sup sup guys i just want any suggestion in a aosp rom that has froyo but wit a good battery life and a good speed and if u can tell any kernel that would be perfect
and thnx in adv
CM6...go for a savaged-zen kernel.
Miui's last Froyo build is really fast, stable and has really good battery life on the baked in kernel.... I think its either a SavagedZen or Tiamt(I think that's how its spelled). But no 4g, that's a killer for most though.

I've heard alot about CM, but had trouble flashing it one time and moved on to another. First I ran MIUI, it's very clean looking and smooth. They are on the gingerbread builds now, but you can find the froyo versions on their thread here in XDA.
I just recently flashed Savaged Zen rc2 and must say it is solid for a gingerbread build. I'm not sure they have any froyo builds as it's a pretty new rom. CM definitely has the majority of followers out of the 3.
Only dl miui if you like iphone interface.
I'm a cm man, nothing comes close for me

So I LOVE CM6 nightlies, been flashing them regularly and they are just awesome. Except for one thing, battery life. Does anyone know of other solid froyo roms out right now that are as cutting edge/advanced as CM build?

No. I get the feeling that most of the other ROM cookers are waiting for CyanogenMod to provide a stable base to build from. The only other Froyo ROM I've sampled was AVA-Froyo. Then CM6 happened ;-)
Over on ppcgeeks deck has a really stable froyo Rom. Only thing that doesn't work is 4g, other than that it is complete. I have been running it for days now with no problems.

Hey guys just traded my epic for the evo 4g. Just want to know what the fastest roms out there are, and what kernal is the best for battery and performance. I am currently on CM7 Rc2 with tiamat kernal. Love it so far, but i wanna know about other roms that are comprable. Also, i noticed im getting a lot lower scores with quadrant on the evo than i used to get with the epic. Whats the deal with that?
Well the quadrant will be lower the epic is in paper better but I found the evo more usefull and for good performance and good battery like MIUI is really good if you don't care about battery life and welcome to the Evo forums

I don't know what that's about, MIUI gives the BEST battery life and performance. Higher quad scores with MIUI than with any other ROM (excluding CM w/ snap turbo but that's cheating anyways).
yea i keep hearing about cm with snap turbo, is that a cm7 kernel or just for cm 6? and i personally dont like the iphonish themeing of miui. Any good sense roms?
try new gb miui with tiamat gb sbc. you won't regret, I don't and I'm cm7 fanboy. this new miui is the shiznit
my biased opinion is mikfroyo 4.6b2 odex is the most fastest and stable ROM out. i use nets 4.3.4 kernels..

For full out sense I like Myn's, MikFroyo's, or Evo Elite. They are all smooth, fast, and stable.
For senseless I like VaelPak's 3.2 RC. That is a sick ROM, and very customizable
For AOSP, I myself prefer the new Evervolv Nightly that I'm currently using. It's the most stable Gingerbread build I've ran on my device (in my personal experience) Salvagemod is also a good AOSP rom. And of course CM7, which you're already running.
Just spend a week or two and flash every single rom and try them all out. I think I've literally flashed every single flashable ROM in the dev section. I love trying out new things.
I like MikFroYo the best. If you check out my MikFroYo based ROM I make it blue and red with and without colored menus. Enjoy and don't think any ROM you flash will be your last. Its an addiction.
hey thanks alot guys! i think im gonna give salvagemod a try and also mikfroyo.
I use Cyanogenmod 7 RC2. For the most part, it's working well. There's a few irks, like the camera unstable auto focus, that I can't get over.
Any AOSP rom's that have 4g and perfect camera working?
Sent from my customized, cyanogenized Evo 4g.
i have been trying to find which is the best ROM for my evo with good battery, 4g, and fast(responsive). i obviously also want it to look good. whats everyone got?
Well just to let you know A**holes are gonna tell u wrong place and all that jazz.
But all roms to my knowledge have 4g except MIUI and ports from other devices.
Battery life from my experience varies from phone to phone, kernels play into battery life as well but again they vary from phone to phone. As for speed i think cm 6.1.2 is fast than cm7 thats just my opinion Salvage mod is great on everything for me but as for sense roms mikfroyo is very smooth and fast
i personally love salvage mod for aosp and Eternal Prophecy for Sense
eternal prophecy updates quickly and often so very few bugs and is optimized whenever something new is released. the kernel does play a huge part but for the most part i only worry about the kernel for aosp, as EP comes with 4.3.4 from netarchy. after that its changing your sync settings, display, if you decide to use setcpu(i do).
also my original evo battery has 1.5x the life of my replacement evo battery(i have both, my first evo broke and they only wanted the phone and let me keep everything else), hell if i can understand why
I say cm 7 amazing battery life, two hours off the charger and I'm still at 97% or so, its amazing try it out, but the GPS didn't want to work, there is a fix just download msl reader while on sense rom get the code dial ##gprsclrx# enter the code, let it reboot and flash to cm it seems to be working now for me

Sense base, I would have to run with Caulkin 1.8 with a kernal flashed on top. Works wonders for my evo
Cm 6.1.2 with SZ kernel. Battery is amazing. Very fast. And everyrhing works without issue. Use it about 3 weeks. And its the best rom for me.

