Hey! I need HELP!
*My phone is a G2*
So a few weeks ago, I flashed the DZ hBoot on my G2 to flash new Unity ROMS aswell as the Dubleshot ROM.
Now. I need to unroot my phone to send it back for a warranty exchange, but when I try flashing the PC10IMG.zip, It says "No Image or Wrong Image" in the Recovery.
I think it is because of the DZ hboot I flashed. Is there any way of reverting back to the stock PC10IMG? and why isnt my G2 reverting back and not finding its PC10IMG file?
If there is any more info I can give, please reply, I need to give this G2 back and its still rooted with a DZ hboot!!!
Also, what do I need to do/what is the phone supposed to be on when I return it?
Right Now I see
Vision PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT - 0.84.2000 (PCIMG101000)
here is how to go back to g2 hboot (this link is from the wiki)

thank you for that!
can I just get some confirmation on what the status of my phone should be right now? ( factory settings )
It currently
Vision PVT ENG S-OFFHBOOT - 0.84.2000 (PCIMG101000)
- I know this isnt factory settings, and the guide that you posted was for the DZ with gFree, I am a G2 user and i dont know if I used gFree
OKAY Big step for me.
PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP.***
Now when I try to unroot the phone with The UnLocker's guide, everything goes smoothly untill I try to flash the PC10IMG.zip file.
It goes Loading...
Then Its about to start and it goes
"Parsing...[PC10IMG.zip]
and it goes back to the HBOOT menu... I CANNOT UNROOT MY PHONE
I need serious help! Please!!
Okay wow, this is a weird series of events....
Now its back to the stock PC10IMG file
Ship and S-ON
I just had to flash a few things...
But the phone is still rooted, i still have cwm, and im still on CyanogenMod... I want to see what I need to do to get the phone fully back to stock! Please someone help me!!
If i need to give any info at all, just tell me, this has been a long day and I am VERY frustratedd!
Thanks In advance!
I'm pretty sure the phones made to unroot itself when it's S-On
try rebooting it, and see if that takes it back to stock
thanks for the help! but i am currently on CM, should i try to flash stock?

Here's my problem: I need to RMA my phone and I want to set S-On before I do so. The phone is set S-OFF with stock recovery and stock 2.2. The stock recovery won't run the Unrevoked S-ON patch. What are my options? This thing has to go back ASAP so I don't get billed for the replacement phone.

:::UPDATE:::
I figured this out, and it was a royal pain in the wazoo. There are no clear instructions for how to go about doing this, so as soon as I get back from FedEx Kinkos to drop off my old phone I'll put together a step-by-step write-up and post it in the Dev forum.

Take a look at the Unrevoked Wiki: http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/forever
Look at the FAQ section. Haven't done it myself but don't see any reason why it would not work.

Perfect, thanks. Got Clockwork back on there, gonna use the S-ON tool now. Anyone have a download link for the stock recovery, by any chance?

ETA: I found the stock recovery here, in case anyone else needs it: http://adrynalyne.us/?p=41
Thanks to adrynalyne for hosting it.

Alright, none of this is working. I've been going around in circles for hours now and I can't seem to find a solution to this.
I can't figure out how to flash the stock recovery onto the phone without S-OFF. I can't set S-ON without having a custom recovery. It seems like it's one or the other. I need to get back to either stock 2.1 or stock 2.2 with S-ON and stock recovery. I'm currently at rooted 2.1, Clockwork Recovery, S-ON.
I tried this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azwdpK400JA but the attached PB31IMG won't install on the phone, i get a "Main Version Is Older" error.
I'm at a total loss at this point and this phone really needs to go back today.
Anyone?

