Install Linux on the BlueAngle questions

I referred to http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/BlueAngelHowtoInstallLinux to install Linux couple days ago to use well after on mine handset, but the handset is hard reset who couldn't open HARET.EXE to prompt ERR undefine MTYPE the to be able to tell me this is what question and How can solve? How also has is must be able to support Chinese

There not default.txt file but I trying add to startup.txt and used the startup default.txt but don't start the Linux. If I update other ROM and first star the haret.exe can into the Linux but second can't into....

Also, whenever I type a chinese character, I get a chinese character, and everytime I press the CAPS key, my letters are all big. What gives?

[APP] XDAndroid Startup Utility - v1.3.1 - 29-OCT-2010

Welcome to the XDAndroid Startup Utility thread. This app can be installed in Windows Mobile 6.0 Pro and up which manipulates startup.txt depending on which checkboxes are selected in the Options screen.
The app also has an update utility which can download the latest kernel, rootfs, and initrd.
Currently it supports generating startup.txt for Rhodium, Raphael, Blackstone, Diamond, and Topaz. This thread is mainly for Rhodium support (since that's the only phone I have), but other device posts are welcome so long as it's only related to this application and not to Android specifically.

*Putting your android file system in the root of the sdcard might still not work...go ahead and try it and give me feedback, though!

FAQ:
Q: What do those dern things mean in Advanced Settings?
A: CDMA = Sets force_cdma=1 in startup.txt. This is for CDMA phones. If you pick the correct phone on the main screen, XDAndroid Startup sets this option for you..
HW3D = Sets hw3d.force=1 in startup.txt. This is needed for most phones now (even the Rhodium, YAY!) in order to take advantage of Hardware 3D rendering instead of the slow software rendering.
N. Am. Dial = North American Dialing - This is required for north american prefixes and for Google Voice to work. I haven't used Google Voice personally, but have been told it is necessary.
Post-Android Auto Backlight = xdandroid startup automatically sets winmo registry settings to disable auto backlight dimming so android can control. Upon rebooting winmo a .exe file needs to be placed into the start directory of winmo if auto backlight is to be re-enabled in winmo. Check this box if you want auto-backlight to be re-enabled in winmo upon reboot.
Overclock? = Sets acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=XXXXXX in startup.txt (XXXXXX = the Overclock Level you select just below * 1024)
Overclock Level = If Overclock? (above) is checked, this sets the XXXXXX value (see above) to your selection * 1024.
Manual Startup.txt = check this box if you want to use your own startup.txt instead of xdandroid startup generating it.
Storage Card\<insert your android directory here>\Haret.exe = This is where you tell XDAndroid Startup where haret.exe is and this tells Haret where the android files are.

I had to deal with the "directory not found " bug since i've got a german Rhodium.
I just changed the Path from "Storage Card\Andboot" to "Speicherkarte\Andboot" and it worked so it seems that the only problem here is that the Patch "Storage Card" is translated into the equal language of the phone and therefore the default path can't be found
Ps: Please excuse my bad english ^^

The actual bug that I'm referring to in my first post is about the exception that comes up when loading the app on non-english phones. Some devices are getting a directoryNotFound Exception.
What you are referring to is not a bug, but a feature. That setting is there for people that want to move android around instead of in the default directory. And, yes of course, people with non-english phones will have to edit that option in advanced...

It started after I have renamed HARET.EXE to Haret.exe and edited androidroot.txt (/Speicherkarte/ANDBOOT).
Maybe it was a capital letter problem after the extraction of the android.rar in Windows 7 and copy of the extracted folder to the sd card.
But then I got the next error message in german:

1) I think it was the directory problem (see answer 2) and not HARET.exe being capitalized. I have the file as HARET.exe also (capitalized) and it works on my Tilt 2.
2) Did you try changing the directory to /Speicherkarte/ANDBOOT from the Advanced Options page instead of editing androidroot.txt directly? I only ask because I'm wondering if you had a problem setting the directory using the app since you didn't say whether you did or not.
3) Did you get that error message when you pressed Update in the app or it just came up without pressing anything?