I've had the best battery life with Fresh 3.5.0.1
As far as how fast the rom is, CM7. But the battery isn't as great, and the 4G reception seems about %20 worse than with a Sense rom. MIUI has good features (the music player with lyrics is my favorite) but to me it resembles too much like iOS and too little like Android (and I bought Android for a reason yaknow)
And like others have said, it does differentiate with each unique device
General consensus is usually:
Fastest ROM: CM7
Best Battery life: Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo
must be tough to do some research on your own and YES im that asshole
WRONG FREAKING SECTION ! isi t really that dam tough to post a [Q] in the Q&A or even the general section .. hell 3 or 4 of these type questions pop up weekly in the general section .
nm
10char
For speed: most ppl say CM7, but CM 6.1.2 takes the cake.
For battery: Either Myn's Warm 2.2 or the latest build of MIUI.
(i haven't tested Myn's excessively, but it seems great)
The only caveat is that MIUI does not have 4g, but is updated weekly and plans to incorporate it are underway, being that the devs just switched to a Gingerbread base, and the ROM has been varying from build to build. I use MIUI as a daily driver, because the skin is better looking and more functional than sense, and as fast as an AOSP ROM.

Myn's is the only ROM I get outstanding battery life with (my hardware must suck). And if I use any other Kernel's than stock, battery life is horrendous.
I thought this was a ROM with the best battery whats going on here? I'm confused..
I know that there was at least one post other for this, but I was wondering if some of you guys could give me a couple more (newer) rom and kernel recommendations or combinations. I have been reading threads in this forum for about a week or so now and there are so many different things that its almost overwhelming. I am fairly new to rooting (I rooted one phone prior to this) and am somewhat familiar with what roms and kernels I can use together, but a little advice/confirmation/recommendation never hurt anyone.
Basically, what I am looking for is something that is super responsive with a lot of internal space free for apps that I use (I would prefer not to have to use apps2sd). I would like to try to safely overclock the cpu (this is the first phone I have had the opportunity to overclock ). I NEED BATTERY! No, really, I need the battery to last at least 12 hours with some use (I work 12 hour shifts). It also needs have working Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, and GPS (as I use all of them).
I've been thinking of trying Deck's rom with Tiamat kernel (not the sbc build correct? That's for extended batteries I believe) and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this setup. Any other setups anyone could recommend would be great to hear about too.
Currently, I am running Synergy RC1 but wanted to see what else is out there.
I really appreciate people taking the time to read this and post their thoughts. I'll eagerly be awaiting your responses. Thanks!
I too would like some recommendations. My buddy just got an EVO and he wants me to root it for him and flash a custom ROM. I am a thunderbolt guy so I am not familiar with the current ROMS for the EVO. What are your recommendations for a sense ROM? Any sense 3.0 ROMS?
You can't go wrong with anything from Myn or Mik. I justed recently flashed EVOlvedAndroid's Director's Cut and it works pretty nicely. Fresh ROMs are okay too but I almost always find my back to a rom by Myn or Mik.
You might get a "you can search threads and see what sounds good to you" response.
or a "each ROM will work differently for different people on different phones. same with kernel combos."
you might even get a link to the Wiki.
If you want an AOSP Rom:
I can say that I am running Deck's latest with the kernel it comes with and it's doing just fine. I might use kernel manager to pick out a new kernel.
I like the latest Tiamat and Godmode kernel with cm7, but I for some reason was having problems with my GPS off and on with cm7. No problems with Deck yet.
If I decide to go with a Sense ROM, I'll try out MikG and use kernel manager if the one it comes with doesn't cut it.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I did search out a lot of these roms and kernels. I also understand that a lot of this is trial and error as well. I was only inquiring as to what people liked/preferred and what has worked well for them. So far I have flashed a couple of different roms (Sense and AOSP) and a few tiamat kernels and have found each has its ups and downs (for me anyways). Right now I think I prefer AOSP to the sense roms out there. They seem much faster but I also haven't done any modding to the phone other then roms/kernels (still getting my feet under me). Any other recommendations anyone has would be much appreciated, along with any mods that may be useful. Thanks for taking the time to read this and posting responses.

