From what t believe. As long as the hboot is stock still then your warranty will still be there
As for not being able to go into hboot. You have to hold the volume down and power buttons till it shows up

I was trying to root my phone by following the instruction posted in another thread. But I cant go into Hboot mode. I turn power off, and then hold the volume down and power button more than 1 minutes, but nothing come out! why?? PLS HELP

Do you have the root or you still on stock rom with no root..keep pressing the volume down button and then press power button once....
I haven rooted my phone, so what should I do now? root the phone 1st? but in order to root the phone I need to go into Hboot mode right?

Which guide are you following for getting the root access and is your desire HD branded (is it locked to any provider..)
Turn ur fone off.. Take out battery .. Back then in then vol down plus power button.. When u turn ur fone of it actualy isn't.. It actually goes to hibernate mode..

I was always struggling, since this morning, to try to downgrade my DZ after flashed the most latest official ROM for T-mobile G2, "PC10IMG_Vision_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.13.531.8_Radio_12.52.60.25_26.08.04.30_M3_release_188635_signed.zip".
However, just cannot find the solution. Please help!
1) You will need to be more specific, what step are you stuck at, and how are you stuck? Are you still S-On?
2) For ROMs that are not rootable, the downgrade process involves going back to a rootable ROM. It negates the purpose of you flashing the new ROM to begin with. So flashing this ROM and downgrading was a complete waste of your time.
I thought you couldn't flash a g2 rom on a desire (official) ? But yes be more specific on what you doing

Two people have asked for more info from the OP, in order to help. You are doing much better. If you seriously want help, you're going to need to type more than 6 words. What steps you've tried to do, where you are stuck, etc.

it seems to be working but soon it goes to black screen
it doesnt go to total brick
because home button works so when i tap on it and it goes to home screen
but after that visionary+ app doesnt work
i mean nothing happens when i tap on the visionary+ app icon
after reboot these things repeat
because i cant get it rooted
pushing files with adb doesnt work
nor clockworkmod recovery
so could anyone help me here?

Were you rooted and S-Off before flashing the official Gingerbread update?
A bunch of people still don't seem to be getting it. Don't flash the official ROM if you want to be rooted. If you are rooted and S-Off, there is a rooted version, and that is what you should have flashed (just flash from ROM Manager or Recovery):

Hey there christopher columbus when you get into recovery with triangle and thr ! Have your tried vol+ and power? That should take you to stock recovery, as well. Like anything there is no root for new hboot, and downgrade method is only choice though I haven't seen anyone tempted this yet,

my friend has an evo aswell and i kno on my evo and my wifes to access the bootloader you hold down the volume button and power button at the same time and it will come up and tell you hbot version and give you s-off or s-on info for some reason the other day i tried it on his phone and it just wouldnt give.now i know his phone is supposedly rooted due to the z4root app on his phone but my question is how do i find out the hboot version so i kno whether to root with unrevoked or with revolutionary ?
You have to uncheck the Fastboot option in settings:
Settings > Applications > Fastboot

download Quickboot from the market and boot into bootloader plus if you have z4 root running its 2.10 or older HBoot. He also only has temp root not full root.
Other method is shut phone off
Power phone on
Release power button
Hold down the down volume button

So i put the Desire Hboot on My g2 to run the Virtuous Sensation Rom and i need to Unroot my Phone to send in for warranty.
I have the stock G2 Rom from when way before i restored it and kept it. and its on the stock rom but the S-off will not go back to on.
And i have tried several times to use the G2 unrooting Tutorial and i have tried 2 different Tutorials and non seem to work i get stuck when the PC10IMG is being read after you power down and press the volume button to go into the little white menu with all the information of s-etc.
Well since i have the Desire Z hboot is this why i can unroot my G2? Some please help me.
what it says right now on my screen of my G2 is "Hboot-0.84.2000 (PC1010000)"
and i think i cant unroot bcuz the img im trying to put on is lower then the current one i have on my G2 and it wont give me the option to update when i go into the Setting.
Someone please help me i need to send in my phone for warranty ASAP.

I have read a lot and I know that I must downgrade my firmware to 1.32 if I want make root. But every methods don't work. When I making downgrade with this Dovngrade v3 tool I always get $ mark what mean I don't get temporary root. I can't get into HBOOT, when I press down vol button and hold with power button phone turn on normaly. Please if you know what I'm doing wrong tell me
To start with, turn off fastboot in the power menu then follow all instructions and you shouldn't have a problem. All your answers are in the forum.

DON'T DOWNGRADE TO VERSION 1.32...that will mess your phone's bootloader. If you have read the development section of the forum, then you would have seen the Advanced Ace Hack Kit. That is the only working tool for downgrading, rooting and gaining S-OFF in your device. You don't have to do anything but read instructions and follow them....
Now I see your post there...yes u can use it with any version....just read carefully. All the information you need is in the OP (opening thread) and in the manual...

THE AAHK works. I recently downgraded rooted and installed a custom rom on a friends phone. Make sure to disable the antivirus as that will cause trouble and also make sure you read the manual.
IT DOES WORK!