I got this error after I pressed the update button, got a black screen und pushed power button.
After changing the folder in the program, the androidroot.txt was not changed and I did it by myself. (maybe not needed)

Everyone, please bare with me. There was still a problem trying to run android from somewhere other than "andboot" (I blame it on the cold medicine )

How to apply BLAZN Theme to new Froyo FRX03 Release

Here HOWTO for linux user:
you make it at your own risk, I take no responsibility for eventually damage your Device or PC can take
1. download BLAZN REALESE and extract it
2. go to folder andboot, you'll find there file system.ext2
3. Do right click within folder (not on the file) and choose
"OPEN IN TERMINAL"
In terminal window copy this code
Code:
sudo mount system.ext2 /mnt -o loop
enter your password
DO NOT CLOSE TETRMINAL WINDOW !!!
you've mounted this system.ext2 file in Folder .../mnt on your PC
REMARK: If you want to edit some thing and not just copy stuff from system.ext2, you need to open your .../mnt Folder as Administrator
To do so click with right mouse ON mnt folder and choose
"Open as Administrator" .
Enter one more time your password
4. go to folder .../mnt/framework on your PC
5. you see here file named framework-res.apk this is the actual Theme BLAZN !!!!!!!
6. copy this file to another place on your PC
7. unmount system.ext2 with this code in terminal
Code:
sudo umount /mnt
Close the Terminal window !
8. Boot your Phone (with new FRX03 on your SD Card) in WinMo and put on USB.
Then go into your SD-Card folder and do steps 1-5. Just mount now the froyo system.ext2 like I said before
9. as you can already think REPLACE the framework-res.apk with one from BLAZN
10. unmount system.ext2, AND DON'T FORGET TO CLOSE TERMINAL and safely remove your phone from USB !
And that's all !!!!!! You have now new FROYO FRX03 with BLAZN theme !
It took me about 3 min time and I'm suuuuper happy Now have full working brand new Froyo FRX03 with my lovely BLAZN Theme
Please tell me if it worked for all BLAZN fans !!!

Кстати на НЕ стоковых релизах нету русского языка только 5 основных. Так что я лучше буду на стандартную полную версию ставить свою темку и доустанавливать нужные проги...

I can post this file here, but if you don't have linux you will not to be able to mount system.ext2 file from Froyo to copy the Blazn framework-res.apk in there...

Thank you, it's actually a VERY good idea , cuz it was a friend of me, who just mounted ext2 file from Phone storage card and FORGOT to unmount it before he unplugged his phone from running linux
So if you don't have any idea of linux - let it be
However if you do know how to mount and unmount files and how to work with admin account its pretty easy and fast to do.

Besides guys, we're going to have a new BLAZN build out soon... I can feel it. Workin with Reef to get the last little bug squashed.

d0nate. I have ubuntu on my pc. I want to mount a single file only to my system.ext2. Using ubuntu. I'm a type of guy that I like to learn stuff. I don't like to bother people. But i need to try this file. Can you tell me what comman I have to type on the terminal. Thanks

Of course it will... BLAZN is basically stuck in FRX00B (if you got the 'reference' build from then, it wouldn't have language support either...), we're going to bring BLAZN up to FRX03

If you don't have Linux, you can copy framework-res.apk to phone.
Use "Droid Explorer" and can copy, delete, rename any files direct in connected phone with runned android.
Changes will saved in after exiting.

Could you tell me if
- wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, GSM-Phone, camera
- headphone, loudspeaker, G-Sensor
are working ?
And how long the battery lives ? With mine FRX03 is about 8 hours talk time and 18-30 sleep time.

It already created with support these MSM72xx devices:
Diamond, Raphael, Xperia X1, Topaz, Rhodium and Blackstone.
Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, GSM-Phone, headphone, loudspeaker, G-Sensor and hw3D working.
Camera not.
Battery live not bad, not so great but my battery is little spoiled.

