So i put the Desire Hboot on My g2 to run the Virtuous Sensation Rom and i need to Unroot my Phone to send in for warranty.
I have the stock G2 Rom from when way before i restored it and kept it. and its on the stock rom but the S-off will not go back to on.
And i have tried several times to use the G2 unrooting Tutorial and i have tried 2 different Tutorials and non seem to work i get stuck when the PC10IMG is being read after you power down and press the volume button to go into the little white menu with all the information of s-etc.
Well since i have the Desire Z hboot is this why i can unroot my G2? Some please help me.
what it says right now on my screen of my G2 is "Hboot-0.84.2000 (PC1010000)"
and i think i cant unroot bcuz the img im trying to put on is lower then the current one i have on my G2 and it wont give me the option to update when i go into the Setting.
Someone please help me i need to send in my phone for warranty ASAP.
Thanks,
iHeartzYou
I was also trying to figure this out, did you ever figure it out?

Okay, I'm attempting to gain root access, basically I followed
# Arrow# [GUIDE] How to root Android 2.2 on the EVO 4G
I flashed my phone back to the 2.1 froyo version, but now I am stuck, when I reboot my phone with unrevoked it automatically selects the first option HBOOT with no input from me.
I THINK this may have to do with the fact that I can't get the HBOOT driver's installed. I can't find where the driver's should be installed when rebooted. So now I'm stuck on FROYO 2.1, with no root access. I know that getting to 2.1 is the hardest part of root, but I need to know how to get the phone rooted. Please if anyone can post info, or has had a similar problem please post here if you can help me.
Did your phone originally have 3.30 on it? If so, you need to flash the leaked 3.30 rom back, then follow the instructions about how to turn S-OFF with hboot 2.02.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=828437
Where can I find instructions on flashing 3.3 I'm not even sure how I flashed 2.1
bump, if no one can help me get my phone rooted, can you at least let me know how to get it back to normal, so I have the built-in flashlight app etc.
i never thought i would need help with rooting, but i have the same problem. i have boot .97. which should make it easy. i am stock 2.1 and i am trying to flash a pc36img.zip but it simply wont load. it goes all the way to checking, and dumps me back at the hboot. no idea what i am doing wrong. i will try some troubleshooting now. ?!?!
edit i now have .79. trying to flash rooted pc... holding 3.29 now. wish me luck
same problem. goes from checking straight back to hboot. no idea at all.
Hey everyone,
Lately i've rooted my phone ,and i'm like rooted for a week now, and i'm using MIUI ROM atm.
But i wanted to know how i could unroot and get back to my stock rom? , my reason for this is because i think my camera is broken so i need to send it back. when i launch my camera i get like rainbow colors.
Could someone lead me to a unroot HTC desire Z guide, or help me?
to get my HTC sense Stock back.
Thanks.
Turn off camera effects?
Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk
it's not my camera effects , that's the 1st thing i checked , i also tried other camera's apps all ended up as same effect. It's probably broken.
But i got a next probleem :/ , i dont know how to unroot my phone , looking everywhere for guides but really cant find one. besides i already tried to get 1.34 stock on my phone which is impossible , it wont detect the PC10IMG.zip in hboot and the back-up i made of 1.34 rom back then is not possible to recovery anymore either , it keeps getting stuck at boot screen, could my phone be bricked?
can someone help me?

Mate,
If you use google with this keyword "How to unroot htc desire z", you will find a link to unroot DZ/G2. But I will not put it here because it is not in XDA
Cheers
the guide that you mean is the guide i tested.
it says G2 - t-mobile \ HTC desire Z
i tried that guide and ended up with a G2 t - mobile rom , while i need a HTC sense stock rom , so that's a guide for G2 phones. and you also need S-On and as i can remember while u root u get S-off
my friend told me i could unroot my phone by simply re-installing 1.34 and then let it update ? , but the problem i have is it wont detect the 1.34 PC10IMG.zip package
, and yea i did rename it to PC10IMG , but it still wont detect it :/ , somehow i have a idea that my phone is damaged cuz of the t - mobile rom. because i had no root acces when it got installed so i had to reroot it to go back. previously before i installed the g2 rom accidently , i could go back to my 1.34 whenever i wanted , and now it isn't possible anymore since it will get stuck at the boot.
anyone know how to detect 1.34 PC10IMG? or how to atleast root my phone to HTC sense stock
Hey! I need HELP!
*My phone is a G2*
So a few weeks ago, I flashed the DZ hBoot on my G2 to flash new Unity ROMS aswell as the Dubleshot ROM.
Now. I need to unroot my phone to send it back for a warranty exchange, but when I try flashing the PC10IMG.zip, It says "No Image or Wrong Image" in the Recovery.
I think it is because of the DZ hboot I flashed. Is there any way of reverting back to the stock PC10IMG? and why isnt my G2 reverting back and not finding its PC10IMG file?
If there is any more info I can give, please reply, I need to give this G2 back and its still rooted with a DZ hboot!!!
Also, what do I need to do/what is the phone supposed to be on when I return it?
Right Now I see
Vision PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT - 0.84.2000 (PCIMG101000)
here is how to go back to g2 hboot (this link is from the wiki)

