[Q] how to change ROM - Unable to load advance menu - HD2 Android NAND Development

I am currently using HyperDroidGBX v11 and want to try rom with sense Coredroid can some suggest me how to do that. As i search forum and net it suggest me to hold volume button down and I will see advance menu where I have to select option to flash from USB but I am not able to load this advance menu it boots straight to my current Android. Can someone please help me?

Dude, this is the forum for posting dev projects not asking for help.
There is plenty of tutorials/info, go have a look in stickies.

sorry posted by error on wrong form... MOD please delete this tread or move it to Q&A
Once again sorry
#TheATHEiST : Thanks for highlighting and I have search open but that is not working for me that's why I posted question.

the volume down is not for an advanced menu its for the bootloader( you have to hold down power button+volumedown button as i rember),
what you are looking for is to hold down only the power button, but its exactly described in the textfiles in the coredroid rar.

The way you should flash it, is the same way you've flashed HyperDroidGBX!
And there are plenty of threads about flashing a rom, going to the bootloader, task 29 etc..

help .. for starters
press and hold the power button, until magldr menu shows up.
then go down, select usb flasher
run daf.exe from downloaded coredriod *.rar file.
copy coredriod *.zip to sdcard
reboot phone, AGAIN entering into magldr menu(holding power button until menu shows up)
select ad recovery
choose install zip from sd card
select copied zip
reboot
wait
be happy

Flash Clockwork Recovery on Samsung Continuum - fix errors

I know there is a thread on this subject but it would not let me post. Anyway I had success with flashing clockwork Recovery on the Continuum but there are a few crucial steps missing in all the forums and YouTube videos that I was able to read or watch. I am new so the will not let me post links. Id you search YouTube for flash clockwork recovery on continuum there are links posted there but I watched the video and that process did not work on my sons phone. I kept getting a signature error until I did the following!
1) Download all the files needed
A. Samsung USB drivers
B. Odin
C. The cwm recovery file .tar
D. The update.zip file (this file needs to be placed on the root of your sdcard.
Follow the processes already posted in the forums to unzip Odin and to install Samsung USB drivers. Now here is the process that was successful for me.
1) Open Odin.
2) Power down the phone and pull the battery.
3) Plug the usb cable into your computer.
4) With the battery out, hold the volume down button and plug the usb cable into the phone. You will now see a yellow triangle. This is in download mode.
5) In the Odin software, click on the PIT button and select the .pit file you have downloaded.
6) Next, click on the PDA button and select the .tar file you downloaded.
7) Next, click on the START button. You will then see the Odin software do its thing and the end result will say PASS.
8) Ok...this step is crucial to your success. At this point you will unplug your usb cable from the phone. Now install your battery. (DO NOT POWER THE PHONE YET. IF YOU DO, REPEAT THE PROCESS ABOVE) Press the volume up and down buttons at the same time and while you are pressing them, press the start button so all three are pressed at the same time. The word SAMSUNG will appear then disappear and when it appears a second time release the volume up and down and power button.
9) You will now see blue writing which is the continuum recovery. Use your volume up and down to scroll to the update.zip line. Once this is highlighted, use your soft menu key on the face of the phone in the bottom left corner to select it. This will open the update.zip
10) After a few seconds you will see RED writing. You are now in clockwork recovery. Now you will use you volume up and down keys to scroll and the POWER button to select the option you want.
11) The first thing you need to do is scroll down to backup and restore and select that with your power button. The select backup, then scroll down and select yes. This will create a backup that can be found on your SD card in the clockwork folder.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks a million, S.V.! Your guide is the only one that brought my Continuum back from the dead.
good …………………………………………
Didn't use yours (just found it) but I did successfully get FROYO working on my Continuum today. It would have been a whole lot easier IF I had found this first...I thought I had a brick in my hand for a while.

[Q][SOLVED] How to go into CWM recovery using key combination?