[Q] Some problems after installation Android

Good morning,
I have now for two days Android installed (Nand) on my Kaiser and have since some problems which I do not get attacked.
First, my hardware keyboard and my internet does not work. Apparently I have a data traffic but I get only error messages when I start the browser, for example.It is then the browser "Web page not available" or if I want to connect to the Android Market is "Can not establish a reliable data connection to the server."
I have made all operator settings, and it is also the 3G at the top but I'm not checking the Internet.
Can I fix the hardware keyboard with an new Image? Which settings I must choose in aTools? Which Key Map I must choose? Normal, Tilt, Nordic, Azerty or Qwertz? How can I resolve the problem with the Internet? With the GPS I might have problems!
I hope that anybody can help me!!! I despair!

Well, we need to know which build and which kernel you have installed first.
Is that correct?
OS: Android 2.2.1 Froyo
Kernel: 2.6.32.9 - 11/29/10

Also what do you mean by "my keyboard doesn't work" ? If you talking about wrong layout then you probably should tick "NORMAL" in a-tools unless you have a Tilt in that case go with TILT.

Kernel version is 2.6.32.9 and Build number is full_kaiser-userdebug 2.2.1 FRG83 eng. dcb20101016.211251 test-keys

Ok let's focus on keyboard first, as it's kind of strange did it work correctly on windows mobile?

Yes, it works without any problems on wm 6.1 and 6.5!

I had HW Keyboard not working too... I Guess it is caused by Keymapper androidupdate.tar...

Ok as A.S.J. said maybe it's a problem with keymapper, did you change your keymappings?
forget about installing Not so super froyo for now and try to setup your kernel/build without using keymapper if it won't work then try instructions below.
That's strange to be honest I';ve never heard of anything like that before. Have you considered trying out some other build? Try "Not So Super Froyo" by Kyle just install both system and data to nand.(your data from clemsys build on ext2 partition will be intact so you can always flash back clemsys system and have your settings saved) also while you're at it try '25 kernel instead of '32 I find it much more stable. Did you create your ext2 partitions with a-tools under ubuntu using gparted or in windows? I had plenty of trouble when I created ext2 partitions using some third party software under windows. Maybe your ext2 partition is bad and that's why the keyboard doesn't work. Anyway like I mentioned before install NOT so super froyo to NAND both system and data with '25 kernel at least we will know if your keyboard doesn't work with other builds.

I've found this bug in the querty.kl! How can I fixed without an update? Or is an update necessary?
The androidupdate.tar is an compressd file, how it is possible to change this bug?

Change the keymapping to normal or to Tilt depending on which device you have.
Tilt doesn't have a front camera European kaiser has.

Okay, I'll install Android again. But how do I get my problem with the Internet in the hand? If I install Android again I will also fix the problem with the Internet.
Should I even try with a 2.6.25 kernel?

I have this same issue now too... Must be something new that I didn't catch. I'm still doing some hardware testing on the keyboard itself, and going to find an original querty.kl file from one of my backup builds and do a androidupdate with that file to see if it fixes the hardware mapping.

Thats fine, I had no backup, is my first Android. And the problem with my Internet connection is unbelievable. I had a Data traffic but no connection with my browser and the other Apps that needs a Internet. I'm thinking all the time whether it could be the kernel.

@TheFstX Downgrade the radio to 1.65 and i'm very busy now but i think that i can release 1.0.5 this week end.

I have tested it with 1.65 Radio and I had the same problem! Well then I'll be wait on the new release of atools or I will test once the 2.6.25 kernel. Maybe that helps.
//EDIT: I will leave the 2.6.32 kernel and will instead try a different ROM. What about the VaniljEclair RLS11 ROM? Is this also with German support? Most of all I would like of course be a ROM with German support, such as Clemsyn's BEST FROYO BUILD Final Release Eng/Spanish and All Language. Can you recommend a stable and above all a ROM with German support?

I'll go crazy, now I wanted to install the Scoot release and it does not work! Now is not enough storage on the device!!!
what am I doing wrong? I create the KAISIMG.nbh that androidinstall.tar and install-seq.sh with aTools!

Can you post content of your install-seq.sh? I have used this build with no problem installing to NAND, so perhaps you changed something regarding the partition size.
