis need to make a thread about this and just not take anything for an answer, but to give people somewhere to complain about this & hopefully bring more attention to this because there is nothing that is fixing this issue. The only thing that will fix this is Samsung or a Dev on a custom ROM hopefully. If you uncheck the options in advanced settings, it just stops the pop up from coming up telling you the connection is to slow & dropping you, after unchecked it dont drop you but while still showing you a full connection it will not do anything data wise, connect to the internet, switch to a different site, no facebook, no twitter, no market etc..... Nothing, you dont get dropped you just cant do anything. I hope my anger dont make anyone think Im arguing with anyone in here and their opinions, we all have this problem and are trying to help eachother, im just poitning out that those who are thinking this is fixing things its not, its just stopping the pop up. I am very frustrated this is happening on a brand new phone i waited this long for and paid as much as i did for. There should be a freaking petition started for this cause its just wrong.
Works fine for me my wifi never disconnects now after unchecking auto network switch and always scanning... Idk what to tell you guys that are still having the issue because I had the same issue when I first got the phone too...
Maybe try forgetting the network then reconnect after unchecking those settings and reboot...

Not all phones are created equal. Samsung needs to change the wifi drivers on the phone or a dev needs to take note 2 drives and add them to a custom rom.

I posted this in a different forum also but figured id post it here to. I just got off the phone with Samsung & they told me its not a major reported problem, wtf, lol? Everyone i know who owns this phone has this problem with it sayin internet connection to slow and booting them off, even with full signal. Im on my 2nd phone now & have the same problem. They tried telling me to go in to the wifi call settings & turn off wifi calling preferred, & i said why? Even though it's checked I have it off. I said seriously? what is that going to do for a wifi signal problem, lol. It's not my wifi calling it's my full wifi signal. I can tell this is going to be a huge problem & im returning my phone, 3rd time now, for a new one today, if i get the same problem, almost positive i will, im sadly going to have to return this phone & just get a refund instead. & that would really suck. Maybe i'll try a black one, but im sure it probably happens on that one to, lol.
I have been having this problem also. Turning off "Auto network switch" in the advanced network settings allows the phone to hold on to the connection, but it is completely unstable. I tested the connection using iPerf and it was all over the place. I can post screenshots when I get home later if it helps anyone. Samsung definitely needs to step in here.

Samsung could careless about us. They sold the phone to TMOBILE not us. Or whatever ur using. Everyone needs to complain to the big 4 major company. Then if they get hit hard then they can light a fire under Samsung butt.