Hi,
I just rooted my Desire Z and installed Virtuous Sense ROM but I don't know how to get into recovery mode beside using ROM Manager to do that.
I pushed volume down and power at the same time and it gets into a screen with three little androids below the screen and I see there are some options with the selected on highlighted in blue (is this correct?) but I cannot use volume up/down to change the option, I press power button and it get to HBOOT asking me to update PC101MG.zip again... and I can use volume down to cancel this update and power button to reboot again.
Anyone can help me?
Thanks.
Go to the root folder of your SD card and remove the PC101MG.zip file. Once you do that it shouldn't prompt you to update PC101MG.zip again. Then you can select recovery by pressing the volume button.
Sound like you flashed a radio but forgot to remove it from what i understand from your post.

[1.3] Installing Cyanogen Mod 7.1.0
(Cyanogen Mod 7.1.0 zip and Gapps zip files required)
You will need to download Cyanogen Mod 7.1.0 and Gapps. Put these on your MicroSD card. Now you need to boot into 2nd init recovery. Do this by turning on your phone and pressing the Volume down button when you see the blue status LED light.
Once inside, use the volume up and down buttons to navigate, and the power button to select. Firstly, you can backup here by going to "Backup and restore" and selecting "Backup (all)". Then "go back" to the main menu and select "Wipe data/factory reset". Once this is successful, select "Wipe cache partition". Now you select "Install zip from sdcard" and install Cyanogen first by selecting the file. After this, install Gapps.
Your phone should now start with a red Motorola icon with a wasp stating cyanogen defy 7.1-11 with the LEDs flashing blue and then green before displaying a blue cyanogen mod logo with the swirling animation. This will then lead into setup, meaning your install was successful!
[Note: CM 7.1.0 comes with the latest version of 2nd init recovery]
[1.4] Soft unlocking your Defy
(bp_ptc file and Root Browser Lite required)
Firstly, you will want to backup your system again. To do this, turn off your phone and when it's on the first Motorola logo, press Volume down when the blue LED light flashes. Then select "Backup and restore" and select "Backup (all)".
Then boot back normally and download the bp_unlock file and extract the file and copy the file "bp_ptc" to your MicroSD card and ignore all the other folders and files. Now search for Root Browser Lite in the Market and open it and enable the root features when it asks by pressing "Yes" and allow SuperUser access. Press the Home button on the top left and select "SD card" and look for bp_ptc and highlight it by holding your finger on it and selecting "Copy". Now press on the Home button again at the top and select "Home" and scroll down to system > bin and press "Paste". Now go back to the previous parent folder by pressing the green arrow and select bootmenu > 2nd-init.
Here, look for the file init.mapphone_umts.rc and long press on it and select "Open in text editor" Scroll down until you get to "service usbd /system/bin/usbd" (about 10 medium flicks) and just after it, enter "service bp-ptc /system/bin/bp.ptc user root group root user root" on a line underneath it. Now press the "Save" button.
Bro i Reboot phone and in boot i Choose to install from SDcard with Gapps.zip AND when i see only logo in device, can you see in youtube video.
I hope to have understood
Download one of the latest CM7 nightlys, put out on your sd, go to custom recovery (vol down on let...). There, wipe data/cache and flash the zip. Reboot (if you get stuck for more than 10 min on the turning boot logo, press both volume buttons + power = hot reboot). If you can't boot the second time, just tell. Normally you don't have to do anything to softunlock in CM7.

I followed the inscrutions to soft unlock my defy, but there are a couple of typos in the post on hotukdeals (. instead of _ in the file name):
you need to edit the file to look like this:
service usbd /system/bin/usbd
user root
service bp-ptc /system/bin/bp_ptc
user root
group root
service nvm-daemon /system/bin/nvm_daemon
user root
group radio
Thanks
thank you very much my problem is solved
but I have a question
how tu unlock all networks
Thanks labsin
Have you installed a recent nightly? I thought you didn't have to do anything else. I could be wrong (don't have a locket one).
Please post if it works/doesn't work our you have a question.