I have my HTC DESIRE locked to 3 UK, i rooted it the other day, and when i was installing a rom, i was told to update the radio, and i no longer get reception, and when i do it just seems to come and go, stupid me i forgot to check what radio i had installed at first, and now i just want everything to go back to normal and i really dont know what steps to take, i tried using a 3 UK ruu, but it was for hboot 0.80, but i have 0.93.0001 and when i tried it it would just give me an error saying please try again with the correct RUU, well something along them lines.
Could anyone please help me?
Thanks
You've already answered your own question - you need the 3 FroYo RUU or a stock RUU with a gold card to get back to stock. You can, however, just flash another radio and see what happens

Thanks for the advice, but that didnt seem to work as i had to unroot and downgrade my HBOOT first. But i figured it out now, and now have my Desire unrooted properly with the 3 FROYO rom by using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256 and then installing the official 3 rom.
Thanks
Hey guys in case I need to go back to Sprint or return my phone, how do I make the vol down+power screen option show S-ON instead of S-OFF? I had a problem with my Evo and didthe RUU back to stock but when they checked my phone they showed me the S-OFF option, told me I was rooted, and said they couldn't help me. Thanks!
This is what I used yesterday. Worked perfectly. Going back to Sprint today.
Yes follow that link, you need to unroot. Flashing a stock rom is step one, unrooting (to gain s-on again) is step two.
Thanks for the quick help guys
If you used unrevoked, you need to flash the S-ON tool, before you run the RUU.

Hello,
My desire hd's volume button broke.
So I wanna go back for warranty.
I still have a stock 2.2 rom rooted. I backupped it before I flashed a custom one.
If I restore that, and then update to official 2.3. Will it then unroot and go back to factory ?
Or how do I unroot ? And get S-on ?
Anyone help pls, I'm going back to the store tomorrow .
Thanks

Flashing your custom ROM will not remove ENG S-On, S-Off or Unroot.
Read jkoljo's Thread here: [TOOL][VIDEO] One click Radio S-OFF, SimUnlock (Easy Root & S-OFF Guide)
To go back to S-ON:
Flash stock ROM - Make sure it's named "PD98IMG.zip" & place on SDCard
Boot Bootloader & it will check for the PD98IMG.zip file, and ask if you want to install, Yes. Follow the promps. After boot.......
Temproot using Visionary
Use my tool, do Stock CID and S-ON (enter brand CID if you had a branded device, see second post)
Enjoy your factory-state phone
Just follow his guides exactly, and you will be right. Flashing the RUU will remove root, restore stock HBOOT, Radio & Recovery, but does not remove S-Off, so that's why you use Visionary for temp root & use the tool after.
When done, don't forget to remove Visionary & Superuser
Hope it work out OK.
EDIT: Didn't read your post properly. By flashing your backed up stock ROM, I pretty sure you will still have the HBOOT, Recovery, Root etc. Can't yet find a stock 2.2 RUU that will remove those (when flashed).
Maybe you'll find the answer in one of jkoljo threads.
Found the answer your looking for
Instructions on how to restore branded backup, and do s-on
Just flash a stock 1.32 RUU, then run radio s-off tool to go back to s-on. Just as described in the thread linked to above
Hi,
Thanks for the guide.
I used factory reset and it's back to standard now. It's unrooted etc, but clockworkmod is still on it.. And also s-off, but I'll do that with your tool. How do I get clockworkmod off ?
Thanks in advance

Factory reset will not remove root.
It's jkoljo's tool (didn't mean to mislead at all), I meant to show that I took the instructions from there and added some important / extra info.
Please read the link on my previous reply, has the info / steps you require. Plus related info in my 1st reply.
Thanks guys, it all worked out! I got S-ON now and fully factory state.
Cheers for the help!
No problem, don't forget to also remove the 'evidence' from the sdcard (PD98IMG.zip) , but in theory, yours is a hardware fault and not void warranty.

I cleaned my sd card hehe, but they give me back my sd card anyways. And there's also a software problem. When I turn it on from standby, the screen stays black and the buttons light up.. Also had this on a normal desire and then I bought this. So I'm wondering what they'll say now..
I noticed that before. I just remove the battery and reboot my phone.