Basically any AOSP (only ones I've used are cm7 and decks) with the tiamat kernel will get you sick battery life. Once there are custom kernels for the new sense roms they will get great battery life too but if battery is most important to you you can't go wrong with decks or cm7 + tiamat kernel.
i been using steelH rom since the upgrade to gb. i haven't had many problems with any of them. the latest version 1.07, i really like it.. the last few days i been running it pretty hard. i'm seeing a good increase in battery life. on top of that i took a lot of bloat out and added a few apps. it hasn't complained and the fone seems to like it.. it also has a pretty small footprint\install..
txt
asop: cm7 or deck ( i dont think ther are much more choices i like decks cuz its a little cleaner and i can always find a way to customize it enough for my own taste.)
Sense w/ froyo 2.2 ( love myn's and fresh for more customized looking roms have great battery and everything works. if you like stock go to sprint lovers 2.2 and you wont be let down it was my fall back rom that ALWAYS worked)
sense w/ gingerbread 2.3 ( havent used it sorry to many blah issues here and there especially since we got an os upgrade i think htc shorted us and should have given us some sense love too.)
Sense 2.1+ w/ gingerbread ( I am running virus's nightly of the kingdom revolution rom which gives you sense 3.0 (woot!!) and gingerbread together which runns pretty damn good i tryed the synergy/kingdom hybrid and it seemed to work pretty well but seeing this rom is pretty bulky compared to the roms made for evo apps2sd needs to work and i was having issues with that. so anything strictly kingdom or strictly 2.1 would be your best bet.)
hope this helps if you want me to elaborate i'll try to check back and see what i can say
Based on the majority of posts I've read, people seem to choose Synergy or Alliance.
My current ROM of choice is EVOlvedROM Directors Cut RC1.
It's very fast and good on battery life too.
The AOSP ROM of choice is Deck's 1.2.1
Enjoy

I'd have too agree that Deck's rom with the Tiamat kernel has been pretty epic for me so far. Its too bad that there aren't more AOSP roms to try. Deck's its great so far! The battery isn't as bad as I thought it would be overclocked either. Is anyone doing any tweaking of their clockspeed? Do you even need to adjust the clockspeed with the screen off with the smartass governor? From what I've read it shouldn't be necessary. Sorry to slip in the questions, was just doing done reading today and was wondering if anyone had experience with this. Thx.

You cant change kernels on any sense based gingerbread rom. There are no custom gb kernels yet. Thats been the problem with sense gb roms lately...battery life kinda sucks

So I'm looking at putting a new ROM and kernel on my Evo. I've got Swagged Out Stock on it currently, but I'm not completely happy with it. I still want better battery life. And yes I run only 3G, Wifi/4G/Bluetooth/GPS turned off, the works. Battery life still sucks for me.
I find myself with a lot of choices here, though, and I'd just like some suggestions/opinions on the following ROMs. It's quite a chore to me having to switch ROMs and recustomize my phone each time.
Fresh Evo 4.2 (and the Fresh Toast kernel to go along with it)
CM7
EViO Series 3
Elite Series 3
MikG
Which ROM do you like and why?
Also, I have a question on the Freedom kernel. I might try it out, but there are different versions of it, Stock, More, Aggressive, etc. I looked around on the website and I can't find anything on the differences between each version. I get the gist by the name, but I want to know the actual differences. Can anyone help me out with that?
King bliss beta v7 with chopsuey kernal.I have not had any lag what so ever very smooth and fast.
Sent from my amazing Evo on king bliss beta v7
Used mikg with more freedom for while then switched to bliss
Sent from my amazing Evo on king bliss beta v7
Freedom Kernel: the names relate to the degree that they are undervolted. Stock is volted like the stock HTC kernel. Less is undervolted -75mv. More, undervolted -125mv. Aggressive, undervolted -175mv. Good thread to read about kernels here. Do not overclock when undervolted. Besides, overclocking is overrated. Underclocking your phone saves battery.
The ROMs you named are somewhat older, except for MikG and CM7.
MikG is sorta more recent, but it is at its "stable" point and shouldn't really receive any more updates.
CM7 is a work-in-progress. It is a never-ending process, but it is stable for Evo 4G. Always adding new stuff. It works very well, but some people say it is sorta bloated. Popular alternatives are Deck's AOSP and SalvageMod 1.4
EViO, Fresh and Elite are based on stock Evo 4G HTC Sense 1.0 stuff. EViO and Fresh are not really themed, only a few tweaks and few visual modifications. Elite is themed heavily (it is still Froyo-based).
They are all good ROMs. If you want heavily themed Elite, pair it with Netarchy-toastmod kernel. If you want a Gingerbread ROM, I suggest Poon or ChopSuey kernel.
Read my signature for suggestions.
Always read the OP and through comments. For example, Runnymede. You have to mount data in recovery before flashing a custom kernel.