- I know this isnt factory settings, and the guide that you posted was for the DZ with gFree, I am a G2 user and i dont know if I used gFree
OKAY Big step for me.
PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP.***
Now when I try to unroot the phone with The UnLocker's guide, everything goes smoothly untill I try to flash the PC10IMG.zip file.
It goes Loading...
Then Its about to start and it goes
"Parsing...[PC10IMG.zip]
and it goes back to the HBOOT menu... I CANNOT UNROOT MY PHONE
I need serious help! Please!!
Okay wow, this is a weird series of events....
Now its back to the stock PC10IMG file
Ship and S-ON
I just had to flash a few things...
But the phone is still rooted, i still have cwm, and im still on CyanogenMod... I want to see what I need to do to get the phone fully back to stock! Please someone help me!!
If i need to give any info at all, just tell me, this has been a long day and I am VERY frustratedd!
Thanks In advance!
I'm pretty sure the phones made to unroot itself when it's S-On
try rebooting it, and see if that takes it back to stock
thanks for the help! but i am currently on CM, should i try to flash stock?
Hi Guys, I posted this in Android Software and Hacking General, but I didn't get a reply. Probably the wrong section!
my HTC Desire GSM is stuck in Fastboot and won't boot into the ROM. The background to this issue is that I installed S-Off and then ClockworkMod and flashed Cyogenmod 7 to see if it would fix a reboot issue on the phone. The damn thing just reboots itself when the CPU is used heavily...
Anywho, after realising that Cyogen wouldn't resolve the issue I flashed the standard Virgin UK rom back over it and upgraded to 2.22.351.2 via the system update feature. The problem was that ClockwordMod was still installed and I had to get rid of it to sent the phone off for repair to Virgin!
So I did further research and found that I could flash HBoot via the AlphaRev.nl downgrader tool. I downloaded it and popped it into the root of my SD card and it flashed the bootloader back to Hboot 0.80.0000. That should have been it, but all of the sudden the phone no longer boots into the Rom. All it does is to power on and then go into Fastboot. That's it! When I try putting the standard Virgin Rom back onto the SD it tries to load it and then says "Main Version is older!" "Update Fail!".
How do I get around this now? The phone doesn't boot, so I can't re-flash S-Off and start again, not am I able to run the stock Virgin Rom within Windows because it complains about the versions.
Is there any ways around this situation? I just want to get the phone back to stock so I can send it to Virgin and get it repaired.
P.S. I *have* used the search function and spent the last 4 hours testing various things but I'm now stuck.
Cheers Guys!
Mich
Well you obviously fckd up with the Downgrader, you should have run it first BEFORE RUU. Also did you flashed Stock Hboot prior to Downgrader? (if you used CM7 earlier)
I never played around with the hboot downgrading etc. so i wont be able to help you but im sure there is some workaround...
as your returning your phone anyway why don't you try the official HTC gingerbread update from the HTC developer site (sorry I don't have a link). It should return your phone to stock and when you get it back you need to use revolutionary to get s-off back. Also, there is a sticky from user bortac which has loads of help and trouble shooting advice.

Any advice that uses the 2.3.3 RUU to fix something is plain bad advice - it can just make your problem a LOT worse.
@OP Go onto my guide, look at RUU problems for help
What you need to do:
-Make a goldcard (there is a tutorial there)
-Flash the WWE RUU
Guys, upgrading to Gingerbread has actually brought the phone back from the dead! =) And I can now return it to Virgin to get it repaired properly. The symptoms are that while the phone is plugged in and charging, and I'm doing stuff (taxing the CPU), the phone will eventually simply rebooting itself. Just *BANG*! And it's gone. And once it starts it's a bit of a run-away thing and just keeps on doing it until you leave the phone alone for a bit. Virgin had a look at it and simply re-flashed it, thinking that they could away with that. Typical, overworked, non-creative call centre workers..... I'm well pissed off with them!
Gonna send it back next week and force them to swap the motherboard or something, cause this is a serious fault with the phone.
Ok, hello everyone. Please bare with me as I am new here and this is my first time rooting. I usually don't do this type of stuff but I thought I would give it a try. Please have mercy.
I have a TELUS HTC Desire HD, and I decided that I would try to root it tonight. I used AAHK and the rooting went good. I am now on 2.3.3
The problem now is that I cannot go to ICS/JB OR return to stock. Everytime I tried to flash to a JellyTime ROM, hboot would flash to the downgrading gingerbread rom instead. VERY confusing. and as for returning to stock, I don't even know.. Please please help.. and before you ask, I did to a clean downgrade. Wiped the whole thing. I backed a lot up, except I forgot my contacts.. OOF.
Can someone please help me do one of these things? (Preferably down to stock)
Again please don't be rude, please have mercy. I am scared right now. Very thankful that my phone isn't bricked, but I am stuck and lost..

Are u sure that You are s-off? If You are, then delete the PD98IMG.zip file from the sdcard. If You are not s-off, then re run the hack kit as You have only downgraded. :good:

It was rooted, so it would be S-off right?? I think that the problem is that when I downgraded, AAHK put a ROM on my SD card of the Gingerbread, and everytime I try to load the JellyTime ROM, it loads that GB ROM instead.. At least I think that is what the problem is..
If I can still put the Jellytime on, that would be cool since I've already gone through the rooting process lol
I don't think I like Hboot.. How can I load ClockworkRecovery instead?
The process I've been doing is:
1. Put the JellyTime on my SD Card
2. Shut the phone off, battery out. then put battery back in, and hold Volume Down + Power, and it loads up Hboot. That's where I'm having problems
EDIT: I've just now found out that the phone is in GB, BUT NOT ROOTED! How the eff does that work??

Root and S-OFF are different. In hboot you should see at the top left corner something like ACE PVT S-OFF...
then you will be able to flash a ROM. If you are not S-OFF then you have,to re run the Hack Kit. Use the guide in my signature to find information.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
I see someone didn't read the manual clearly enough. For those that are sense 3.0 roms(like you) you have to run the kit twice. Once to downgrade and the second to gain root and soff
Thanks to you both! I got it working! ICS ON DESIRE HD WOOO!!!