If the above post, battery pull, doesn't work, it could be that the proximity sensor needs calibrating. Leppie has a tool / app in xda, not sure if require root though.
Edit: Here it is;
[APP] DHD Proximity Sensor Recalibrator 1.6 (18-Jun-11)
Edit2: You probably already know, but, make sure HTC don't update your software version updated to a build version 2.37 or higher. It can't be hacked yet. So you'll be screwed if you wish to enjoy all the goodies here at XDA.

hey everyone. I am a bit confused, and i would greatly appreciate your help. So I have a Desire Z from bell. Currently this is what I see when i hold vol down, and power:
Vision PVT SHIP S-ON
H-Boot- 0.81.0000
Microp- 0425
eMMc- boot
Sep 2 2010.17:59:38
So I want to get it back to stock. simply just like out of the box. I do have a back up, BUT it still keeps clock work mod recovery. Which I want to get rid of too. like I said JUST LIKE OUT OF THE BOX. So i was doing some research, and I found that a way to do that is to flash to spf file. I dont really know what that is, but I am assuming it a complete stock rom? (correct me, thank you.) So If any of you could provide me with that file, or tell me how to go about doing this, I would be very very thankful. Again, Thank you for all your help.

Hmm not sure what that spf method is. Simply find the thread with all pc10img.zips in it, and find your stock rom. Flash in the bootloader and your good to go!

This is what I see in my software information:
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: 12.22.60.09bU_26.02.01.15_M2
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.21
Build number: 1.34.666.5
Software number:1.34.666.5
Btw doing this will get rid of clockwork mod too right? THANK YOU!!!!
Do you have a g2 buddy? Or is it a desire? If it's g2 i can definitely help ya Edit: LOL nevermind i see that its a desire z. Go to this page....

Hopefully that at least gets ya in the right direction cause i dont know much about desire z
If your phone has been updated with an ota, it might not be so easy to install a pc10img unless the pc10img IS the ota update. The phone not being rooted and s-on will not let you "downgrade" versions. There may be an easier way, but if you can't simply flash a pc10img, you may have to actually go through all the steps to root/s-off it, THEN you can install the original pc10img.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge with me will just know how to flash the stock recovery if nothing else for you. Here's hoping!

k so right now i am just gonna s-off. then i will try the pc10img again. hopefully it will work, and i will be back to how it was out of the box. without clockwork and root and etc.Thank you so far.
Your welcome. Even after you flash the pc10img it will still be s-off. Just follow the directions that wiki page i gave you to put s back on. It will involve getting temp root on your new stock rom, and having gfree put s back on. Dont worry, it cleans up and does not leave ANY trace that you did the temp root (if you have to send it back or something). Let me know how it goes! I'm watching this in case you need help.

okay so far i have turned s-off. it was a bit of a process but i did it. now i need the pc10img. i am having trouble finding the right one. i looked at the forum u gave me, but i still dont understand which one i should use. btw i have my desire z with bell. i also gave some information above. so what do u suggest?
you would want your hboot to say s on instead of s-off if you are returning to stock

You even confused me with that one. If he was s-on and that start of all of this, the hboot s-stuff has nothing to do with it. Even if it did, installing the pc10img will replace the hboot with the correct one. He used gfree (i think) to get s-off.
I'm sorry OP if i had a desire i would be able to give u the right version to install If you look in the main dev forum i'm sure there is a topic called return desire to stock, and find the pc10img that they recommend. That would be my next suggestion since i really dont know about that phone

I searched a lot. i think my brain is going to explode. I just cant find the right RUU. i tried a couple and they all turn in to error [158] image error. I am so confused at this moment.
I tried RUU_Vision_BellMobility_WWE_1.34.666.1_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.18_M2_release_154437_signed.exe which should work. but it still says error 158. i dont know how to get through this.
okay so i am unrooting now. BUT another roadblock. hboot wont install pc10img it says parsing then returns to the main menu of hboot. i have double checked everything, the image is legit, and the name is fine. when i try to install it through clockwork it says error (bad). i am confused. i will appreciate any help. if u need the firmware info and all, please look at the first few posts.
